Microsoft intune and Forefront

hello All,
We have Forefront protection installed on clients. We use SCCM to update definition files for Forefront on clients. Now, we want to install Intune on these machines. which require uninstallation of SCCM agent. if we uninstall SCCM client, will we be able
to update Forefront definition files using intune?
We do not want to use Endpoint protection that comes with Intune, but want to use our current Forefront protection for clients.
thanks in advance!!!

Forefront Endpoint protection was renamed to system center endpoint protection (SCEP).  SCEP is literally the same software as Intune endpoint protection, just with a different management point (intune vs the sccm console).

  • Microsoft Intune and SCCM 2012 R2 Integration - Windows 7 clients.

    Hi All,
This is our scenario I am trying to find out more about Intune integration with SCCM 2012 R2 and what solution is best for us.
We have a SCCM 2012 R2 instance up and running which services/monitors machines on our internal network. All of these machines are Windows 7 OS. We have laptops that travel frequently and need for these to report back to our SCCM server whilst connected
via internet connections. Also we have multiple "off domain" machines (ie workgroup machines) which we also need to report back to the same SCCM server.
I have read a lot about Intune integration with SCCM but it appears to be targetted at MDM not around PC management.
What would be the best way for us to move forward?
    Thanks in advance.

Just see my reply in the ConfigMgr forums.

  • How to add private APN operator profile using Intune and OMA-URI

    Hi
Is it possible to add to the Windows Phone 8 and 8.1 private APN operator profile using Microsoft Intune and OMA-URI ?
    Thanks

No, the Enterprise Mobile Device Management client in Windows Phone 8 and 8.1 does not provide access to any CSP for configuring APN operator profile.

  • Microsoft Intune was unable to set the desired mobile device policy for one or more users due to the following error: A2CE0100

    Hi!
We have fatal or critical error message on Microsoft Intune Portal but all agents are working just fine. Before opening support ticket we would like to hear comments from the experts on this forum. We would also like to fix this error before starting to
    manage mobile devices with Intune.
    Error message on Intune Portal:
"Microsoft Intune was unable to set the desired mobile device policy for one or more users due to the following error: A2CE0100"
    Repeated: 19 times.
    Class: (System) Policy
Random Fatal error message on C:\Program Files\Microsoft\OnlineManagement\Logs\PolicyAgent.log found from one Windows 8.1 client:

That said, we are not facing any specific problem but we would like to find symptom of this repeating error message on Intune Portal . We would appreciate to get any thoughts about this case.

  • [Microsoft Intune] Deployed software not showing up in web portal

I am testing microsoft intune in a testlab. I have downloaded the trial and installed it on the server and I synced my AD users with intune. After that i added a windows 8.1 device. I can reboot the machine remotely with the admin console and i can schedule
virus scans. I can also see the detected software on the admin console. I've deployed a software with the intune admin console to that device and all users but when i login in the company web portal and go to the apps it doesnt list the software that i have
deployed, instead it just gives me a message saying: We couldn't find a match. Try a different search
    term or category.
I deployed the software a couple days ago and still didnt show up in the web portal on any of the users. However when I go to the Windows Intune Center on the windows 8.1 machine and check for updates a new window pops up and says that there is one update
ready to be installed, which is the software i've deployed. I press install but the installation doesnt progress at all.

    Hi,
I also has the same issue and scenario highlighted.
I'm currently using the 30 days trial.
This are the steps I have done for publishing app installers on Company Portal:
    1. Created a user group call "Test" under Admin Console > Groups > All Users
    2. Added 2 Office365 user accounts in "Test" group
    3. Publish exec and msi app installers using the Intune Software Publisher tool
    4. Select the app installer and click Manage Deployment under Admin Console > Software > Managed Software
    5. Add "Test" group and set the deployment action as Available Install
    6. Under the Current Status Of This Software of the app installer, I can see the Office365 accounts in "Test" group
Is there anything which I have missed or done wrongly?

  • Microsoft Intune licensing count

    Hi guys
I have 500 licenses for Microsoft Intune
I know in mobile devices, when I enroll device with a user name it counts as an assigned license for user (1 of 5)
    but what about Windows devices?
I just downloaded the client and installed it on all my laptops, but the enrollment is certificate authentication based and not user.
    1. How do I know what's the count for my Windows devices?
    2. how do I see how many licenses I have left? it's not like in the Office 365 admin portal where I can see
    Assigned - X .
    thanks!
    Tamir Levy

Hi! first of all - thanks!
    finally I get a reply...
ok, so I understand my limitation. 5 devices per license.
but still two things to keep in mind and that's why I'm still confused
    1. on Windows devices I don't really care about the user. I have hundreds of PCs and I don't care about user linkage as it's one PC per one user (Laptop) and all the deployments are the same for everyone.
plus - I can find out who's the client by the computer name convention. so... they PCs are not attached to users. I didn't even create the users.
    2. I do use Intune both for PCs and for mobile devices, but it's for 2 different populations and for MDM I do create users and enroll them with the username.
so... how can I know (and I don't thing it should be too complex with PowerShell or with manual calculation) how many licenses available I have left?
In Office 365 for example, I can always go to the licenses are and see X out of Y are being used.
In Intune - I feel like there's no such thing and I can get in real time a message that I cannot enroll devices anymore just because I wasn't able to be prepared for it in advanced

  • Microsoft Intune Update Error

    Hello
We have recently installed Microsoft Intune on all of our computers and they all work fine except one, it had updated but not it is caught in a update loop where it restarts the machine after it failed to install updates but once it boots back up it
tries to install the updates again than restarts which is where it will let me log in again. does anyone have any advice?

