Menu titles scaling fault

Could I please be put forward to a technician from Adobe. I have tried to use the call service, it will not support me as I have adobe CS6. I was recommended to use the chat instead. On chat I have been told I need to talk to someone on the forum. Each referall has been more frustrating as I really need to have a conversation with someone but here we go.
I have installed Adobe CS6 a few months ago. There was no warning of an accessibility issue but the menu icons are too small to read (approximately 4 pt). The dropdown menus are OK but the icons and menu bar is not. Adobe indesign works fine, so does acrobat pro but the issue persists with illustrator and photoshop (which I am most likely to use).
I have found out from various googling that the only true solution is:
A) To upgrade to the creative cloud
B) To hack into my computers registry. Apparently the fault is that adobe sends a message to windows telling it that it can scale up its menu icons appropriately...when it can't.
Obviously I am not happy with these solutions as
A) I have already paid hundreds of pounds on this software package only a few months ago. And if you are still eligible to buy a faulty software online now it should be patched and fixed. Also, I am a student, I can not necessarily afford monthly direct debits from my account, and if i cannot afford them I will not be able to access the work and will fail my masters in architecture.
B) Again, I am not happy with hacking into the registry as it could damage my computer...
So please could you provide me with a patch to make this scaling possible.
Thank you

Hi Trevor,
You can set the resolution to be lower, and I am sure millions of people do not have a problem as they do not have a high resolution monitor in the first place (it works fine for me on my other computer). The fact is that if you buy a software marketed for professionals, why should you have to lower the quality of your computer in order to make it work? Especially as there is a fix available for CS6 for mac, but not for PC. Adobe acrobat and indesign scales up fine, and they are in the same package, so your assumption that it cannot be done is wrong. Windows is clever enough to scale up icons for you, the fault is in adobe as it communicates to windows and says 'do not scale it up! We can deal with it!' when it can't. Of course I wouldn't have assumed that it would do something that silly!

  • Menu/Title page of DVD blurry

    I have a new MacBookPro and just tried to burn my first DVD in iDVD8.
    I used 7.0 Themes - Centerstage.
    When I playback the DVD, the text on the main menu/title page looks fuzzy.
    Not crisp like in iDVD.
    I checked the DVD on:
    '08 MacBookPro, 1440x900x32bit
    '09 iMac, 1680x1050x32bit
    When I play the DVD full screen, it looks fuzzy.
    If I shrink the window to 1/4 of the screen size, it then looks OK.

    Hi
    Way out of my doing HD 16x9 but any how I got a list on DVD quality - read and
    see if You find anything of use.
    *DVD quality*
    1. iDVD 08 & 09 has three levels of qualities.
    iDVD 6 has the two last ones
    • Professional Quality (movies up to 120 min.) - BEST
    • Best Performances (movies less than 60 min.) - High quality on final DVD
    • High Quality (in iDVD08 or 09) / Best Quality (in iDVD6) (movies up to 120 min.) - slightly lower quality than above
    2. From
    • FCE/P - Export out as full quality QuickTime.mov (not selfcontaining, no conversion)
    • iMovie x-6 - Don't use ”Share/Export to iDVD” = destructive even to movie project and especially so
    when the movie includes photos. Instead just drop or import the iMovie movie project icon (with a Star on it) into iDVD theme window.
    • iMovie’08 not meant to go to iDVD. Go via Media Browser or rather use iMovie HD 6 from start.
    3. I use Roxio Toast™ to make an as slow burn as possibly eg x1 (in iDVD’08 or 09 this can also be set)
    This can also be done with (Apple) Disk Util tool.
    4. There has to be about or more than 25Gb free space on internal (start-up) hard disk. iDVD can't
    use an external one as scratch disk (if it is not start-up disc).
    5. Verbatim ( also recommended by many - Taiyo Yuden DVDs - I can’t get hold of it to test )
    6. DVD-R (no +R or +/-RW)
    7. Keep NTSC to NTSC - or - PAL to PAL when going from iMovie to iDVD
    8. Don’t burn more than three DVD at a time - but let the laser cool off for a while befor next batch.
    iDVD quality also depends on.
    • HOW much free space is there on Your internal (start-up) hard disk. Go for approx 25Gb.
    less than 5Gb and Your result will most probably not play.
    • What kind of movie project You drop into it. MPEG4 seems to be a bad choice.
    other strange formats are .avi, .wmv, .flash etc. Convert to streamingDV first
    Also audio formats matters. I use only .aiff or from miniDV tape Camera 16-bit
    strange formats often problematic are .avi, .wmv, audio from iTunes, .mp3 etc
    Convert to .aiff first and use this in movie project
    • What kind of standard - NTSC movie and NTSC DVD or PAL to PAL - no mix.
    (If You need to change to do a NTSC DVD from PAL material let JESDeinterlacer3.2.2 do the conversion)
    (Dropping a PAL movie into a NTSC iDVD project
    (US) NTSC DVDs most often are playable in EU
    (EU) PAL DVDs most often needs to be converted to play in US
    UNLESS. They are plabacked by a Mac - then You need not to care
    • What kind of DVDs You are using. I use Verbatim DVD-R (this brand AND no +R or +/-RW)
    • How You encode and burn it. Two settings prior iDVD’08 or 09
    Pro Quality (only in iDVD 08 & 09)
    Best / High Quality (not always - most often not)
    Best / High Performances (most often my choise)
    1. go to iDVD pref. menu and select tab far right and set burn speed to x1 (less errors = plays better) - only in iDVD 08 & 09
    2. Project info. Select Professional Encoding - only in iDVD 08 & 09.
    Region codes.
    iDVD - only burn Region = 0 - meaning - DVDs are playable everywhere
    DVD Studio pro can set Region codes.
    1 = US
    2 = EU

