Middleware Question
When we first went live with our CRM Online implementation, we identified the customers that we wanted to bring over from R/3, listed them in the CUSTOMER_MAIN filter and ran an initial load. For each new customer we followed the same process. Three years later, the list is extensive and the initial load takes 2+ hours to run.
My question is, what are my options? I would ideally like to bring over all old & future customers to CRM automatically and not be required to run an initial load each time. Could I just delete the entries in the filter and run another initial load? Would this cause inconsistencies? In PIDE, we have Sold-to's, Ship-to's, Payers, and Bill-to's setup. Would the initial (and delta)loads only bring these roles into CRM?

Just to clarify - my understanding and what I have observed is that once you specify criteria in an object filter (in this case, customer number in CUSTOMER_MAIN) the delta load will ONLY bring in any changes to those customer numbers specified in the filter, right? Any new customers (with/ different customer numbers) will need to be added to the filter. This is why I need to run an initial load each time I need a new customer in CRM.
I would like to remove the customer numbers from the filter and just run 1 initial load bringing the existing customers (as specified in PIDE) and then allow the delta to bring over changes and new customers. I just want to make sure that this does not cause any inconsistencies for existing data in CRM.

We're investigating on how to possibly connect a MS eCom solution (MS Commerce Server) to a SAP CRM backend.
With the correct middleware and some Bapi's this would probably be do-able solution I guess, but does anyone have info on standard setups for this?
- Standard Bapi's to use?
- Middleware to be used (will XI do it all or do we need a 3th party middleware solution)?
- Are any of the standard MS eCom screens aligned with what's in the SAP Badi's?
- What about pricing information - is the info returning from the IPC valid for MS eCom display?

Middleware Question - Initial Load vs. Synchronize
Is the initial load (transaction R3AS) of an adapter object required for replication to be carried out from R/3 to CRM? Can I synchronize (R3AS4) instead if I don't need the existing data?
Also, is it even required to do some sort of action (either initial load or synchronize) before we can start replicating?
Our issue is that some items that are under a certain adapter object aren't replicating and I am guessing that I need to either do the initial load or synchronize it. Is this correct?Hi,

In CRM ,You can also do the filter settingf for the objects in transaction <b>R3AC1</b> ( ADAPTOR object filter settings ) if required , similerly check entry in transaction R3AC3 and R3AC5

Installation Guidance (WebLogic 10.3.5 / Oracle Forms,Reports 11.1.1.6)
Goal : I am a designer/developer, have worked on already-installed systems for years, now between contracts and want/need to set up my own installation of Oracle Database 11g R2 database and development tools including Oracle Forms/Reports 11g (also SQL Developer and Application Express, but these come with the DB).
Caveat : have not done an installation of the DB and development tools for years and I know a lot has changed.
System : Windows 7 (64 bit), 6 GB RAM, 600 GB Hard Drive
Here is an overview of the steps as I understand them from the documentation I've been able to find. I know there are lots of details for each step but I want to know if the overall order is right.
1. Install DB (downloaded Oracle 11G Release 2, ready to install Enterprise Edition).
2. Install Repository Creation Utility 11g Release 1 (11.1.1.5.0) to set up the schemas for Fusion Middleware
** QUESTION ** where on earth does one find this? Anyone have a link for it? Or does it come with a larger patchset/installation set?
3. Install Oracle WebLogic Server 11g (10.3.5)
4. Install Oracle Portal, Forms, Reports and Discoverer Release 11g (11.1.1.2.0) but do not configure (advice given in documentation for 11.1.1.6 Patchset)
5. Install and Configure 11.1.1.6 Patchset
Any comments or suggestions welcome. Hope to avoid pitfalls if possible.

Actually I'm wondering if it would be better to focus this forum more to CRM Webclient UI questions instead of just being CRM 2007. CRM 7.0 is more an evolution of CRM 2007, so the technical question set would just be some additional deltas on top of the questions right now. If you look at the PCUI we don't have a CRM 40 PCUI forum nor a CRM 50 PCUI forum.
So I'm going to make your question a sticky and rename it slightly to see if we can some more thoughts.
My initial proposal would be the following:
Rename this forum CRM Webclient ( CRM 2007 and beyond )
Add a new forum for CRM Middleware questions
After we get some community feedback, I will send in the comments to folks at SAP that manage the organization of these forums If there is a strong opinion to do something, I'm sure they will take a look and make some adjustments.

