Maximum number of Real Servers and Server Farms in ACE30 Module

Hi All,
Need help for below queries.
What are the maximum number of real servers, server farms and virtual servers i can configure on ACE30 module?
Is there any documentation available on cisco site where i can check this?
Does it depend on the hardware or does it depend on the software version?
Quick response would be really appreciated.
Regards,
Rachit.

Hello Rachit,
On the ACE module 30 you can have a maximum of: 16,383 rservers and 16,384 serverfarms
This is not the same exact version which you have but here you have some addtional details:
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/interfaces_modules/services_modules/ace/vA5_1_0/configuration/slb/guide/rsfarms.html#wp1014522
The ACE supports a system-wide maximum of 8192 class maps, here you have the reference about it:

  • Maximum number of domains per physical server

I am curious as to whether or not there is a maximum number of domains per physical server. Is it just based on resources, i.e. memory, hdd space, etc. or does Oracle have it's own specific recommendations? I realize, as implied, that one could put a number of vm's on a server that would utilize the server ram up to an amount reserved for the OS.
Just wondering if there is a recommendation.
By the way, we are running WLS (10.0MP1) and OSB (3.0) on top of Win2K3.
    Thanks for nay info,
    Todd

Typically it depends on the resources.
If the WLS instances are heavily utilized, at some point having more JVM's than the number of cores impacts performance if the apps are CPU bound. Similar applies for apps that use a lot of memory or sessions. There is no blanket answer and there is no hard and fast limit.

  • [ACE] Real servers and VIP in the same VLAN

    Hello.
I´m facing an issue because the real servers and the VIP address are in the same VLAN, when a request comes from an external client to the VIP (crossing an ASA firewall) , the ACK gets back using the IP of one of the real servers instead of the VIP so this traffic is blocked by our WAN firewall probably due the inspection rules.
My question is if there is some way make the VIP the address who ACK´s that requests? Creating a new VLAN would be complicated because there are other services already running on those real servers.
    Thanks a lot,
    Miquel

    Hi Miquel,
Please do source nat on ACE so that return traffic gets sent to ACE and not FW. Pasting an example for you.

  • Maximum number of Edge servers within a Pool for Lync 2013

I see no reference as to the maximum number of Lync Edge servers within a pool. Does it follow the same as that of the Front End, and so, no more than 12 per pool?
Also, can you have more than one edge pool within the same data center? I don't see why not, though validation is needed.
    Thanks,

  • Why do I keep getting the message "Unable to connect to Imap server you may have exceeded the maximum number of connections to this server.

I already tried reducing the maximum number of connections to 1, but I'm still receiving the message. Is there anything else I can do?
My computer is a Mac mini running OSX 10.9.5. Firefox is version 34.0.5.

Ok, IMAP server almost universally allow multiple connections. Thunderbird as you would have observed uses 5 if they are available. As Airmail suggested, iphones just use more and more until they exhaust the available connections. There is no set maximum option.
However there are other things that can consume connections and some may surprise you.

  • COPA - Maximum number of value fileds and characteristics

Does anybody know wich is the maximum number of value fields in COPA module . VVXXX
    I remember that in 4.6 it's something like 56.
There's also a maximum, in the number of characterisitcs that you can use in COPA?
    Thanks in advanced

    Summary
    Symptom
The technical limits for data structure of an operating concern could constrain further extension for large applications.
The current limits are set as follows:
    50 characteristics
    120 value fields
    249 fields in table
    1948 bytes of table width
    Other terms
data structure, KEA0, characteristics, value fields
    Reason and Prerequisites
This was due to historical as well as performance reasons, because of database and system limitations in past.
    Solution
As of basis 6.20 package 25 was extended the limit of database table length to 4030 characters. According that, the limits for CO-PA data structure are adapted as well.
By applying of the attached source code correction the limits are extended as follows:
    50 characteristics
    200 value fields
    749 fields in table
    4030 bytes of table width
    Caution:
The correction can be applied also in ERP release 4.70, but only under the condition, that basis release 6.20, support package 25 or higher is applied.

