Max absence de peripheriques et interfaces

Bonjour
Merci d avance

Bonjour,
Tu as installé MAX soit, mais as-tu installé NI-VISA ? C'est ce driver là qui te permettra d'accéder au port série de ton PC.

  • MAX shows my GBIP-USB Interface, but no communicatin with Labview

I'm using a GPIB-USB(Agilent) Inferface to communicate with my devices.I Install the drivers form agilent and Labview 6.0.2. MAX 2.0 does not show me my USB-GBIP Interface and no devices. So i have download MAX 2.2 and now i can communicate with my devices. The problem ist, that i can't open the VISA session in LABVIEW, so that i can't communicate with my devices. I try to open the NI-Spy, but it show me an error. Have erverybody a idea how can i solve this problem. THX

My friend at Agilent supplied the following answer. There are suppose
to be two pictures at the end of this note, but my news group
    interface
does not allow them to be added.

I understand you want to control GPIB instruments using NI LabVIEW, NI
VISA, and the Agilent 82357A USB/GPIB Interface.
This method works for me. Perhaps you can compare your results to
this procedure, and then make progress.
    1. Starting Conditions:
I start with my HP Kayak XU800 PC (single 800 MHz CPU), with an NI
    PCI-GPIB+ card installed.
My Agilent 82357A USB/GPIB Interface is not connected to PC nor
    instrument.
The attached Visagpib01.vi LabVIEW program is on an uninstalled floppy
    disk: A:\Visagpib01.vi
I format the C: hard disk and install Windows 2000 Professional. I
    reboot.
Windows runs a Found New Hardware Wizard (for a PCI Simple
Communications Controller). I assume that is for the NI PCI-GPIB+
card. I click the Cancel button. I'll run a similar wizard AFTER I
    install the NI software.
    2. Install NI-488.2 for Windows:
I put in my NI-488.2 for Windows CD (July 2000, 500739E-00) and let it
autorun. I click on "Install NI-488.2 Software for Windows". I use
the default Destination Directory: C:\Program Files\National
    Instruments\NI-488.2\ .
I choose the default "Typical" installation, and complete the
    installation.
Now I click on "Explore CD" and run the "SetupVisa" icon to install
    NI-VISA 2.5 . I use the default NI-VISA Folder: C:\VXIpnp\ . I
choose the default "Complete" installation, and complete the
    installation.
I click the Yes button to reboot my PC.
Now that I have installed the NI software, the NI-488.2 Getting
Started Wizard runs. I click on "Verify your hardware and software
installation". It found my NI PCI-GPIB+ card as GPIB0. The Agilent
82357A will not be visible yet. I click the Exit button. I'm done
with this NI-488.2 Getting Started Wizard, so I click the x in the top
    right of the window.
    3. Install Agilent I/O Libraries for Windows:
I put in my Agilent I/O Libraries for Instrument Control for Windows
CD (L.01.00) and let it autorun. I click the Next button a few times
until I see 2 big buttons: Full Installation & Custom Installation.
Because this is the L.01.00 release and I installed the NI VISA first,
either button would work. But I'll be precise and click the Custom
Installation button. I use the default Destination Folder: C:\Program
    Files\Agilent\IO Libraries . I choose "SICL and side-by-side Agilent
VISA Installation". This will leave the NI VISA as the primary VISA,
and install the Agilent VISA as secondary VISA. After a few clicks on
the Next button, it says the Agilent IO Libraries have been
successfully installed. I choose neither View Readme nor Run IO
