Message routing for IDoc to IDoc scenario

Hello Colleagues,
i have to configure a IDoc scenario R/3 > XI > (R/3 Test or R/3 QA), Messagetype PROJECT > INTERNAL_ORDER and have one Question regarding the message routing. The sending R/3 system transmit in some cases IDocs to the test R/3 and in other cases to the QA R/3.
How is the best practice to setup the message routing for this scenario.
I would prefer to do this by means of Partner Profile at sending system.
Is this possible to configure at Receiver Determination?
Many thanks in advance!
Jochen

Hi Jochen,
>>>>by means of Partner Profile at sending system.
inside receiver determination (<b>conditions</b>) you have access to EDI_DC40
segment of an IDOC - so the one with partner information
so you can use it as you need

  • Java heap space error occured during message mapping of FILE to IDOC

    hello Friends,
                          I am trying to do the message mapping for File to Idoc scenario.
    Idoc which I am using is HRMD_A.HRMD_A06 and infotype which I want to update is 14. I am trying to map the message type which I hav created for infotype 14 with the IDOC
    Its very simple scenerio but  every time I try to save the mapping before activating it I get an error:
    Java heap space
    Internal problem occurred (INTERNAL_PROBLEM)
    Java heap space.
                I am not able to figure out what possibly is the problem wheather its from my end or the BASIS end.
    Kindly help.
    Regards,
    Lokesh

    As the server probably survives (you restart your Integration Builder and can probably connect immediately), the problem will be on your side (client). Did you add one or more large xml-test-instances to the mapping ? If yes, delete them, because they lower the performance and can make problems. If not, then this is a strange problem. Even if the Idoc structure is complex, the mapping object itself cannot be that large.Is this problem only with this one mapping ?

    Here is how I solved this problem: I was told by the metalink folks that I should use the same verion of SOA console as jdev. So I went back to jdev 10.1.3.1. Rather than reading from the Oracle lite table, I dumped the table into a flat file. I read flat file and populated the workflow. Remember to set the 'messages in batch' flag in the file adapter to 1 and the number of records to skip to zero in the format builder for the flat file. The process now reads each record and creates an instance for that each record. In other words, if I have 8 records in my flat file, I will have 8 instances of the process running on the console. Thanks Jeremy for your help figuring this out.

  • Context handling in message mapping  for an IDoc to File Scenario

    Hi,
    Can somebody help me with this issue. I have an Idoc to file scenario. heres my idoc structure. Its a custom Idoc
    Header (1..1)
    Detail (0..Unbounded)
             DependentDetail (0...Unbounded)              Note: This dependentdetail is a subelement of Detail
    Trailer(1...1)
    I  created my target structrure the same way as the Idoc structure.
    My output is a simple text file. I need the output in this format
    Header
    Detail1
       Dependentdetail1
       DependentDetail2
       DependentDetail3
    Detail2
       DependentDetail1
       Dependentdetail2
    Detail3
    Detail4
    Trailer
    Since the Detail and Dependent Detail records are unbounded .
    But right now i m getting my output like this:
    Header
    Detail1
    Detail2
    Detail3
    Detail4
    Trailer
    But the DependentDetail record in not showing up in the output file. I didnot do any context change in my mapping. So do I need to do any context handling??...If so can somebody explain me with this.
    Thanks,
    Adam
    Edited by: hymanroth on Apr 29, 2011 11:11 PM

    Thanks Kenneth foryour quick reply,
    Yes, I see the payload for Dependent detail in SXMB_MONI. So as you said earlier there's a problem with my content conversion.
    my content conversion is as follows:
    Header.fieldNames
    Header.fieldFixedLengths
    Header.endSeparator
    Detail.fieldNames
    Detail.fieldFixedLengths
    Detail.endSeparator
    DependentDetail.fieldNames
    DependentDetail.fieldFixedLengths
    DependentDetail.endSeparator
    Trailer.fieldNames
    Trailer.fieldFixedLengths
    Trailer.endSeparator
    So As I told  earlier. With the above content conversion. I am not able to get the Dependent detail record in my output file. So If there is a change in my content conversion can u check it and tell me where I went wrong.
    Thanks,
    Harsh

