Maximum size of upload file using Cross Domain Library

Hi All
I need to know what is the maximum size of file that I can upload using Cross Domain Library from my Provider hosted app. I know that in msdn it is written that usign REST call we can upload upto 2GB but I have doubts if it is true with Cross domain library
REST Calls. Please suggest.
 spExecutor.executeAsync(
                               url: fileCollectionEndpoint,
                               method: "POST",
                               contentType: "application/json;odata=verbose",
                               body: filedata,
                               binaryStringRequestBody: true,
                               headers: { "X-RequestDigest": $("#__REQUESTDIGEST").val(), "accept": "application/json;odata=verbose" ........
And Can I pass ArrayBuffer directly or I need to pass only binary string ?
Thanks in Advance

Hi,
According to your post, my understanding is that you want to know the Maximum size of upload file using Cross Domain Library.
Per my knowledge, you can upload files up to 2 GB with the REST API.
You can refer to:
How to: Upload a file by using the REST API and jQuery
In addition, you can pass ArrayBuffer directly. Please refer to:
FileCollection methods

  • Maximum size of a file that  the getResourceAsStream() can read?

    hi guys.before i post this new topic, i have search through the forum,and google. on the web .so reply are appreciated.
    1) getResourceAsStream() method, is there a way to know the maximum size of a file that the getResourceAsStream() can read?
    InputStream          is = getClass().getResourceAsStream("Dream2.gif");
                                  byte[]               byte0          = new byte[10 * 1024];
    bcos the size of my bytearray is hardcoded, if any thing is greater than that size ,my program would crash.so i would like to know if there is a way to do that
    2)if that is not available, are there any methods in j2me using any connection (http or socket),that can know the maximum size of the file that are available??????

    You won't be able to tell how big the resource is using this approach. However, since your resource is in the JAR you will be able to know the size of it before hand.
    Otherwise, use the read(byte[], int, int) method to read the resource in chunks like this:
    int count = 0;
    byte[] bytes = new byte[1024];
    while ((count = read(bytes, count, 1024)) != -1) {
      // do something like write to a ByteArrayOutputStream
    }Although redundant, using this approach you can see that you can keep a count of the number of bytes you've read and thus know the total size of the resource.

  • Upload files using browser

    The Form enctype=multipart/formdata and input type=file parameters are needed along with method=post.
    You then need a servlet(or MS PostingAcceptor) on the server side to read/store it. The Post data is in multiple parts with the parms on separate lines..
    Here is sample HTML Form:
    <HTML>
    <BODY>
    <H2>Uplaod test </H2>
    <form enctype="multipart/form-data" action="/examples/servlet/MultipartForm"
    METHOD="POST"
    NAME="UploadFileForm"
    LANGUAGE="JavaScript"
    onSubmit="if (!validateForm(document.UploadFileForm))
    alert ('Please enter a fileName.');
    document.UploadFileForm.my_file.select();
    return false;
    }">
    <input type="text" name="TargetURL" value="/uploads">
    <input type="text" name="submitter" value="me">

    <tr>

    <SCRIPT LANGUAGE="JavaScript">
    // Begin client side helper functions
    function validateForm(form)
    if (isEmpty(form.file)) return false;
    return true;
    function isEmpty(textcontrol)
    str = textcontrol.value
    for (i = 0; i < str.length; i++)
    chr = str.substring(i, i + 1);

  • Maximum size for JAR files on Nokia 3120 Classic

    I am trying to download and install a java app for a Nokia 3120 classic, but when installing I get an error message telling me that the file is too big at 5.7mb.
    I can't find the maximum size of .jar files for this phone anywhere.
    Can anyone let me know what this is and whether there is any way to get the app to work.
    Many thanks.
    Alan Watson