Config. I click the Finish button.
Some Operating Systems may require a reboot here. My Windows 2000
    does not.
    4. Prove NI VISA is Primary VISA:
Start button - Programs - Accessories - Windows Explorer. Browse over
to and highlight My Computer\C:\WINNT\system32\visa32.dll . File
pulldown menu - Properties - Version tab. My file is National
    Instrument's VISA Library 2.5.0.0 .
I click the Cancel button. File pulldown menu - Close.
    5. Plug the 82357A into the PC:
I finally plug the 82357A into my PC's USB port (any USB port). The
standard 82357A live configure window pops up: "Agilent 82357A
USB/GPIB Interface Detected". Because Agilent VISA is installed, the
VISA Interface Name defaults to "GPIB0". Because I know I already
have a GPIB0 (my NI PCI-GPIB+ card), I click the Edit button and
change the VISA Interface Name to GPIB1, by clicking the nearby little
up arrow. I click the OK button.
    6. Configure NI Software to Recognize Agilent Interfaces:
Start button - Programs - National Instruments - Measurement and
Automation Explorer. I click the OK button because I don't care when
MAX searches for new devices. Tools pulldown menu - NI-VISA -
Passport Editor. I put a checkmark in the "NIVisaTulip.dll - VISA
Library Passport for Tulip" line. I click the OK button. Because I
changed a setting, I need to click the OK button again. File pulldown
menu - Exit to exit MAX.
    7. Access an Instrument through the 82357A:
The Agilent 82357A USB/GPIB Interface should now be accessible from
NI-VISA. With my 82357A plugged onto my HP 34401A Multimeter, Start
button - Programs - National Instruments - VISA - VISA Interactive
Control. Below the "GPIB1 (hpib7, 82357)" line, is a line for my
instrument, "GPIB1::23::INSTR". I double click on that "INSTR" line
to pop up a session window. Basic I/O tab - viWrite tab, I click the
Execute button to write the default "*IDN?\n" string. viRead tab, I
click the Execute button to read the expected
    "HEWLETT-PACKARD,34401A,0,5-1-1\n" string. I'm done, so I click the x
in the top right of the window. File pulldown menu - Exit to exit the
    VISA Interactive Control window.
    8. Install NI LabVIEW Evaluation 6i:
I put in my NI LabVIEW Evaluation Software for Windows 2000/NT/Me/9x
CD (version 6i, 350778A-01) and let it autorun. I click the Install
button. Eventually I choose the Complete installation. It says
LabVIEW 6i Evaluation has been successfully installed. I click the
Finish button. Eventually I click the OK button.
    9. Run the attached Visagpib01.vi LabVIEW program:
Start button - Programs - National Instruments LabVIEW 6i. I click
the lower left RED Start using LabVIEW button. I click the Open VI
button and enter the File name as A:\Visagpib01 . I close the
Controls and Tools palettes by clicking the x in the top right
corners. Notice the resource name field of "GPIB1::23::INSTR" to use
my GPIB1 82357A connected to my 34401A at GPIB address 23. Operate
pulldown menu - Run, and the read buffer field now says this expected
string: "HEWLETT-PACKARD,34401A,0,5-1-1". Running the example again
simply writes over the earlier string, and so does not appear to
change the display. The attached Visagpib01.vi LabVIEW program is
    simplified from the "C:\Program Files\National Instruments\LabVIEW 6
Eval\Examples\instr\visa\SRQ Event Handling.vi" NI example program.
I attach 2 GIF files to describe the attached Visagpib01.vi program:
    Visagpib01_panel.gif
    Visagpib01_diag.gif
    I hope this helps!

