May I show multiselect pick list selected values in a report

Im new at Oracle Ondemand but already worked quite a lot with it.
One thing I can't find out is how to show selected multi select pick list values in a report.
Cant pick that values with formula edito either....
I fell that It must be easy and I am not knowing where to watch...

BW Hierarchies sometimes not showing as pick list

Hi,
we have created a Crystal Report that uses a parameter that should be picked from a BW hierarchy (a cost center group). We created the report and published it via the BW publisher to BO and then included it with an iView in the BW Portal.
Now when I log on to the portal and call the report, I'm presented with the static pick list (top 200 values) most of the time instead of the hierarchy view (as described in http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/BOBJ/CrystalReportsandBWquery+elements in the lower part of the article)
When I then log on to the CMC and call the report there, I first get the flat list, too, but when I call the report 2 or 3 times, I get the hierarchy view. When I now go back to the BW Portal, I get thet hierarchy view there as well...
any idea what causes this issue? How can I influence which selection screen is being displayed? (particularly as I don't want everyone to have to log on to CMC first...)

thank you for your reply. It's really sort of tricky.
After the pick list is up and ready once, It'll be shown fine from that point on until, I assume, my CMC login expires.
So maybe it's some permission problem?
I just tested the following:

<li>log into portal, call report -> flat list
<li>log into CMC -> call report (does not have to be the same, just has to have a hierarchy pick list, a simple report does not do the trick) -> check that it has the hierarchy pick list
<li>go back to the portal, call the report again -> hierarchy pick list comes up ok
<li>log off from CMC
<li>go back to the portal, call the report again -> flat list again...
</ul>
the whole thing works the same when I replace CMC by InfoView. The strange thing is that I have to log in to Infoview the first time I call the report from the portal (even though we have SAP credentials in BO), but this does not seem to be sufficient. I have to call one of the reports in Infoview or CMC first to make it work from the portal.
Concerning the trace, I'll have to look into this together with our sysadmins, but I'll see what I can get.

I have solution for you
To populating or refreshing the lists you can use
two procedures:
One of them - generic, which can be used for all types of list
Another is specific which contain a SQL statement to retrieve the data for
particular list.

Dropdown value list selected value not being displayed

HCM process and form - Using HR Admin control library in Adobe form to create a new drop down list as per OSS Note Note 973170 - New library for "SAP Interactive Forms by Adobe" - HR Admin Drop Down box list.
User is able to choose values from dropdown list. But, when form is sent for approval, approving user is not seeing selected value.

Follow the below steps,
1. Place the dropdown list box in the form
2.bind the attributes to the dropdown.
3.In Object tab Property Click List Item, One Pop up Window is displayed,
   In the popup window,
                       i. Bind the dropdown list attributes to the items.
                       ii. $ symbol assigned to the Item text
                       iii.$ symbol assigned to the item value.

Displaying the list of values in the Report

Hi All,
Is there any possibility to include the scrollable list on the face of report(Not in the left side i.e as input control)
For example If I have a country with different counties.
Based on the country selection in the block it should display the list of counties as scrollable list.
Would it be possible.

Not sure if you are looking for the same..
Have you tried applying the filter at the filter pane..i.e.
Click on the the show\hide filter pane (filter icon is present nearby the drill icon)
Now drag the required object on this pane.
It will create the dropdown filters on top of the report.

Report Viewer Dynamic Parameter List not showing a complete list of values

Hi, I have installed the crystal report runtime 13.0.1.220 for framework 4.0 in a 64-bit windows 7 professional server.
I have an aplication that opens crystal reports using the crystal report viewer control for visual studio 2010, also version 13.0.1.220.
ISSUE: The report opens fine, but it does not shows all the available values in the dynamic parameter list.
I have tried setting the MaxRowsetRecords registry key to diferent values but it does not work.
I do not have any crystal report stand alone version installed in my server.
Please help me?

