Maximum amount of data
Hi,
We're planning to implement a batch/bulk refresh of some objects in our frontend
application. This refresh requires retrieval of data from the Back Office and writing
of same data to the Front Office. In line with this, what is the maximum amount
of data Tuxedo can handle per transaction?
Any help is very much appreciated...
Thanks,
rc
There's no limit, as long as it is broken up properly. Whatever you can
accomplish within the transaction timeout limit is the upper boundary.
You probably do not want to use a transaction for a bulk data load,
though.

Data type: variables of this type should hold maximum amount of data
Dear all,
In SAP we have any field like Richtext field in Lotunotes, which can hold anyamount of data, I mean it can store arbitary amount of data based on the input.
I have came across certain fileds called LCHR, but it has got a limitation. Fields of this type must be located at the end of transparent tables (in each table there can be only one such field) and must be preceded by a length field of type INT2.
But I need to know about a field which can hold maximum amount of data at a time.
Regards,
GiriHi Ramada,
starting with ECC600 and in all unicode systems the length of a character is system-dependent.
Fields of type STRING store an arbitrary amount of characters, type XSTRING stores an arbitrary amount of BYTES.
AFAIK a Notes Richtext field will hold much more: formatting, data and document type an what else.
There is nothing directly comparable in ABAP.

Photoshop can not print the maximum amount of data that can be spooled to a PostScript printer is 2G
Hi all,
This is the first time I've worked with the .psb (large format) size and I have gone to print a PDF of the file and I get the message:
"photoshop can not print this document because the document is too large. The maximum amount of data that can been spooled to a PostScript printer is 2GB".
The file itself is a 2700x1570mm 300dpi flatten .psb image that is 500mb in size.
Not sure how I can get around this, where abouts do I see the image size information that is being spooled?
Any help would be greatThere's no easy way to see the size of the image that's being spooled, but 2G limit is uncompressed, 4 bytes per pixel (either RGBX where X is a padding byte, or CMYK, depending on the image / printer), times about 1.6 because the image data is sent in ASCII85 format rather than binary.
With your image at over 100 inches at 300 dpi, you're also perilously close to the 32k limit on the pixels in any one dimension (31,900 by my calculations) that PostScript can handle.
The limits are 32767 pixels in either dimension, and 2GB of data total. The data that's sent at 4 bytes per pixel, and converted to ASCII85 so that it'll make it across any connection. ASCII85 gives about a 1.6 expansion factor, if I remember correctly.
Do you really need a 10 foot image printed at 300 dpi? If not, changing down to 200 dpi will probably let this image print. -

Hello gurus
Does anyone know what this error means? It occurs when I try to print big PDF file.
I am wondering if there is a parameter I can set in order to overcome this.
Thank you for any suggestions.Yes u can do that
go to the xml file located at C:\OracleBI\web\javahost\config
and then u can edit the xml tag

I need help having my program read in finite amounts of data at a time
I've attached my diagram. The problem(s) I am having are as follows
I need to read the data from a .txt (alternately .lvm) file 250 entries at a time. The problem with the construction I have now is that the dynamic to array buffer kind of destroys the point of segmenting the data because it reads it in all at once. In addition, I need a way of reading and writing this data so that I am not using the express VI's. Pretend my data file is say C:\data.txt and it is a single column of values approx. 5m entries long.
Further, I have set up the while loop to stop after everything has been processed, I need to set it up such that the while loop stops when all the data have been read in.
Thanks for the help.

Maximum amount of video?
When I put about 100 videos in my itunes library the program stops working. I have to delete the videos otherwise I cannot use itunes anymore (it will crash everytime when i try to start it). Does itunes have a maximum amount of data or videos it can handle? Maybe someone has some information about this.
thanx Ivo from holland!!Such a length of video will need a data rate of approximately 2MBPS if you intend to use MPEG2 at full D1 resolution. You could use MPEG1 and fit the content on the disc very easily, although visually it won't be as rich as MPEG2 at a higher rate.
Your other option is to use an encoder that can work at half D1 - which means you can use a higher data rate (if that's what you want to do) and still fit the footage onto a DVD-R.
If you are only using Compressor, have a go at using MPEG1 if you are sure that you only want to use 1 disc. Depending on the source material, you might be pleasantly surprised at the possible quality you can achieve with it. -
Amount of data has exceeded maximum limit - Infopath form
Hello, I am having a problem on O365 concerning an Infopath form.
The warning goes like this : " The amount of data that was returned by a data connection has exceeded the maximum limit that was configured by the server administrator"
Solutions exist for other version of Sharepoint/Infopath. I see in SharePoint 2013, this value is 1500 kilobytes by default
and we can increase the maximum size of that. However, in SharePoint Online, it cannot be changed.
Can you guys please help?
Thanking you in advance.
Regards,
NiteHi Nite,
You should ask this question in the Office365 forums:
http://community.office365.com/
But as this question has been asked before, it is not possible to change the limit in O365. Please see this thread:

Azure Cloud service fails when sent large amount of data
This is the error;
Exception in AZURE Call: An error occurred while receiving the HTTP response to http://xxxx.cloudapp.net/Service1.svc. This could be due to the service endpoint binding not using the HTTP protocol. This could also be due to an HTTP request context being
aborted by the server (possibly due to the service shutting down). See server logs for more details.
Calls with smaller amounts of data work fine. Large amounts of data cause this error.
How can I fix this??Go to the web.config file, look for the <binding> that is being used for your service, and adjust the various parameters that limit the maximum length of the messages, such as
maxReceivedMessageSize.
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/system.servicemodel.basichttpbinding.maxreceivedmessagesize(v=vs.100).aspx
Make sure that you specify a size that is large enough to accomodate the amount of data that you are sending (the default is 64Kb).
Note that even if you set a very large value here, you won't be able to go beyond the maximum request length that is configured in IIS. If I recall correctly, the default limit in IIS is 8 megabytes. -
Hello,
I'd like to use Berkeley DB for logging large amounts of data - i.e. structures that are ~400KB in size and I need to store them ~10 times per second for up to several hours, but I get into quite big performance issues the more records I insert into the database. I've set the pagesize to its maximum (64KB - I split my data into several packages so it doesn't get stored on an overflow page) and experimented with several chache sizes (8MB, 64MB, 2GB, 4GB), but I haven't managed to get rid of the performance issues, independent of which access method I use (although I got the "best" results when using DB_QUEUE, but that varies heavily from day to day).
To get to the point: Performance starts at "0" seconds per insert (where 1 "insert" = 7 real inserts because of splitting up the data), between the 16750. and 17000. insertion it takes ~0.00352 per insert and when reaching the 36000. insertion it already takes about 0.0074 seconds per insert, and so on ...
Does anyone have an idea on how I can increase my performance? Because when the time needed for each insertion keeps increasing over time, it's not possible to keep the program running at its intended speed at some point.
Thanks,

A good starting point are the suggestions in the Berkeley DB Reference Guide at:

Maximum amount of messages allowed
Please advise what is the maximum amount of messages allowed during the Automatic Message Propagation in Intranet applications.
Are you sure this is a report, and not an extract? If it's an extract there are better tools to use for the job. (SSIS perhaps?)
If you must run it through SSRS, you'll need to shrink your columns widths down to 454.5 / Number of Columns.
It might be worth considering displaying the data the other way, too. -
Capturing a set amount of data point.
Hello,
I am using LabVIEW v7.5 for a project I am currently working on and am recording signals from 6 physical channels. I have a couple of questions about the write to spreadsheet VI. First, when I write to a spreadsheet, transpose it, then open it in excel or another spreadsheet application, do the columns correspond to the channel that the data came from? Second, I was wondering if there is a way that I can specify the VI to record a set amount of data. Since EXCEL can only plot a maximum of 32,000 data points I would like to sset the VI to only record that many data points so I don't have to manually delete them when I would like to plot them. Lastly, this is something I have been curious about for a while, is there any way that I can append a header to the columns without manually adding it after opening the data in EXCEL. I will appreciate any comments or feedback
thanks so much,

