MAXIMUM DATABASE SIZE SUPPORTED BY DERBY

Hi,
What is the maximum database size that Derby supports?
Currently for our application, Oracle is used. We are planning to switch to Derby.
Any Suggestions??

  • Maximum database size Exchange 2013 Standard

    Hi,
    Does anybody is aware of database size limitation for Exchange 2013 Standard. I remember in older version there was a registry tweak to increase database limits.
    Thank you

    Hi,
    This is the official answer :
    Supported: Approximately 16 terabytes.
    Best practice:
    2 terabytes or less.
    Provision for 120 percent of calculated maximum database size.

  • Maximum Database size in exchange 2007

    Hi Team,<o:p></o:p>
    What is the maximum database size we can have in Exchange server 2007 SP3 RU8 standalone server.<o:p></o:p>
    In our environment we have 1800 users hosted on the
    exchange 2007 server with DB size(EDB file) of 1.61TB. What is the maximum size it can grow upto. Any response appreciated.
    Thanks<o:p></o:p>
    Srini<o:p></o:p>

    Amit just beat me to posting Harold Wong's article! :-) Since you're currently on 1.61TB the artificial limit has already been adjust via the registry setting mentioned (the article mentioned 50GB though I've seen others mention 250GB). So the maximum limit
    is 16TB, but whoever adjusted things to allow your current size may have set the artificial limit as something smaller, so you'd want to check the registry to see what it has been set to in your case.
    I'd also echo the comments about database size. Depending on how you handle backups then they may also play a part. Since most backups work on the basis of backing up / restoring the entire database (obviously backing up changes rather than the whole thing
    each time), then the event of you needing to restore it's much easier if you have smaller databases to deal with. Splitting your mailboxes across multiple stores will help minimise the time required before you can get some users online again in the case of
    a total failure. Also, if you split your mailboxes across 5 databases and then have a problem (for instance corruption) on one of them, then only around 1/5 of your users are effected rather than all of them.

  • Is their a maximum database size for DB2?

    Hello,
    we got a request from our business to install a new bw system on DB2 V8.2/V9 with an estimated end size of 100 Terabyte. I know, we have to ask our hardware partner, for sizing and this will include, partitioning,... But the first question from my side is "Is their a maximum size for a db2 database installed on aix?" Has anybody experience with such a huge database. At the moment our biggest database is about 1,4 Terabyte.
    Regards,
    Alexander

    Hi Alexander,
    A 100TB size sounds ambitious ... any thoughts to when the system will have that size ? It will also be interesting to understand if it's a OLTP or OLAP system.
    There is a "theoritical" technical limit on the total size of a database, but that's really beyond reason. Here is how it goes:
    A regular tablespace can be no larger than 512GB per DPF partition. A large tablespace can be no larger than 16TB per DPF partition. You can have 32767 tablespaces in a database. You can have up to 999 DPF partitions in a partitioned database server.
    Coming from that the current technical limit is:
    Non-partitioned database server: 16TB x 32767 tablespaces
    Partitioned database server: 16TB x 32767 tablespaces x 999 partitions.

    Torsten

  • Maximum SSD size supported in Protege z830

    I own a Portege Z830-P360 it has a stock SSD 128GB.  I want to upgrade it to 500 GB SDD.  The laptop support this SDD size ? What is SSD recommended for this ultrabook and features.

    Portege Z830-P360
    Maybe this one?

    In any case, a 512 GB SATA SSD should work just fine. (I have one on this computer.)

  • Maximum DB Size?

    Mark, hello;
    can you please provide some kind of formula to estimate BDB JE limits?
    maximum database size?
    maximum number or records?
    maximum record size?
    maximum key size?
    thank you!
    Andrei.

    Hi,
    I'm trying to read between the lines and have concluded that you're using key ranges instead of databases, because you can't create enough databases in total over the lifetime of your app. Correct?
    Would support for 2^63 databases solve your problem? Not promising anything, just curious.
    An optimized range deletion is a nice thing, and we should probably do it in the future. But because of JE's architecture I don't think it will ever be nearly as fast as a Database removal or truncation, which is already optimized.

  • Best practice on mailbox database size & we need how many server for deployment exchange server 2013

    Dear all,
    We have  an server that runs Microsoft exchange server 2007 with the following specification:
    4 servers: Hub&CAS1 & Hub&CAS2 & Mailbox1 & Mailbox2
    Operating System : Microsoft Windows Server 2003 R2 Enterprise x64
    6 mailbox databases
    1500 Mailboxes
    We need to upgrade our exchange server from 2007 to 2013 to fulfill the following requirment:
    I want to upgrade the exchange server 2007 to exchange server 2013 and implement the following details:
    1500 mailboxes
    10GB or 15GB mailbox quota for each user
    How many
    servers and databases  are
    required for this migration<ins cite="mailto:Mohammad%20Ashouri" datetime="2014-05-18T22:41"></ins>?
    Number of the servers:
    Number of the databases:
    Size of each database:
    Many thanks.

    You will also need to check server role requirement in exchange 2013. Please go through this link to calculate the server role requirement : http://blogs.technet.com/b/exchange/archive/2013/05/14/released-exchange-2013-server-role-requirements-calculator.aspx
    2TB is recommended maximum database size for Exchange 2013 databases.
    Here is the complete checklist to upgrade from exchange 2007 to 2013 : http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff805032%28v=exchg.150%29.aspx
    Meanwhile, to reduce the risks and time consumed during the completion of migration process, you can have a look at this proficient application(http://www.exchangemigrationtool.com/) that would also be
    a good approach for 1500 users. It will help you to ensure the data security during the migration between exchange 2007 and 2013.

  • Database is approaching its maximum allowable size ?

    I have just for this alert within the CSA MC V5.1.0.79
    The 'Management Center for Cisco Security Agents V5.1' database is approaching its maximum allowable size. Please purge old data.
    I have look at the 'Database Mainteance' and I can see the following
    Database size: 1273 MB
    Event and configuration data size: 1142 MB
    Application Deployment data size: 0 MB
    Unallocated space: 114 MB
    Free disk space: 29586 MB
    Recommendations: none.
    Database csaanalysis51 (behavior analysis data) [connection parameters]
    Database size: 1 MB
    Unallocated space: 0 MB
    Free disk space: 29586 MB
    Recommendations: none.
    How can I resolve this issue ?

    I ran the SQL 2000 installation and chose "Upgrade existing SQL Server installation" and it worked fine on a test MC.
    There is more information on upgrading SQL Server Desktop Engine here:

    I don't know if this is supported by Cisco so make sure you have a good backup and run a backup of the MC before attempting it.

    Hi thanks....I'm having this strange SQLException while trying to insert BLOB image data to Oracle database. I'm saying this strange because for the same image that has been inserted before it's throwing the exception. My program is run from Oracle form and then some image data are inserted into database through a loop. I can't realize what's the problem inside my code that's causing this problem. In fact, when I run my program independently not from Oracle Form, it runs fine, every image data get inserted into database. Given below is my code snippet:
    public void insertAccDocs(String[] accessions) throws SQLException
        for(int q=0; q<accessions.length; q++)
        final String  docName = accessions[q];
        dbThread = new Thread(new Runnable(){
        public void run()
          try{
          System.out.println("insertDB before connection");
                   getConnected();
                   System.out.println("insertDB after connection");
                   st=con.createStatement();
             //String docName = acc; commented
         // String docName = singleAccession;
                   String text = formatFree;
                   String qry = "INSERT INTO DOCUMENT VALUES
    ('"+docName+"','"+text+"','"+formatted+"','"+uiid+"')";
                   System.out.println("parentqry"+qry);
                   int ok=0;
                   ok=st.executeUpdate(qry);
                   if(ok==1)
                System.out.println("INSERTION SUCCESS= "+ok);
                        System.out.println("Image List Size"+ imgList.size());
                // inserting into child
                        for(int i=0;i<imgList.size(); i++)
                      String imgPath = ""+imgList.get(i);
                                  System.out.println("db"+imgPath);
                                  FileInputStream fin = new FileInputStream(imgPath);
                                  BufferedInputStream bufStr = new BufferedInputStream(fin);
                                  byte[] imgByte = new byte[bufStr.available()];
                                  String img = "" + imgNameList.get(i);
                                  System.out.println("imgid="+i);
                callable = con.prepareCall("{call prc_insert_docimage(?,?,?)}");
                callable.setString(1,docName);
                            callable.setString(2,img);
                callable.setBinaryStream(3, bufStr , (int)imgByte.length);
                callable.execute();
            callable.close();
                     con.commit();
            con.close();
                   else
                        System.out.println("INSERTION NOT SUCCESS");
       //   } //else end of severalAcc
                   }catch(Exception err){ //try
                        System.out.println(err.toString());
        } //run
      }); //runnable
      dbThread.start();