  • "Error Deleting Device" when removing PCI-7334 in MAX

I added a Virtual NI-Motion device by doing the follwoing in MAX:
Right click "Devices and Interfaces"->Create New->Virtual NI Motion Devices->Virtual 7334
Now my hardware has arrived, but when I installed the card in a PCI slot, no new devices were listed. There was only one entry, with the device status of "Device is not responding or has been removed from the system". I wanted to remove this device, but was unable to. I do the following:
    Right click "PCI-7334 (1)"->Remove Device
After answering yes to the dialogue, I get a pop-up that says "Error Deleting Device". How can I get around this problem?
    Thanks for the help!

    Hi Jay,
It sounds like there might have been some sort of corruption in the data file in Measurement and Automation Explorer.  I recommend deleting the Data folder in the following directory:
    ...Documents and Settings\ All Users\Application Data\National Instruments\MAX
This will simply cause MAX to reinitialize its settings.  Any saved information such as Tasks and Configurations will be lost though.

  • Cant use DAQ from MAX in LABView

I am new to LABView and NI-DAQ and have some problems getting it going. I have LABView 6.1 and NI-DAQ 6.9.2 installed on a Windows XP operating system. The DAQ card is an AT-MIO-16E series,is installed and is visible in MAX under the "Devices and Interfaces" section. It tests fine in MAX using the channel test. However, I have no option in LABView to view the DAQ channel, and under the "Tools" menu there is no option to select anything regarding DAQ. Upon starting LABView, the "DAQ Solutions" is also greyed out and not selectable. I have uninstalled and re-installed the entire package a few times already! Can anyone please give me some advise to try and rectify this problem?

    Hello,
if i got that right, you want to do a data acquisition with a LabView program.
Basicly there are examples coming with LabView to get started with DAQ programming. You find them under the menu:
    "Help -> Find Examples"
In this example browser you can select:
"Hardware Input and Output -> DAQ -> Getting Started"
or other examples concerning hardware I/O
You can also give aliases to channels you want to read.
This is done in the Measurement and Automation explorer by creating virtual channels.
Here a link to how it is done:
    Create a virtual channel
i hope this gives you a starting point

  • Can not access serial port while upgrading from LabVIEW 6.1 to 7.0

    Hi,
I built an application under LabVIEW 6.0.2. few years ago. This application uses LabVIEW serial features. When I upgraded to LabVIEW 6.1, my application was still working correctly.
Today, I upgraded to LabVIEW 7.0, mass compile all VIs and now my application can not communicate with my peripheral !!!
The program is sending the command to the peripheral. The peripheral answers but LabVIEW serial driver does not see any datas on buffer even if datas are available ... "Bytes At serial port.vi" always returns 0. I am sure that datas are available, using a COM port psy.
    Does anyone has an idea?
I saw a lot of solutions in the forum, but I would like to know the best solution with minimum work, te
st, and so on ... on my program.
    Regards,
    Pascal.

    Hi Pascal,
Which is your version of NI-VISA?
Please see the link bellow :
    http://digital.ni.com/manuals.nsf/websearch/E8D86CD680B0753D86256D2C005D8EA0
The first test to be made is to test the communication with your serial port using MAX (Measurement and Automation Explorer) :
Open MAX, Go to "Devices and Interfaces", then "Ports", select COM1 (or ASRL1::INSTR). Right clic on it and select "Open VISA Session" the go the "Basic I/O" then Write data, execute, Read data, execute.
Be sure that the communication is OK. Be sure that you use the same Alias existing in MAX in your LabVIEW program.
Now, if all is OK, try to use Serial communication examples existing in LabVIEW Help>>Examples Finder. These examples use NI-VISA VIs.
If all above is OK and you
still have the same problem, try to follow these instructions :
"In order to use the old Serial Compatibility VIs in LabVIEW 7.x, you must copy the following files from a previous version of LabVIEW to the LabVIEW 7.x directory:
Replace the serial.llb in LabVIEW 7.x with the serial.llb from a previous version of LabVIEW. This file is found in C:\Program Files\National Instruments\LabVIEW\vi.lib\instr.
Replace the _sersup.llb file in LabVIEW 7.x with the _sersup.llb from a previous version of LabVIEW. In LabVIEW 6i and 6.1 this file is located in C:\Program Files\National Instruments\LabVIEW\vi.lib\platform. In LabVIEW 7.x (and 5.x) this file is found in C:\Program Files\National Instruments\LabVIEW\vi.lib\instr.
Copy the file serpdrv to the C:\Program Files\National Instruments\LabVIEW 7.x directory. This file is not installed with LabVIEW 7.x, so it only needs to be copied from a previous version of LabVIEW, not replaced."
I hope that my answer will help you.

