MDX Query - NOT EQUAL

I have a query in which I need to get the Percent(KF) difference for 2 months based on Region excluding a country.
For example
NOV 2005  - 96%
OCT 2005  - 95%
My input will be the 2 months and my Output should look like +1%.
Also COMP_AREA = 03 is asia. But then I want to exclude only JAPAN.
Please help..

Hello,
Pls refer to sap online help on how to write mdx queries.
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04s/helpdata/en/14/a3639e028a144d8c8b7dd403b22a1a/frameset.htm
You can test your query using the tcode MDXTEST on your BW system.
Cheers! Bill

    Hi All,
MDX Query not return any data  on my production server when i check service it is running. when i restart my service  i can able to run MDX Query and get data in my production server.

    Hi Mnishcal,
According to your description, there is no data returned before restart Analysis Services, right?
We haven't experiencing such issue before. And we cannot reproduce this issue. In your scenario, can you reproduce this issue? Here is a post which explains why you might not see the data you expect when browsing a SQL Server Analysis Services cube that
processed successfully. Please refer to the link below.

  • Filters not getting passed in MDX query while using SAP BW with OBIEE

    Hello,
I've been working on OBIEE with SAP BW as back-end. I've created some reports & those are working fine when there is less amount of data. But when I try to run a report with 3 dimensions & 1 fact it throws an error saying "No more storage space available for extending an internal table". When I checked MDX query, I found that the filters that I had applied to request & also selected from prompts are not getting passed in that query. So, I tried running a simple request using a simple filter in Answers. Although this request returns results but I can't see filter conditions in query. MDX query always show crossjoin but I can't see filter conditions anywhere.
Is it the normal OBIEE behaviour OR am I doing something wrong in there? Can you please help me out with this?
    Thanks,
    Rocky

    Hello Sainath,
We tried those things. But it is still giving same error.
State: HY00. Code: 10058. [NQODBC][SQL_STATE:HY000][nQSError: 10058] A general error has occurred. XML/A error returned from the server: Fault code: "XMLAnalysisError.0X80000005". Fault string: "The XML for Analysis provider encountered an error: MDX result contains too many cells (more than 1 million)". (HY000)
The problem here, I think, is the filter parameters are not getting passed in the MDX query. Any idea why would that happen? Is there any setting to do so?
    Thanks in advance for help.

  • SSRS report with tabular model – MDX query CoalesceEmpty function does not return the provided string value

    Hello everyone,
I created following calculated member in MDX query. I am using it in one of the report parameter in dataset (single select dropdown list as report parameter).
    WITH MEMBER [Measures].[ParameterCaption] AS
    CoalesceEmpty([Customer].[National Account Code].CURRENTMEMBER.MEMBER_CAPTION,'None')
I would like to display 'None' text at the top of the dropdown list values. So that when user selects 'None' then this parameter will not considered in MDX query else the selected National Account Code will be considered to filter report data. But,
the above return blank/empty value for  [Customer].[National Account Code].&  member though I specified 'None' as text in CoalesceEmpty function. Any advice would be appreciated.

  • Bw publish and connections not based on the sap bw mdx query driver

    Dear experts,
we are currently facing a problem with transporting reports that are based on multiple database connections and joined using the cross database join feature of crystal reports. One connection is based on the SAP BW MDX driver, the other is based on a SAP functionmodule.
Now when transporting the reports with STMS and publishing them via /crystal/rptadmin and bwpublish only the bex mdx query connection gets updated. The other connection is still pointing to the original location.
    e.g.
    transporting
    DEV -> PROD
function module still pointing on dev server.
As we need to use the sap default transport system in order to get all features (no SP4 yet) and we can not change the reports manually in the PROD system before publishnig and don't want to mix in the LCM we have no idea how get a work around for this problem.
Changing the database connection via CMC on the PROD system has no effect either.
    Please help.
    Thank you very much!
    Thorsten

    Hello Thorsten,
What you observe is "By Design" of the product. The dynamic update is supported only for reports using the BW MDX driver (or historically for those using the deprecated BW query driver). Other SAP drivers such as the OpenSQL driver which you use to connect to the function module do not leverage the same features when using the SAP Transport process.
You may report directly against your target system when connecting to Function Modules.
    thanks,
    Akin

