MGMT_TABLES for USER LOGINS

Hi,
We have OMS 10gR2 installed on an AIX server which monitors our production databases. Now, we are in process of decommissioning that server and getting OMS on a new aix box.
I am done with installing OMS, agent and setting repository. I have also exported/imported the user data (except sys, system, sysman, dbsnmp etc) from old repository to new repository database. So I am able to login to new REPOSITORY (on SQL) using my previous login id, but import has not added these accounts on new OEM.
Do I have to export import any MGMT tables from old repository so that old users can login to new OEM without any need to recreate their logins?
Please help as soon as possible.

Didn't import SYSMAN because we have moved the OEM on a different box with different hostname and IP. And as per what I see, some of the MGMT tables do have hostname in their rows. So just to avoid any conflicts, we created a fresh database and then a fresh OMS installation on that database..
Can you come over this limitation of hostname in export/import of SYSMAN by reconfiguring repository?

Using Session Variables for User Login - sometimes they don't persist... what am I doing wrong?

I'm running a site that requires user login. I approached the building of this site as almost a complete newb to CF (and dynamic coding in general), and it's been a great learing experience (with lots of help from you guys).
However, I guess I never learned the correct way to handle a user login. It seemed to me that I could just test the user-entered credentials against those stored in a database, then set a session variable containg that user's record number. Then, not only would I have an easy way of knowing who this user was and therefore what info to serve him, but I could test for the existence of a valid login on every page in the protected folder, by adding this code to my application.cfc in that folder:

...and it goes on to run a query and verify that the session.username and session.password match for the store defined by session.storeID. If not, all session variables are cleared and it bounces you back to the login page. When the user clicks Logout, all I do is delete all the session variables.
This seemed to work great for like a year, but lately I've been getting reports that the login doesn't seem to persist for longer than approx. 20 minutes of inactivity. You can see I specified session variables to remain active for 8 hours (I know that seems like a drastically long login, but it's what's necessary for this application). I've only gotten this report from a few people, and I myself can't seem to duplicate it... I've tested an inactive login for 45 minutes now and it held.
SO: any reason you can think of why session variables would be spontaneously clearing for some people? Would having your router reset its IP address invalidate the session or something? Also, the problem seemed to begin appearing after my host upgraded all their servers to CF9... could there be any relation?
And on a more general note... did I go about this completely the wrong way to begin with? If so, what's the standard way to manage a login?

Thanks very much - very helpful information.
Sounds like passing the tokens in every request is probably the way to go for this. I don't think it's likely that any users will be sharing links, unless they actually intend for the recipient to see their info anyway.
Is that all I would have to do, is add the tokens to every path? Would that guarantee that all the session variables would remain valid until timeout or being cleared?

One might be able to accomplish this with a Flex|Air|Flash applications that can be configured to use a continuous connection to the server. Thus not suffer the stateless nature of the normal HTTP request-response cycle.
I do not know if a router resetting would cause cookies to be discarded or otherwise invalidated. But I would not think it is beyond the relm of possibilities.

Sql usage for user login screen in uix

I am very new to Jdeveloper so many things remain a mystery at this point. I'm using version 9.0.3.3.
I implemented a login screen using the example supplied in the uix developer guide and the solution works great except for the un-implemented method from the sample java program

I need some help in how to implement this method. Conceptually, it is simple. Just a sql statement that searches the user file for a match on user name and password and either returns a single row or nothing.
The user interface screen works and passes down the user id and password and I made the java program work by hard coding in the user id and password rather than go to the database.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If you figured this out, please share some code. In a nutshell I have some code that does not work, and have posted several questions on forum. So far no luck. The only way I made it work is to have dummy binding of USERS VO on my login page. Weird?

Hi Hussein, here is the exact req.
I need to allow a few specific users to work only during office hours like 8.00 to 6.00 etc . So i will create a form to capture these timing details in a custom table.
When the user logs into the application outside of his allowed timing ie after 6.00 i need to check for this user in my custom table which has the timing and if he is not allowed to work then should not allow him to login. I was thinking a trigger will help me solve this any suggestions from yourside.

What is a good way to make sure the user has logged in on many web pages? I implement the property and method in the session bean to keep track of whether the user has logged in or not and that's fine. I tried to use a Page Fragment to check if the user is logged in, but Page Fragment does not seem to redirect with getExternalContext().redirect("Login.jsp").
I also tryed to use <jsp:include> to include a header to test for login, but JSF doesn't seem to like me adding that to the page (got error).
Also, is there a good way to prevent the target page to even execute the rowset if the user is not logged in? It seem like the page has to complete all the rowset data binding before being redirected to another page, even if I put the redirection as part of the page initialization. This is difficult because I can't expect all the pages to have query result when the user is not even logged in.
This is very basic web application function but it seems so hard to do with Studio Creator.

One thought though, when I was playing around with that solution I noticed that everything gets filtered.
i.e. images, so maybe you chould place some thing on the page (image) and when it comes through .. do something. I know its not quite as good, because your back to having to put something on each page (or restricted pages).
The images won't be wrong, unlike the URL .. maybe not images maybe something else. good luck

We always get the error-message: "Error 403 forbidden, You are not authorized to view the requested resource."

Hi Danny,
Welcome to SDN,
Logon to the portal with the user Administrator, go to User Administartion and create a user for yourself by assigning Super Admin Role.
portal Url must be http://<host.fqdn>:50XX0/irj/portal where XX is the system number in this case 00.
You will able to see at the user admin tab all the SAP standard roles.

WLC 4400 issue on "user login policies" parameter.

I'm using a Cisco Wireless controller in my company.
(the model is a AIR-WLC4402-50-K9 in 4.2.207.0 version).
The WLAN is configured with WPAv2 AES and 802.1X (PEAP MS-CHAPv2) authentication on an external Microsoft IAS server (2003 R2).
the authentication rely on Active Directory login and password.
The user authentication works fine and the WLAN too.
But it's possible for a single user to log on different laptops with the same AD login and password and use the wireless network.
And it has to be forbiden by "user login policies" parameter set to 1 on the WLC (in security parameters).
Does anybody says if it's a known issue and how to solve this problem?

Many thanks , you're right, I have to find the solution on IAS server side.
In fact, I have also applied these commands on the controller and the max-user login works (in the case of an externan radius server).
I have seen it in the "message logs".
(Cisco Controller) config>advanced eap max-login-ignore-identity-response disable
(Cisco Controller) config> netuser maxuserLogin 1
But the problem still remain , because the IAS server is not case sensitive for user logins instead of the Wireless Controller.
For exemple:
raphaelpaviot login and RaphaelPAVIOT login are:
-one user for the IAS server.
-two different users on the WLC.

After patches applied on patch Tuesday the database reports the above error.
All accounts are domain accounts and SQLServer uses Windows auth.
DCDIAG show no errors
All servers and DC have been restarted,
Message in db log confirms the connection is being denied due to trust.
Event log shows same rejection
Protocols enabled: named pipes, tcpip, memory
TESTS:

Connect with domain admin accounts works from multiple clients systems to DB.
Cannot connect with newly created domain admin account
Can connect if new admin account connect to server in terminal server session and uses UDL wizard or any other tool including isql.
New standard user also fails to connect.
NOTES:
I removed the SSL patch and the IE security update to see if that was an issue.

I went back and found I had missed removing a patch. I missed the rollup for Windows Server 2003:
