  • 9i forms_mdi_window maximize doesn't truly maximize Applett window

    When I start a 9i Form it pops up in a separate Applett window, and then the form does a:
    set_window_property(FORMS_MDI_WINDOW,WINDOW_STATE, MAXIMIZE);
    However, this does not exactly maximize the Applett window. It just makes it as big as the whole desktop, which incidentally extends the status bar below the Task Bar/Start Menu on the MS Windows desktop.
    Manually pressing the maximize button on the MDI windows is, however, able to do a maximize. However, setting it programmatically does not work the same as under 6i (which did it correctly).
    Is there a way to actually make it maximize the MDI window programmatically?
    Sincerely,
    Jesper Vad Kristensen
    Aarhus, Denmark.

    I think I have a slightly different problem
    I can still see the staus bar and message bar and the browser window does not obsure the windows task bar.
    The forms window within the java applet does not maximise as it used to in 6i client server.
    Previously the minimise/restore/close buttons were directly under the main runtime window (is that the MDI window?)
    Now there is an extra window bar underneath the menu and toolbar canvas. It is maximised but doesn't integrate itself into the MDI window as previously.

  • How to maximize the java applet?

    Dear all,
    I have an application & when ever i run it, the java applet never comes in a maximum size. so is there a way to make it run in a maximum size?
    best regards,
    Ashraf

    so but htese two lines in the new_form_instancse trigger
    SET_WINDOW_PROPERTY(FORMS_MDI_WINDOW,WINDOW_STATE,MAXIMIZE);
              SET_WINDOW_PROPERTY('WINDOW1',WINDOW_STATE,MAXIMIZE);
    good luck

  • Applet's minimize and maximize events.

    Hi,
    I need to get capture an applet's minimize and maximize events. Is it possible.
    Thanks in advance.
    gLim

    Try to listen to the event of the frame that is the parent of the applet.
    Object parent = this.getParent();
    while (!(parent instanceof Frame))
         parent = ((Component)parent).getParent();

  • Maximize the applet window

    Hi all. I'm on devsuite 10g. I'm running my form with separateframe=true. I would know if there is something that I can do to maximize the applet window, in which there is my form.
    In the formweb.cfg file I have modified the parameters as follow:
    width=100%
    height=100%
    but the window in which there is the form (probably the applet window) is not maximized.
    Here is the code of my when-window-activated trigger:
    Set_Window_Property(FORMS_MDI_WINDOW, WINDOW_STATE, MAXIMIZE);
    Set_Window_Property('WINDOW1', WINDOW_STATE, MAXIMIZE);
    Set_Window_Property('WINDOW2', WINDOW_STATE, MAXIMIZE);
    Set_Window_Property('WINDOW3', WINDOW_STATE, MAXIMIZE);
    So what can I do???
    Thanks all for the collaboration,
    Fabrizio

    try making width=100%
    height=100% in formsweb.cfg

  • Java APPLET minimize and maximize button

    im using java 1.3 and ie4.0 or ie5.5, i would like to know if there is any way i could remove or at least disable the minimize and maximize button for the APPPLET window for the toolbar..i tried using setResizable(false) but it doesnt work..well if i tried it in the appletviewer , it actually worlks for the maximize button(it disables the maximize button), but if i try it in the browser, it doesnt work at all... please help
    thank you

    At least on Linux, JDialog's don't have a resize functionality. So you could do the thing you want to do with a JDialog (or maybe plain java.awt.Dialog), and everything will be fine!

  • JLable components not being displayed in the panel of the applet

    I am having the problem with the display of the JLabel components in the Panel component of the Applet.
    The JLabel components do not appear in the Panel of the applet unless i minimize or maximize the applet.

    hello...
    i just had the same problem... it was solved by using the .updateUI() method.
    in my case several textFields were dynamically added to a jpanel, there we called the method on that panel.
    ptf.updateUI();
    hope it works.

