MIDP 2.0: Problems on real device

Hi All,
im experiencing an issue with my small midlet. I wrote it using NBeans5Beta and tested on WTK 2.3 and it worked fine- without any exceptions beeing thrown etc. But on real device I have - Moto V600 (MIDP 2.0, CLDC 1.0) it crashes in some strange way.
The app has several classes with their forms. An those forms it is possible to 'click' on some items and this navigates to the same forms but with a bit different content. It looks like this:
1. Class 1 has its form (FormClass1) - that is created& populated on creation and modified when handling an item command from this initial form. This form serves as micro browser through hyperlinked pages.
When on a specific textitem a command is invoked the class just clears the form using:
FormClass1.deleteAll()
changes the title:
FormClass1.setTile("xxx")
and adds some new elements (text items) to the form.
2. Class2 has also its form (FormClass2)- and behaves exaclty the same as class 1 with one remark - no title is changed.
When I run the midlet on WKT simulator - it works just fine - no issues, crashes, exceptions. Ive tried with several sims (some Moto provided, WKT several versions) and it works.
When I upload it to my V600 - it crashes on Class1 when 'clickin' an action that rebuilds the form. One important remark here is that once I click the link on Page1 (ex. targeting to Page2), i can see that my form is reloaded with Page2 contents - but when I only press my up or down button on the mobile (what makes navigation on page elements) - the app exits - im back on my phone main screen. The message is that application performed some incorrect operation.
What is even stranger - is that when I perform same operations for Class2 - it works - i can delete all elements from its form - readd new elements and still navigate without crashes.
From the code perspective those two classes looks almost the same (structure). And this makes me even more confusing.
Can I test it somehow on my PC (simulator) with some more strict restrictions - that I will catch this issue and can debug it ?
Looking for help.
Thanks in advance
Cheers
hypark

Huh, answerying my own questions ( i do not expect any dollars from that :)).
Anwyay - doing new Form() instead of deleteAll on FormClass1 helped a lot :). Still dont know what is the root cause of that situation but now will look into it more efficient.
For Moto phones there is a nice utility called Midway (2.*). Once U have an USB cable You can track with that utility the output from Midlet running on real device (both exceptions, and System.out/err statements :)).

  • How can I load font in real device?

I am building mobile text SMS in my native country language using j2me wireless toolkit. But I face one problem. Without installing font in windows font directory, I did not display my country font. I used Unicode for my project. My question is:
    * How does the real device get my desire font without install it to device.
    * If I want to give fontname.ttf file with my package. Where can I load this file in midlet package/ midlet suite? Does it work on device?
    Please, help me.

  • Secure certificate in a real device??

    regards!!
I have a doubt ... I´m develops an application in J2ME using a secure connection with HTTPS, and
I'm using apache with self signed certificate ...., (use OpenSSL to do this), to run the application in the emulator,
I need to add the root certificate to the certificate store of the emulator, once done, the connection
    works perfectly .....
my problem is that: when I moving the application to an real device (I'm doing tests with a nokia 5310 and a Sony K550),
the applicative don´t work and show me a runtimeException: Invalid certificate (bad certificate ).... I guess that is because I need to add the root
certificate to use for apache, in the real device ......, but I searched and read many forums, but i can´t find how
to do this... anyone have any idea?

You most probably need a real certificate from Certificate Authority recognized by your device.

  • Problem with recording device

Try to use Echo/Sound test service, as well as a couple friends on the list and get the following message "Problem with recording device".  I have also searched in the community, but found many issues releated, but no solutions that fit the problem.  Headset: Turtle Beach XP SevenSkype Version: 6.22.81.105Operating System: Windows 7 Ultimate Service Pack 1; 64 - bit Tested in sound recorder, and records my voice, and able to playback and hear my horrible singing. I did find a rather odd way to resolve the issue temporarily. I also use hangouts from time to time, and when I start a video call, it will ring, and send out, and I can then call out using skype to a friend/sound test and it will work fine for the rest of the call. Able to talk, and do whatever.  Unfortunatley, with the listed method above I have to repeat the process everytime I want to make a call, or accept someones call. Rather... Annoying. Any solution to this, or what can be causing this issue?