    Hi,
It is probably related the update itself and not Intune in that way, here are some tips on how to troubleshoot a failed software updates.
    https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/6c7dfc54-216e-4454-bbf5-933c115967e5/windows-update-fails-every-time
If you don't want it to try to install it again, create a group and exclude the update in question for that group while you troubleshoot..

    Hi
Nope, there is no Management pack available. You can check the Management pack here
http://social.technet.microsoft.com/wiki/contents/articles/16174.microsoft-management-packs.aspx it is the most accurate list. For checking Intune Status check this Dashboard

  • Computer stuck on "Installing Microsoft Intune Client Software"

    Hi,
One of our computers installed Microsoft Intune again after his harddrive crashed. We remote wiped the specific device from the admin panel. The client installed but never really succesfully finished the installation. We tried to uninstall the agent again
using de admin console and the "ProvisioningUtil /UninstallAgents /WindowsIntune" cmd.
Now the client doesn't appear anywhere in the admin portal, Nor has the device been "enrolled" in the Company Portal-app. The agent reports with it's Icon in the tray (with Hourglass). When hovered above it states "Installing Microsoft Intune
    Client Software".
Serveral days has been passed and still it hasn't resolved yet. Can someone help me here?
    Note: OS: Windows 8.1 x64
    Kind Regards,
    UFadmin

Please open a support case and they can help you remove the agents from the machine.

  • Deploy Symantec certificate profiles to mobile devices using Microsoft Intune to manage company resources like WiFi

We are planning to deploy Symantec certificate profiles to Mobile devices to manage company resource like WiFi. I've seen documentation on Technet and the post here http://ronnydejong.com/2014/12/15/part-1-deploy-certificates-to-mobile-devices-using-microsoft-intune-ndes-overview/ that
we need to install Intune NDES connector which needs to be installed on NDES server. These docs are true when we are using Microsoft PKI.
Here, we're planning to use Symantec cloud PKI to deploy the certificates to mobile devices. So, I would like to know which are the required on-premises components ? NPS, NDES  or something else? Any documentation URL would be helpful ;) We're in planning
face hence the question in the forum.

Thank you Jason for the reply !
    Sorry for stupid questions !
Does that mean, NDES is needed only for initial enrollment process of a mobile device? We don't need it deploying Symantec certificate profiles to manage company resources like WiFi VPN etc... Or I'm totally lost here?
My understanding is : Mobile devices will get enrolled to Intune and that device will become a managed device. Now, the mobile device needs to get a connectivity to company resources like VPN or WiFi and for the we may need to deploy certificate profiles.
Isn't it ? So, you were saying for this process we don't need to have NDES. (or I'm wrong here as well).
If so, we'll be deploying a public certificate to all the devices via certificate profile deployment and the devices need to get connected with issuing authority to get a device specific private key before connecting to WiFi or VPN?

  • PADT through Microsoft Intune

    Hi Guys
I had a quick attempt to deploy a PADT (Powershell Application Deployment Toolkit) package through Microsoft Intune. It failed on the first attempt. I have to be honest I havent been able to spend much time on this but I was wondering if anyone knew whether
    this was possible at all?
My idea is to package Office 365 Pro Plus/Adobe reader etc through PADT using a script and then push to non domain computers enrolled with Microsoft Intune.
Has anyone attempted this yet? I know this isnt the PADT forum, hope this is still fine.
EDIT* I dont need to know how to package this. Just if this will work. Thanks
    Thanks in advance
    NN

    Hi Ronni
Thanks for the reply. Its not true about not being able to run cmd files through Microsoft Intune, I have done this many times. One reason was to push a wallpaper to non domain joined devices. Another to modify the registry. So this is definitely possible.
Edit* looking at the link, you shouldn't need any tools, especially ones that cost to run a small bat file.
I am just wondering if PADT can be published using the .exe with the files in the subfolders though. I will start testing properly when I have more time if this is feasible.
    Thanks
    NN

  • Will Microsoft Intune work with Windows 10

Will Microsoft Intune work with Windows 10?  I tried to install says agent is not installed

    Hi,
The client cannot be installed, however you can enroll Windows 10 devices using the builitn OMA-DM agent, and enroll them as Mobile Devices, that works, supported, most likely not as Jason pointed out as well..
