Mic problem with audi 2

Hello to help..
bought the audi2zs about 6 months ago and everything is great, even after sp2
until recently never had to use the mic. it was always muted, the other day the wife wanted to net meet with her parents and all went well until she tried to use the mic.
the sound for the mic comes right back through my speakers. like its looped or something.
the other party does not hear from my side, all works fine on their end, tried netmeeting with someone else whos system is hooked up right and had the same prob.
i've tried all menu screens to fix but so far no dice
i used to have soundblaster gamer and there was no problems like this.
we are using netmeeting through msn messenger, latest version.
ran all diagnoses programs that i can think of.
if anyone has any clue to help fix this i and my wife would greatly appreciate it, and i might actually get some sleep, peace, quiet, etc, if you know what i mean.
thanks in advance

Here's how I have been proceeding, Al. Systems Pref>Sound>Input. Listed in the "Select a device..." are Internal Mic, Line in and BLUE USB Audio 2.0. I then slide the Input Vol to about 80%. then I close Sys Prefs. Then Utilities>Audio MIDI setup>Show Audio Devices. This shows Built In Mic,Built in Input, Built In Output and BLUE
USB Audio 2.0. I one click BLUE USB Audio 2.0 and this shows me, on the right, Input giving me Format 48000Hz and 2ch-24bit. I open FCE project and open Voice Over from TOOLS. This shows Source: Built in Microphone - so I click on that and get a drop down which shows various options which includes BLUE USB Audio 2. I click on that and it shows in the Source and also shows in the Input. The rate shows 48000Hz and the gain is at 100%. If I now play the Timeline the sound already recorded can't be heard but if I disconnect the USB cable from the mic, the already recorded sound in the Timeline is heard and the audio meter works as it should.
Incidentally I am told I must have OS10.4.00 at least and I have OS 10.6.8. So I think there is something switchable on the mic that I need to do. It does have a mute button and that stops sound going to the computer.
A bit of a mystery - and frustrating as ****. But I have appreciated and do apprecxate youyr help

  • Help needed with HTC One regarding mic problem with noise cancellation

I picked up an HTC One last week, and so far I am loving the phone.  Great build quality, screen, sound - all as advertised.
However, there is one very annoying problem I am having.  When I am talking to someone, I can gear them great, but they keep telling me I sound muffled or robotic.  I performed some tests, and the problem appears to be something with the dual microphones and the HTC One's noise cancellation features.
Here are the tests I ran:
Typical phone call, with holding the phone as I normally do on the sides and to my ear.  Call result, pretty muffled voice.  I'd give the call quality a 5/10.
Help the phone as I typically do, but covered the mic hole on the back of the phone.  This definatelyimproved call quality.  Was louder and clearer, but not perfect.  I'd rate it at 8/10.
Help the phone towards the bottom, using my hand to kind of cup the bottom directing the sound to the bottom mic.  This was a further improvement in sound quality.  Rating would be 9/10.
Help phone as normal, but covered the bottom mic hole.  Very low volume and muffled sound.  Rating a 4/10.
Talked directly into the bottom of the phone into the bottom mic.  This gave perfect call quality and volume.  Rating a 10/10!
Talked directly into the mic on the back of the phone. Horrible quality, couldn't hear hardly anything. Rating 0/10.
Speaker phone on, held the phone up and moved it around as I would normally use a speaker phone.  Call quality was really nice.  Id give it 9/10.
Speaker phone on, covered back mic hole and used speaker phone as in #7.  Very bad quality, rating 1/10 for call quality.
Speaker phone on, covered bottom mic and help speaker phone in hand.  Really good quality, even an improvement over test #7.  Would give the call quality a 9.5/10.
Speaker phone on, placed face down on table.  Volume a bit low, a little muffled.  Call quality 6/10.
Speaker phone on, place face up on table.  A bit worse than test #10, low volume and a bit muffled.  Call quality is 5/10.
Based on these tests, I know this problem has nothing to do with the network CDMA connection.  It is obvious that the noise cancellation features are a bit too aggressive, or I have some hardware problem with one or both mics.
I question wether its really a hardware mic problem, because on non-speaker phone calls, talking directly into the bottom mic gives great quality.  And on Speaker phone, covering the bottom mic makes the speaker phone sound really good.  That's why I think there's something going on with the "Sense Sound" noise cancellation.
Is anyone else seeing the same issues?  I want to be able to hold the phone normal on a non speaker phone call and get good quality.
Looking for any tips and advice anyone can give.  Is it worth exchanging for a new one, as I am still in my 14 day window.
Thanks in advance for the help!