  • JLabel components not being displayed on the content Panel in Applet

    Hi everyone!!
    Plz give a solution to the following problem:
    I have an applet in which i have JPanel component and on that component i am adding a lot of JLabel components but the problem is that the JLabel components are not displayed on the applet unless i minimize or maximize the applet.
    kindly give solution to the problem.
    Thanks

    Howdy,
    code would be helpful. Here is a very simple JApplet that displays labels okay here in appletviewer. You talk of applets and JLabels. I assume you are using JApplets.
    import javax.swing.*;
    import java.applet.*;
    import java.awt.*;
    public class AppletPie extends JApplet {
         public void init() {
              Container cp = getContentPane();
              cp.setLayout(new FlowLayout());
              cp.add(new JLabel("Show"));
              cp.add(new JLabel("up"));
              cp.add(new JLabel("you"));
              cp.add(new JLabel("dumb"));
              cp.add(new JLabel("labels"));
    }Perhaps something in this code will help you to solve your problem.
    regards

  • Applet working on JBuilder but not on appletviewer!!!!!

    I ve made a keybord.Here some buttons are missing. The user presses the buttons and shapes a word!When the jButton22 is pressed(Comparison button) the applet tells him if the result is true or false and displays an image(imageIcon foruser in jlabel forusers) with the correct result!!The jlabel for users is setVisible(false) and setVisible(true) when the comparison button is pressed and the result is wrong.My problem is that the jlabel works fine in JBuilder but when i run the applet in appletviewer the jlabel forusers isnt showing!!If i minimize and maximize the window then the label appears and from that point is working properly!Any suggestions would be appreciated!Thank you!!

    I performed some testing on your program, and get an ArrayIndexOutOfBoundsException on one of the buttons. So, I guess there have to be some implementation logic error.
    Since I have no idea what your program is trying to achieve, here's what you can do:
    1. Try to shorten your program.
    2. Add your code piece by piece.
    3. Perform some logic testing.
    4. Repeat steps 2 & 3.

  • Status bar of Oracle from runtime applet is not displaying all of a sudden

    Hello,
    The status bar of Oracle form runtime applet is not displaying all of a sudden..It was displaying before but now its not......It helps me to see errors......how can I restore it?

    My console was set to a specific window name..it was not null at all....but the status bar wont show...
    But I solved it ...by changing the applet size...
    Applet container size is controlled by the HEIGHT and WIDTH parameters in the formsweb.cfg. To maximize the applet area to the size of the browser, do the following:
    HEIGHT=100%
    WIDTH=100%
    Thank you all for your help and support...

  • How do you automatically maximize the active video when it changes...

    Hey guys,
    I'm looking for a way to automatically maximize the next video in queue when viewing videos online. The specific example I am looking for is here: NHL.com
    As you'll see, when the next video in line plays the screen minimizes to regular size. Note that I have an ad-remover so that ad doesn't come up... I'm looking for a way to automatically maximize the video screen when the next video plays (and thus minimizes).
    Macros would work but it would be hard to time it and to make it work across a large spectrum of sites. I'm looking for something that more or less detects video applets (automatically or through inputted settings) and automatically full screens it when available...
    Thanks!

    So we can design robots that can guide weapons launched from thousands of miles away into a specific window of our choosing, but no one has designed a solution for this?

  • Applet won't load, packet missing data?

    I know this basic question gets asked a lot, but I have debug info!
    Here's the setup:
    - Simple HelloWorld applet on a Slax Linux system, Apache2 server
    - Clients are win 2000 and win 98 machines, IE and Firefox
    html code:
    <html>
    <body>
    <center>
    <h1> Applet Test 6 </h1>
    <applet code="helloapp" width="320" height="320" codebase="."></applet>
    </center>
    </body>
    </html>applet code:
    import javax.swing.JApplet;
    import java.awt.Graphics;
    public class helloapp extends JAppplet
       public void paint(Graphics g)
          g.drawRect(0,0,getSize().width-1,getSize().height-1);
          g.drawString("helllo",5,15);
    }What happens:
    - applet runs fine in appletviewer
    - type in <ipadr>/Hello.html on win PC
    - the html loads, waits for between a few seconds to tens of seconds
    - get applet notinited error
    - on the win 98 machine the Java applet loading logo shows up briefly
    - end up with the dreaded box with 'X'
    - I did get it to work the other day after adding 'classpath="."' to the <applet> code, but that doesn't seem to help now. class and html are in the same directory.
    - I have tried class="helloapp" and class="helloapp.class" in the <applet> code
    Debug info:
    - Java console says helloapp.class not found, and sometimes an EOF error
    - packet sniffer shows (leaving out, ACKs, SYNs) (pc -> linux) :
    -> request fro html
    <- html code delivered
    -> request for helloapp.class
    <- deliver helloapp.class (SEE NOTE BELOW)
    -> rerequest helloapp.class
    <- redeliver (SEE NOTE)
    -> finally sends RST flag
    NOTE: these packet looks right except I don't see any data. It's 372 bytes long but it says it has a content of 532 bytes of data:

    Questions:
    - Am I right in not seeing data (the applet code) in the packet above - it should be there right?
    - Could something in the Apache configuration prevent it from sending the applet data? I did set the permissions in the configuration file.
    - Any other way to debug this?
    - The fact it worked the other day and not now is perplexing. The linux I am running is a live version, so I have to reconfigure each time I start it. I have to think the problem is there as that is the only thing that has changed since the other day....

    Here's a partial answer. I found that if the data load in the packet was over 256 bytes, it would fail. I a able to create an empty applet of 192 bytes that would load. I figured out the 256 byte number using wget and some text files. So I guess it's not an applet problem, but maybe an Apache problem.

  • MAXIMIZE WINDOW DOES NOT WORK IN FORMS 9i

    Hi,
    I am performing forms conversion and developing new forms in Forms 9i. The problem I am running into is that :
    the SET_WINDOW_PROPERTY(FORMS_MDI_WINDOW, WINDOW_STATE, MAXIMIZE)
    and SET_WINDOW_PROPERTY(ROOT_WINDOW, WINDOW_STATE, MAXIMIZE)
    in the When_new_form_instance trigger don't work.
    I've also tried adding a parameter to initiate the running mode as WEB as suggested in a response that I saw on this
    forum, with that parameter I would set the ROOT_WINDOW State to NORMAL
    then set WIDHT=800, HEIGHT=600, POSITION=0, 24.........
    but it still does not work. When I run the form, the browser opens up as a full screen, but the form only fills up the gray rectangular
    area when the Jiniator is running and loading the applet.
    If I don't set the Maximize property of the main window to Yes then the vertical and horizontal scroll bars are automatically added,
    if I do set so then no scroll bar is added and the form is cut off.
    Is it a known problem ? and is there a solution to it?
    Any response is greatly appreciated.
    Thanks.
    TLe

    Thanks, it worked, and I've been playing with other parameters, such as replacing the lookandfeel (this works), but splashscreen and background don't when I specified the .GIF file name, it did not display the GIF image.
    Thanks again.

  • Maximizing a frame or applet window

    When you set the size of an applet using the setSize(int, int) method in a frame window or specify the width and height in an applet's tag or comment in the source code, the applet or application window is always in the "Restored" state (meaning it can be resized). However, how can I maximize the window to make it automatically fill the screen? Similarly, what if I want to minimize the window? And furthermore, if the user maximizes or minimizes the window and in the source code I try to resize it, will I get a runtime error or will it change the window to the restored state?

  • Windowck-plugin - port of "Window Applets" for Xfce panel

    I'm releasing a new version of  windowck-plugin in collaboration with the original author Alessio Piccoli. Part of this code is based on GNOME Window Applets from  Andrej Belcijan.
    It's main features are:
    - Show the title and buttons of the maximized window on the panel.
    - Allow window actions on buttons and title clicks (activate, (un)maximize, close).
    - Allow window action menu on left button click.
    - Title formatting options.
    - xfwm4/unity theming support for buttons.
    website: http://goodies.xfce.org/projects/panel- … wck-plugin
    Code is available here: https://github.com/cedl38/xfce4-windowck-plugin
    windowck-plugin AUR Page: https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/xfce … ck-plugin/
    In addition I've made a patch for xfwm4 based on Viktor Semykin work.
    AUR packages: xfwm4-titleless+ and xfwm4-titleless-dev (devel version).
    Fell free to leave your feedback in this thread. Enjoy!

    I’ve sumitted patches for this on bugzilla topic "Undecorate on maximize"
    nierro wrote:@cedricl: will your xfwm4 patch be accepted upstream, and becoming part of xfwm4.12?
    I really hope so.
    I don’t know what is the process for adding new features  to xfce but there is probably a discution between maintainers before.
    For now, I'll start follow the users feedback and fix issues. If there is enough interest and it follow project goals maybe it'll be integrated to xfce...