  • I am unable to see menu titles in itunes

    Hye, I am unabvle to see the menu titles in itunes on window7.

    One thing you should definitely try is keeping your iPhone 4 connected via USB cable in your computer and restarting.  This should make the computer recognize that it is connected and as long as you have your iTunes set up to automatically open upon connection with your iPhone you should be all set!

  • How do I show what menu title is active, e.g. current page, in spry navigation?

    How do I show what menu title is active, e.g. current page, in spry navigation?
    See website http://dorsay-easton-indian-law.com/index.html
    I want to have Home menu title have a different color when on index.html and so on. I keep using the term "active" for that, and "hover" for mouseover. Is that correct? And what do I need to do so that my menu displays an indication of which page is the current one?

    The CSS pseudo-classes in order are:
    a = any link
    a:link = an unvisited link (normal state)
    a:visited = a link after it has been visited
    a:hover = on mouseover
    a:active = on click
    a:focus = reached with tab key

  • What is the menu title to show original file to map to keyboard shortcut

    Does anyone know what "menu title" to use for File > Show in Finder for a keyboard shortcut?
    I just updated to itunes 10 and discovered my keyboard shortcut CMD-R to show the original file is broken and no longer works. Apparently Apple changed it to CMD-Shift-R. This is no longer consistent with the way CMD-R shows the original file in the Finder or in the search results and I want to set it back using the keyboard shortcut system preferences.
    When I select itunes and put in the menu title "Show in Finder" which is what it displays with CMD-Shift-R it changes in the menu, but it doesn't work and then neither does CMD-Shift-R. quiting and restarting itunes makes no difference.
    Does anyone know of a fix?
    Thanks.

    I tried to do something similar in Firefox for mapping copy to F3. I tried the methods you used even tried a keymapping plugin for Firefox as well as the suggestions below. None of them worked and I could only conclude that some applications have functions coded into them in some ways we cannot change.

  • How do I make the menu title a different color when it is the active menu in Spry horizontal menu?

    How do I make the menu title a different color when it is the active menu in Spry horizontal menu?
    Dreamweaver CS5.5
    Apple OS X.6.8
    View site at: http://dorsay-easton-indian-law.com/staging/index.html
    Steps:
    1. Click link to land on Home page
    2. View Home link in Spry horizontal navigation menu
    Actual:
    Home menu title is the same color as all of the others.
    Expected:
    The title of the active menu is       color: #FFC.
    I was hoping that a:active would give me this functionality, but that's not how it is described. Any suggestions are welcome!