Is it an Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Pro you have (with the external dri've)?
Did you check the mixer settings when you connected your mic? As long as the recording source is set up correctly you should be able to record from that input. Did you test that with a standard computer microphone aswell? You mentioned you have several mics.

  • Mic problems with all boards thread! What do we do to fix this or do we need a new boa

I have come the conclusion that this is not just a mic problem but a uni'versal line in problem since several devices can be connected thru my SoundBlaster Li've! 24-bit line in port. I'm assuming its a software problem and it seems to be a common problem. The second possibilty is that part of the board is either defected or assembled incorrectly. Either way everyone seems to have made sure that:
    A. there drivers are up to date.
    B. they have dissabled any other audio device in windows or in BIOS.
    C. there mic won't work no matter what port they attempt.
    D. creative software changes of audio devices and mixer still don't change anything.
I came on here for answers yet all i find is questions.
And all seem to be pretty similar. There are many other posts pertaining individual audio cards, yet they all have the same problem. If your having the same problem post here and keep this thread ali've, if you have an answer to your own problems you'd like to share post it here. Hoping for a Creative response to either my post or one of the many other posts on the same subject.Message Edited by syferus on 09-23-2005 0:30 AM

If you have a PCI-GPIB card, you needn't worry about the USB port or whether or not Windows ME supports 1394. All you need in NI-488.2 version 1.70 from National Instruments. Install this driver and then insert your card. Windows should detect the card and find the proper driver.
If this did not happen in the proper sequence, look in the device manager and see if the card was installed as an "other device". If this happens, remove the card in the device manager and have windows redetect it. If this is not a solution, you may consider the ask an engineer page at www.ni.com/ask. Provide as many details as possible.

When I set the gain knob to its maximum, I receive a high level noise.
My system is connected to a self-amplified 4. speakers system (Altec Lansing ATA880), numeric

  • Please help! Mic problems with Audigy 2

    Hey everyone,
I have a Audigy 2 ZS, and my problem is that whenever I try using my headset/mic combo it never fails that people can hear everything going on my computer as if I have speakers. Its kind of confusing to explain so I'll just give you a few examples.
. On ventrillo if I use the "push to talk" key and have an mp3 playing at same time or anything playing in teh background, we'll just say MP3 for example. Whenever I will try to speak they will hear the MP3 playing also as if I had speakers on. But im on a headset.
    2. In Counter Strike people will hear my game as I play also. Again almost making it seem like I was playing on speakers and the mic was picking up the background noise.
Now what I have tried so far is gone thru 3 differant types of plantronic mics and they all do the same thing and they work fine on my laptop. I've have 3 formats and clean installs and its always the same problem. So I'm totally confused if it is a hard ware problem or software problem.... Also when I play counter strike at times my voice becomes garbled (if that is a real world) and people tell me it sounds like I'm talking with marbles in my mouth. But other times im perfectly fine. This computer was just purchased in end of January so I'm just baffled... any advice would be greatly appreciated!

