Metadata Extract to excel in column wise??

Hello,
I want to extract essbase cube metadata to excel and it should be in separate columns for each level. I downloaded applied olap Outline extractor but not sure how to run that tool?
PLease let me know how to use this tool or any other method to extract the metadata in columnwise.

in the past ive done a excel macro using essbase add-in, the macro extract the dimension structure and then put each member in a different column using the indentation (you must enable this option). sorry but now i dont have this code to send you.

I'm trying to figure out how to batch import a substantial amount of metadata in Microsoft Excel or Access to the IPTC core fields in Adobe Bridge CC. I've seen the issue discussed, but many of the posts about it are six or seven years old. So here are the simplest statement of the questions:
1. Is it possible to export data from Excel or Access to XMP and then batch-import it in Adobe Bridge CC?

it works for me without problems.
Some information on my setup and what I did:
- my primary browser language is English (en-us)
1) Save the data in a file called hardware.txt:
SERIAL,HOSTNAME,ITEM_TYPE,BRAND,MODEL,OWNER,STATUS
AEP016136,d2vmrw61,Laptop,Dell,m71,Gary Cleary,Active
AEP016169,dhj3b71,Desktop,Dell,Dimension 4700,Unassigned,Active
AEP016170,cn-0g8432-64180-52p-1yts,Monitor,Dell,E193FP,Unassigned,Active2) Load the data (Load text data) into an existing table by uploading a file:
- File: hardware.txt
- Separator: , (comma)
Worked fine.
3) Load the data (copy /paste spreadsheet data into an existing table):
- Open the file hardware.txt in Excel and import it into the spreadsheet
- copy all three lines and paste them into the textarea in XE (the difference is that the columns are no longer separated by commas but by tabs)
Worked fine as well.
Please try the above mentioned steps and see whether you still get the error.

In MS Word we have the possibility to use a library's metadata by using "Quick Parts" and "Document Properties". Unfortunatly, MS Word is not very confortable in contrast to MS Excel. Therefore we are looking for a solution to use the metadata of a sharepoint
library in an Excel sheet.
For example: We have implemented a customized Excel file with calculated columns. This excel file should be a, lets say a measurement protocol.
By creating a new document (Excel Template) we want to add only the measurements. The metadata shall appear within the template. (LookUps, Date, Responsible, ID, etc.)
Export the data into an excel file is very redundant. Because you have the data inside the library and in the excel file. Copying, Sending, Renaming, etc.. I just was wondering why MS Word has this option and MS Excel not? Do you know how I can use those
metadata from SharePoint?

How to make fields grow dynamically within the same page and in column wise

Like the newspaper format: Where contents of news are shown columns wise.
We need to make the fields in a page grow column wise within that same page.
For example, in a page:
Column 1 Column 2
ASDASDASDGKASHDGKAA | ASDFASGFHSJFAJKSD
ASDFASDFASDJFASGJKDFHA | ASDFASDASDFASDFASD

If the Column 1 is full with the fields in the page it should start filling the column 2 which is also in the same page.
If the Column 2 is also full then only it should move to the next page and should continue the same scenario.
Please suggest a better way to do this in the Adobe Output Designer.

Hi Gurunath, if you steel need a solution on this problem, I think this could help:
1- place two fields on the form (JF01, JF02), one under each other.
2- Make two subform with them (Sline1, Sline2)
3- Make the field JF02 expand on same subform.
4- Modify the preamble in this way:
^define group:D_line1 \field$POSITION\reserve"0.333",in\subformSline1.\positionsave,"first_line"
^define group:JF01!OnOverflow \groupG_Sline2.\fieldJF02.
^define group:G_Sline2!OnBOF \positionrestore,"first_line"\positionright,"3.65",in
In the data file put all the text in JF01.
-The first line say:
When JF01 is called, save it's y position (\positionsave,"first_line")
-The second line means:
when the text overflow JF01 put it in JF02.
(cause JF02 overflow on itself all the remaining data is overflowed in JF02)
-The third line means:
if JF02 arrives at the end of the page (OnBOF), restore the saved position ( \positionrestore,"first_line") and move to the right of "3,65" inches (\positionright,"3.65",in).
In other words, when JF02 arrive at the and of the age, the next field JF02 is positioned at the same height of JF01 and is shifted on the right
Take care that in this way JF02 cannot anymore go o a new page.

