Message Handling in BADI implementation

Hi All,
Initially I was trying to use an EXIT but was not able to do so because we were not getting the functionality properly. So i switched to BADI.
I have implemented a standard BADI and its working fine. Now i want to display messages as required but I am not able to display the messages on the screen whenever the BADI is trigerred and we are getting Output terminated as message . PLease let me know how to handle the messages so that proper messages can be displayed as required.

Hi Sharad,
Raising messages from within BAdis is not a good choice and from the look of it , it appears to be causing a dump.
Look if the BAdi interface has any exceptions defined for the method, if so, raise the exception with your message like:
MESSAGE e002(sy) WITH 'Error' RAISING <badi_exception>.

Okay, I will have a window open with 4 tabs open. I then have to shut down all both old and new windows and open a new window with my original 4 tabs again. It will work fine until a few days pass and it starts over again.

After updating Firefox I am getting this message any time I do anything "Exc in ev handl:Error: Bad NPObject as private data"

This error happens each time I use Mozilla. especially when I click on an extension or try to work in any of my e-mail accounts (Yahoo, Gmail, or RCN). Sometimes I am able to continue by just clicking OK and other times it prevents me from completing my task. This started happening right after I downloaded and installed your latest version of Firefox. I see others are having the same problem. EEWB error message BADI implementation

Hi,
I am getting the following error message when I run the wizard in EEWB to create new fields:
Task CRM_BTX_ADD_NEW_FIELDS
creating of BADI Implementation "ZCRM_RF_0701" failed
I am trying to add new fields in Activities.
This system is a copy of production client. There is no EEWB project or extension created in this system. We are using this system as a sandbox. We wanted to create some new fields here in this system by crating a new project and extension but when I run the wizard to create the new fields it is giving me the above error message at the time of Generation
Anyone has any idea how to resolve this ?

Resolved the issue myself. Its the problem with the workbench request i was using.

Why, when have more than one tab on Firefox it generates message Exc in ev handl: Error: Bad NPObject as private data! which then opens each site in a new browser

I like to work with about 6 tabs open on Firefox and typically this has been absolutely fine. Starting around November 2011 each time I have multiple tabs open when I open a new gmail message, or open an order or any other action within an open page a message pops up that reads
Exc in ev handl: Error: Bad NPObject as private data!
then that site immediately opens in a new browser window.
I do not have this issue with Google Chrome or Internet Explorer but I would rather use Firefox. I ran McAfee an extra time thinking it might be a virus but that did not help. Any ideas?

Populating the error message (BAdI implementation)

Hi there,
I have a BAdI to implement CRM_ORDERADM_H_BADI where it will check certain header data. If there is a certain condition that is met, we must not allow the transaction to continue by adding error message on the top (the red button). How can we populate this error log within the BAdI implementation (putting it in codes in the method of the BAdI implementation).

Use CRM_MESSAGE_COLLECT to add your message, CRM_MESSAGE_DELETE to delete the old message from the log.

SOAP APIs needed to extract SOAP request arguments for message handler implementation

1. I am facing problem in using the Message Handler approach for the implementation
of webservices using SOAP on BEA weblogic 8.1. A SOAP request(XML format) can
be interrupted using the message handler and hence can be modified before it invokes
the webservice method. I have been able to successfully extract the SOAP Name
space xml format as a part of the SOAP request using the APIs given below
APIs:
SOAPBody body = env.getBody();
Name Spaces format:
<m:sayHello xmlns:m="http://www.bea.com/servers/wls70/samples/examples/webservices/basic/statelessSession">
<intVal xsi:type="xsd:int">100</intVal>
<string xsi:type="xsd:string">vikas</string>

as an integer and a string. I have not been able to find the SOAP APIs to extract
these arguments from the SOAP Body.

