Migrating NetBeans App to JDeveloper Exceptions

Hi All,
I am migrating a desktop application developed in Net Beans to Oracle Jdeveloper 11g R2. I am following a very nice video from the following link:
http://download.oracle.com/otn_hosted_doc/jdeveloper/11gdemos/NBtoJDevProject/NBtoJDevProject.html
When I am trying tho compile the code, it is not able to fine .jar file containing the org.netbeans.lib.awtextra.* classes, hence unable to build the project successfully.
I also tried searching Google for some relevant help, but in vein.
Can anyone please help me where to get the relevant jar file org.netbeans.lib.awtextra.* classes.
Any help will be highly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
Bilal

Looks like your porject is using a specific netbeans library - you'll need to find the JAR file that contains this class and add it to your project properties->libraries and classpath.

It's due to recon issue. OIM has many recon processes. One such process is LDAP-OIM sync job that runs behind the scene.
It may be an issue with the 'trigger table value' which recon job depends. If 'trigger table value' is not set properly, you may get this issue.
    Do this workaround:

  • Trying to debug Worklist app with JDeveloper

We managed to get the worklistapp compiling under JDeveloper. Now, I'd like to debug it.
In order to debug (by running in the OC4J container within JDeveloper), it looks like I have to run the worklistapp as a remote client (specifying REMOTE_CLIENT or SOAP_CLIENT in the BaseServlet's init function). I used REMOTE_CLIENT. I also updated wf_client_config.xml and included the ORACLE_HOME/bpel/system/services/config directory in the classpath.
When I try to run the worklist app from JDeveloper, I get a null ptr exception (the line 'wfSvcClient.getAuthorizationService(idCtx);' is returning a null value for the authorization service):

I did start up the user metadata services and runtime config services(I can see all the soap endpoints for the workflow services from a browser). But the worklist app doesn't seem to connect to the remote server. I did update my wf_client_config.xml to point to the remote server on which BPEL is located. And the wf_client_config.xml file is in the classpath.
If I deploy the worklist app on the server with bpel (specifying the parent as 'orabpel', it all works fine). I just can't get it working as a remote client.
So, any suggestions? I've been looking at threads on this forum to get to this point, but now I'm stuck.
    Thanks,
    Sachin

I thought I'd ping this thread to see if anyone has been able to debug the Worklist application with JDeveloper. We are trying to customize the worklist application, and being able to use JDeveloper to debug would greatly help out.
However, I have still been unable to get the worklist application to be able to connect to the workflow services remotely via the SOAP_CLIENT:
    wfSvcClient = WorkflowServiceClientFactory.getWorkflowServiceClient(
    WorkflowServiceClientFactory.SOAP_CLIENT);
I've played around with the classpath to make sure I have all the jars (based on other similar threads in this forum), but have not had any luck yet.
From a web browser, I can specify the SOAP endpoint to the Workflow services, and am able to call the service in the browser.
I updated my wf_client_config.xml file to point to the endpoints. e.g:
    <taskQueryService>
    <soapEndPoint>http://myserver:8888/integration/services/TaskQueryService/TaskQueryService</soapEndPoint>
    </taskQueryService>
    Thanks for any help,
    Sachin

  • Migrating iLife apps from new iMac to G5 machine with Leopard

I bought the iMac which came with iLife and then built up a dual proc G5 to do music and video on. I don't want to have to buy a copy of iLife since I already have it but really want Garage Band, Movie Maker and iDVD on the G5. I started to migrate these with Migration Assistant but it didn't give me an option to choose just those apps. Is there a problem with me migrating all apps and then just deleting the ones I don't need on the G5? I assumed this would move the licenses for the apps from the iMac to the G5. Can someone confirm if the Migration effectively uninstalls the app on the machine it's being migrated from?
I'm not interested in making a copy of these three apps and am happy to delete them from iMac once moved over but it's not clear to me that this will work (even thought guys as the Apple store said I could do it).
    Thanks

The short answer is probably no.
I have 2 imacs both Intel.
I was having a problem with iLife apps on my older imac and so I dumped the iLife apps to reinstall them.
I inserted the install disk for my newer imac and it refused to allow me to install from that disk.
I used Pacifist and it worked for all apps except iPhoto which would not work properly even after several attempts.
I located my iLife 08 disk and it installed fine.
Despite the fact that most of the iLife apps seemed to install using Pacifist, they were suspect so I installed them all afresh from the ILife 08 disk.
The last thing I need is a program that may screw up and lose some of my photos, movies or compositions, especially when the package is reasonably priced.