    I have the solution!!
OK first go into your Creative Volume Control Panel
On the far right side it says REC make sure that says Line-In2/Mic 2 and also make sure that same option isnt selected in the two left columns those I guess can be set to whatever. I have mine set to Aux and Aux 2 and there muted.
Now if your using VENT like me then go into setup and starting from top right on main page
    Output Device: Default Wave Mapper
    No check in box
Input Device: YOUR CARDS NAME (i.e. SB Audigy 2 ZS Audio)
Mixer: SB Audigy 2 ZS Audio
    Mux: Recording Control
    Line: Line-In 2/Mic 2
This is what worked for me, I hope you all have as much luck as I have had. Just post if it doesnt work and Ill do what I can to help!

There is a 2nd 4prong power hook-in which im guessing is similuar to the one on the new 24pin PS's as it is labeled alike (ps hookin is 1, other is 2) Now I have another 4 prong hookup on my PS but the wires are different colors so im guessing this would not be the right kind of hookup and have yet to hook it in out of fear of turning my board into a hotplate. Is this 2nd hookin necessary? Please keep in mind for now im trying to hook this all up with a PCI video card.
And here is the exact clue to your problem.   AMD Athlon 64 processors will not POST without the ATX 12V connection (the 4 pin connector near the processor) as this provides the voltage to the CPU.   Traces from the 24 or 20 pin connector don't even route to the processor anymore as the newer ATX standard has the CPU receiving it's power from this 4pin connector.   It's the same connector an Intel Pentium 4 processor would require, so if you have a Pentium 4 support rating on your power supply, it should work.
The four pin connector should have two yellow wires and two black wires, as it provides to +12V and to ground connections for the CPU.  If the colors don't match, check with the power supply vendor before plugging in to prevent damage to your CPU.

  • Anyone else having mic problems with Bionic?

I've had my Bionic since last September. In early January, the mic stopped working. Whenever I call someone, they cannot  hear me. Likewise, if I receive any incoming calls, the person on the other end cannot hear me. When I am heard, I'm told my voice is very muffled and barely audible. I've tested it from several locations around the city with same result. The mic works when I use speakerphone, but won't work in regular calling mode. I checked the usual stuff (mute, volume level, etc.). I've taken the battery out and restarted, rebooted and lastly did a factory reset with no luck. I mailed the phone in to Motorola. They kept it for a week and returned it in the same condition. The mic still doesn't work. I'm only six months into my contract and am really concerned that I can't use the phone effectively. Has anyone had this issue with their Bionic? Do you think Verizon would help with this, or am I just stuck with this phone for the balance of my contract? Other than this issue, I love the Bionic, as it does everything else well.
Thank you for any info or guidance that you may be able to provide for help in resolving this issue.

    Good Afternoon greenhavennn,
I would be frustrated as well, if my callers were unable to hear me on a consistent basis. The problems you have described are not typical for the Droid Bionic as a model, they are likely related to your specific device. We provide one-year manufacture warranties on all new devices purchased directly from Verizon Wireless or an authorized independent agent or retailer.
Was it recommended that you send the handset directly to Motorola? Did you speak with our customer service or data support groups? Has the device been exposed to physical or liquid damage? If we determine that a handset needs to be replaced under warranty(without physical or liquid damage), we can ship you a replacement. You can keep your existing device until the replacement device arrives and then send back the defective unit.
We can review your account if you DM us with your information.

  • Mic problem with skype

Not sure what the problem is. My mic seems to be working but skype does not recongnize. it used to work but now it does not.  Only change that i can see in upgrading to mountain lion.

Please verify that you turn OFF the automatic volume adjustment in Skype. If the volume is still low, you can try the following bypass: install a virtual audio device that will be the middle man between the physical microphone/speakers and Skype. One option is SoliCall Pro which is usually used as a noise cancelling software.

Remove your card from PC boot your bios load default settings go to windows and run the cleaners just to be sure if nothing have showed up, off your PC, install card again boot PC up make sure you don't let Windows to install it as HD audio device thats sometimes happen or don't let windows to install anything if Windows will atempt something U will get proper info just chose no don't install now. Install driver 2.8.0004, after reboot install consoles staff reboot and then install from CD things like THX console etc. you should be good