  • Maximum number of PXE servers for WDS/MDT

We have an imaging environment based on Windows Server 2012 R2 using WDS with MDT.
For optimal speeds, each imaging station has a server dedicated to it, with its own Multicast address space.
Due to the success and speed accomplished with 10 stations being served by 10 servers, we wanted to scale to 18 stations (so let's call it an even 20, as that was I was building for).
We utilize the registry change to
    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services\WDSServer\Providers\WDSPXE\Providers\BINLSVC]
    "AllowServerSelection"=dword:00000001
as to allow us to choose which PXE server to boot to (as detailed here: http://www.stephan-schwarz.net/?p=58 )
However, we have run into a problem- the menu to select a server caps out at 17 servers for older environments (Legacy BIOS) and 16 for UEFI. This was confirmed both within a BIOS and UEFI VMWare environment, as well as our primary deployment device (17
for Legacy, 16 for UEFI). The devices are to be UEFI Secure Boot, so the cap for us is 16.
Is there anywhere I can turn to increase this limit? I'm not going to be surprised if the answer is no.
However, has anyone made a PXE loading page allowing a user to choose a particular server? I had built in the past such a menu using TFTP and Ghost, and I see this article on doing something similar for WDS, but I don't know if it can just point at any other
    PXE servers.
    Thanks for your time.

Actually, with each WDS server with it's own Multicast IP range, we have seen great speeds from each server to each grouping of 30-ish machines, though of course "it could always be better!"
As such, with 16 servers we can move 500+ machines an hour/hour-and-a-half. In fact, it's the drop to Unicast SMB that MDT does after the WIM transfer that slows down the process (as noted here as well as our own testing http://social.technet.microsoft.com/forums/windowsserver/en-US/73e398b5-75ab-4787-b230-6254de107084/wds-multicast-falls-back-to-unicast-after-copying-files-stage)
We'll continue tweaking the technology and attempting to implement some segmentation via subnets/VLANs so we can have more capacity. Someday, I'll have to put it all together in a blog post.

  • Maximum number of connection profiles and group policies for Cisco ASA

    Hi,
We have a Cisco ASA 5520 running 8.0(2) that we use only for Remote Access VPN.
Does anyone know how many connection profiles and group policies that are supported on the box? I have not been able to find this in the manual.
Thanks in advance for your help!
    Best regards,
    Harry

There is no limit for connection profiles or group policies that can be configured on ASA. However the numbers do depend upon the memory available in the device as the profiles are stored in memory during execution.

  • Maximum Number of RSS Feeds and Podcasts

    Hello All.
Can a single web site created with iWeb have multiple podcasts, blogs, etc.?
I ask because I am concerned that having two different podcasts, for example, may mess up the RSS information causing problems for people who may have subscribed to one podcast, but not both.
    Does that make sense? Thanks.
      Mac OS X (10.4.5)

    Hi Potsnpans,
I can tell my experience with my double Podcasts.
First I started the original Podcast inside of my existing Blog site.
A couple of weeks later, I realized I should set up my Podcast as an individual site, separated from Blog. So, I created a new Podcast site with slightly different site name. Then, what happens to me was:
    • The old Podcast was gone from the iTunes Podcast list. Though I typed in and searched, the answer was "not existing." But actually the files were in my iWeb, and could view on the net. (I call it "Exile" files.)
    • Also, the strange things happened to the new Podcast site.
Although it was delivered by RSS, I couldn't search.
Therefore, iWeb is supposed to be rejecting "doubled" Podcasts from one .Mac account.
This iWeb has a million of uncertain conditions, I think (and hope) Team .Mac is improving so many functions and delivering conditions. We'd be better waiting for the new version or patch ups.
    Did I make it clear?

  • Maximum number of still images in a sequence exceeded

    Model Name: iMac
    Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo
    Processors: 2.8 Ghz
    Memory: 4GB
    Bus Speed: 800MHz
    FCP 7.0.3
So what's the maximum number of still images that are allowed in a single sequence in FCP 7?
Does it vary from FCP 6, 5, Express etc.?

    http://www.flickr.com/photos/48395063@N07/5328011119/
    http://www.flickr.com/photos/48395063@N07/5328011119/sizes/l/in/photostream/
You have to zoom in to read the yellow message box that appears when the mouse is loitering over the orange unlimited-time bar above the sequence.
For your pleasure I have typed it out:
    "Video: Unlimited
    Audio: Media File
_*The maximum number of real-time still images has been exceeded in this sequence.*_
A motion of composting effect can not be played in real time.
Real time playback is not supported for the clip on track 1.
The nested sequence on track 2 does not match this sequence settings.
The nested sequence on track 11 does not match this sequence settings."
Basically we're doing the "Artists Showcase" and artists send in photos and not all of them will be able to match the sequence settings since we take what we can get.
Besides that the estimated number of still images is 480.

  • Securing Server Farm

    Hi all,
To securing server in data center, we have to deploy firewall and ips. My question is, do firewall and ips need to securing traffic between server (different subnet, like database server and application server) or just securing traffic between outside server farm and server farm ?
    Thanks

It's up to you in the end but I would recommend having your database servers firewalled from anything else.
The database servers are some of the most important servers in any company and they usually need the highest level of protection.
When I was involved with an Oracle setup we had our database servers on their own vlan behind a firewall which was Oracle's recommendation. Only the application servers were allowed to initiate connections to them and there was no direct access to the database servers except for the admins.
And if you have multiple database servers on the same vlan, if there is no need for them to communicate with each other you can also use private vlans to segregate them within the vlan.

  • Maximum number of triggers.

    Hi
Can any one tell me the maximum number of database triggers and schema triggers can be created with in a database.
    Thanks,
    James.

There is no limit. At least no practical limit.
There are a fixed number of types of triggers, the number of types of triggers depends on how you count and what version of Oracle you use.

  • Maximum Number of Keys

Hello, I'm doing a study on different database software and I was wondering what the maximum number of foreign, primary, and super keys that are allowed in a relational table?

This list might be one starting point for Oracle 10gr2.
The number of primary keys per table should be pretty much consistent in any rdbms;)

  • Can a real Server be applied in two different server farms associated with two different VIP IP and TCP Port

    Good day everyone,
I have a question in regard to real server operation with different server farms, and VIPs
Can a Real Server be associated ( for simpliciy) with two different Server Farms that have a VIP associated with each, servicing the same TCP Port (443).
    Example:
    SF-A
    RSRV-1: 192.168.1.10 /24
    RSRV-2: 192.168.1.11 /24
    VIP-A: 192.168.1.20 /24
    VIP-A: https:web-A
    Protocol: HTTPS
    SF-B
    RSRV-2: 192.168.1.11 /24
    RSRV-3: 192.168.1.12 /24
    VIP-B: 192.168.1.30 /24
    VIP-b: https:web-B
    Protocol: HTTPS
    Client-A: 172.16.128.10
    Client-B: 172.16.128.15
I have attached an sketch depicting the connectivity.
As always any feedback/Suggestions will be greatly apprecaited.
    Cheers,
    Raman Azizian

    Raman,
This type of config is no problem. What the server is doing is virtual web hosting. The server would have two different web services running for the same IP, but each listening for a unique host header.
From an IP point of view both connections would be destined to the rserver address on port 80, but in the http header they would have two different Host headers.
one for www.example1.com and the second for www.example2.com. If the web server is configured correct so each host name is tied to one web service it will not have any issues.
The config you attached looks ok. The way you have the sticky group is ok doing source IP. If you use cookies for the sticky group I would suggest you create two sticky groups each with a different cookie name and add the same serverfarm to both groups. The client will only send a cookie for the domain it received it from so using the same cookie in two vips could cause problems if the same client hits both vips.
    Hope that helps
    Regards
    Jim