I suggest  you download and install the latest generic Realtek audio drivers as they should be compatible with the computer model you listed in a previous post.  I run a similar model to that one and have no issues with it.  Skype is rather resource intensive on that netbook when participating in video calls due to the limitations of the processor and onboard video chipset. The latest generic Realtek audio drivers (Select "High Definition Audio Codecs" - 32 bit Windows 7)http://www.realtek.com/downloads/okay, i have pretty much given up trying to use Skype on this netbook but i came back to report the known data just in case anyone else might find it useful. to begin with 1) let's get this upfront. i am ignorant, ill-informed, tech-illerate and stupid. i stipulate to this going in. i've NO idea what the hell i'm doing. 2) hardware = ASUS eeePC1005HA, Win7Starter32, 1G DDR2, Intel Atom280, 250GHDD 3) per the above suggestion i went to the RealTek site and looked for the driver, but first 4) i had SlimDriver look around for me and it said there was a newer driver (i think dated 2011) which i had it download & install 5) so that didn't seem to make the slightest difference in Skype performance (i.e. none) so 6)as in (3) above i went to http://152.104.125.41/downloads/downloadsView.aspx?Langid=1&PNid=24&PFid=24&Level=4&Conn=3&DownTypeID=3&GetDown=false and it offered me 2 choices of sites from which to download Version R2.78 for 32bit Win7 so i picked one at random and it downloaded 2 files, 1 a .exe and the other a PART which i have no idea what the hell that is. i barely know enuf to double clic on the filename in WinExplorer Downloads so that's what i did first on the .exe file cuz that one had a file size greater than zero (unlike the PART file) and got an error message saying Win7 didn't know what to do with this file and could i please suggest a software to use on it. 7) so i deleted it and started over with the same result and then i repeated step 7) only this time i got only the .exe file in my Downloads folder and when i double-clicked it i actually got the Install Wizard to run. 9) so while the Wizard was running i went and looked in my "Windows 7 In Depth" by Cowart & Knittel and found nothing in the index under RealTek so i went and looked at Drivers and based on clues i found there i went to Control Panel ->Hardware & Sound -> Device Manager ->RealTek HD Audio [hidden under expandable Processors - Sound, Video & game conrollers]->(LeftClick to get Update Driver Software), and wait about a year and a half for 'Onliine Search for Software', followed by the message "the best driver software for your device is already installed". 9)so by this time the Install Wizard has finished Uninstalling the previous version of the driver and wants me to RESTART and that's right now in real time so i am now closing this browser and if i ever finish restarting i will continue this response in a new reply window starting with step (10), whatever that turns out to be. the suspense is killing me.

  • Problem with registering device in Sybase Control Center with SUP 2.2 SP04

    Hi,
I have Sybase Unwired Platform SP04, and I am trying to register my Android device in Sybase Control Center. I registered application connection with HWC as a template. I also installed 2 Sybase apps from Google Play Store on my Android device - Sybase Hybrid Web Container and Sybase Mobile Workflow 2.1. When I tried connecting to Sybase Control Center from my Android device using Sybase Mobile Workflow 2.1, there were no log updates at all. I entered IP address of my computer where I installed SUP   as server name. It seemed like Sybase Mobile Workflow 2.1 did not work at all on my Android device.  However, there are some log messages when I try to connect to SCC through Sybase Hybrid Web Container - "Engine Startup", "Queued Settings Request", "Communication Error".
I was able to successfully register my Android Emulator on SCC using Hybrid Web Container app and test my hybrid web app. What could be the reason for not being able to register a real device on SCC? Is this the wrong Sybase app used on the device? Or some kind of network issue? Both my android device and my computer are connected to the same home WiFi network and have 192.168.x.y IP addresses, which are local IP addresses accordng to my knowledge.
I was told that if I am unable to open SCC on the device by typing https://<IP_address>:8283/scc in a browser, then my device won't be able to access SCC. And, in fact, my Android device cannot open SCC in its browser, while my Android emulator can.
I have tried using USB or WiFi tethering to so that my laptop actually uses exactly the same Internet connection as my Android phone, but this didn't help either. If someone has any idea on how to fix this, your help will be appreciated!
    - Jake Alexander