yes i followed the instructions of the KBase you are mentioning, but it isn't working for me.
I modified the following keys:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\SAP BusinessObjects\Crystal Reports for .NET Framework4.0\Crystal Reports\DatabaseOptions\LOV
and
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\SAP BusinessObjects\Crystal Reports for .NET Framework4.0\Crystal Reports\DatabaseOptions\LOV
1) I had to create the LOV key under the DatabaseOptions in both keys.
2) Inside the LOV keys I created the new string value MaxRowsetRecords and set the value to different values. (Ex: 5000, 10000 and 1000000)
3) I restarted my server. Still not working.
4) Then after that i modified the following registry keys: (leaving the first 2 keys modified)
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\SAP BusinessObjects\Crystal Reports for .NET Framework4.0\Crystal Reports\DatabaseOptions\LOV

Changing dropdown list selected value in JSP

I would like a dropdown list to load with all values in a database table, which is no problem. But, I would then like it to display a selected text value from that list, depending on the value returned by a SQL query. As an example, say I was looking-up someone's personal data and there was a dropdown list that listed all the possible hair colors. If this person had been entered as having blonde hair, I want the dropdown list to display blonde at page load, but give the user the option to select another color if a change is needed.

Imagine, I have a report that has 3 Rows (dog, cat, mouse)(From a Table). When I click on the edit-item of mouse, I get to the next page, where I have a select list, that got a lov of dog, cat and mouse (again from the Table), but with mouse preselected.
How can I do that ?

Your Lov will be like this
select name d, animal_id r from animals
In this name is the value which you want to display in the front end and animal_id will be return value for the selected list item.
now lets say your select name is P2_ANIMAL, so what you can do is you can pass the animal_id from your report to this item
then by default the value you passed will be shown in the list.
example cats id is 1, rats id is 2, dogs id is 3
so when you pass 1 then cats will be shown by default if 2 is passed then rats will come.

Incomplete List of Values in Interactive Report Column Headers

Oracle Database 11g 64-bit
Apex 3.1.1.00.09
I created an interactive report that results in over 10,000 records, and several of the columns have incomplete filter values when you click on the column header. It's not even close in some instances. It's not even showing the values that are loaded in the visible page.
I have tried recreating the report on a new page, as well as creating a database view with the query and then just querying the view (in case there was a problem with query complexity).
I'm at my wits end as to why this is happening. Have any of you seen this happen, and is there any way to get around it? I know I can write my own LOV query for the column headers, but those won't be dynamic like they are supposed to be out of the box taking applied filters into account.

List of values not properly working in the selection screen.

Dear Mates,
In BEx query all the selection parameters are working and showing all the list of values. Created the same report in crystal from BEx query, for one particular selection it is not showing the list of values or drop down. Just showing "DISCRETE VALUES"

Hi Arun,
I think you have more than one dynamic parameter created in your report. There is a limitation on dynamic parameter list of values. You will have to edit the registery to get all values in dynamic parameters list.
Find below is a knowledgebase article ;
Symptom
For performance reasons, in Crystal Reports XI Release 1 and Release 2 the maximum number of values that are returned for a list of values is set to 1000. If you have a cascading List of Values (for example Country > Region > City), the lowest level (in this case City) will only display a maximum of 1000 values. This means that the higher-level prompts may display far fewer values than you expect. The list of values provides the data for the dynamic parameter list.
How can you modify the maximum number of values available in a dynamic parameter list?
Resolution
To increase the maximum number of values available in a dynamic parameter list, you must add a registry key.
CAUTION
The following resolution involves editing the registry. Using the Registry Editor incorrectly can cause serious problems that may require you to reinstall the Microsoft Windows operating system. Use the Registry Editor at your own risk. For information on how to edit the registry key, view the 'Changing Keys and Values' online Help topic in the Registry Editor (Regedit.exe).
It is strongly recommended that you make a backup copy of the registry files (System.dat and User.dat on Win9x computers) before you edit the registry.

List of Values not showing up

Hi,
We have BOE 3.1 SP2 with PixPack 2.2 running on Windows Server 2003 R2 SP2 x64
In InfoView, when scheduling a Web Intelligent Report, nothing shows in my List of Values in the Prompts. I hit the Refresh Values button and nothing comes up also.
I'm new in the BO environment so I'm going here and there in the consoles.. I get the same problem when using and AD regular user account or the Enterprise Administrator account.
I checked and added View On Demand for Everyone in my Universes and Connections....