  • When using TODATE function MDX query is not correctly generated

    Essbase 9.3.1.2 and OBIEE 10.1.3.4.1.
When using TODATE function MDX query is not correctly generated.
This leads to unexpected values not only on cumulative columns in report (generated with TODATE), but also other columns (calculated with AGO function or directly read from cube) have incorrect values.
The problem occurs when you filter on a column that is not in the select list. If you filter on just one level of dimension, results are fine. You can filter on multiple dimensions as long as you filter on just one level of each dimension.
If you filter on two or more levels of one dimension, than results are not correct. In some cases results for TODATE column are all zeros, in some cases it is a random value returned by Essbase (same random value for all rows of that column), and in some cases BI Server returns an error:
State: HY000. Code: 10058. [NQODBC] [SQL_STATE: HY000] [nQSError: 10058] A general error has occurred. Essbase Error: Network error [10054]: Cannot Send Data (HY000).
    Here is generated MDX code:
    With
    set [Grupe proizvoda2] as '{[Grupe proizvoda].[N4]}'
    set [Grupe proizvoda4] as 'Generate([Grupe proizvoda2], Descendants([Grupe proizvoda].currentmember, [Grupe proizvoda].Generations(4), leaves))'
    set [Segmentacija2] as '{[Segmentacija].[RETAIL]}'
    set [Segmentacija4] as 'Filter(Generate({[Segmentacija2]}, Descendants([Segmentacija].currentmember, [Segmentacija].Generations(4),SELF), ALL), ([Segmentacija].CurrentMember IS [Segmentacija].[AFFLUENT]))'
    set [Vrijeme3] as '{[Vrijeme].[MJESEC_4_2009]}'
    member [Segmentacija].[SegmentacijaCustomGroup]as 'Sum([Segmentacija4])', SOLVE_ORDER = AGGREGATION_SOLVEORDER
    member [Accounts].[MS1] as '(ParallelPeriod([Vrijeme].[Gen3,Vrijeme],2,[Vrijeme].currentmember), [Accounts].[Trosak kapitala])'
    member [Accounts].[MS2] as '(ParallelPeriod([Vrijeme].[Gen3,Vrijeme],1,[Vrijeme].currentmember), [Accounts].[Trosak kapitala])'
    member [Accounts].[MS3] as 'AGGREGATE({PeriodsToDate([Vrijeme].[Gen2,Vrijeme],[Vrijeme].currentmember)}, [Accounts].[Trosak kapitala])'
    select
    { [Accounts].[Trosak kapitala],
    [Accounts].[MS1],
    [Accounts].[MS2],
    [Accounts].[MS3]
    } on columns,
    NON EMPTY {crossjoin ({[Grupe proizvoda4]},{[Vrijeme3]})} properties ANCESTOR_NAMES, GEN_NUMBER on rows
    from [NISE.NISE]
    where ([Segmentacija].[SegmentacijaCustomGroup])
If you remove part with TODATE function, the results are fine. If you leave TODATE function, OBIEE returns an error mentioned above. If you manually modify variable SOLVE_ORDER and set value to, for example, 100 instead of AGGREGATION_SOLVEORDER, results are OK.
In all cases when this variable was modified in generated MDX, and query manually executed on Essabse, results were OK. This variable seems to be the possible problem.

  • Crystal reports 2013 , SAP MDX Driver not able to connect with BW BEX Query

    Hi All,
We just installed Crystal 2013, and want to create crystal report on SAP BW CUBE/BEX Query through SAP MDX Driver.
1.When start connecting through SAP MDX Query option from new connection , SAP Systems which are in SAPLOGON are not appearing in initial screen. where as from OLAP Connection we are able to connect to SAP BEX Query.
2.Even from SAP Tool kit we are not able to connect to BEX query, we are getting ERROR MESSAGE.
and we are using SAP BI BO PLATFORM 4.1 sp01 .
Please suggest me , if I am missing any configuration settings.
    Regards,
    Joseph

    Hi Joseph,
Before you start building the report, make sure the right transports have been loaded on the SAP System. The right Transport files are the ones found inside the installation zip you download from SAP's server. They're under the "Collaterals\Add-Ons\SAP\Transports" folder.
For more info on Transports, authorizations etc, please have your BASIS admin go through this wiki:
Crystal Reports 2008 and BW - Installation and Configuration - Business Intelligence (BusinessObjects) - SCN Wiki
To resolve your first issue, please follow the steps from this thread:
Problems with SAPLogon.ini for SAP GUI and Crystal 2011
P.S: Crystal Reports for Enterprise 4.1 does a better job at handling BEx queries that the CR 2013 designer. It directly connects to BEx queries via the BICS connectivity driver and doesn't need the Transports to be there on the SAP System. You might want to give this flavour of CR a try too.

    Hi,
I'm using Jdeveloper 11.1.1.4 and creating Oracle Fusion Web Application with ADF Business Components.
I want to use multiple selection on LOV in ADF Query Panel with Table, but I get the following error
when I use operator "Does not equal":
    Error: Unsupported model type.

