Menu image viewer help
I purchased an accordion style image viewer for a client here
http://activeden.net/item/flexible-xml-accordion-gallery/34133
this looks great but I did not realize that you can only link this file thru it's xml file which allows only external urls or swfs.
I need to link the images in the file to separate frames inside an .swf
I was able to copy the file into my main.swf but I still need to link each image to a frame.
The AS in the file is a ton of code, I need a solution, anybody?
rrr
Kylven,
I found your post because I have the same problem. I also saw
that notbody suggested a solution, so I'm going to use my second
choice: Photoshop.
You have to know Photoshop a little, but here's the quick
version:
1. Put each image on its own layer.
2. Create an animation with each layer showing for 5 seconds.
You'll have to add a tween for the transitions.
3. Export the animation as a Flash file. (available since at
least CS2).
I'm going to do that in the next few days, so if you want
more specifics, let me know, and I'll send you some details after
I've gone through it again myself. I know it works, though the
transitions can be a little choppy. You can see an example here:
http://www.bayareainjury.com/
The changing images on the home page was created that way.

Please help - image viewer help needed
hi
can anyone plase help
I am building a CSS site and want a simple image viewer -
just one image viewing in a box with >> and << buttons
for the user to scroll through images. I know that dreamweaver has
a built in Image viewer but it does not work properly. It will not
go back to the first image after it has gone forward to the next
images. Even the tutorial does this.
Does anyone know why this happens or can anyone direct me to
a good tutorial that will provide instructions for this?
I know that there are many add ons to deal with this but it
is only a small function that I should be able to produce myself.
Many ThanksIf you're building a CSS site you might not want to use
Flash. Try Googling
for "lightbox". If you have a development budget, you might
also want to

I am using a spry horizontal menu.
Two problems I am trying to fix:
1. The drop down menus shift to the right in IE7 on PC
instead of coming up directly below the parent menu item.
2. The drop down menus overlap an 'image viewer flash
element' area and struggle to stay on top when the slide show is
playing. Is there a way to make them drop down over the flash area
or will that always conflict?
I am very new to Dreamweaver--I stalled on switching over
from GoLive which I have used since 1997.
Thanks for any help. I feel like a newbie all over again!

background-image: url(../images/signs.jpg);
background-repeat: no-repeat;
position: relative;
height: 210px;
width: 745px;
Try making that rule like this -
#comp_image {
background-image: url(../images/signs.jpg);
background-repeat: no-repeat;
position: relative;
height: 210px;
width: 745px;
overflow:hidden;
Does that help? I believe what's causing the gap is the top margin on the <h1> tag which will 'escape' the container. By making the container a new block formatting context with the overflow style, you can prevent the margin from escaping. Alternatively, just add this rule -
#comp_image h1 {
margin-top:0; -
Dreamweaver Doesn't have "image viewer" on Insert Menu!
Hi Guys!
could you please help me to know how come my Dreamweaver doesn't have "image viewer" on the insert menu.Today I was was going to do some tutorial which I find out thers is no "Image Viewer" and even Flash option on my insert/media,as you can see from attached screen shot .
Best RegardsYes. I said from CS4 onwards. CS5 came after CS4 and the Image Viewer is still discontinued. Adobe wants you to use Bridge for these kinds of features.

Menu selection: Insert / Media / Image Viewer does not exists
Hi,
I cannot see menu Insert / Media / Image Viewer
What am I missing?
My version is from
"Adobe Creative Suite 6 Design & Web Premium"
--BRHIt doesn't exist in CS6. Adobe discontinued this feature because DW is not an image gallery creation tool. It's web authoring software.
If you can work with jQuery, there are dozens of image gallery & slideshow plugins you could use that are much nicer.

Widget: Flash Slideshow (Image Viewer) - Modifications Help!
I created a Flash photo slideshow using Dreamweaver CS3's Insert > Media > Image Viewer. It can be seen here: http://cba.ua.edu/~ckent/ImageViewer/imageviewer.html.
All and only relevant files can be found in the following directory: http://cba.ua.edu/~ckent/Image_Viewer/.
Then, I added a Web Widget to my iWeb '08 site, using the entire code from image_viewer.html as the HTML Snippet (after changing relative links to absolute). Everything works beautifully.
However, I have a few questions for you Flash aficionados out there:
1. Is there a simple way to modify the code such that the images appear at random, instead of in the same order every time? Dreamweaver does not provide this as an option. I can do this easily with PHP, but of course that is not allowed with iWeb, so I'm looking for a quick and non-complex technique to add to/modify the existing code.
2. The images load quickly for normal bandwidth speeds, though with slower connections you sometimes see the loading dialog for a second or two. Is there any preload or other technique I could use to alleviate this?
3. Look at this page: http://cba.ua.edu/~ckent/ImageViewer/image_vieweralt.html. The green is a border that exists due to left-over space where titles and captions were supposed to be presented. Everything has been adjusted such that the minimum amount of space is left within the border. The images are 640x360, but the Flash element has to be set at 654x380 to display the full image size.
Is there anyway to completely collapse the border around the image viewer? I think this is a function of the actual SWF file, so I doubt it is easily possible considering Dreamweaver creates it on the fly.Download the template I made and posted on this thread, should get you started,

Slides - Image Viewer - Netscape
Hello,
I have a 5 picture slide show on my page

What can I do to fix this problem, and also how can I make it

I'm glad things are working out.
You're going to have to do some housework I think before
going any further!
On each page at the bottom you have this:
</html>
<!-- text below generated by server. PLEASE REMOVE

Counter/Statistics data collection code --><script

src="

alt="setstats" border="0" width="1"
height="1"></noscript>
You're going to have to remove it - nothing should be below
</html>. You
won't see it locally, only in the remote files.

