Maybe I was to keen to be happy with Infinity....

Well, title says it all really but after 5 years of **bleep** with Broadband, I got Infinity last week.
7 Days so far and it has, until now been running as steady as a rock at 37.7 Mbps throughput and around 8.5 Mbps up, everyone a winner you would think.
Today I get home and Speedtest now showing at 14Mbps and the connection profile has dropped.  According to the connection time on the HH, it would seem this happened around midnight last night.
I have gone from :
38716Kbps Profile
to
14262Kbps Profile
The questions are as follows :
1) Do I simply leave it and hope all goes back?
2) Is there really a training period on VDSL?
3) Why the **bleep** does the HH show 4.1GB of upload since reconnect and there has been no one here?
Any advice, of course appreciated.

Well, 10 days as good as up (all bar a couple of hours) so took a chance and power cycled all power to both (as if a power cut).
After all, you would like to think that BT wouldn't reduce profiles as a result of power cuts, after all, no customer can predict when they will occur nor is it a fault with the line!!
Anyway, I am pleased to report that I am back to my previous profile (I think) which is producing a 37.5Mbps throughput on Speedtest.net using Newbury Server.
BT Speedtester doesn't like my telephone number at the moment, and has always worked fine (issue was still present before power cycle).
Any known faults with the tester at the moment?
On the positive side, at least my profile doesn't appear to have been locked down at 14262 so lets see............................

    I was previously with sky, and upgraded to their fibre unlimited when it became available. Ended up getting 30Mbps out of possible 40Mbps. I had been told at time of upgrade, that at a later stage if I wanted to upgrade to pro I would be able to. Called to do just that, only to be told that an upgrade to pro would only push up to 33.1Mbps.
    Checking bt adsl checker, fibre speed is quoted as 36.5 low and 65 high, both for impacted line. So got out of contract and moved to infinity 2, now only getting 30Mbps.
    Called on day 2 to be told would be escalated to service monitoring team, and they will call back on Friday. So 4 days into an 18 month contract before anyone can confirm what is causing slow speeds?
    I can handle being told that due to line length we can only expect maximum of 36.5Mbps. But to be told at sign up that would get between 56 & 76Mbps, in line with the bt wholesale adsl check figures, and then only get half the speeds I'm paying for feels worse than what happened with sky.
    Can any of the mods look into my issue, and see if they can spot anything obvious perhaps? Pretty annoyed, and finding the mybt account area quite useless, considering it shows phone line order is still in progress but has been live since late on 26/05/2014

    prediction was 44/8 currently getting 52.5/15  and thats on wireless ! ip profile 54.85/20. so cant complain
    only problem i had was the ip profile down load didnt increase, so followed the advice to reboot the hub and router and hey presto ip increased, something to do with BRAS or words to that effect i read in one of the postings .

Within a wk one of the new iPhones started turning on and of like 10 –15 times a day. Wk 2 it turned off and would not turn on again . It was my sons who was in college at the time so we talked and he took it in to a Verizon store where he was told I need to come in since the account was in my name. He was away from home , Verizon could see on account it was his phone they said it was not abused, they could not even turn it on , they sold me the phone give him another phone maybe even a loaner till he gets another. So now I need to go to store and explain to 3 different people this is my phone and my son has it and I need a new one. what a waste of time after about 2 hrs and talking to different people and yes they said there were notes on his account from other person he had talked to from different store. So I finally walk out with a receipt in hand and being told I would have a new phone in a couple days. As I sat in my vehicle thinking this is stupid I looked at my receipt and noticed it said droid on it so back into Verizon I went. The salesman said that’s what your son has on his account. My son had activated a friends old phone so he has one since VERIZON REFUSED to give him one. Another hr 3 people and yes they can see he had a new iPhone and notes on it from other store. Sometimes sorry just doesn't do it. I was now late for a appointment . Now I walk out and have been told I will get a new iPhone in the mail in about 2 wk Yes 2 wks   again I bought it there just give me a new one and you send old one back. I will also get a new droid that I have to send back because they said they cant cancel it  . In about 3 days I get the Droid and sent it back Verizon mistake and a waste of my time . After waiting over 2 wks and not receiving a new iPhone back to Verizon I went . I am now bitter at Verizon after doing 20 yrs of business with them. 3 people 1 hr later I was told it got delivered to my post office . I got the tracking num called the post office and they say o yes that was the droid. Go back in to Verizon another hr of explaining I walk out being told I will get a new iPhone in a couple of days, We’ll see . Once again I got the phone in your store just give me a new one . Do you realize how much of my time you have wasted ? do you care? O what is Your Policy ? How many Billion did you make last year ? I am Locked into a new 2 yr contract . Why don’t you just release me ? After 20 yrs do you think I will ever renew my contract ?

    Simple process. If an iPhone go to the Apple Store and not Verizon

She downloaded version three and I have an account and a password - was not able to transfer my books from my reader to version three (and I don't like the lay-out - I would prefer to stay with the old version as I also loose all my download date info..)
    But all the books I have bought over the last three years are in the old Adobe Digital and I cannot access them any more. When I use it I get the message "that the document is licensed to a different account. I can't even open the books on my computer.
    When I go to my Kobo library, I cannot also not open my books and get the message "this doc is protected by adobe digital rights management and is not currently authorized for use with your adobe. please sign in with your authorized adobe id and try again"
    I believe the problem is that I do not seem to have a digital id for my old adobe or that the Kobo is not in sync with it anymore.