    YES THERE IS A WAY!! I only got this information from someone else. Thanks for that person.
    Here are the steps:
    1. Download the jar file you want to install, to your computer. Now open My computer, and on the upper left corner you shall see a menu, click the "Tools" button and then click "Folder options..." A little window will appear. Click the "View" tab. On this window you need to find an option "Hide extentions for known file types" below "Advanced settings". Then unmark or uncheck the box.
    2. Now when you open my computer and go to the folder where you had downloaded the java file, the file name will read "(anyfilename).jar". HERE IS THE TRICK.
    3. Rename the last part of your file. Instead of .jar change it to .jpg so that it reads  "(anyfilename).jpg"
    4. Now copy the renamed file and paste it in your mobile's C: or Memory Card drive.
    5. Once you had pasted, rename the copied file back to what it was. i.e "(anyfilename).jar"
    BASICALLY the phone limits a file with a ".jar" extention, you can fool it by renaming the extention to ".jpg" and then once the file is copied into the phones C:drive you can change the extention back to ".jar" by renaming it.
    Share it. Hope it works for you! God bless...

  • Upload File using MDS WCF API

    I have a field of File Type in my Entity. How can I upload file using WCF API?
    I tried to create a new Entity Member and added the following attribute in the member attributes collection
    Attribute att = new Attribute();
    att.Identifier = new Identifier();
    att.Identifier.Name = "Image";
    att.Value = bytes;
    In attribute value I tried to pass the bytes array of an image, also tried Encoding.ASCII.GetString(bytes); as attribute value, but none of them works.
    With byte array i get the following exception "Conversion failed when converting the nvarchar value 'System.Byte[]' to data type int." and in case of ASCII string i get "A database error has occurred. Contact your system administrator." error.
    There is lack of documentation and samples.
    Please let me know if someone tried it out.
    Thanks!

    You need to use the EntityMemberAttributesGet operation to retrieve the contents of a file attribute. EntityMembersGet is designed to retrieve a collection of many members and therefore it would not make sense to retrieve every file for every row retrieved.
    In contrast, EntityMemberAttributesGet is designed to work with a single member and specific attributes of that member, and it was designed to retrieve the file content.

  • Maximum size of XML files and number of IDocs for IDoc receiver adapter

    Hi Guys,
    We have an XML file to IDoc scenario where XI picks up an XML file with multiple Customer records in it, it does a simple mapping and creates one DEBMAS06 IDoc per record in the XML file. All IDocs are sent in a single file in XML-IDOC format to IDoc adapter which then posts the separate DEBMAS IDocs to R/3.
    a) What is the maximum size of XML files that XI can handle with mapping involved ?
    b) What is the maximum number of IDocs in a single file that the receiver IDoc adapter can handle ?
    The first time this interface runs almost 200,000 Customer records will be exported in one XML file.
    Thank you.

    Hi,
    Well it is difficult to find out the  maximum Size of xml messgaes that can be processed by XI and also Maximum number idocs an recevier Idoc adapter can handle.
    This totally depends on your production system loads and the limits can be set totally on trail & error basis..
    In my heavy loaded production system, i found out that the maximum size of the successfull messages after processing by XI is around 75 MB (seen in transaction SXMB_MONI). Whereas messages with size around 100 MB went into error.
    I havent encounter any such limits with respect to Idocs.
    I would suggest that you divide your data into smaller chunks and sent it part by part instead of sending it all once since you data size is huge.
    You can vary your batch size as per your system load.

  • Uploading Files Using InputFile Component -- Sometimes not working

    Hello,
    This is the 2nd time I make a post about it!
    Because I have more than 1 application using upload, and everything is correct! But it doesn't work as it should!
    You can check the original post here: Uploading Files Using InputFile Component - Sometimes not working
    I need a solution please!
    The only thing we can conclude is that it could be a bug from oracle !!! (???) But I talked with other people and they say that it works fine for them.
    There is one important thing: when we put a form to "Uses Upload = true" it seems that the page doesn't work very normal. For exemple: if you use a table in a form that uses upload the table get's "crazy".
    Thanks,
    JP

    I have now access to METALINK!
    I can find some problems and patches about inputFile but not mine! I will check better later!
    I think the problem is caused because of my framework!

