Messaging Backbone in Oracle SOA suite

Hi all,
Can somebody please let me know, whether we have any tools in SOA suite that implements the basic requirements of a Messaging Backbone for SOA.
As per a standard practices a Messaging Backbone for SOA is expected to do below functionalities...
1) Transactionality
2) Sequencing
3) Error Handling & Retries
4) Prioritization
5) Rules based monitoring
6) Processing of messages
Do we have these funtionalities implemented in Oracle's ESB or any of the tools in SOA suite.
If not, do we have any other third party vendor, who provide this.
Kindly let me know....
Thanks,
Shiv

Shiv,
Point 6 is definitely possible. You can read messages (from file, from a queue etc) and transform them.
For point 5 I am not entirely sure:
You can define conditions for your trackable fields (see http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B31017_01/integrate.1013/b28211/esb_console.htm#sthref258 ) for an explanation.
What do you mean by system utilization?
The other three points, you can solve with a combination between JMS and ESB. (If I understand correctly what you mean by them).
I don't want to give you an advice about what messaging solution you should pick, that really depends on a lot of factors:
- knowledge of IBM products in your organization
- use cases where you want use a messaging solution
- budget
- etc.
I suggest you take a look at the IBM site and also try some of the tutorials that are part of the ESB and SOA Suite. That way you get a feel of the possibilities of the products.

Lonneke

  • How can I use custom WLST commands for Oracle SOA Suite in Weblogic

    Hi There,
I'm trying to view and search the weblogic log files using WLST on a Solaris/Unix system.
I have come across this "custom WLST commands for Oracle SOA Suite" and thought of using the custom logging commands to get my task done.
However, my WLST shell is not recognizing the commands and giving me the NameError!
    wls:/devDomain1/domainRuntime> listLogs()
    Traceback (innermost last):
    File "<console>", line 1, in ?
    NameError: listLogs
I tried the commands listLogs, displayLogs, getLogLevel & setLogLevel but in vain!
I have followed the instructions as per the oracle recommendation of using Custom WLST commands (http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E29597_01/core.1111/e10105/getstart.htm#ASADM10692) as below
    - Launched the WLST shell from Oracle Home.
    cd ORACLE_HOME/common/bin
    ./wlst.sh
    - Tried to run the listLogs command from domainRuntime()
I would like to know if I need to import any additional libraries to run the custom WLST commands for Oracle SOA Suite in my WLST shell?
I have only weblogic 10.3.1 server installed on my Solaris 10 machine on which I have deployed the OSB application software.
There is no SOA Suite installed.
Or is there any other way I can browse the Server Log file and get the list of log messages? Basically I would like to use this feature in my script to customize it according to my requirement of listing specific error logs which I can work it out if I know how to make these commands work.
Please advise if this is possible and how?
    Cheers.
    Satish

I have tried on my OSB installation (no SOA Suite here), the command listLogs() works (I was in online mode, after a connect), and the classpath is:

I am using JDevelpoer 10.1.3.5 and SOA Suite 10g. Please help me to figure it out.
    Thanks

Make sure you use the similar version of soa suite and JDev 10135. If you are using JDev 10.1.3.5, your soa suite version should be 10.1.3.5. I was just wondering if you were ever able to deploy any other process successfully from the similar JDev and on similar SOA Suite ? If not you need to revisit your soa suite installation again.
Also check the log files on the server to see if any errors are recorded.

  • Oracle SOA Suite 10.1.3.1: Invoke a secure webservice

    Hi,
How can i invoke a secure Webservice (the webservice is implemented as a Security Token Service that accepts RST messages and replies with RSTR messages [ws-trust]) using BPEL and OWSM (Oracle SOA Suite 10.1.3.1) .
The Service authenticates the user by verifying the validity of the user’s (client) X.509 certificate und return a saml assertion. This assertion confirms the user’s identity, and the successful authentication process.
Any approcahes or Ideas how to implement this?
    thanks in advance

  • Schematron validation error in BPEL, Oracle Soa Suite 11g

    Hi Friends,
As per the requirement, I have to validate all the mandatory element values from an XML payload and need to send the consolidated report to the source application with all the validation failure elements.
I am trying to implement Schematron validation in BPEL, but its giving me the following error:
    +<remoteFault>+
    +<part name="summary">+
+<summary>oracle.fabric.common.FabricException: Cannot get Object part 'result'. No parts are set on the message</summary>+
    +</part>+
    +<part name="detail">+
+<detail>Cannot get Object part 'result'. No parts are set on the message</detail>+
    +</part>+
    +</remoteFault>+
I have followed the below process and created very basic sample composite.
    1) Extracted the validate.wsdl from bpm-services.jar.
    2) Imported the validate.wsdl into my Jdev Project.
    3) Created partenr link based on the validation.wsdl and used Invoke activty to invoke the partner link.
    4) Created .sch file and passed to input variable of the invoke activity.
If any one knows about this issue, plz help me. Or if any one has developed an example on how to use schematron in BPEL plz share it with me.
    Thanks
    Ramesh