if it is normal report .then
go through the write statents . one of that is below
Loop at itab .
write : itab .
endloop.
if it is ALV then you have to define an internal table which are the fieldds you want palce in the Row .
so that
data c type i value    '1'.
loop at itab .
fieldcatalog-fieldname   = itab-field.
fieldcatalog-col_pos     = c.
append fieldcatalog to fieldcatalog.
clear fieldcatalog
c = c + 1.
endloop.
so that the Col_pos will be increased and the Column data will be moved into Row .

PDF does not contain columns, rows, formats, styles, or other aspects of word processing or spreadsheet file formats.
This is because PDF is decidedly not a word processing or spreadsheet file format or something "like" one of those.
(see ISO 32000 for what PDF "is")
What can optimize the export of PDF page content is to start with a well-formed tagged PDF (ISO 14289-1, PDF/UA-1 compliant).
Without that export is what it is and one performs whatever content cleanup is needed using the native application for the export file (MS Word or Excel).

How to Fetch Data into internal table column wise?

The internal table contains huge set of data. Normally we fetch the data row wise using insert and select statements in work area.
But, the requirement is on fetching the data column wise for each field from the database.
So,can anyone help me on this issue for fetching the data column wise?

Welcome to SDN.
What you want to do(if I understand correctly) is not possible with the statements available to us. You could do it, but I think it would be a lot of code and I don't think that its worth it. Why exactly do you want to do this?

Form fields exceeds Excel's column limitation. XML to non-xls solution?

I have a form with more than 256 variables. This is not a problem with xml, but the wizard from Adobe>XML>Excel truncates data at Excel's column limit of 256 columns, leaving my remaining variables only held in the xml files.
Surely others have come across this problem?
I can't split my form for the users, I can only use one form, so that option is out.
Does anyone have the magic answer? I've searched and searched but to no avail.
My goal is to eventually get data from XML to SPSS. Is there a solution that can batch import XML files and transfer to any file type besides excel that SPSS can eventually read (text/flat, other CSV, other)?
Any help very much appreciated.

You can make a VBA app in Excel or a VB app that convert the xml to any format.

Searchability & metadata extraction on password protected or compressed PDFs

Hello,
I am currently putting together a new document management system at my company (using http://www.alfresco.com )
and part of the functionality will involve automatic metadata extraction from stored PDFs, and google-like full-text search of PDFs.
We seem to be running into a few problems though -
All our PDFs were password protected in Acrobat to have a "read only" security permission - yet this seems to be blocking the metadata extractor.
I wasn't expecting this - obviously, Adobe Reader can still read the metadata, I'm wondering does it do anything special that other clients aren't allowed to?
Also, I'm wondering if the "object level compression" and "compress text and line art" Distiller settings could interfere with PDF content/metadata readability?

Let me expand a bit on Aandi's comments...
First, PDF document support two types of metadata. "Classic" metadata (called Document Info) which is stored in native PDF data structures and will be encrypted when the rest of the document is, so that you can NOT extract the data w/o processing the file as a native PDF document (instead of as "raw data"). "Modern" metadata is stored in a PDF in an industry standard XML grammar called XMP and will be left in "plaintext" when the rest of the document is encrypted - so that it can be located and extracted w/o the need to process the PDF natively - though it is still recommended!
Second, as Aandi points out, "compress text and line art" has been a feature of PDF since day 1, while object compression is newer feature of PDF introduced with Acrobat 5 (about 7 years ago!). NEITHER of these features will effect the "Modern" metadata, since it is required to always be in "plaintext", HOWEVEr, the latter CAN effect "Classic" metadata. Another reason you need to process a PDF natively.

How to print data in h:dataTable by column wise

I've Arraylist holding of Item objects, in that again one more Arraylist containing Item parameters
My problem is i want to display ItemParams side by side(column wise) not row by row(normal procedure)
Table looks like
ItemNo          ItemName     ItemDesc     Change

In above table ItemName having different params
colgate have 3params
peopsodent have 2 params
