  • MDM Server Connection

    Hi,
    I am trying to configure the MDM 5.5 and unable to connect the server.
    1. I've installed the software on windows
    2.Started the MDM server service.
    3.Mounted the MDM server by giving my machine name but I see the grey icon and could not do anything.
    Please let me know what should I do?

    Hi suren,
    Please follow these steps:
    1. Start the MDM server service by going to Control Panel--> Administrative Tools --> Services and then Select '<b>Start Service' for 'MDM Server'</b>.
    <i>plz note that this service is available where MDM Server is installed and it should be running on that machine.</i>
    2. Now go to Console Right Click in <b>'Console Hierarchy Pane'</b>. Select <b>Mount MDM Server</b> from <i>Context Menu</i> and specify the<i> IP address or Host Name</i> of <b>MDM Server</b> where it is installed.
    <i>plz note that it is IP address of MDM Server only and not where you are using your Console. It will be same only if Console and server are  installed on same machine. </i>
    3. For the Mounted MDM Server Go to  <i>Console Hierarchy Pane</i> right click on it and Select <b>Start Server</b>.
    Just try this out.
    Plz revert if any queries.
    Thanks and Regards,

  • R/3 connection using JCA For Ep 6.0 SP2 !!

    I am able to connect to R3 system from the Ep 6.0 Sp2 portal using IConnectorService (JCA).
    I am trying to find a solution where I can generate java proxy for BAPI's so that I can eliminate data mapping between R3 and Java in EP 6.0 SP2 environment.
    In EP 6.0 Sp4, the Netweaver Developer Studio provides a "SAP Enterprise Connector" wizard which generates proxy classes for java but uses JCO to connect to R/3 system. It is very usefull since the mapping of data types can be done in one place for all BAPI's which needs to be called from the portal and also I do not need to constatly look at the SAP GUI for BAPI definitions and return types. I can look at the java proxies to know exactly what I need to pass to invoke a BAPI and what I am getting back. I really like these connector wizard.
    Is there a way to generate proxies using some tool for EP 6.0 sp2 using JCA as the mechanism since it is recommended to  use JCA from EP 6.0 onward instead of JCO for better performance and management of R/3 connection ??
    I appreciate your help !!

    Thanks Will.
    I have two choices to connect to R/3 system from EP 6.0 Sp2 ...
    1) JCA : If I use JCA, I may have to write the layer of
             mapping the data and calling the BAPI's from R/3
             system to java.
    2) JCO : I can use the "SAP Enterprise Connector" wizard.
             The only thing I have to make sure is R/3
             connection management using IJCOClientService
             and JCOClientPoolEntry.
    I am also aware that the iView's I am writing will be used by lot of users since we are migrating an existing applications functionality to SAP Portal.
    So my question is, Which way should I implement the connection to R/3 so that I can achieve better performance and scalability ??
    Thanks again for your help !!

  • SQL Server connections using SSPI (Windows Authentication)

    v1.1 now has the ability to connect to third party databases. I have found a small bug with connecting to SQL Server though. Here are the steps to reproduce -
    1. Download the jTDS JDBC Driver driver
    2. Extract jtds-1.2.jar from the zip file to sqldeveloper\jdbc\
    3. Extract Sso\ntlmauth.dll from the zip file to C:\Windows\System32\
    4. In SQL Developer, go to Tools > Preferences > Database > Third Party JDBC Drivers, and click Add Entry...
    5. Select sqldeveloper\jdbc\jtds-1.2.jar
    6. Click OK
    7. Right click on the Connections node and select New Connection...
    8. Set the following values -
    * Connection Name: SERVER_NAME
    * Username: LEAVE BLANK (to use Windows Authentication)
    * Password: LEAVE BLANK (to use Windows Authentication)
    * Save Password: TICKED
    * SQLServer > Hostname: SERVER_NAME
    9. Click Test. You get a "Success" message.
    10. However when you click Connect, it refuses to let you continue without providing a Username/Password. It should allow blank username/password because I have explicitly ticked "Save Password", and a blank username/password combination indicates that I wish to use SSPI (Windows Authentication)

    Windows authentication is not supported in this release.

