Deploying Office 365 Pro Plus using System Center Configuration Manager 2012 SP1
Hello,
I am trying to deploy Office 365 Pro Plus to my client machines (more than 100) via. System Center Configuration Manager 2012 SP1. It will use one administrator account for installation. But as per the licensing, we can install Office for up to 5 PCs/Macs
and 5 more Windows tablets/iPads with one Office 365 Pro Plus licenses. If this is the case, then I cannot install Office 365 Pro Plus with one admin account to my 100+ machines, as it will violate the licenses of O365 Pro Plus.
So, what is the alternative approach?
Thanks
RajIf this is the case, then I cannot install Office 365 Pro Plus with one admin account to my 100+ machines, as it will violate the licenses of O365 Pro Plus.
Hi,
this is incorrect.
There is no licensing restriction/control for the *installation* account at all, the licensing is related to who is *using* Office365ProPlus *after* installation is performed. This control, is implemented by the Microsoft Account, or OrgID, used to sign-in/activate
to Office365 when *using* Office365ProPlus.

VHD for System Center Configuration Manager 2012 R2
I just downloaded of TechNet the VHD of System Center Configuration Manager 2012 R2. However when you bring it online it is in the domain Conteso. I have searched all over TechNet and the web, but there is no record of the admin password nor is there
any documented instructions with the download.

System Center Configuration Manager 2012 R2
In site configuration > Sites > configure Site Components > Software update point > Products
How come I do not see Server 2012 R2, I see Server 2012?The first SUP sync has to be successfull in order for those products to appear. Have you already examined wsyncmgr.log?

Hi,
I required some one to help designing an SCCM 2012 Solution. I dont have any knowledge on Design Part, This is my first deployment
My goal: Interconnect 3 remote offices and The infrastructure is as follows:
Primary Site Server ( HQ ) : 1000 users
Secondary Site ( Location1) : 2000 Users
Secondary Site ( Location2) : 2000 Users
Link Between Primary and Secondary Sites : 8 MBPS MPLS link
Database will be installed on a remote SQL 2012 Server.
Please let me know is there any tool to generate Design document.
If possible please design and put the Image on the blog. Why using a remote SQL server? I'd install it locally. There is no tool available.
Just make sure that you are using a standalone primary site (therefore no CAS) and place a secondary at location 1 and 2.

whether i can install all sql databases for SCOM on same sql instance or does it require separate instances for opsmanger database , dw database and ACS database?
Thanks in advance..Hi,
Yes, all SCOM SQL databases can run on the same instance of SQL server.

System Center Service Manager 2012 SP1 upgrade install error
I am trying to upgrade my SCSM 2012 front end app server to SP1 and am getting these failures in the log when it fails with the error "Service Manager is not in a valid state"
09:07:58:Could not find WCS portal web site in IIS metabase!
09:08:02:***ERROR*** Microsoft System Center 2012 - Service Manager: Microsoft System Center 2012 - Service Manager is not in a valid state.
09:08:02:Application Ended
09:08:02:-222
Can someone tell me how to get this rectified? The WCS portal is installed and running and has been for months. The DW is upgraded but I cannot get the SharePoint self service portal or the App server to upgrade due to this error.Hello
One question you have the website installed on the same
server on which you have the Server Management
Server, so if you can
not make your upgrade to
SP1, this changed because
a prerequisite of System Center Service
Manager 2012 SP1 in which you can not have
the server Mangement and
website on the same server they have to be
separate. -

Getting error when trying to create Exchange Connector in System Center Service Manager 2012
The connection to the server was unsuccessful. Please check the server name and/or credentials entered.
Additional Information: The server URL is not accessible or the user does not have permission to access it (message: The request failed. The remote server returned an error: (401) Unauthorized.
Warm Regards, Pramod Kumar Singh Manager-ITSomeone sorted out this issue by installing API 1.2 and copying the dll files to the service manager server ,service folder and replacing it with API 2.0 dll files.
Also, your question is related to SCSM, please post at SCSM forum if you have further question.

How to check System Center Service manager 2012 R2 license version
Hi,
I have installed Microsoft System Center 2012 R2 Service manager 3months before but do not have remember whether I put permanent license key or evaluation, can anyone please let me know how can I check whether this is evaluation or permanent license?
Warm Regards, Pramod Kumar Singh Manager-ITHi,
During setup of the retail edition of System Center 2012 – Service Manager, you have the option of performing the installation without a product key and instead installing Service Manager as an evaluation edition. The evaluation
edition times out 180 days after installation. If you start with an evaluation version of Service Manager and you rerun Setup and install the retail edition or select edition, and you decide to use the existing databases that you created originally,
your installation will time out after the original expiration date.
I summarize the following steps and hopefully it will help you.
You could find the install date on :HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\System Center\2010\Service Manager\Setup"
Try to change the system time from install date to install date + 180days.
If you can't open the console again, you are evaluation Edition.
Rerun Setup to install Retail Edition or Select Edition.
For more information, please review the links below:

How to sequence Microsoft System Center Service Manager?
AppV Version: 5.0
OS: Windows 7 64-bit
Application Name: System Center Service Manager 7.5.2905.0
Issue: This applications has a shortcut named as "Service Manager Shell" which will launch as shown in screenshot below,
The same shortcut will launch as shown in screenshot below with Sequenced Application,
Please let me know how to make this shortcut launch same as source.
Regards,
ReddyI would check the package for any reference of the specific path to the C:\Program Files\Microsoft System Center 2012 path. Also have you run a ProcMon trace to see where the app is looking for the files? The certificate may be pointing to the C:\Program
Files Directory rather than the App-V path..