  • Error when attempting to migrate Planning app with LCM

I get this error when I use LCM and try to migrate my app to another environment. Any ideas?
    Cannot retrieve migration status for
    exportArtifact(s). Nested exception is
    [MESSAGE - org.xml.sax.
    SAXParseException: XML document
structures must start and end within
the same entity., LCM METHOD CALL - com.
    hyperion.lcm.handler.TaskHandler.
    updateStatusDocument(Unknown), ROOT
    CAUSE - org.apache.xerces.parsers.
    DOMParser.parse(Unknown)] .

I had faced this problem once when I used an export folder which had given errors during lcm export. I had ignored those errors and apparently syntax of the xml files that were extracted were not parsed successfully by importing lcm. I solved the issue by migrating everything separately (i.e. first forms, then task lists, then menus etc.)
    Cheers,
    Alp

  • Getting app-store-import-exception with FIM-MA Full Imports SQL Timeouts

    Hi,
Any idea whats going on here? Full Import on FIM-MA leads to app-store-import-exception.
Here is a quick profile of the situation:
FIM Sync, FIM Service & FIM Portal all are instaled on the same machine with 24GB RAM hosted as a Virtual Machine.
FIM-MA Full Import leads to app-store-import-exception
Event log reports "Timeout expired.  The timeout period elapsed prior to completion of the operation or the server is not responding"
Here is a screen shot: http://www.freeimagehosting.net/image.php?e5570db7f6.jpg
As you can see, FIM-MA imported close to 118500 objects before timing out.
Here are the things I have tried:
Extended FIM timeout on the services as per
    Darryl's Blog
Provided FIM MA's password as per
    Ahmed's suggestion
Restricted SQL Service Max RAM to 15 GB (Machine has 24GB) as per
    David Lundell's suggestion
Thanks for your help in advance.
    Thanks,

    Simplified Identity and Access Management

That is unusual. I suggest checking for database integrity and peforming index maintenance, on both the FIMService and FIMSync databases.
You could also increase the following timeout (see link below for more settings)
The values in Table 17 are located in the registry key: SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Forefront Identity Manager\2010\Synchronization Service.
    Table 17

    Notes
    ReadTimeOut
    <dword>
    HKLM

The default value is 58, specified in seconds.

  • Migrate essbase app from 6 to 9

planning to migrate the app from essbase 6 to esbase 9.to a whole new server.
Any issues with that...any doc on migration from 6 would be useful.
    its urgent

I started to migrate from 6.6 to 9.3.1 and it went quite smooth. What I have done:
    Installed the server.
Used the config tool and removed shared services registration.
    Copied essbase.cfg to new installation.
Had to add the env variables manually on AIX from the hyperionenv.doc.
    Installed the eas server.
Used config tool for config and deployment of eas on std settings.
Installed the eas client and used the migration tool to migrate some databases to the new server from a 6.6 (6.6 running on different machine than 9.3)
Tested our batch processing for data load, security transfers, data staging etc. which uses some api interfaces and ESSCMD and maxl scripts. All without any problems. All settings were kept the same as on the old systems (essbase.cfg, db settings, app settings).

  • Migrate Oracle Apps Forms to J2EE

    Hi,
I need to migrate Oracle Apps(11i) Forms to J2EE.
I went through Oracle Partners who provide these migration tools but none provides trial version to test/use.
    How do I migrate forms.
Or is there any way so that I can replace forms with my custom screens?
    Need your help.