  • Attempting to upload files using the zend _file_transfer system from cs5 training from the source. [was: Question for David Powers]

    I am attempting to upload files using the zend _file_transfer system from cs5 training from the source.
    On trying to upload to a remote server I am having trouble with the destination setting (C:/upload_test) in the example, please could you point me in the right direction for the an example of this setting for a remote file transfer
    Also do I have to construct a connection file to activate a Ftp file transfer?
    David Woolston

    >I am on windows platform
    Who is your host? When you checked your host path in your host control panel, what did it say?
    >i have assumed (may be incorrectly) that the purpose of the exercise was to upload to a remote site (ie my website)
    That is correct.
    >Of course that upload might take place on a computer that does not have DW installed (an internet cafe for example)
    That's irrelevant. DW is just the tool you are using to build your site. The site runs on your hosting accounts servers. This includes the php scripts you are working with.
    >I have uploaded all files necessary for the operation, when i click upload it returns no such directory exits.
    Do you have a url we can check? What destination are you specifying in zend code?
    >This made me suspect that I would need to construct a ftp file transfer connection file to satisfied username, password , connection address etc
    The exercise you are dealing with is using http file transfer. This has nothing to do with FTP. You do not need FTP for this, other than using it to move your source code from your local client to your server.

  • Site Owners not able to upload files in only one library

    Although my colleagues are site owners, they cannot upload files in one specific library (other libraries they can).
    What might be this problem. Has anyone encountered it? Please help.

    Thank you.
    I checked and it had unique permissions set on the library. I gave access to the two users access separately and it worked.

  • Is there a maximum size for Keynote files

    I want to make sure my Keynote files are functioning well.  Is there a maximum size, under which they function best?  (either a number of slides, or MB/memory).
    I've created the Keynote files on my iPad2, then uploaded them to my iMac desktop, used the "Reduce File Size" option on desktop Keynote, saved, then downloaded onto my iPhone4, and I'm "projecting" the files onto an Apple TV 2.
    Thanks!

    There's a mathematical limit due to the architecture of PDF object references but it's way beyond anything you could create in practice. Because the Acrobat Family are 32-bit applications you'll find there are performance issues if the file count gets too high - exactly when that becomes a problem depends on both the files and the hardware opening them, but given an XLSX file isn't displayed within the Portfolio (other than as an icon) it'll be less of an issue then if the files were PDFs, videos, etc.

    Sure, you can upload a file, using a form input element of type file. You pick this up with a servlet, though you need a special request wrapper to sort out the multi-part request you get back that way (there's a suitable package on jakarta.apache.org/commons)
    The servlet decrypts the file and can pass the results to a JSP for display.
    Don't try to do the complicated stuff in a JSP, it all gets incredibly messy, and that's not what JSPs are for.

  • How to get the size of uploaded file in sap ABAP MODULE POOL PROGRAMMING

    Hello,
    I am using a fucntion module GUI UPLOAD to upload a file from pc to SAP .
    I want to upload the details of the file.
    i.e TYPE NAME AND SIZE of the file.
    I am unable to do so.
    Help me.
    Gaur Mayank

    Perhaps you could count this by yourself...
    You could approach the correct size by calculating the number of bytes contained in each rows of your table.
    For this you will first need to upload the file to a table of string, so that each field separator is counted.
    something like:
    DATA: lt_data TYPE STANDARD TABLE OF string,
          l_len TYPE i.
    FIELD-SYMBOLS <data> TYPE string.
    "... gui_upload to lt_data
    DESCRIBE TABLE lt_data LINES l_len.
    l_len = ( l_len - 1 ) * 2.        "Count 2 bytes at end of each line for CRLF
    LOOP AT lt_data ASSIGNING <data>. "Add length of each line
        l_len = l_len + strlen( <data> ).
    ENDLOOP.
    WRITE: l_len.
    This for a single-byte codepage of course... you can use charlen in order to have the length of one char on your system, here I'm asuming it is 1.

    Manu.