  • MDX query runs on SQL but does not populate 'Measures' in Powerpivot

I ran MDX query on SQL 2012 for looking the products and their shipping status
    The code is given below:
    WITH
    set Date1 AS
         strtomember( "[Time].[2014].[Q4].[2014-Jun].[" +format(now()-2, "MM") + "/"+format(now()-2, "dd") + "/" +format(now()-2, "yyyy") + "]")
    set Item1 as
    { [Item].[ItemID].ALLMEMBERS}
    SELECT NON EMPTY { [Measures].[Shipped Qty], [Measures].[Shipped Amt], [Measures].[Ordered Qty], [Measures].[Ordered Amt] }
    ON COLUMNS,
    Date1*[Item1] ON ROWS FROM [ABCD]
     WHERE (
                 [Channel].&[OL],
                 [Geography].&[A.9])
The query gives desired output when run in SQL. But when I run the same query in while pulling data in PowerPivot, Dimensions i.e. Date and Item are populated but measures were not populated. Can anyone please help me understand how to populated Measures
    in PowerPivot?

    Hi apoorv,
It was hard to reproduce this issue on my test environment. I would suggest you try to use a simple MDX query to check if it will retrun the correct measures data. Please see the screenshot below:
In addition, you can also create a SQL Server Analysis Services trace to capture some events for furhter investigation.

  • Query transform with where condition not equal to

    All,
I have a two tables in a Data services job where I am using a Query transform to load the data from these two tables into another table. In the where tab in query transform i had a conditon saying table1.column1 <>  table2.column1 and table1.column2 <> table2.column2.
I need to see the record count of table1-table2 in my final thrid table, but I see more record count and also the not equal condition is failing. Its working for an equal condition but the not equal condition is failing.
The equivalent SQL query for the above transform has to be:
    select * from table1 inner join table2 on table1.column1 = table2.column1 where table1.column1 <> table2.column1 and
    table1.column2 <> table2.column2.
Any thoughs on how to fix my query transform.
    Thanks

    Hi
    As per your below statement
"I need to see the record count of table1-table2 in my final thrid table, but I see more record count and also the not equal condition is failing. Its working for an equal condition but the not equal condition is failing."
If you trying to get the records from table-1 which are not in table-2 (as you trying table1-table2)
you can try logic in query transformation where clause
    not table1.field1 in (table2.field1)
    and
    not table1.field2 in (table2.field2)
it gives you count from table1 only

  • MDX Query generated by CR does not work

    Hi Everybody,
    I'm running CR 12.3.0.601Client against SAP_BW 701on SAP EHP 1 for SAP NetWeaver 7.0.
I connect to the SAP System via <SAP BW MDX QUERY> and <Cubes> directly to a Multiprovider (as non of my Queries is populated below the Queries Node.)
The Multiprovider contains a basic balance sheet concept including a hierarchy for the balance positions I want to display in my report.
The structure of the Cube is populated correctly in the Field Explorer.
Accordingly I drag and drop the balance positons (figures for assets (100), currentassets(120), liabilities(80), etc...) and the balance position types (values for assets like 'A', currentassets 'CA', etc...) to the detailed section, what works fine so far.
However, as soon as I create a group on the NodeID I cannot see any data in the preview. By running the SQL Query, copied from Database->Show SQL Query Window in the Transaction MDXTEST I receive the error message below:

    Dominik

    Hey Ingo,
Google and Searches in SDN did not return any results for "_MEMBER_GET_FULL_2", but I'm thankful for other sites, you recommend ;).
Crystal Reports is Running on Version 12.3.0.601, ie. SP 3 without any FixPacks. Yet I'll run updates up to FP 3, just to be sure.
Moreover, I'm not really sure what you mean by
Did you also import the corresponding ABAP Transports ?
I can query the cube with a BEx Query, so everything should be in the system, right?
Just to be sure, please find the complete error message below. As a next step, I would try to find out, at what step the SAP program fails.

  • MDX query with a DMX query

    Hi All,
Do I have a way to run a MDX query with a DMX query? (Avoiding the “link server” options… )
I need to get the cube last update date like this DMX query:
    SELECT 1
    as CubeStatus
    FROM $System.MDSCHEMA_CUBES
    where
    format(LAST_DATA_UPDATE,
    'dd/MM/yyyy') = format(now(),
'dd/MM/yyyy')  --"1" means that the cube was processed, NULL cube did not process today
    and cube_source = 1
and cross reference it to a result I get from this MDX query:
    with
    member measures.LastDateCube
    as [Comm Date UTC].[Date].currentmember.PROPERTIES("KEY")
    select measures.LastDateCube
    on 0 from comms
the purpose of this is to know for sure that my current member (date integer) is equal to the cube last update date. thus, making sure the cube was processed and I get the correct member I expect.
    What do you think?
    Thank you
    Yoni.

    Hi yonibiel,
According to your description, you want to combine a DMX query with a MDX query. Right?
In SQL Server, it is not supported to parse the MDX query without connecting the SSAS database server. So if you want to combine the DMX and MDX query into one dataset, the only way is using linked server to SSAS in openquery() function.
In this scenario, if you render these data from two result sets for reporting purpose, I assume you using SSRS, you can create two datasets and use lookup() to combine data fields from two datasets into one data region.