We are currently in the process of migrating out vmware infrastructure from HP to UCS.  We are utilizing the Virtual Connect Adapters for the project.  With the migration we also plan on implementing the cisco nexus v1000 in our environment.  I have demo equipment setup and have had a chance to install a test environment, but still have a few design questions.
When implementing the new setup, what is a good base setup for the virtual connect adapters with the v1000?  How many Nics should I dedicate?  Right now I run 6 nics per server (2 console, 2 Virtual Machines, and 2 Vmotion).  Is this a setup I should continue with going forward?  The only other thing I am looking to implement is another set of nics for nfs access.  In a previous setup at a different job, we had 10 nics per server (2 console, 4 virtual machines, 2 vmotion and 2 iSCSI).  Is there any kind of standard for this setup?
The reason I am asking is I want to get the most out of my vmware environment as we will be looking to migrate Tier 1 app servers once we get everything up and running.
    Thanks for the help!

    Tim,
Migrating from HP Virtual Connect (VC) -> UCS might change your network design slightly, for the better of course .  Not sure if you're using 1G or 10G VC modules but I'll respond as if you've using 10G modules because this is what UCS will provide. VC modules provide a 10G interface that you can logically chop up into a max of 4 host vNIC interfaces totaling 10G. Though it's handy to divide a single 10G interfaces into virtual NICs for Service Console, VMotion, iSCSI etc, this creates the opportunity for wasted bandwidth.  The logical NICs VC creates provides a max limit of bandwidth to the adapter.  For example if create a 2GB interface for your host to use for vMotion, then 2G of your 10G pipe is wastes when there's no vMotions taking place!
UCS & 1000v offer a different solution in terms of bandwidth utilization by means of QoS.  We feel it's more appropriate to specifiy a "minimum" bandwidth guarantee rather than a hard upper limit - leading to wasted pipe.  Depending on which UCS blade and mezz card option you have, the # of adapters you can present to the Host varies.  B200 blades can support one mezz card (with 2 x 10G interfaces) while the B250 and B440 are full width blades and support 2 Mezz cards.  In terms of Mezz cards now, there's the Intel/Emulex/Qlogic/Broamcom/Cisco VIC options.  In my opinion the M81KR (VIC) is best suited for virtualized environments as you can present up to 56 virtual interfaces to the host, each having various levels of QoS applied.  When you roll the 1000v into the mix you have a lethal combination of adding some of the new QoS features that automatically match traffic types such as Service Console, iSCSI, VMotion etc.  See this thread for a list/explanation of new features coming in the next verison of 1000v due out in a couple weeks https://www.myciscocommunity.com/message/61580#61580
Before you think about design too much, tell us what blades & adapters you're using and we can offer some suggestions for setting them up in the best configuration for your virtual infrastructure.

    Robert

  • Problems trying to SUM after returning date on first row in all rows

    Hi,
I'm having problems with a calculation in a table report.
We've built a Discoverer report that looks at long term absence of an employee. The long-term absence period must be worked out based on a 2-year rolling period from the start date of the employee's most recent sickness. For example, if i'm off sick and have been since 01-Mar-2009 the report will look at all absences i've had since 01-Mar-2007 and sum the days.
I have built a calculation that always returns the latest absence start date for every row of absence a person has had. This has been achieved by using a LEAD Function and ROW_NUMBER, see below:
LEAD(Absence Start Date,ROW_NUMBER() OVER(PARTITION BY Employee Number  ORDER BY  Absence Start Date DESC)-1) OVER(PARTITION BY Employee Number  ORDER BY  Absence Start Date DESC)
The problem I have is that I cannot SUM the Absence Days of the person and bring in one row per person in the report. I think the cause is the use of the ROW_NUMBER. It ends up returning a Row for every absence the person has had.
Is there any way I can achieve returning the latest absence start date of a person against all absence rows (in order to use a condition to restrict the report to all absences that started after 2 years prior to that date) that they've had and sum up the absence days so that only one row per person is returned? I cannot use row generators and cannot register PL/SQL functions. I would need to get IT to help me which is min 3 month turnaround, so I'm trying to resolve this quickly.
    Hope you can help.
    Many Thanks,
    Lloyd