  • Enhanced Inerface Determination for File to IDoc scenario

    I am using Enhanced Interface Determination in my scenario - where I map my source message (from a single instance) into more than one IDoc messages (separate instance of Idoc for each occurance of a particular segment in the source message). To implement this I am 1:n message mapping for Message Splitting.
    The mapping is being executed successfully and several instances of the target IDoc type is being created at the runtime. But at the technical routing step I am getting error:
    <SAP:Stack>Messages in multi-message format can only be sent to one Adapter Engine</SAP:Stack>
    Does this mean that we cannot use Multi-Mapping for Message Splitting for IDoc Outbound Channels? Even if all the target messages (more than one) are being sent through the same Inbound interface and same Reciever IDoc Channel?
    Regards,
    Suddha

    Thanks Farooq for your valuable advice.
    You know what, I read those restrictions in the help.sap.com but had thought there must be some work around. It says split messages are sent using only one AE, but I hoped that Idoc and Http can be used as they are not part of AE and rather IE itself. Anyways, can't help...............but could help me understand what are the technical reasons for these restrictions?
    The blog is really a nice one and very helpful..............thanks! I used multi-mapping in exactly similar way as in the blog and used enhanced interface determination - but the target message being Idoc
    Is BPM the only option for my scenario?

    Suddha

  • Partner Profile for file to IDOC scenario

    Hi experts,
    I am doing file to Idoc scenario. I did the ALE configuration steps between XI and r/3. For sender (ThirdParty) system, I defined Business system. While defining partner profiles in WE20 I got confused, whether to Give XI logical system Name or Third party logical system name. Please clarify..........
    Thanks
    Manoj

    Hi,
    >>I defined Business system. While defining partner profiles in WE20 I got confused, whether to Give XI logical system Name or Third party logical system name. Please clarify..........
    in most cases you will only use one logical system in WE20
    this will be XI's logical system - and you can route all the traffic
    via this logicail system - this is the most popular case
    for more about IDOCs and XI have a look at my book:

  • Alert Configuration for File to IDoc scenario

    I have followed Alerts : Step-by-Step /people/michal.krawczyk2/blog/2005/06/28/xipi-faq-frequently-asked-questions
    and configured Alerts for file to IDoc scenario.
    But the problem is, I did not notice any alerts being generated. I could notice the IDocs being posted to destination system. So I was going through Alerts-Troubleshoute Guide. In intension to maintain monitoring level, I clicked Configuration tab. But I did not notice my sender and receiver system there to maintain.
    Can any body help me to detail out the procedure to add sender and receiver systems to maintain the monitoring level?
    Regards,
    Suraj Kumar

    hi Suraj,
    WHich SP version are you on??
    If you are on Sp14 or above, then unfortunately, Michal's Trouble Shooting for Alerts will not help.
    From SP14 onwards, activation of end to end monitoring is not needed for Alerting. Refer to this note <b>870232</b> for this info.
    Next, to test if your Alerts have been defined correctly, go to SE38. In the program , type RSALERTTEST and then click on EXECUTE button ( F8 ). In the next window, it will ask you for your ALERTCATEGORY. Just give the name of your ALERT CATEGORY and click EXECUTE.
    If you have configured your alerts correctly, you will receive a message that tells ALERT IS GENERATED and will give the ALERT ID.
    Now, go to your Run TIme workbench and then select ALERT INBOX and see if you have got the ALERT message in your ALERT INBOX.
    If this is working fine, then the last step, implement the note 913858.

    Bhavesh

  • Setup for IDoc-XI-File scenario

    Hi All,
       Please provide info where can I find, step by step  documentation for the basic setup on R/3 and XI areas, before start developing IDoc-XI-File or File-XI-IDoc scenarios.
    Thank you,
    Sree

    Hi,
    While doing an IDOC -> XI -> File scenario, The Points to noted are:
    1. You don’t need a DT, MT or a message interface for the IDOC as it itself acts as the Message Interface.
    2. You import the IDOC and use the same in your mapping.
    3. In this configuration note that you don’t have a sender agreement as you don’t have a sender IDOC adapter.
    If it is that you wanted to send an IDOC from XI (File to IDOC) , then in this case:
    points 1 and 2 will remain, but the 3 will not. You will need a sender agreement for the file and a receiver agreement for the IDOC.

