Message Server returns IP addres insted of hostname

I need to connect to a R/3 System via the Message Server.
Connection to the Message Server works fine, but obviously it returns the IP address of the Server for my Logon group and not the hostname.
I am forced to use an internal IP address, that is NATed to the real IP address of this system, because it is hosted elsewhere.
But the IP Address returned by the Message Server is an external IP address and not one of the internal...
So - if Message Server returns a hostname, my problem should be fixed.
Can someone please tell me, if Message Server is able to send back hostnames and what must be changed in my Message Servers configuration?

Problem solved (by myself):
The Message Server sends the IP Address of the assigned SAP instance back.
Per default this is the address that is valid within the Network where the SAP System is hosted.
In order to tell the Message Server to send back the address, that is valid in our network, the Logon Group IP Address must be configured accordingly.
See: http://help.sap.com/saphelp_erp2005vp/helpdata/en/c4/3a64b4505211d189550000e829fbbd/content.htm
A second configuration is required for the SAP Gateway Service. This tells the Gateway that our external address is an alternative address for their SAP System.

  • Windows Azure Pack - Server returned HTTP response code: 500 error while accessing the public tenant API

    Hi,
We are facing the following error while trying to access the given Windows Azure Pack Public tenant API to query the virtual machines list along with network adaper details -
java.io.IOException: Server returned HTTP response code: 500 for URL: https://<hostname>:30006/<subscription-id>/services/systemcenter/vmm/VirtualMachines?$expand=VirtualNetworkAdapters&$top=10000&$skip=0
The response is proper when we access the following URL -
    https://<hostname>:30006/<subscription-id>/services/systemcenter/vmm/VirtualMachines
Only on adding the $expand=VirtualNetworkAdapters, url parameter we are getting the above error.
Where can we check for the error logs on the Azure Pack server ? We checked for the logs using Windows Event Viewer but did not find any for the public tenant API.
What should be the cause for such an error and how can we fix this to get the proper data?
    Thanks in advance.

Yes, we tried this, $top=10&$skip=0 works for the following url
    https://<hostname>:30006/<subscription-id>/services/systemcenter/vmm/VirtualMachines?$top=10&$skip=0
It is only when we add $expand=VirtualNetworkAdapters,
the server returns the mentioned error response -
URL for which the server returns the 500 error -
    https://<hostname>:30006/<subscription-id>/services/systemcenter/vmm/VirtualMachines?$expand=VirtualNetworkAdapters&$top=10&$skip=0
    Can
you point to the error logs for Windows Azure Pack and SPF ?

Are you using a Microsoft or Apache web server? If so, you can submit to a server-side script, which will bypass web mail and client-side email software such as OUTLOOK.
    For examples:

  • When i send a mail to the user of messaging server, it returns saying unknown user.

I am trying to add a mail user to iplanet messaging server 5.1, I am able to configure that user from my mail client (outlook) but when i send mail to that user, it returns saying unknown user. I can see that user in LDAP data base/

This could be symptomatic of the iMS 5.1 server not yet having done a full synch to its alias database of the LDAP server. This is done every 24 hours (default) at 2 or 3 am. You can synch manually by running the "imsimta dirsync -F" command.

    yes,
you got crash aka shortdump in your system.
    - webserver: didn't crash, because it issued an error 500, so it works
    - remains either the soap runtime, which usually doesn't dump but throw errors and the application itself.
I'd look into the tracefiles (ST11) or tie the debugger to the service in question (SICF) and try to find out hat happens/d.

I have a customer running a provider hosted app and in Sharepoint 2013. Things have been working fine but recently they keep experiencing an issue where the all the app parts on the page show the following error message. Does anyone have an idea what

    Hi GuYumming,
I have checked the Sharepoint site using Fiddler and my X-SharePointHealthScore stays consistently on 1, I have even refreshed the site and had the "(429) Too Many Requests" error happen right in front of me whilst Fiddler is running and when I look at the
200 response for the Sharepoint site it is still showing "X-SharePointHealthScore: 1".
I assume because of this I do not need to make any of the changes suggested in your article above?
I have also been through the ULS logs and found the following 3 log entries that appear to relate to the issue but they do not really mean much to me so I am hoping that you can help:

  • Exchange 2013 CAS server returned '500 Message rejected'

    Hi, all.
Exchange 2013 with CAS server and 2 mailbox servers. Health checks are all 100% healthy.
One of our users cannot receive email from an external user. Our CAS server keeps rejecting the message. I can trace the message and see that it did indeed hit our servers, and was rejected. But I cannot find out WHY it was rejected.
Here is the Delivery Report from the EAC:
Delivery Report for               NAME ‎([email protected])
    Failed
    3/30/2015 1:41 PM <CAS servername>
    The message couldn't be delivered.
    [{LRT=};{LED=500 Message rejected};{FQDN=};{IP=}]
The external user gets this NDR:
<our local CAS servername> gave this error:
    Message rejected
In the Diagnostic information for administrator section:
<our local CAS servername> returned '500 message rejected'
followed by the Original message headers. I think I'm looking for some more verbose logging to see what rule or configuration rejected the message. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
    Thanks!
    Dan