    Nothing I have tried in the template makes the BODY tag editable. That's why I'm wondering how to disconnect the template from the individual pages. Adding an ID to each body tag is a prerequisite of the how-to page you supplied.
    You don't make the <body> tag editable in a Template.
    You make attributes of the <body> tag editable.
    Don't disconnect the Template from the child pages.
    Specify editable tag attributes in a template
    http://help.adobe.com/en_US/dreamweaver/cs/using/WScbb6b82af5544594822510a94ae8d65-7aa3a.h tml
    In the Template:
    Select the <body> tag (either in the Tag selector or click inside the <body> tag in Code View)
    Modify > Templates > Make Attribute Editable
    Select ID from the Attribute dropdown menu
    If there's no existing ID attribute then click Add and type ID into the next dialogue box
    Attribute: ID
    Check the box to "Make attribute editable"
    Enter anything into the Label field as a default e.g. foo
    OK
    Dreamweaver will change the <body> tag to read <body id="@@(foo)@@"....
    Now the ID is editable
    Save the Template and update the child page
    In each child page:
    Modify > Template Properties
    Select the id attribute from the list (it's probably the only one listed)
    Change its name in the box to whatever name matches your CSS rule for the active state for that page
    OK
    Save
    Upload

  • [SOLVED] OpenBox3 menu title

    I can't figure out how to get the openbox  menu title to disapear, so that it will only show the programs. I'm using the Dyne theme from Lyrae on box-look.org, and the screenshots don't show a menu title, but mine does. The arch.blue theme works correctly and doesn't show the title. I copied what I thought was the right section from the themerc file from arch.blue to dyne, reinstalled it as dyne-custom and it didn't work. Any ideas?

    At the top of ~/.config/openbox/menu.xml, look for this:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <openbox_menu>
    <menu id="root-menu" label="OpenBox 3">
    <separator label="Openbox" />
    What you want to do is comment out or remove the <separator /> tag, like so:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <openbox_menu>
    <menu id="root-menu" label="OpenBox 3">
    <!-- <separator label="Openbox" /> -->
    Alternatively, if you'd like to show the separator, but omit a label, just remove the text in the label string:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <openbox_menu>
    <menu id="root-menu" label="OpenBox 3">
    <separator label="" />

  • Menu title fonts in PSE 12.

    I just purchased, downloaded and installed PSE 12. I am running Windows 7. Everything seems to be working fine. My question is this: Why are the titles in tlhe menu bar (task bar?) at the top so small?
    When you actually pull down the menu it is fine but the titles (file, edit, image, filters etc) are extremely
    small and very hard to see. Any ideas? Also the path selection tool is just a dot (actually two tiny dots)
    and not the normal cursor arrow. Any ideas on that?

    Most likely you have the system dpi scalling set higher than the default (100%) and since pse 12 doesn't pat any attention to that in most of the interface, things
    will look smaller than they do in windows programs that do pay attention to system dpi scaling.
    The dpi scaling can also cause problems with the cursor in pse 12; as in you see what looks like a triple cursor.
    How to set the dpi scaling:
    (you can also try 149% or 124%)

  • Limitation on number of roles in oracle menu or segmentation fault in menu

    Hi All,
    Is there any limitation on the number of roles we can have in oracle menu? We are having around 300 roles created in our menu and after that if we try to add new role we are not able to compile the menu file. In the windows the form builder closes abruptly and in Linux it gives us segmentation fault error. Did anyone face the problem? Also if there is any solution then please provide the same.
    Please let me know.
    Thanks in advance!
    Ashish

    I just wonder how many forms do you have that you needed to create 300 roles. We normally create a role for one set of users. It means you've 300 different set of users for your application !!.