Question re Fusion Middleware Repository

Hopefully this is the proper place to post this question and hopefully I can articulate it properly. I am new to Fusion Middleware and I am at the point of using the repository creation utility to manage the repository. This is a new installation.
I come to the rcu utility page where I am asked to create a new prefix. That I understand. My question is, how do I see what prefixes are already in use for a particular component/schema owner? Is there a view in the repository which enables me to see this information?
Also, is it possible to remove an existing prefix and if so how?
Part of my confusion is that I don't really understand how the prefix is utilized. I don't see an explanation anywhere in the documentation. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Bill WagmanThe prefix will be part of a schema name in a database. If you go into a sqlplus commandline and issue:
select username from all_users;
You will see all of the existing schemas/users, such as <PREFIX>OIM, <PREFIX>MDS, etc. You can connect as a user:
conn <PREFIX>_OIM/<pwd>@SID
You can see what components are already installed against a prefix when you select that prefix going through RCU again. Assuming install mode, you will see the "already installed" components grey'd out.
There is also a remove/drop mode in RCU. Once you remove all of the components utilizing a prefix, you have essentially removed the prefix. -
Middleware products install process questions

I have to install middleware products (OID, OAM, OID, SOA, ...) on my configuration.
I first install Oracle Fusion Middleware Infrastructure 12c, then I ran $MW_HOME/oracle_common/bin/rcu in order to create database schemas (Oracle AS Repository Components only).
Now, I have following questions :
1) As my policy is to create one domain per product, do I have to create an infra_domain or not?
2) Do you think this installation chronology is correct?
a) Install all middleware products.
b) Run rcu for each product.
c) Create all products domains.

Yes Weblogic 12C would work with HTTP Server 12 .
Yes it is necessary to install WLS 10.3.6 because the 11g products which are Identity and Access Manager, Internet Directory, WebCenter would only be supported with 10.3.6.
So it is mandatory to install Weblogic 10.3.6 in a separate the Middleware Home.

Now that the WebLogic and OHS environments are functional, there are some configurations that will be required to set up your Forms environment. Before deploying your own 11g forms, I would test to see if Oracle's test form (test.fmx) can run which is deployed by default in %ORACLE_HOME%\forms. What is supposed to happen is that when you run the URL you are using, Oracle Forms will:
1. Attempt to download the Java Runtime if not installed already. A Java Runtime (JRE) is required to run Oracle Forms 11gR2. The application will try to download the JRE specified in the formsweb.cfg file (sets up the Web environment for Forms) based off the jpi_codebase parameter (if using IE) or jpi_mimetype (if using other supported browsers). Make sure that your browser is able to download the JRE. Alternatively, you may also download a JRE from the Java website http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/index.html. NOTE: Unless you are running Internet Explorer 64-bit (if you simply run Internet Explorer, this is 32-bit), I would download the 32-bit JRE.
2. Attempt to start the test.fmx form deployed in the FORMS_PATH variable. This variable is set in default.env, which is the standard environment variable deployment file for Forms (formsweb.cfg also references this file in the default section). If successful, you should receive a page saying "Installed successfully" as well as show you the version of Oracle Forms you are running (ex. 11.1.2.1.0).

Doubt in Middleware configuration setting in transaction code - smoeac

For your information this is a new SRM 7.0 installation and I am connecting to a existing ECC system.
I have performed all the step metioned in SAP Note: 720819 for middleware configuration in SRM system. Bit confused about the setting in Transaction code - SMOEAC. I have done following step in transaction code - SMOEAC.
1. Created a new site type R/3
2. I have mentioned RFC connection name (RFC connection from SRM to ECC) in 'Site Attributes'.
3. System showed correct Logical system name When I clicked on 'Get value' option.
For your kind information, a site type CRM exist in the system without any data in 'Site Attributes'. We have not define the CRM site. It come while install the new SRM server.
My question, apart from the above setting. do I need to define enter any data for the site type CRM in SMOEAC?

XMLP 5.6.2 Generic setup questions
We have this configuration and wish to get started with XML Publisher:
11.5.9 Linux Production application server
9.2.0.6.0 Linux Production database server
11.5.9 Linux Development/Test (shared) application server
9.2.0.6.0 Linux Development/Test (shared) database server
Our Fusion Middleware rep suggested that we download the XMLP562_generic.zip and install XML Publisher.
I have read the Install Notes and have a few technical questions that the rep could not field.
1) Where does the Publisher get installed? The application server?
2) If so, and we install it on our shared Dev/Test server, will it affect both instances?
3) 10g is required to 'send' or 'schedule' reports. What is the definition of 'sending'?
4) After it is installed, will we see any changes to our 11i existing .rdf reports?
I'd like to know these answers before we pass the instructions along to our DBAs.