Management pack version difference in System Center - Operations Manager 2012 R2 - Help us.
Hi,
I have SC Operation manager 2012 r2 in my environment. It has managed with multiple management servers.
I have import some unsealed MPs through Ops SDK code and by manually using Operation manager console.
Here with i tried to install higher version of MPs and upgrade its version from 1.1.0.0 to 6.0.0.0.
case 1:
After successful installation of some MPs and check Operation manager console, it showing newly upgraded version(6.0.0.0).
Then i have import that MP and checked its version inside it showing 1.1.0.0(older version).
Here the imported MP has 1.1.0.0 version and console showing its version as 6.0.0.0.
Why it showing different versions in imported MP(inside xml) and Operations manager console view?
case 2:
After that i tried to import other MPs using console. But it showing below error;
Verification failed with 1 errors:
Error 1:
Found error in 2|Monitoring.ActiveDirectory_server|6.0.0.0|Monitoring.ActiveDirectory_server|| with message:
Could not load management pack [ID=Monitoring.Base, KeyToken=9e875220a3987e0b, Version=6.0.0.0]. The management pack was not found in the store.
: Version mismatch. The management pack ([Monitoring.Base, 9e875220a3987e0b, 1.1.0.0]) requested from the database was version 6.0.0.0 but the actual version available is 1.1.0.0.
Its happened in multiple management servers scenario. So Is any possibility to happen because of multiple management servers scenario?. There is no issues in this same MPs while i tried in single management server. These same MPs are imported and working
fine in single management server scenario.
Help me to solve these 2 issues!!
Thanks,
satheesh1) At first, you should make sure that the imported MP has correct version. I will open the XML of the imported MP and check its current version e.g.
When you open the xml file of imported MP, the version number is shown as
<Manifest>
<Identity>
<ID>Microsoft.SystemCenter.Visualization.Component.Library.Resources</ID>
<Version>1.0.0.2</Version>
<Identity>
<Name>Resources library</Name>
<References>
<Reference Alias="System">
<ID>System.Library</ID>
<Version>1.0.0.1</Version>
From the above sample, the imported MP version number is 1.0.0.2.
2) I am using operation console to import the management pack and check the version number in operations console whether it is updated to new version 1.0.0.2
3) Using operations console to export the MP which has imported in step 1) and open it to check what is the version number of MP. Make sure that the version is 1.0.0.2
4) If the above procedure provide a prefer match of version number, re-import all problematic MP.
5) At last, you may use the following SQL to check whether the correct version number of MP is stored in DB successful
select version, friendlyname from managementpackview where friendlyname like 'Microsoft.SystemCenter.Visualizatio%'

SQL Server 2012 deployment with System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) 2012
hi,
we have tried to deploy the SQL Server 2012 to our development machines with SCCM 2012 without success.
Commandline parameters or Configuration.ini in either case the installation failed without any useful errorlog.
Exists any howto which covers this scenario?

genneHello,
Please see the following article about some requirements for SQL Server instances intended for SCCM 2012:
http://www.sqlcoffee.com/Tips0019.htm
Could please check to see if a Summary.txt log file exists after those installation attempts? The following article may help you locate the file on disk:
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms143702(v=sql.110)
Please share this log file with us, if possible.
Hope this helps.

System Center Configuration Manager input reports in Sharepoint
This might be a tricky one.
I have a report that I use, and input is the user name. The username gives me the PC name, and that gives me the option for copy / paste the PC-name into my remote viewer.
Is it possible to implement Computers for a specific user name into my sharepoint?
This topic first appeared in the Spiceworks CommunityIt does not depend on the number of distribution points.
That marketing material you link to is from 2009 and was inaccurate even back then. Take a look at the Gartner research - Altiris is a dying product that's stopped even trying to compete with ConfigMgr.
If you want things to deploy fast, that is certainly possible to do. There are customers who expect software to be installed in less than 5 minutes by ConfigMgr. This is achievable, but has trade offs. ConfigMgr is designed to manage hundreds
of thousands of devices, so by default it isn't set up to do things instantly.
How often are your clients checking for policy?
How often is the collection you are deploying to updated?
As soon as the client finds out about a required deployment (by downloading policy about being in a collection with a deployment), it will start trying to download the content for the deployment from the distribution point and then run the program. Make
sure the device gets in the collection right away and have the client check in more often, and the install will start quicker. But, that will put more load on your management points.
