Maximize window state from within portlet faces hyperlink?

Does anyone know how to implement/force window state from a hyperlink? I want to maximize the portlet window when any hyperlink is clicked from within the default view mode. The javax portlet api tags allow you to set this attribute like <portlet:actionURL windowState="maximized"/>. Is there a similar way to do this from within Creator's use of jsf? Or, am I going to have to do this within the class files? Thanks much

Yes, does anyone know how to maximize a portlet? Thanks.

  • Changing states from within a component

    Let's say that I have a TileList that is rendering data in a
    VBox. Eventually the TileList fills up and starts scrolling. I want
    to change states when clicking on item in the TileList.
    I don't want to place the click-attribute in the TileList,
    because it will change states when I am scrolling the list without
    actually selecting anything.
    I want to say click="currentState='state2'" inside the VBox,
    but that does not work because state2 is at the root level, and I
    don't know how to get to the root-level (in lack of a better word)
    from withing the component.
    This is not the proper syntax, so misunderstand me the right
    way here... Is there an equivallence to
    click="currentState='_root.state2'" in mxml?
    Thanks for any suggestions or best practices. I want the easy
    way out.
    This is the general structure...
    <mx:Application>
    <mx:states>
    <mx:State id="state1"/>
    <mx:State id="state2"/>
    <mx:State id="state3"/>
    </mx:states>
    <mx:TileList dataprovider="{...}">
    <mx:itemRenderer>
    <mx:component>
    <mx:VBox id="ClickThisBoxToChangeStates">
    <mx:Image/>
    <mx:Label/>
    </mx:Vbox>
    </mx:component>
    </mx:itemRenderer>
    </mx:TileList>
    </mx:Application>

    Your assumption is right.
    It doesn't work because there is no state2-state defined
    within the mx:component.
    In the documentation about changing states it says that I can
    go from application level and change states within a component;
    like this: click="currentState='mycomponent.anotherstate'" but not
    how I can change a state at application level from within a state.
    When I try, it says (at runtime) that the state is not defined.
    So I don't know why <mx:VBox
    click="currentState='state2'"/> doesn't work.
    I apprechiate your expertese a lot.

  • Encountering transaction statement from within a PL/SQL block

    Hi All,
    i would like to know what will be the transaction status if we use an commit or a rollback statement inside a PL/SQL procedure called from within an PL/SQL package.
    For example
    BEGIN
    select statement
    insert statement 1
    .... call to <xyz> procedure
    end;
    xyz procedure
    insert statement 2
    commit/rollback
    end of procedure
    will the insert statement 1 be commited/rollbacked when the session encounters the transaction statement inside the procedure.

    Welcome to the forum!
    Unless the procedure xyz is an autonomous transaction, then yes Insert statement 1 will be committed.

  • Calling User Preference event from within portlet

    Not sure if anybody else has looked at this but we are in the process of rolling out a new G6 Portal and on a number of portlets want to take advantage of the ability to turn off the portlet header. However in doing so you loose access to the inbuilt support for providing access to the User Preference, if one has been defined as part of the portlet definition. This is relevant on a number of portelts that we want to migrate to the new G6 portal.
    So rather than try and re-invent this from scratch using a different 'link' in the portlet itself we were wondering if you can 'call' the inbuilt user preference functionality from within the portlet code. i.e. When a user clicks on the link within the portlet it performs exactly the same action and interaction within the portal as if they clicked on the User Preference icon in the portlet header.
    We have had a look around to see if this is possible but not come up with anything yet so thought we would seek comments from this forum.
    Many thanks in advance,

    Hey Ross,
    I just realized I have to do the same thing on a very limited scale (3-5 portlets).
    SO I just wrote a little bit of (shoddy) code to show community preferences based on group membership.
    It works for me, but I get the feeling your looking for something like communityactionsdata geared toward portlets, which unfortunately I dont think exists. If you put it in as an enhancement request then support will contact you to discuss your options.
    Here is the code that I'm using for now:
    <pt:standard.choose>
    <pt:standard.when pt:test="stringToACLGroup('group=1,755,760;').isMember($currentuser)">
    <immg border="0" src="htttp://localhost/imageserver/plumtree/portal/public/img/action_portlet_edit.gif">
    </pt:standard.when>
    </pt:standard.choose>
    The only problem is that the preferences submit button refreshes the popup to the portal. So I might need to tweak that a hair so it just closes the popup.