I'm not sure I know what you mean by the "keys" - maybe menu
items?
You've used the DW menus which are not recommended for a
number of reasons.
If you are going to do more websites you'll get a number of
recommendations
here. In the meantime I can't troubleshoot them - I think the
menu is a part
of your problem.
Can you point to specific pages and exact problems? Maybe
someone here cam
be of more help.
Image Viewer - sorry, I've never used it. I don't think in
fact that it *is*
widely used. Hopefully somebody here can help with this. On
this page (for
instance)
http://www.interweb39.com/photo-p.htm
You've used Fireworks to create your tables and I can't see
my way to help
with it, there's an awful lot of code that Fireworks
generates.
Sorry I haven't been able to help a lot with this one! Post
back after
removing the Yahoo stuff, it could make a difference.
Also, let us know the problems with specific pages.

How do I edit image viewer slideshow created in CS3, in CS4?
I apologize for posting this twice...once in a previous post and once here. The reason being...the other post was old (2008) and I'm afraid it might get overlooked. So I thought I'd create a new discussion.
I created a bunch of slideshows in CS3 using Insert - Media - Image Viewer. I was looking for an easy way for my client to update the site themselves. Even though it creates a Flash element, it is easy for them to go in and switch out the images. All they do is click on the slideshow box, hit Window - Tag Inspector and click on the little folder at the side of the Image URLs' line. Nothing could be simpler. Well...I went in to see my client to show her how to do this but she has CS4. When I tried to do the same thing, nothing looked the same. The tag inspector did not have the same elements in it at all. Does this mean she cannot edit the slideshows I have created? Ugh...
If anyone can help with a work around to this...I'd be very grateful!
Thanks.
PamThanks for your reply via e-mail David. I tried to reply but it's a no reply address so I'm posting here:
Do you happen to know if my client who has CS4 would be able to open the slideshows I created in CS3 using the method mentioned here:
http://help.adobe.com/en_US/Bridge/3.0/WSCF044571-2772-4d28-9EBD-2C9F46AF008A.html
Not having CS4, I can't even play around with it to see. Or will the slideshows have to be recreated in CS4? Has my work in CS3 over the months gone to waste in other words?
Alternatively, would it be better for us both to purchase a $29 Dreamweaver extension such as the one below, so we could both access the slideshow from CS3 and CS4 at the same time?
http://www.dwuser.com/flashslideshow/v3/
I need to keep building the new site using the slideshows while she maintains the old site (no slideshows) until we upload the new site this summer. I don't want to continue building slideshows she cannot access.
Thanks a lot for your help!

How do I change Text Colour in a Spreadsheet? The Help menu doesn't help.
Simple question whcih i cannot find the simple answer to: How do I change Text Colour in a Spreadsheet? The Help menu doesn't help.
Hi Lecia,
You have several choices.
Use the first set of controls in the Format Bar. One of these is a Color well (red in the image). Select the cell(s) in which you want the text coloured, then click the well to open its Color palette, and choose your colour.
Use the Text Inspector. Open the inspector, click the Text button (T), and use the tools there (similar to the set in the Format Bar).
Press command-T to open the Fonts Window. This offers a few more options than are available in the Inspector or the Format bar.
Regarding "Help": I'd recommend using the Numbers '09 User Guide, which you can download via the Help menu. Easier to search, and easier reading than the individual Help articles. search 'text color' to quickly get to instructions on applying colour to text.

The issue here is the mapping of the interface to the service in question, and usually points to a possible mistype or rename of something within your service architecture.
You need to make sure your namespace and service name here match your service name itself.

Why does my flash image viewer look different in firefox than in IE...
So I have created a horizontal spry bar that overlaps a flash image viewer slide show. When i load the page in IE everything works fine, but as soon as you open it in firefox it works improperly...you can hit refresh in firefox and sometimes it resizes the image I don't understand how that is possible....if you have any input it would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!
You need to be aware of the limitations of the various browsers and make sure you use web-safe fonts and colors.....
http://www.iwebformusicians.com/WebMusic/FontsandColors.html
Do a Command A on all your pages in iWeb to make sure that objects/text boxes are not touching or overlapping.
Firefox has problems with displaying drop shadows/frames etc.
To get help with specific issues you would need to tell us the URL of our site. -
How can i make a simple image viewer in JAVA?
i know this is a silly doubt...but 'm new to java
i have to make an image viewer which can also zoom the image
please help me
advance thanxCreate an java.awt.Image object
Display it in a java.awt.Panel object
using java.awt.Graphics.drawImage
some of the drawImage methods let you scale, clip, and flip the image.
That's AWT. It may be easier in Swing.
I think this could be written in under 50 lines of code. Maybe under 25.
Read the tutorials and the API. All will become clear.
If you're new to java, you might be better off posting to the New To Java forum. -