Hi Jay,
Can you see the LOV when viewing the webi report?
To see the LOV when viewing or scheduling webi, in "Edit Query" you need select "Prompt with List of Values". And in Universe designer, select "Associate a List of Values" in Properties tab of the object your parameter binds to.

How do I convert to a "Input List of values".

Pick up a value from LOV radio group in form

Hi friends,
I created a lLOV (list of value ) and map as radio group for a categroy column in product form.
When I used below code to pick user selected value from radio group in form, I get an error. Error: (WWV-00000)
p_radioreturn := p_session.get_value_as_VARCHAR2(
p_block_name => 'DEFAULT',
p_attribute_name => 'category', --- this is a produce category
p_index => 1);
But other code works well for texttbox in form.
If After remove this code. and assign value p_radioreturn :='assignvalue';
works

Pick List Creation Released quantity exceeds open quantity

Hi all,
I'm getting the following error when trying to create pick lists through the SAPB1 DI:
"Released quantity exceeds open quantity "
Every time, the stock quantity in the warehouse that the code concerns is by far enough when compared to the released quantity.
I cannot turn off the warehouse setting recommended on another post on here.
Any ideas?

These two sql commands are stored in a table and called from the VB code, for soft code re-usability.
The SQL returns the results I am expecting, and I don't think the problem lies here.

Prompt List of Values in WebI - SAP BI Variable - SAP BI Query -BI Infoset

Hi,
We have a Multiprovider built on an Infoset. SAP BI Infoset is built using 2 DSOs.
There is a SAP BI Query on top of this Multiprovider.
Multiple-Single Values type Optional Variables are created for some of the Objects of this SAP BI Query.
Universe is created on top of this SAP BI Query, using SAP Integration kit.
WebI is created on top of this Universe.
Prompts are created on some of the Universe Objects, for the WebI report.
We are facing a typical problem.
When a WebI prompt is created on one particular object, (which also has a Multiple Single Value type Optional Variable in SAP BI Query), its List of Values is showing up only first three values in WebI. The SAP BI Variable in BEX Analyzer shows up all the 8 values for the List of Values, for the same object.
The Output WebI report has more values for the object than shown up in the List of Values & this is the problem.
We tried to keep the settings in Info-object, DSO, Infoset, Multiprovider = Values in Master Data (for the List of Values).
Similar objects and similar variables for the same query / webi show all the List of Values.
Any guidance on aspects to be checked would be helpful.

Problem :
If an SAP BI Infoset is used in data modelling, and a restricted key
figure is created in the SAP BI Query; the resultant WebI Object Prompt
for the Info-object, only shows up LOVs which have been used for the
restricted Key Figure. Both the things are not related except for the
fact that some of the values for the same object are used for the
restricted key figure.
Details :
We have a Multiprovider built on an SAP BI Infoset.

There is a restricted key figure in the sap bi query. KeyFigure "Number
of Records" is restricted for 3 of the relevant Info-object "Meter
Reading Status" values.
Universe is created on top of this SAP BI Query, using SAP Integration
kit. WebI is created on top of this Universe.
Prompt is created on the Universe Object for Meter Reading Status, in
the WebI report.
List of Values is showing up only the three values in WebI (which were
used in the Restricted Key Figure calculation).
SAP BI Variable in BEX Analyzer for the same Info-object Meter Reading
Status shows up all the 8 values for the List of Values.
The Output WebI report has more values for the object than shown up in
the List of Values & this is the problem.
We have kept the settings in Info-object, DSO, Infoset,
Multiprovider, Query = Values in Master Data (for the List of Values).
When we delete the "Restricted Key Figure" from the SAP BI Query, the
refreshed Universe and Webi have a complete set of List of Values
applicable.
Steps for Reconstruction
1. Create Infoset
2. Create SAP BI Query on Infoset
3. Create Restricted Key Figure for Number of Records and few of the
values for a characteristic info-object "X".
4. Create BO Universe on SAP BI Query
5. Create Webi on BO Universe
6. Create a Prompt on the characteristic info-object "X".
7. Check List of Values for the characteristic info-object "X" in SAP
BI Query and WebI.
8. LOVs in WebI are equal to the values used for restriction in the
restricted key figure.
9. Delete the restricted key figure from SAP BI Query.
10. Refresh Universe
11. Webi prompt shows all the values for the prompt on "X".