    Does anyone know how to view a cataloged file location WITHIN  organizer Elements 10 by where the orgainzer opens up the file location in Windows Explorer (Not windows IE Explorer browser).  I know you can see the file path in the properties pane but I swear some how I clicked on a file once and Explorer opened up in organizer 10 showing the location in the file tree on the hard disk. I am using Widows 7 Home preminum with all updates.   Am I crazy?  Thanks.

      If you want to see the folder tree click the display button (near top right of Organizer) and switch to Folder Location View.

  • Ensure jsp/pageflow called from within portlet

    Is there anyway to ensure that my jsp is called within a portlet. I want to make sure a user can't call the jsp page directly therefore bypassing the entitlements I have created on the portlet.

    You should be having login procedure to access your site, one way to protect your pageflow is setting login-required=true for page-flow, and setting role based security to your page-flow. Read this

  • Is it possible to link to specific files on a server from within a pdf?

    Hi all,
    Is it possible to create hyperlinks to a specific file on a Windows server from within a pdf?
    Let me explain further, I am working on a Mac trying to create hyperlinks from within InDesign to specific files on a Windows server. I am exporting the file to pdf, along with the hyperlinks, which look correct when I click on them from within Acrobat.
    On Windows, the links will read as \\servername\directoryname\filename so this is exactly how I enter it as the hyperlink. When I view the hyperlink information in the resulting pdf from within Acrobat, it still looks correct as \\servername\directoryname\filename but when I try to click on it from the Windows side OR the Mac side, the link doesn't work and gets changed....the slashes revert to the opposite direction and the whole link gets messed up. I am trying to figure out if the cause is InDesign, Acrobat or whether this can even be done? Of corse, I never have issues with normal URLS.
    What we are trying to do is set up an internal catalogue for the company of all our materials. (Everyone works on Windows)
    Should I try to create the links from within a Windows version of Acrobat... do you think that will make any difference?
    Thanks in advance for your help:)
    Very much appreciated!
    Christine

    Thank you for your help...very much appreciated!
    Basically, what we needed were for the links to be static and not relative, and they were mainly for Windows users. What finally worked was creating the links from within a Windows version of Acrobat. We plan to email the final pdf to several employees around the word (we are an international company) with all the links intact. Once they were logged into our network (vpn'd in) the links would still be valid no matter where the document was located. The trick is to change the start of the link to a specific IP address (the server address) when you are setting it up in Acrobat. I hope this makes sense and is helpful for everyone else out there:)
    (P.S. This works for Windows users only though and cannot be done via the Mac version of Acrobat. I can set things up within the Mac version of Acrobat so that the links will work as long as the document resides in the same location on the server... the advantage to doing it THIS way is that it will work for BOTH Mac and Windows users.)
    Thanks again,
    Christine

  • Is it possible to change application state from a component?

    I was wondering if it is possible to change application state from within a custom component and if so, what would the syntax be if I had an application named "zzz" and I wanted to change the app state from "state1" to "state2" from my component?
    Thanks!

    Hi,
    you always have a static class Application.
    Application.application will be the root component. After that you can change it state.
    Application.application.currentState = "state2";
    But it's not the best way to change states. It's better to dispatch events from components and change states in listeners.