    Hi Michael,
Thanks a lot for this. The calculation you provided fixes the issue. However, The partition part of it seems to cause another.
In order to calculate total absence days the following calculation is used:
SUM(CASE WHEN NVL2("Absence (Employee) - Historic"."Date End",( CASE WHEN Absence Finish >= Absence Start THEN "Absence (Employee) - Historic".Absence Days END ),CASE WHEN "Absence (Employee) - Historic".Date Start < Period Start Date THEN WORKING_DAYS_BETWEEN(Period Start Date,Absence Finish) WHEN Absence Finish >= Absence Start THEN WORKING_DAYS_BETWEEN(Absence Start,Absence Finish) END) = 0 THEN DAYS_BETWEEN(Absence Start,Absence Finish) ELSE NVL2("Absence (Employee) - Historic"."Date End",( CASE WHEN Absence Finish >= Absence Start THEN "Absence (Employee) - Historic".Absence Days END ),CASE WHEN Absence Finish >= Absence Start THEN WORKING_DAYS_BETWEEN(Absence Start,Absence Finish) END) END) OVER(PARTITION BY "Person Assignment Information (Person) - Historic".Employee Number ORDER BY "Person Assignment Information (Person) - Historic".Employee Number )
    Here is a little Key:
    Absence Start
    GREATEST("Absence (Employee) - Historic".Date Start,ADD_MONTHS(TRUNC(SYSDATE),-24))
    Absence Finish
    LEAST(NVL("Absence (Employee) - Historic".Date End,TRUNC(SYSDATE)),TRUNC(SYSDATE))
    Period Start Date
    ADD_MONTHS(MAX("Absence (Employee) - Historic".Date Start) OVER(PARTITION BY "Absence (Employee) - Historic".Employee Number ORDER BY "Absence (Employee) - Historic".Date Start DESC ),-24)
The item Absence Days is the number of days input against the absence by the user. This is only correct for end-dated absences. For people who have open-ended absence or those whose absence start before the period start date (Michael's date) we must work the days out. A function called WORKING_DAYS_BETWEEN achieves this. There is also another function called DAYS_BETWEEN which is all days between two days (weekends included).
The item Date Start is the absence Start Date, Date End is the Absence End date.
The whole lot is then summed by Employee number partition.
The report has lots of indicators that using mathemical equations based ont Total Absence Days. In order to use Total Absence Days in another mathematical calc I have to create a duplicate calculation except without the partition (Total_Absence_Days in this case). If don't and simply insert the name of the calc into another calculation I get this error when running the report.
    Image: !http://www.aerographicsuk.com/Invalid%20Identifier.jpg!
When creating another mathematical calc I then have to do the Sum partition around it. This makes the report run really slow because i'm typing lots of large formulae every time i build a calc that refers to Total Absence Days.
Is there a way I can create the total absence days calculation with out causing this error? I have thought about breaking it up into several calculations but am wondering if i'll get the same error message.
Below is an example of a calculation that tries to use Total Absence Days:
    GREATEST("Full Pay Entitlement (Days)"-SUM(Total_Absence_Days) OVER(PARTITION BY "Absence (Employee) - Historic".Employee Number ORDER BY "Absence (Employee) - Historic".Employee Number ),0)
Kranthi, I can only paste in the Oracle SQL, which isn't real SQL. There are lots of other calcs though, so they'll probably be a lot there. Please let me know if you'd like to see it.
Many Thanks for your help with this,

  • Why does the PC lockup when using a 6071E with an ASUS P5ND2-SLI motherboard?

    Problem Summary:
PC locks up to a point that will not allow keyboard control.  Sometimes the system reboots itself.  This code works on Win2000 systems and XP systems with a different motherboard.  I have the Hyperthreading disabled.  I have also tried switching PCI slots to use different IRQ’s.
Code: Code crashes right after last line function: GPCTR_Control().  No errors reported.