MessageExpired because of large amount of data
Hi Experts, i need some advice for my following scenario.
I have a 50000 data that need to be inserted into SAP R3 HR. I am using BPM when calling the RFC dan using a sync message to get the response from the RFC. However, i think because of the large amount of data, i get the error "MessageExpired" in my monitoring.
After i read some documentation, i find that a sync message has a timeout period (xiadapter.inbound.timeout.default = 180000 [ms] ) . My question is, if the 180000ms is not enough for the RFC to process the whole 50000 data, i can increase the timeout time, am i right? But then, to what maximum value will be the most appropriate for me to set the timeout value so that it will not effect the performance of XI. Anyway, does increasing the timeout value effect anything at all?
Need the advice and inputs from you experts...Thank you so much in advance...Made,
I posted this answer to a similar request a couple of weeks ago
I had a similar issue some time back and used the following three parameters
1. Visual Administrator
SAP XI Adapter: RFC parameter syncMessageDeliveryTimeoutMsec
This parameter is explained in SAP Note 730870 Q14 and SAP Note 791379
2. Alert Configuration
SA_COMM parameter CHECK_FOR_ASYNC_RESPONSE_TIMEOUT
This parameter specifies the maximum time in seconds that can pass between the arrival of the synchronous request message on the Integration Server and the asynchronous response message. If this time period is exceeded, a system error is returned to the caller.
3. Integration Process TimeoutControlStep
My design is such that timeout parameter 3 which is set in the Integration Process will be triggered first. This will give me control to handle the timeout via an SMTP email prior to either of the other timeouts taking effect

Maximum Amount/Defult Value as per the company in Travel Exp Type
Hi Experts,
I want to maintain the Maximum amounts/Default values as per the company code in Travel Expense Types. Can any please suggest me whether is this possible if yes how.
Thanks
Srinivas
Edited by: SrinivasFICO2010 on Jun 23, 2010 11:38 AMHi Srinivas,
Follow the below path:
SAP Customizing Implementation Guide > Financial Accounting (New) > Travel Management > Travel Expenses > Master Data > Travel Expense Types > Define Maximum Rates and Default Values for Expense Types.
Maintain your rates here per expense types.
Note that you cannot maintain per company code here, you have to maintain per Trip Provision Variant. In Travel Management, most of the settings are per trip provision variant and not per company code.
Hope this helps.

Copying large amount of data from one table to another getting slower
I have a process that copies data from one table (big_tbl) into a very big archive table (vb_archive_tbl - 30 mil recs - partitioned table). If there are less than 1 million records in the big_tbl the copy to the vb_archive_table is fast (-10 min), but more importantly - it's consistant. However, if the number of records is greater than 1 million records in the big_tbl copying the data into the vb_archive_tbl is very slow (+30 min - 4 hours), and very inconsistant. Every few days the time it takes to copy the same amount of data grows signicantly.
Here's an example of the code I'm using, which uses BULK COLLECT and FORALL INSERST to copy the data.
I occasionally change 'LIMIT 5000' to see performance differences.
DECLARE
TYPE t_rec_type IS RECORD (fact_id NUMBER(12,0),
store_id VARCHAR2(10),
product_id VARCHAR2(20));
TYPE CFF_TYPE IS TABLE OF t_rec_type
INDEX BY BINARY_INTEGER;
T_CFF CFF_TYPE;
CURSOR c_cff IS SELECT *
FROM big_tbl;
BEGIN
OPEN c_cff;
LOOP
FETCH c_cff BULK COLLECT INTO T_CFF LIMIT 5000;
FORALL i IN T_CFF.first..T_CFF.last
INSERT INTO vb_archive_tbl
VALUES T_CFF(i);
COMMIT;
EXIT WHEN c_cff%NOTFOUND;
END LOOP;
CLOSE c_cff;
END;
Thanks you very much for any advice
Edited by: reid on Sep 11, 2008 5:23 PMAssuming that there is nothing else in the code that forces you to use PL/SQL for processing, I'll second Tubby's comment that this would be better done in SQL. Depending on the logic and partitioning approach for the archive table, you may be better off doing a direct-path load into a staging table and then doing a partition exchange to load the staging table into the partitioned table. Ideally, you could just move big_tbl into the vb_archive_tbl with a single partition exchange operation.
That said, if there is a need for PL/SQL, have you traced the session to see what is causing the slowness? Is the query plan different? If the number of rows in the table is really a trigger, I would tend to suspect that the number of rows is causing the optimizer to choose a different plan (with your sample code, the plan is obvious, but perhaps you omitted some where clauses to simplify things down) which may be rather poor.