  • Using System.err.println() from within the classes of WAS ?

    hi,
    I am using admin.jar,a jar file which is being used by Web Application Server in my own class.
    I am referencing some of the classes from admin.jar from my class.
    I tried to print some trace statements,using System.err.println() from within the classes in admin.jar but they did not reflect in defaulttrace0.trc.
    I made these changes in the admin.jar being used by WAS.
    I restarted the server and even restarted the machine but without success.
    I want to know how to print System.out.println() statements from within the classes in admin.jar.
    Also, am i looking for these statements in the right file for eg. defaulttrace0.trc. or is it some other file that i need to look into.
    I need urgent help on this.
    Reward points assured.
    thanks a lot.

    for eg. temp.delete in it deploy method.Buth that line still executed.
    I m totally lost as to wht to do.
    I m trying to create a datasource from my application in WAS.For that i m using the WAS APIs.But its not working completely.
    I am using the above jar and its method createdatasource.
    I am callin it from my application's class.
    It creates a datasource and i can see it in JDBC Connector list in Visual Administrator.But it appears with red sign meaning its not started.When i start it from the tool then it starts.
    But in defaulttrace.trc file it shows an error "FileNotFindException". This happens,and i am very much sure, in the deploy() of DataSourceManagerImpl.java class of sapj2eenginedeploy.jar.
    i want to apply println inside this method so i may know where exactly i ma getting the error and get so more info so i may solve my problem.

  • Make an update statement from a proc

    That is, how is possible to call an update statement from
    within a procedure?
    I have tried
    execute update TT_Livraison set ...
    without success.
    Any idea?

    In a procedure, you just include the SQL statement
    CREATE OR REPLACE PROCEDURE foo ...
    AS
    BEGIN
      UPDATE <<some table>>

  • Starting Windows App from J2EE Studio Creator App

    Hi,
    Does anyone know how to start a Windows application with arguments that is on the same windows server running the J2EE application? I'm using Studio Creator to build the application and it needs to start a Windows app to perform some tasks. The app will run in the background and exit by itself when done.
    Thanks,

    Heres an example of how I start a windows app from within a swing application, I am passing the url of the db.

  • From a PDF in a browser window - open links within in that PDF in a new window

    BACKGROUND SCENARIO:
    Users view a PDF document within their browser window (default behavior at my organization).  Key point is, the PDF isn't being viewed in an Acrobat Reader window, it's being viewed within the browser window.
    Within that PDF, are many links to intranet pages. And incidentally, this PDF happens to be a document that is updated frequently (More on this caveat in a moment)
    EDIT: The end users are end users, smart people, but not necessarily super-sophisticated computer users.
    MY QUESTION:
    When a user clicks a link within the PDF, I want the new page to open in a new window, NOT in the same window that the PDF was being viewed in.
    I've done a fair amount of homework:  The prevailing answer is to use Acrobat Pro's "LINK" feature to turn the hyperlink into a javascript command that opens the link in a new window, and to do this (a) MANUALLY, (b) ONE LINK AT A TIME, and (c) Repeat steps (a) and (b) EACH TIME the document gets updated.   (Back track now to my earlier caveat.. this is a frequently changing document with lots of links... Doing manually and repeating the whole process each time the document is updated is a lot of work.)
    I believe there are some add-on products that make this easier too.
    So my question is...  Other than add-ons, Is there another way?  a better way?  a more efficient way?  Or is there another way, on the way?
    SOMEWHAT RELATED QUESTION:  (EDIT)
    Another answer that would more or less satisfy me:  is there a way either from the calling HTML page, or from within the PDF document itself, to force the PDF to open within its own Acrobat Reader window, rather than within the browser window?  That would mostly dodge the issue, by opening linked pages in the browser anyway.
    A little extra background information: The document also uses password protection (a management requirement), which is why opening the links in the same window is such a pain.  Back-keying back to the document after viewing the link requires re-typing the document password, a noted pain.  I'd accept a fix to that particular problem too, but I don't think there is one.  Either way, the new-window question is one I'd like to solve.  (FYI, I asked the password retype question separately over in the security forum, here:  http://forums.adobe.com/message/5055162#5055162).

    You can't update the destination for a link using JavaScript, because there's no way to read the link's current action. While there is a setAction() function to create a new action on an existing link, there's no "getAction" function.
    In terms of how a PDF file opens, nothing in the document or in the HTTP headers can influence whether the file is opened in the browser or on the desktop - that's a user preference. What you can do with scripting on the server is send HTTP content-disposition headers that define the PDF file as something the user should download and save, rather than something the browser should try to open.