Really stupid question - Migrating from 6i to 11g
Hi all,
I'm a developer that have been working with oracle since Forms 3, right now I use Forms 6i and I would like to know what I need to use Forms 11g. I understand this new environment is web based, but to start developing and deploying, what I need? for example if I buy the Oracle Forms & Report 11g, I also will need the OAS? or just with Forms and Report I could deploy (somehow) the application?
Please don't flame me, I just want to understand how this works now.
Best RegardsAs my old college profession used to say - "The only stupid question is the one that doesn't get asked!" Forms 11g only supports web deployment. This means you will need the OAS with the Forms and Reports Services installed as well. Typically, the setup is three tiered ( 1 server = Database, 1 server = Application Server, 1 server = Infrastructure server ). You don't have to set up the technology stack multitiered - all three could reside on the same server or you could have the all three on the same machine but is not recommended. I would at least have the database on a server seperate from OAS.

A few questions and some things we found about Memory Management
We have been development a pretty complex RIA in flash; true
we probably should have used flex but we are very heavily invested
in flash and moving to flex was not really an option due to time
constraints and the learning curve associated with changing. That
reminds me are the Flex UI Objects going to be made available for
Flash CS3 I mean that advanced datagrid would be nice?
The application is a order processing and document
management system that has around 150 swf’s and I am posting
here to let people know what we found through our development and
testing cycles and also have a few questions that I am hoping
someone will at least point me in the right direction.
We were kind of disappointed to find that you could no
longer duplicate Movies and were forced to reload them if we wanted
different instances, but we got over that fast. Keeping this in
mind we decided to make as many dynamic screens as we could but
these turned out to be horribly time consuming. I mean sure we
could make the fields jump around like fleas on a dogs back (and it
was a great joke) but not very practical. So back to the IDE and
fla creation we went. This leads me to my first question has anyone
see heard of or thought about a SWF file reader that would read the
layout of a SWF and then generate the actionscript as output?
As we were developing we found that it was more complex, and
I think unnecessarily so, to get connected to a database. We use
ColdFusion as our “middleware” so it wasn’t to
bad and this leads me to my next question. Is there or has there
been any indication that Flex data services or well I guess BlazeDS
now is available for Flash CS3?
So we went on our merry little way and everything was going
great until testing this is when we started to see what kind of
memory flash really eats up. In the beginning our app would take up
a gig through the course of a day.
Any Class that we created we added a CleanUp method to it.
Yes we used weak listeners, yes we destroyed, and all references to
the main movies, and yes that was it the main movies.

we probably should have used flex but we are very heavily invested
in flash and moving to flex was not really an option due to time
constraints and the learning curve associated with changing. That
reminds me are the Flex UI Objects going to be made available for
Flash CS3 I mean that advanced datagrid would be nice?
The application is a order processing and document
management system that has around 150 swf’s and I am posting
here to let people know what we found through our development and
testing cycles and also have a few questions that I am hoping
someone will at least point me in the right direction.

Security question in obiee 11g
Hi,
I have a question on security configuration on what we have in 10 and deploying to 11g.
Q1. how deploy external database security(users, groups) to OBIEE 11g.
we used external database security in 10g. all the users and groups maintained in database and obiee rpd has security groups. repository has group information only so it is deployed groups information to obiee 11g by upgrade assistant but how can it deploy users in external database?
Q2. all the users and roles in LDAP server. in this case how obiee 11g read users and group information?

Obiee11g is intergated with weblogic fusion middleware (Console,EM). in that console have feature to enable mulitiple LDAP authentication
while configuring AD via weblogic console we need to give the users and group info

Middleware on CRM 7.0 for ERP and CRM sales integration
Hi all,
i am involved in a CRM upgrade project in order to repleace the client current release with CRM 7.0.
currently, my client handles sales integration between ERP and CRM using middleware fucntion and in particular SCENARIO A that allows to create sales orders both in the CRM system and in the R/3 system and to change them mutually in both systems.
my question is: new release 7.0 covers all those included functionalities by default without implementing this scenario? If yes, how and what exactly.

this can be done. You can call MDM web services for either doing a Free form search or even run a MDM matching strategy to find potential duplicates defined based on rules in MDM.
In one of our projects we have used Web services call from CRM ecommerce portal to MDM for doing a Customer search.