    (It concentrates on XSLT mapping but also gives an idea about the configuration part. Do go thru that, it might help you.)
    To be able to trigger your IDOC from the SAP ISU system, you will have to set the partner profile in we20. Select your Business System (mostly under Logical system) and then create Outbound entries for whichever IDOC you want to trigger.
    You define your basic type also in your partner profile settings, Please go thru the following links to get a better idea about partner profile:

  • Error in TRFC for IDoc to File scenario while sending IDoc

    Hi,
    Configured of 'IDoc to file' scenario is completed. Executed a stand alone program to post IDocs to XXI system using a RFC destination with required previleges.
    Outbound IDoc has status successful, but it is blocked in the source system and can be viewed in TCode: SM58 (Transaction RFC). The error status is set as ':00'.
    When I tried menu item 'Edit>>Execute LUW', I got the status message as 'Function module does not exist or EXCEPTION raised'.
    For your information, User used in RFC destination is communication user with SAP_ALL profile(in XXI system).
    Can anybody help me out in resoving the error?
    Regards,
    Suraj Kumar

    Hi,
    Thanks for your reply.
    It is successfully tested and FYI as the user specified in RFC Destination is a communication user in destination system (XI), it does not have remote logon.

  • Questions to a Mapping for IDOC-to-File Scenario

    Hi all,
    I want do develop a Message-Mapping for an IDOC-to-File Scenario. A SAP System sends an IDOC to the XI-System and the XI-System should make a mapping an send a XML-File to a FTP-Server. The Strukture of the target message is very easy:
    <xdoc>
       <Invoice>
          @purno
          <HeaderInfo>
             <invno/>
             <shipdate/>
             <extvalue/>
          </HeaderInfo>
          <DetailInfo>
             <LineItem>
                @lineno
                <vpartno/>
                <descrip/>
                <qtyord/>
                <cost/>
                <vendmemo/>
             </LineItem>
          </DetailInfo>
       </Invoice>
    </xdoc>
    The source message is an IDOC. This IDOC can contain one or more positions (E1EDP01). Those different positions should be mapped into different LineItem's (see target structure) -> so in the target file one or more LineItems can appear.
    Is it possible to implement this process with a common message-mapping or have I to implement a business process?
    Thanks
    with best regards
    Christopher

    Hi Christopher,
    <i>Is it possible to implement this process with a common message-mapping or have I to implement a business process?</i> - This thing is possible with common message mapping......you dont need business proces for it.......in msg mapping after taking the source IDOC and target xml struc, map the E1EDP01 field to LineItem field.......just check the occurance of these nodes.....it should be 0..unbounded.........so as many E1EDP01 nodes will be there in idoc, that many LineItem nodes in target will be created.......
    Thanks,

  • Pass through scenario in SAP PI with no mapping for File to IDoc and Idoc to file scenarios

    Hi Experts,
    Can i have step by step process in SAP PI for pass through scenario with no mapping in case of file to Idoc and Idoc to file both cases please.

    My PI system is 7.3 dual stack.
    I have seen below blogs, still its confusing to me.
    When and how to create an scenario in SAP PI without mapping objects.
    Pass Through Scenario with no Mapping in PI 7.1
    Appreciate your help on this.
    Regards,
    Mohan.

    Hi Mohan
    In pass thru interface you don't need to create any ESR objects, only ID objects are required.
    Just Create a Receiver Determination and Receiver Agreement for your scenario (no need for Interface Det. and Sender Agreement).
    Specify the IDOC in the Sender Interface and namespace as urn:sap-com:document:sap:idoc:messages
    Or instead of creating objects manually, Run the wizard with Idoc name/namespace in sender/receiver interface

  • Do we need a sender channel for IDOC to file scenario.

    Hi,
    Do we need a sender channel in IDOC to FILE scenario.
    Because IDOC is being sent by SAP R/3 System and when creating objects in ID using wizard, it doesn't ask for sender channel.
    What is the reason for this?
    Regards,
    Younus

    Younus,
    to add more...
    From <b>WAS(Web Application Server) 6.20</b> and above BASIS is not the runtime for SAP.WAS is the runtime for SAP.
    And it has got ABAP and JAVA engine in it.
    It handles connections made over various protocols such as SMTP for mail, HTTP(S), and SOAP/XML.
    <b>
    The SAP Web AS 6.10 did not have a Java engine.</b>
    and IDOC and HTTP are present on the ABAP engine and the rest reside on JAVA engine.
    and that is the reason why IDOC and HTTP doesnt require Sender Adapter and Sender Aggrement aswell.
    Hope i cleared ur point...