  • SQL Server Connection using SSL

    I am currently using an encrypted connection to a SQL Server database. I am able to do this by  appending "encrypt=true" to my connection string and using a .pem file that I am able to apply using the Microsoft management console.
    http://www.sqlservermart.com/HowTo/Windows_Import_Certificate.aspx
    Is there another way to dynamically import a security certificate or set it using the LabView Db connectivity toolkit?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Almost everything you can do in the MMC plugins can also be done from the command line in Windows.  You just need to find the proper set of commands, and use the System Exec VI to implement your solution.

  • Error while connecting to MDM server from Webdynpro

    Hi ,
       I am trying to connect to MDM server (5.5 SP04 no patches) through a webdynpro application . The following is the piece of code that I am using as a test .
    CatalogData CatalogData = new CatalogData();
        int resultLogin = 0;
        try {
              resultLogin = CatalogData.Login("USNOC01AQ05",2005,"Admin","Erico1234","English [US]");
        }catch(Exception e){
              wdContext.currentContextElement().setValueattr("Not Connected");
             //System.out.println("Error while establishing connection");
        if (resultLogin != RC.RC_OK){
              wdContext.currentContextElement().setValueattr("Not Connected");
             //System.out.println("Error logging to the SDM server");
             //System.exit(-1);
         wdContext.currentContextElement().setValueattr("Connected");
        //System.out.println("MDM server connected");
    The import statements are as follows
    import a2i.common.CatalogData;
    import a2i.generated.RC;
    I have put the following jar files in the java build path
    MDM4J
    mdm-admin
    mdm-common
    mdm-core
    mdm-data
    mdm-protocol
    When I deploy my application I get the following error
    java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: a2i/common/CatalogData
    It can't be determined from the exception chain, which class loader failed to load the above class. But at least the class loader of the current application does not contain a resource with name 'a2i/common/CatalogData'.
    What do you guys think is the problem ?
    Regards
    DeepaK Singh

    Hi ,
       I found a document which says that MDM4J is the legacy API and is considered deprecated .The MDM Java API is the new one .I have both of them in the java build path . I am not sure if this is that cause of the problem .
    Now I had a look at the javadoc for the new API but I am not able to locate the class to obtain a connection to the MDM server from a custom application being built in Netweaver Developer Studio . Can someone help me out with the same ?What would be the code to obtain the connection to the MDM server with the new JAVA API ?