When I open that page on my device's browser, it says that my browser couldn't connect to it.
I don't think my Firewall blocks port 5001, because I have never set it to do it, and I don't see any outbound or inbound rules on my Windows Firewall to block port 5001. I don't think that my WiFi network would block port 5001, but I can't be sure of it. However, I was told that if I create a portable WiFi hotspot and connect my computer with SUP on it    to the hotspot, then my computer and Android device would be on the same network even without Internet Connection, and I would be able to connect to SCC on my device, However, even in this case it did not work.
    Thanks,
    Jake

What i do wrong? Maybe I reduce my sol 10 u4 sparc instalation too much.
    Can anybody help me?
    Thanks for help,

I experienced the same problem on my system Sol 10 08/07.
Normally, when the zone enters the READY state during boot, it's zoneadmd will run devfsadm -z <zone>. In my understanding this is to create the necessary device files in ZONEPATH/dev.
This worked well until recently. Now only the directories are still created.
It seems as if devfsadm -z is broken. Somebody should issue a call to sun.
As a workaround you can easily copy the device files into the zone. It is important not to copy the symbolic link but the target.
    # cp /dev/lofi/1 ZONEPATH/dev/lofi
    Hope this helps,

  • How to get connect with Apple when you have problem in test device limits?

I have reached my test device limit in August. I have popular app that is very sensitive of being tested super carefully (navigation app for the blind, testers from 20+ countries), so 100 device limit is easily reached. Basically, I can't ship any new versions due to fact that I can't guarantee safety of my users.
I sent first request how to handle this to Apple in August. Since then I have sent at least 3 new requests. 2 times some person has responded suggesting adding 10 new devices or asking me to delete unneeded away and then list gets reseted after 7 days. I answered "yes please do that" and cleaned the list. Still after several months, I have situation that my device list shows "100 of 100 available devices have been registered." and adding new devices is disabled.
I had read that this list can be reseted when I renew my dev membership. I did that one month in advance to see if it helps. It didn't and even when old one expired, it didn't help. Maybe I have missed some step, but for that reason I have tried to reach Apple Support. My two latest contacts to Membeship support has this same information about my problem (of problems getting support) and also short description about original problem.
Have any of you had same kind of problem with Membership Support? When I have contacted Developer support, I have got excellent service.
How should I continue? Start trying to make phone calls instead of using official contact forms?

Your problem _is_ the device limit...you repeated your issue, so I'll repeat the quote from Apple:
Although you may remove a device from your account, it will continue to count against your 100 device limit.
Please confirm you understand the process now, thanks.

  • A problem with PoE devices in the Topology view (LMS 3.1)

    Hello,
the customer has a problem with PoE devices in the Topology View. :-( He doesn't see the 2960 PoE devices with the PoE filter enabled in the topology view:-( He uses LMS 3.1 on Windows.
In the NetPro discussion I found that the list of PoE devices is in the following file:
    POECapableDeviceTypes.properties
but I cann't to find thid file in the campus directory. In the campus folder are following folders: bin, etc, lib and www.
    Thank you
    Roman

    The file is in NMSROOT/campus/www/classpath/com/cisco/nm/ani/clients/campus/main/filters/POECapableDeviceTypes.properties.

  • I buy new ipad but the garranty in my country don't support it,, and now i have a problem in the device,,, what is the solution?

i buy new ipad but the garranty in my country don't support it,, and now i have a problem in the device,,, what is the solution?

Take it yourself or send it to friend in country where guarantee supports it.
Do not try to ship it to Apple - they will not accept international
shipments nor will they return it to you.
What is the problem? Maybe someone here can offer some advice to solve
    the problem.

  • FMLE encoding stopped: Problem with capture device. Incorrect samples given by the device.

    Hi Support,
I am trying to use FMLE to encode and stream video from an Axis P1346 IP camera, via Axis' Streaming Assistant software, to a Wowza server.
Everyting appears to be working perfectly and the encoding and resultant stream quality is excellent. Sometimes after a few hours and sometimes after just a few minutes, the encoding will stop with the following error:
    Tue Mar 26 2013 11:47:18 : Session Stopped
Tue Mar 26 2013 11:47:18 : Problem with capture device. Incorrect samples given by the device. Stopping encoding session.
I have attached a recent log of a session that only lasted a few minutes - do you have any ideas on how to resolve this instability?