  • Spry horizontal menu titles

    Ok here is my problem. I am using the spry horizontal menu and am trying to make a list of drop down menus. Rather than having sub menus that have flyout child menus I just want to have a list of menus that have titles.
    Basically What I want would be something like this
    Header
    Title
         Link
         Link
         Link
    Title2
         Link
         Link
         Link
    rather than:
    Header
    Title >   Link
                Link
                Link
    Title2 > Link
                Link
                Link
    However, I can't figure out how to make my titles just be plain titles, rather than links. As it stands, when I hover over my titles, spry can't differentiate them from the actual links that will go to different pages.
    I don't really care if they are still links, I can work around that. I guess my question is, is there a way to change the CSS so that some of the submenus look different then others
    (ex. titles don't change font or background color but the rest of them highlight in blue)
    Hope this makes sense,
    Thanks in advance

    Something like this?
    <ul id="MenuBar1" class="MenuBarVertical">
      Title
      <li><a href="#">Link</a></li>
      <li><a href="#">Link</a></li>
      <li><a href="#">Link</a></li>
    </ul>
    <ul id="MenuBar2" class="MenuBarVertical">
      Title 1
      <li><a href="#">Link</a></li>
      <li><a href="#">Link</a></li>
      <li><a href="#">Link</a></li>
    </ul>
    <script>
    var MenuBar1 = new Spry.Widget.MenuBar("MenuBar1", {imgRight:"SpryAssets/SpryMenuBarRightHover.gif"});
    var MenuBar2 = new Spry.Widget.MenuBar("MenuBar2", {imgRight:"SpryAssets/SpryMenuBarRightHover.gif"});
    </script>
    I hope this helps.

  • Menu titles not going in order

    Is there a way to make the DVD directional remote go to the next title in order that it's on the DVD and not the closest title to the previous one in the menu graphic?    In this case, I want the right toggle to go from "let's go" to "sit."  Any idea?
    Thanks!

    It is called "button routing." When the buttons are nicely lined up, "automatic" (the default) usually works well. But sometimes not.
    In the menu viewer, click on the icon for "routing." This will show you what "number" each button is, and what number button each remote arrow click will go to.
    You can turn automatic routing off, and drag these numbers to set the remote as you wish.

  • C3-01 Menu and Shortcut Fault

    I've had a C3-01 since Jan. Generally pleased, but in May the Menu and Goto buttons stopped reacting and the shortcut icons disappeared. Very frustrated - any suggestions, please?

    I dont Believe It, I got my C3-01 Device From a Retailer Nokia Shop Since 3 Months Now, and Its Working LIKE A CHARM, no error or faults found yet in my device, Except the FW does not contain some Major Features, but thats a different story.
    If you Have a Problem with Touch Pad, then Get your device Replaced, because then thats the only choice, But i guess you should 1st Install the Latest FW Update by Nokia i.e. v06.05
    No Errors Found by me, just to let you all know, i use my device to the Utmost extend it can get.

  • DVD menu title selection on DVD player with DVD's burn from iDVD

    Regarding DVDs burned with iDVD 6.0.3, I have burned multiple DVDs with 6 buttons on the main menu page each of which links to a short film. On the menu screen when I push the right arrow button on the DVD remote not all the menu buttons light up. In addition to pushing the right arrow button on the remote, I have to push the up or down arrow button on the remote (to the DVD player hooked up to the TV) to get to some of the buttons in my DVD menu to be selectable. The buttons are arranged by me in a grid sort of pattern. Is there a way in iDVD I can get all the buttons to be selectable using only the right or left arrow keys on the DVD player remote? Do you understand what I am asking?

    Hi powerbookaid
    And welcome to apple discussions. It's actually difficult to find standalone versions on ebay and CL / Apple's FCP and DVDSP. I found them myself but it took me a very long time. Not always something you can do overnight. But if you are very patient something will show up eventually.
    If you need something now that works (although I advise caution as in backup your dvd or video_TS first) then consider this app for much less money (donationware):

  • Changing menu/title in Mac OS X

    I learned how to move the Swing menu to the top of the page*, but the left most menu item item still shows as the fully qualified class name of my application object, e.g. "com.dink.donk.MyApp". I would like to change that to just "MyApp" but I can't find the API or the property or whatever to do that. Anybody here have the answer?
    * to do this just System.setProperty("apple.laf.useScreenMenuBar", "true"); in your startup() method.

    I saw that in the Apple programmer's guide -- the problem is that this attribute is external to the JAR file that I want to deploy. The attribute is on the command line.
    It turns out the answer (I haven't learned how to do it yet) is to bundle the Java application in a format specific to MacOS -- you don't just send the user a JAR file to deploy. Annoying but I'm not going to fight it.