    However I am able to create a new DB server connection using APP Driver

  • Freeze/Hang when connecting using SSLSocket

    Hi
    I have a client/server connection using a SSLSocket. The SSL stuff is using a certificate inside a keystore with a public key which is stored in a signed .jar file, as part of the set of jars obtained by the client using Java Web Start (jars are signed, of course).
    In the server side I have estabished the javax.net.ssl.keyStore and javax.net.ssl.keyStorePassword properties with the right values, and are pointing to the keystore where I have the private key wired to the public key inside the certificate stored in the client's keystore. This way I can use the default SSLServerSocketFactory to get a SSLServerSocket (and then SSLSockets from the ssocket.accept() method).
    In the client side I do this:
    char[] passwordKeystore = "keyForTheKeystore".toCharArray();
    KeyStore ks = KeyStore.getInstance("JKS");
    ks.load(CommManager.class.getResourceAsStream("/path/to/the/keystore/inside/the/jar/file"), passwordKeystore);
    TrustManagerFactory trustManagerFactory = TrustManagerFactory.getInstance("PKIX");
    trustManagerFactory.init(ks);
    KeyManagerFactory keyManagerFactory = KeyManagerFactory.getInstance(KeyManagerFactory.getDefaultAlgorithm());
    keyManagerFactory.init(ks, passwordKeystore);
    SSLContext sslContext = SSLContext.getInstance("TLSv1");
    sslContext.init(keyManagerFactory.getKeyManagers(), trustManagerFactory.getTrustManagers(), new SecureRandom());
    SSLContext.setDefault(sslContext);
    sslSocketFactory = sslContext.getSocketFactory();I'm exchanging data exchanging serialized Objects through this SSLSocket. I've tried to "startHandshake()" in the client right after "connect()" (also in the server with the SSLSocket I get from "ssocket.accept()"), before getting the reference to the streams, but I've also tried to skip this step. Then I get first the ObjectOutputStream and then the ObjectInputStream in both sides.
    Here is the problem:
    This code works fine in a computer, but in another (both Linux, only different versions of Ubuntu, and always using the oracle JVM; this happens with both java6 and java7) there is a strange delay when I try to get the ObjectOutputStream, and I tried to exchange the order (first OOS in one side and OIS in the other, just to test) but the problem is still there. After 25/30 seconds the connection is finally established and everything works.
    By enabling debug in the java.net stack (I don't remember the exact name of the property) I've seen both VM's loading the known certificates, but everything is paused when it's going to obtain the reference to the streams, and finally works after this 25/30 seconds delay (I can see the helloClient and helloServer steps, and the algorithm negotiation).
    What might be going on here? Is it really using the certificate I created (self-signed), or this delay is related with some timeout because of not being using the proper key pair, which finally forces the connection to use a default key pair provided by the server, as long as client autenthication is not required?
    Regards

  • Unix: SQL Server Connection with ODBC (CRsqls24.so)

    Hi,
    I almost find no information how to set up a SQL Server connection using ODBC on a unix platform.
    This is what I get when I try to refresh my crystal report on my BO Server (4.1):
    "The viewer could not process an event. Error in file XXX.rpt:
    Error loading database information"
    .) is the port number really separated from the server by comma? (http://help.sap.com/businessobject/product_guides/boexir4/en/xi4sp10_data_acs_en.pdf)
    .) where is the right place to speficy the SQL Server isntance name (SQLInstanceA in this case)? I didn't find any information about that?
    [MYDB]
    Driver=/opt/BOBJ/xir4/sap_bobj/enterprise_xi40/aix_rs6000/odbc/lib/CRsqls24.so
    (for 64bit: Driver=/opt/BOBJ/xir4/sap_bobj/enterprise_xi40/aix_rs6000_64/odbc/lib/CRsqls24.so)
    Description=MYDB
    HostName=100.10.10.10,1433\SQLInstanceA
    Database=MYDB
    QuotedId=Yes
    AnsiNPW=No
    LogonID=ABC
    Password=abc123
    Thanks!

    First off, let me say that in the past (pre v9) when I've tried to use Windows logins with datasources, it never worked.  But that doesn't mean that they finally got it working, just that I stopped trying.
    What I was referring to in my post is that once you have CF installed, you need to go to the Windows Services screen, open each of the CF processes, click on the LOGIN tab, and change it from the default services login to be whatever WIndows login you have setup in Active Directory.  Then restart CF so that it's process is now running under that login with its credentials.  Then go to SQL Admin and setup that same login and give it access to the database you want to access.  Then go to CF Datasource menu and setup the datasource as you did previously.  If CF's support of Windows authentication for datasources does in fact now work, you should be in business.
    If it doesn't work, then you'll need to do as I said earlier, and setup SQL logins for the CF servers to use, and then in the CF Datasource setup screens you would specify that login info in the same way that you would have given it the "sa" login info.

  • Need sample code to connect MDM using JCA

    hi friends,
    I want to connect MDM server using JCA
    can you please provide me the sample code for that.
    Regards,
    Venki

    Hello Venki,
    why do you want to use JCo for connecting to MDM? MDM has its own specific Java API for this task. There's no need for using JCo at all.