My main question: how can I see what triggered my CAS server to reject this message with error 500?
Our user can receive email from other external senders ok. It seems to be just this one sender having trouble.
Our transport rules are not complex, and I see no rules that would block this sender or domain.
We use Exchange Online Protection. The message gets through EOP and hits our CAS server. The CAS server rejects the message - it never gets to the Client.
The CAS server gives the error 500 - but that's all I can find. I need a command or somewhere to look to see what triggered the 500 error.
I've posted the NDR received by the sender and scrubbed our identifying information.
Rcn.com looks like the sender's online forwarding host - the spf record for senderdomain.net points back to rcn.com. I've run an spf record check and it passes, so I do not believe that is the issue.
    Here is the NDR:

  • Messaging Server 4.1: Received mail is not returned to the sender if the receiving local account does not exist.

I have found that received mail is not returned to the sender if the receiving
local account does not exist. This problem occurs even if I use Console to
enable the Return message to sender option under the error handling methods.
In addition, I have used the configutil
to confirm that I have set the value
for Unknown account action to "13," which corresponds to the settings "Return
message to sender," "Notify the postmaster via email," and "Log the error in
the log file." Yet, in this situation, an error message is being sent to
postmaster, but not to the sender, and the error is not being recorded in the
    log file.
    <P>
    Do the following steps:<BR>
    <P>
    <OL>
<LI>From Console, open the appropriate Messaging Server.
    <LI>Click the Configuration tab.
    <LI>Open the Services folder.
    <LI>Select SMTP.
    <LI>Click the System tab.
    </OL>
    <P>
Check the "Domain handled by this server exclusively" field to make sure that
your mail domain is listed. If your mail domain is not listed, then Messaging
Server will assume that there is another mail server that is handling the
domain listed and will forward requests to this server.

    If this:
    http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...entication-vs-
    edirectory-825043/
is to be believed, it seems to indicate that your NAM configuration on
this server is not valid. I'm not seeing this message here on the OES
servers I looked at, and NAM is working correctly here.

  • Remote Server returned '400 4.4.7 Message delayed'

I have been getting the "error" in the subject lately.  It only happens on some emails and generally to only some recipient domains (gmail being one) but not even all the time for them.  The emails do always get delivered but are delayed
for several hours at least each time.  It's becoming an issue as it is fairly often now, and I would like to find a solution.  Since it's happening to recipients other than just gmail, and as far as I can tell sending from my domain is the only one
having this issue, there must be something wrong internally.

When the message is in the Exchange Queue, it says:
"451 4.4.0 DNS query failed. The error was: DNS query failed with error ErrorTimeout"
I ran SMTPDiag and everything passed.  I can copy/paste the results if needed.
Other info that may be helpful:
    Email server domain:  mail.MyExternalDomain.com
    Mail is SENT from:  IPaddress1
Mail is accessed remotely (OWA/outlook/active sync) via:  IPaddress2          (2 ip addresses here to easily route through firewall)
The mx record points to our spam filter's domain name, our offsite spam protection, so that naturally doesn’t match ours.
The Exchange send connector is set to have a FQDN of mail.MyExternalDomain.com for responses to HELO/EHLO
I had our ISP set IPaddress1 to have an rdns of mail.MyExternalDomain.com
I'm unsure that the recipient's server is the one even delaying it so the DNS info may not be a factor.  It seems to me to be something internal but I can't figure out what that may be.
    Thank you for any suggestions!

    Hi IMGooch,
Which kind of IP do we have, a static public IP or a dynamic one?
Are we on a residential Internet connection or Business?
I ask that because if we are using dynamic IP or a residential connection, the ISP might be blocking port 25.
Please try to do a test telnet outwards.
We can also use the ISP's smtp server through Smart Hosts.
    Hope it is helpful

    Hi Venigalla,
You can implement a federated portal network (FPN) using the SAP NetWeaver platform to share content between portals.
A federated portal network allows organizations with distributed portal installations, both SAP and non-SAP, to provide a single portal access point per user to portal information, services and applications distributed on portals in the network.
WSRP-based application sharing (FPN Mode used for for integrating content between SAP and Non SAP portals) :-
-->     Content administrators on a SAP NetWeaver consumer portal can integrate WSRP portlets (i.e. iViews) from remote non-SAP portals into SAP NetWeaver Portal.
-->      SAP NetWeaver developers can create WSRP compliant iViews that can be consumed in non-SAP consumer portals.

I have changed the hostname in all the file (1) hostname ,(2)/etc/sysconfig/network file . i even checked my hostname and it shows hostname as "HOST1" so i am confused even though hostname is "HOST1" but in dev_ms the IP ADRESS is resolving to "host1.mycompanyname.com"
    3. Also when i am trying to run "startsap" or "stopsap" from host1 where central service instance is installed. It gives me "command not found" although i see all the exe file in /usr/sap/SID/SYS/exe/run. why my command not running.
. I have added the sapmsSID 3900/tcp entries in both HOST1 and HOST3 services file.

    Only that
When I grep on Error from the file I get