    I have had a verizon cell phone for 13 years and have gotten your cable/internet/phone when i moved out on my own because i had been so happy with the experience i had with the cell phone service. i ordered my new iPhone 6 on October 6th along with my husband. i was told by the sales associate at the vierzon store where i placed the order that it would ship a week before halloween. instead of a shipping confirmation, i received an email a week before halloween letting me know that my order had been placed on 10/24/14. i thought this was weird, but figured i could weight another week or two, no big deal. my husband got his phone in the mail yesterday. still no sign of mine. then this morning i got an email letting me know that my order was cancelled and if id like to place another order for a phone, then i can go back to the store and do so. why would i want to go through another month of this??? verzon lost my order. i never canceled it and i am beyond annoyed. i am looking to switch my entire house to another provider. this is ridiculous.

    i did not get any reasons or explanations. the email just stated that my order was canceled and that it won't be posted to my credit card (i have more than enough to cover the cost, so that is not the issue). also my husbands phone was paid for from the same card moments before me. my balance is always paid automatically and on time. so that couldn't be the reason either. that's what so frustrating is because they didn't explain what happened. this is what the email read exactly:
    "This email is to confirm that your order has been cancelled; you have not been billed for this merchandise.

  • Was anyone ever happy with this phone at any point?

    I am just curious if there is anyone out there who was remotely happy with this phone even for five minutes. Mine randomly restared from day one out of the box. Verizon was no help. (Getting another of the same phone fixes NOTHING.)

    I think I liked it the first week.  It took me about 3 weeks to realize I wasn't getting all of my text messages.  That actually caused a fight between my best friend & I.  At first the random re-starts were only occasional but unfortunately, not they happen almost daily.  My biggest pet peeves are the fact that this SMART phone can't do what "dumb" phones can do - make phone calls & send/receive text messages.  You would think the most basic parts of the phone would be good, wouldn't you?  I'm so ready for a new phone but I'm doing a ton of research before I buy a new one.

    Keep in mind that just because a device may not be upgradeable to the latest iOS release does not mean it cannot continue to work just fine on the last update it did get.  There will be many devices that were incompatible with iOS 7 that will continuing to work just fine on iOS 6 for a long time yet.  There are many people still using their iPad 1 despite the fact it stopped getting iOS updates after iOS 5.1.1.
    One way to safeguard your apps against future incompatible versions is to keep a backup of all your apps in iTunes on your computer.  That way, if an update to the app comes out that is not backwards compatible with your iOS, you still have a copy of the last version of the app that was compatible with your device and your iOS release.

    There are a million and one negative threads about the new CC stuff. But I wanted to start a thread with a different tone.
    I realize that the majority of those in the forum probably see the CC change as a negative one. And in complete honesty, I understand their reasons, and even AGREE with them. The lack of an exit strategy from the cloud is a problem, though Adobe does say they are working on a solution. The place I work has no plans on upgrading to CC, though it's only maybe 10 users that are affected.
    But on a personal level, the CC option is a huge blessing to me. Though I do work in an environment where software is provided for me(we're currently on CS 5.5), with a new baby on the way and daycare costs taking up half my salary, I am ramping up my freelance business again as sometime in the next year, I'll probably become a stay at home dad.
    I've never been able to afford the Adobe suites outright. My wife and I do have a certain amount of personal money set aside each month to spend, but it's very difficult to come up with enough to purchase the suites.
    So when I saw that I could get everything for $30 a month for the first year(I do have a CS3 or above product registered), I was very happy. As somebody trying to get my freelance business running full speed again, this is a perfect opportunity for me to get into the Adobe software outside of my place of employment. And if things go well, the $50 a month after that won't be a problem. If I'm not making enough to afford $50 a month, then I'm probably not running the best business and probably won't be needing the tools for long.
    So this arrangement works perfectly for me. I do web design AND video/motion graphics editing, so having everything at my disposal is ideal.
    So in the sea of negativity that exists here in the forums(and not for bad reasons), I just wanted to say that I'm happy with this. Adobe have provided a way for me, who doesn't have a ton of money flowing in, to get into the great tools I already know and love. And in my view, at least temporarily, if I'm finding success, the continued fee is more than justifiable. So I want to say thank you to Adobe for providing this opportunity.
    Now, if I can please ask that this thread doesn't turn into yet another one of the already extensive number of threads bashing CC, and hopefully others who are thankful for this plan can chime in. Maybe nobody will, but I'm sure there are others out there. I just don't want this to degenerate into the same thing you can read in every other topic. Yes, I know that when I want to get off "the cloud", there are things to consider. I'm aware, and I accept that. Let's leave it at that.

    Thank you for that post, and the advice. I just happen to be one of those who it does work for. I've been around long enough to know that CC isn't going to work for everyone(the large publishing/radio/web company I work for isn't upgrading to CC because of the costs involved). But it does for me as I potentially venture out into the full-time freelancing world and away from the more structured big office environment. I can't make decisions based on what is best for anyone else, or what will hurt or help Adobe. Just what affects me, and that's all.

    The terms and conditions you agreed to when you bought a license to use Logic Pro X from the App Store do not allow/provide for refunds under such circumstances. Please note the part about you puchasing a license to use Logic Pro X.  This is also why you cannot sell Logic Pro X to another person.... because you didn't buy and own Logic Pro X in the first place... but instead you bought a license to use it... and so you cannot sell it or transfer those rights to another person.
    Now, depending on when you bought your license... you could contact Apple themselves and plead your case...For example, if you bought it by mistake a couple of days ago... and didn't intend to do so...  Apple will normally refund your costs... but based on past examples.. if you 'bought' Logic Pro X more than a week ago, you aren't going to get a refund simply because you are "not happy with it".
    Bear in mind at all times you are not entitled to a refund because of the terms and conditions under which you purchased the license in the first place...  and so Apple don't have to do anything if they choose not to do so.