(org.w3c.dom.Node, org.w3c.dom.Element)
So the code snippet written as a part of point 2 will not be compiled(give compilation
error) using the webservice.jar of Weblogic 8.1.
4. I have tried to compile the same code using the saaj-1_2-fr-api.jar (SOAP 1.2
apis jar) which I have downloaded from java.sun site. And the code got successfully
compiled.
In this latest version of SOAP APIs jar the SOAPBody interface implements both
the SOAP as well as XML parser Apis.
5. I was not able to run this code on the Weblogic server , bcoz at the runtime
weblogic 8.1 is using its webservice.jar instead of saaj-1_2-fr-api.jar. And
this code was giving me runtime error as
java.lang.NoSuchMethodError: javax.xml.soap.SOAPBody.getChildNodes()Lorg/w3c/dom/NodeList;
(see Fault Detail for stacktrace)</faultstring>
So now I need to find out the version of the webservice.jar of Weblogic 8.1 which
supports SOAP Apis as well as XML parser apis.

You can use the SAAJ APIs to get the child nodes.
Example here:

so instead of using body.getChildNodes(), you have to use
body.getChildElements() which returns an iterator of SOAPElements.

Since I upgraded my Firefox..whenever I click on a link i get this error message...Java Script Exc in ev handl: Error: Bad NPObject as private data! Then I have to click ok to get the page to open.

BAdI implementation FIAA_BW_DELTA_UPDATE inactive in source system DEV

Hi all.
I'm trying to execute an infopackage to get 0ASSET (texts delta initialization). But it shows me the next error message: "BAdI implementation FIAA_BW_DELTA_UPDATE inactive in source system DEV".
But when I look at this BADI implementation in the source system (Transaction code se19) there are no errors on it.
"BAdI implementation FIAA_BW_DELTA_UPDATE does not contain any errors".
Do somebody knows what's happenning?

Unable to display information message written inside badi

Hi All,
In customer creation i want to display Info message after pessing save button. I have written the message inside the badi. I can see my message in debugging mode in status bar, which on debugging mode off can't able to see. I tried with more than 25 scenarios got from SDN forum as well as suggested by someone.
Please reply if u have implemented sucessfully the same kind of reqirement.

I wrote message inside the method preset sale area of badi customer_add_data.
The message ls "Message 'some text' type 'I' "
In debugging mode when the cursor reaches to my message then as soon as i press F5, this message get displayed in the status bar and with one more F5 it disappears.
So like this i wrote that the message appears only in fraction of second that when without debugging mode i process the transaction it doesn't appears and i can't see this.

Sending Email using cl_bcs from a badi implementation

Hi,
I have written my code to send Email, inside AFTER_SAVE method of BADI Implementation of DOCUMENT_MAIN01.
Now this method of cl_bcs requires COMMIT WORK for the mail to be sent. And inside BADI implementation, we cannot write a COMMIT statement.
What is a workaround for this? While going through few other posts, I came across remote enabled FMs.
Is that the only way? Can I use some additions like STARTING NEW TASK etc. Following is the call used in case of cl_bcs:
   CALL METHOD G_REF_SEND_REQUEST->SEND(
          EXPORTING
            I_WITH_ERROR_SCREEN = 'X'

For that I implemented PROCESS_ITEM method which fires during each row now i add another validation in same implementation for plant should be same through out the all line item. Now following code is woking fine but when for second line item user changese plant then it shows error message as per logic which is fine but even after changing plant to correct one the error message is still coming why is it so?

Since you want to compare all items together (having the same plant) I would suggest to implement this logic either in method CHECK or POST of the interface.
However, if you want to make your checks within the PROCESS_ITEM method then you should change your logic.
It does not make sense to work with the ABAP memory within a BAdI implementing class because the class itself is your "memory".
I would use the following logic to implement your validation:
lo_poheader = im_item->get_header( ). " retrieve header instance
lt_items = lo_poheader->get_items( ).   " retrieve all items
ls_detail_x = im_item->get_detail( ). " details of currently processed item
LOOP AT lt_items INTO ls_item.
