MDX query with DMV to get all cubes and aggregation row count on SSAS engine
Hi All,
How can I get all cube names on a SSAS engine server and count of number of aggregation rows in each cube ?
I got a DMV where it shows all catalogs names and description but where can I found aggregation row count of each cube.

SSAS 2008 CTP6 – new DMV $SYSTEM. DISCOVER_ OBJECT_ ACTIVITY
lists the memory usage and CPU time for each object i.e. cube, dimension, cache, measure, partition, etc. They also show which aggregations were hit or missed, how many times these objects were read, and how many rows were returned by them:
Discover_object_memory_usage and discover_object_activity

I need to get the cube last update date like this DMX query:

the purpose of this is to know for sure that my current member (date integer) is equal to the cube last update date. thus, making sure the cube was processed and I get the correct member I expect.

According to your description, you want to combine a DMX query with a MDX query. Right?
In SQL Server, it is not supported to parse the MDX query without connecting the SSAS database server. So if you want to combine the DMX and MDX query into one dataset, the only way is using linked server to SSAS in openquery() function.
In this scenario, if you render these data from two result sets for reporting purpose, I assume you using SSRS, you can create two datasets and use lookup() to combine data fields from two datasets into one data region.

I've just purchased an ipad2 and have synced it with Outlook to get all contacts, etc. I've set up the mail account and it is working just fine. The sync doesn't pull over legacy emails from Outlook and my Outlook has been set up to remove them from the webmail server therefore they aren't available from webmail anymore. Is there anyway to pull them over to the iPad?

project that I know isn't used on any timeline, but

I'd love to get some sort of "printout" (a list or
something) of every single file.
There is, go to browser and cntrl click on any one of the columns,
and select - show/source. A new column named "source" will pop up and will show where everything "lives". Click on the header at the top and it will justify the column as well. You'll notice this won't show anything for your seq.'s. of course, but will show stills/audio/motion files...
Once you have the new column, you can drag it next to the "name" column and get a grab of it and print it if you like, or whatever.
If you want to do this for just 1 seq., then can create a new bin and double click it to open it. Cntrl-A (select all) in your main seq. and just drag all into the new bin. You will see only what's in that seq. with the "source" column right next to it.
From what I've read, you seem to get the MM thing and it's obviously what you'll need to do to archive as the guys said. But what your missing is a file path system to where everything resides.

Problem with video, Quality gets all messed up
I'm burning a video thats about an hour and even minutes long, with about 3 short little extra videos on there that are about five minutes long each
I burned the DVD with best quality.
The Menus are fine, and two of the short videos are fine
but after like 5 minutes on the main video, it starts to get all distorted and chopy and all this green distortion comes up and its just a mess
I would burn it with best performance, but it says its to long for that
I NEED HELP!!QT and FCP show you different colors. You need to go into QT and enable FCP color compatibility. I believe it is in the SHOW MOVIE PROPERTIES, then the VIdeo track, then VISUAL SETTINGS. Somewhere in there.

You can use the transfer purchases feature to put the songs back into iTunes from the iPad - as long as the songs were purchased from iTunes.
Connect the iPad, launch iTunes and then right click on the iPad name under devices and select Transfer Purchases. But ..... Before you do that - turn off auto sync first.
Launch iTunes and the go to iTunes>Preferences>Devices>Prevent iPods, iPhones and iPads from syncing Automatically. Check the box at the bottom that says that. Then click OK. Then you can connect the iPad to the new Mac to transfer the purchases.
This will only work for music purchased from iTunes. If you have music ripped from CD's, you will need a third party app - like TouchCopy.
You can also download the songs again in iTunes as long as you use the same Apple ID. But read this about downloading past purchases as there are some restrictions based on where you live.

According to your descriptioin, I don't think this is system problem, it should be Intel driver problem. It would be contact Intel to confirm this issue whether this is their driver problem.

the problem is the big for all entries table.
Your 20.000 records FAE will be split into SEVERAL sql statements depending on the size of the table.
Where do you get the it_auftrn from?
If it's another transparent table try to JOIN this table to your big table.

Excel Generating MDX Query With Crossjoins

I am having performance issues while using excel to browse SSAS cube.
I ran the pro filer and captured the MDX queries and query which excel has auto generated has lot of cross joins
All i am doing is selecting 3 attributes in a dimension and i can't understand why excel is choosing to use cross joins
Can any one please give me some options on how to make excel not use cross joins ?

According to your description, you find Excel using a lot of CROSSJOIN when driving data from cube. It caused bad performance and you want to avoid it. Right?
This is a known issue in Excel, it uses a certain template to build the cross join. It uses DrillDown.... functions for complex user filter selection when doing drill down. It's the default behavior of Excel and it hasn't been fixed yet.
In this scenario, I suggest you build user hierarchy in your cube and use it in Excel when retrieving data into pivot table.

VO query with SQL table function (MS SQL) and update of parameter value

I use VO where Query is the SQL function that returns a table (MS SQL Server):
select * from getData('XXXX')
where ‘ХХХХ’ should be binded to the specific ID (e.g. selected row in the tree view on the another facet).
More details: I have two facets. Left facet contains a tree view that displays the list of the projects grouped by industry. Right facet contains a pivot table (source query is a ‘table function’ from above).
I want to have the pivot table (right facet) to be updated with the data specific to the project (selected row in the tree).
I know about the possibility to dynamically update the where clause (setNamedWhereClauseParam method), but in my case there is no ‘where’ clause. Is there any kind of ‘bind variable’ to be used to refresh the data?
Any guidance, ideas, examples are greatly welcome.

AnatolAre the columns that are being selected different each time or the same?
If they are the same then you don't need to do any additional binding - the pivot table is connected to the VO at design time and it wouldn't care if the underlying from/where have changed.
If on the other hand your columns change (but the number of them stay the same) then use aliases for the initial definition (select ename a, id b, salary c) and then when you change the VO change the mapping but keep the names (select dname a, moo b, foo c).
If the whole query is changing and you don't know in advance the structure - then there is no out of the box solution with a pivot table - you'll need to code a backing bean that will provide the data model to the pivot table based on your query.