    Brian,
This problem is a little hard to pinpoint.  When you
say this code works on a Windows 2000 and Windows XP machine do you run it with
the exact same card, or with another DAQ card?  From the code you provided
it looks like you are using the device to generate a pulse train.  Are you
able to run any other code that generates a pulse train?  You might try
    the code located here:
    http://sine.ni.com/apps/we/niepd_web_display.display_epd4?p_guid=B45EACE3DFFB56A4E034080020E74861&p_node=201235
Are you able to perform other types of operations with this device, perhaps
analog input?  If you only use Measurement and Automation Explorer (MAX)
to create a pulse train, does your computer freeze?  You can test the analog
input and pulse train generation through MAX by expanding Devices and
Interfaces >> Traditional NI-DAQ and selecting your device.  Next
select Test Panels and either Analog Input or Counter I/O.  What version
of Traditional DAQ are you running?  If it is an older version, does upgrading
    your driver help?
Finally, if you still have DAQmx installed (or if you can install it) can you
generate a pulse train in test panels?

  • Developing application for usb6211 without having device

    Hi
    1.  Is there a way to install the drivers for a usb-6211 without actually connecting one to the bus?  I've just gotten a new computer and installed a copy of LV 8.2.1 on it.  My vi's (that include daqmx code)  do not compile because iLV's looking for daq stuff.  IThe install included installing daqmx8.5.  Is there something else that I have to do?
    2.  Is there a way to simulate a usb-6211 so that I can develop code for one without actually having one connected to the bus?
    3.  Why don't any of the multifunction usb cards have watchdog timer, and how can I make it safer to operate a pump (that is make the pump turn off) when the software or hardware goes south (or even if the program is exited normally)?  I'm looking for a tricky work-around if this is at all possible.
    Thanks
    LV 8.6 on Windoze XP

    Answer for #2:- Yes
    Start MAX
    Right click Devices and Interfaces
    Select Create New
Double click on NI DAQmx Simulated Devives
Expand the M Series DAQ tree
    Choose USB-6211
I do not know what functionality it exposes for the simulated card.

  • Aggregate functions not working on SQL Server source datetime2 column

I can happily replicate data from a SQL Server 2008 R2 source table, datetime2(7) to an Oracle 11g Release 2 target table, TIMESTAMP column:
I create a new temporary interface, right-click on the datetme2 source column, Add Column to Target Table and the data is replicated into an ORACLE TIMESTAMP.
But if I change the mapping to MIN(<source column>) or MAX(<source column>) then the interface doesn't fail, but my target table is simply empty.
I noticed that in my ODI (version 11.1.1) doesn't have datetime2 listed as a Microsoft SQL Server Datatype, so I'm trying to solve the problem by creating and using such a datatype but no joy so far.
Has anyone got any advice / experience on this?

The 10.1.3.0 versions of JDeveloper contain our early preview of EJB 3.0 JPA functionality. One limitation is that the query language is not complete (released before the spec was finalized).
You can use TopLink Essentials (JPA Reference implementation) whihc contains a complete compliant implementation of the final specification.

The 10.1.3.1 JDeveloper preview ships with TopLink Essentials.

  • Hamamatsu Video Capture Library

    Hi,
I have a Hamamatsu Digital Camera (Orca C11440-10C) and a PCI Express frame grabber (X64 Xcelera-CL PX4) and I am trying to control image acquisition through LabVIEW.
I have downloaded and installed the Hamamatsu Video Capture Library (http://sales.hamamatsu.com/index.php?id=13200492) but have no idea how to get it up and running. Running the sample functions (e.g. camerainformation.vi) causes LabVIEW to crash. I think the problem could be that I haven’t specified the location of the camera. Do I need to do this or should the initialise_camera.vi sub-vi recognise it automatically? Here I should point out that the camera is connected properly and runs perfectly fine through the software that came with the camera (HCImage). Also, it is visible in MAX in the ‘Serial & Parallel’ section. See attached for screen snap-shot.
I am relatively new to LabVIEW but any advice would be great!

    Hello,
Well your camera is a Camera Link model, this interface as a serial port built in, that's what you can see in MAX.
But this serial interface is only for sending settings to your camera.
In order to interface your camera with LabVIEW, you will need to access you framegrabber.
Either with the set of functions provided by Hamamatsu, or, we can provide a library to do it, see here: http://www.alliancevision.eu/products/softwares-drivers/drivers/112