    1) How often did u see SOA suite being used in Non-Oracle Apps projects i.e projects that do not use Oracle Applications as the source data provider.Frankly speaking, not very often but still there are many customers who are using/willing to migrate on Oracle SOA Suite because of the many advantages provided by 11g stack.
    2) How much Oracle Apps knowledge is required for choosing the career of Oracle SOA Suite Integration Architect? I would say that both the technologies have very less in common so it never depends on your level of Apps knowledge to architect a SOA solution. You have to learn SOA from scratch but if you have prior experience in Oracle Apps then it may not be very difficult for you to go ahead with SOA.

  • Oracle SOA Suite 11g - Supported Databases??

    Hi All
I am trying my hands with Oracle SOA suite 11g on my laptop having 2GB of RAM...
List of soft wares installed for this are Oracle 11g database, JDeveloper, SOA Suite. On real time when developing some application system becomes too slow due to memory issue.
The Oracle DB eats up max memory...
So looking for a alternative light weight database alternative for Oracle SOA 11g suite like SQL server 2005.
The Repository Configuration Utility version RCU11.1.1.2 supports SQL Server 2005 database and create the schemas like Dev_SOAINFRA, DEVV_ORASDPM etc correctly...
But while configuring the new admin and SOA server via the wizards (start menu -> Oracle SOA 11g - Home1 -> Configure Application Server) the only database vendor drop down option available is Oracle , list does not contain other players IBM DB2, MS SQL Server , MySQL.....
So can somebody tell me for Oracle SOA Suite 11g, what is the light weight Database option is available so that I may go for SOA applications development on machine like my configuration....

Yes, All schema created successfully using the RCU tool, except the below warning.
+"The Database you are connecting is not a supported version. Enter database with version equal to of higher that 10.2.0.4.0 in 10g or version equal to of higher that 11.1.0.7.0 in 11g.Refer to the certification matrix for the supported DB versions."+
But when starts the SOA server , the log bears the below error repeated numerous time.

  • Trying to integrate with User Messaging Service adapter in SOA suite. Can it be possible through an JMS interface.

Trying to integrate with User Messaging Service adapter in SOA suite. Can it be possible through an JMS interface.
I have an JMS backend integrated to Oracle B2B. Is it possible to send an email protocol message using JMS interface to B2B where User messaging Service has been implemented. The adapters required for UMS have been deployed and the sdpmessaging jar files also have been added to the classpath. The only problem i face is i dont have an BPEL system to integrate where as in the forums it has been mentioned how to post a message using BPEL.
Please let me know if there is a way to integrate the adapter with JMS interface.
    Thanks in advance
    Deepak

If I remember correct, to use JCA adapter with SOA stack requires that adapter implement some Oracle API.
The Adapter SDK is a light-weight tool kit that enables rapid implementation and deployment --- http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/integration/adapters/pdf/DS_OracleASAdapter.pdf
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B16981_04/current/acrobat/cct115dg.pdf
Mostly you will have to wrap your jca adapter to make it available in SOA suite/stack.
Other option is that you adapter provider would have given CCI interface or some custom interface which can be used for invoking adapter end-points.

    Hi Boris,
Looks like you have not run the post upgrade script for 10.1.3.4.
You need to install SOA 10.1.3.4 Basic Installation. Then start following : http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E12524_01/core.1013/e13058/weblogic.htm#BHCIIBFB
You basically, first install 10.1.3.4 basic SOA install, Apply the Opatch 7337034 (HOTPLUG: SOASUITE 10.1.3.4 ON WEBLOGIC 9.2 - CHANGES FOR HOTPLUGGABILITY). Install WLS 9.2 MP3.
Now, Download the Oracle SOA Suite 10.1.3.4 WebLogic Server 9.2 : patch : 7490612.
Then , Modify the following mandatory installation properties in the Weblogic_SOA10134_Base\SOADomain.properties file as per the documentation above.
    Cheers

Did you find a solution to this issue? We are having a similar issue trying to deploy a Paypal IPN on OAS 10.1.2.3. The IPN messages coming from Paypal appear to be attempting an SSLv2 handshake. In our case SSLv2 is disabled due to our security requirements so the connection is killed by our App Server. We have found that manually sending the IPN messages works correctly.

After I installed Oracle SOA Suite on Oracle XE DB on same machine, I could not log in Oracle WSM and when log in Oracle AS Control I get this message: This OC4J is configured to make JMX connections via RMIS and fall back to RMI if the RMIS port is not configured. The RMIS connection on the OC4J instance home on Application Server home.xxxxxxx.COM is configured but a connection could not be established. The JMX protocol is specified by the oracle.oc4j.jmx.internal.connection.protocol property in opmn.xml