Its probably too long an answer to write here but I always like to start with the WHY?
The one thing that is fact is that this will cost you considerable time and effort so you have to be very clear on your reasons. Furthermore, there is no "magic bullet". There is no tool or solution that can "with one click" migrate your application - unless your application is Emp/Dept of course ;o)
You also have to seriously consider the need (infact I would say REQUIREMENT) that any migration MUST rearchitect. A Forms app and a J2EE app are very different, if you don't re-architect then you are re-implementing Forms in Java (in which case, why bother).
If you go to http://otn.oracle.com/goto/formsmodernize there is information that we in Oracle see as the most likely approach to succeed - which is retain an investment in Forms while you build up skills/services/functionality in your new system
I'd suggest spending a couple of hours reading this information and then if you have further questions you can come back to us.

Ive migrated my apps from an old mac to my new mac. When i try to open my CS5 programs it get a pop up that says i need to install the legacy java SE 6. Ive done that and it still does not open?

I'm having a similar problem...but mine results from an OS upgrade from 10.6.4 to 10.8.5.
Where did you access a clean copy of Java SE 6?  The link at adobe for archicval plug-ins is a dead download (and it doesn't appear to contain Java SE 6.).

  • Migrating Developer Forms to JDeveloper

I was given to understand that using the Wizard available in JDeveloper, one can migrate Developer Forms to JDeveloper.
Is this possible?. If so and anyone has done it, please let me know how to proceed.
    Thanks

Meanwhile, our FormsWizard has matured to a tightly integrated
    plug-in to JDeveloper.
The Wizard allows you to transform your fmb/mmb files to Java-
based applications. Apart from the data model, which is indeed
transformed to BC4J components, the Wizard also translates the
    GUI to a Swing-based application or a JSP front-end.
PL/SQL code is also translated, although there are certain
    limitations.
You may want to take a look at

  • Migrating WebServices app from Tomcat to Glassfish...

    Hello!
I've a WebService app. which now runs on Tomcat 5.5.23 and was written using JAX-WS. I've install Sun Java System App. Server 9.0 and I intend to migrate our app. here.
The application is delivered as a war file which I've already deployed in glassfish using admin GUI of asadmin. I can see our app. at WebApplications section but I can't see it under WebServices section, although it seems at a first view that the application works and respond to client's request.
I'd like to ask you if I need to use a special tool for migrating our aplication or what I did is enough and there is no need for other changes.
    Thank you very much
    With best regards,
    Sorin

If I understand correctly, you are trying to load a few properties files on WLS that is specific to an application that you are migrating from tomcat to WLS. If that is the case, then as per my understanding we have the following options:
    a. Add all the properties in a jar file and add the same to the classpath or place the same in the lib directory of the server which can be picked at the server start-up.
    b. Place the properties file in the domain home which should help.
Refer: loading a new properties file without restarting the managed server
    c. Else place the properties files in the web-inf of the application, that should help.

  • Migrate SOME apps but not all?

Is it possible to use migration assist to migrate SOME Apps but not all of them? If so, how?

No. Migration Assistant will transfer the entire folder but you cannot selectively transfer individual applications. However, you can simply copy items from the Applications folder to the other computer via Target Disk Mode without the use of MA. Although this will work just fine it will not automatically include any other associated files needed by the applications transferred such as Applications Support files, preference files, or other installed files. Therefore, it would be better to simply reinstall the individual applications or transfer all of them, then delete what you don't want.

  • Migration 9i App Server R1 (1.0.2.2.1) to 10g App Server R2 (10.1.2.0.2)

    Hi All,
I am new to Oracle application server. I am now studying for a case of migration from 9i App Server R1 (1.0.2.2.1) to 10g App Server R2 (10.1.2.0.2), it is a new box migration where the new app server is 10gR2. The 9i app server is enterprise edition and currently uses oracle forms and reports services.
The database underneath is Oracle as well(9i) which is also doing a migration to new box and new version(10gR2).
I can handle the db migration part, but I am not sure what approach I can take to migrate the app server.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance.

Actually there is no need for export of forms and reports as the 10g compiler will do the conversion. However, depending on the codes, and properties used in the forms and report source codes, there may be some changes required to make them 10g compatible.
In an ideal situation, all you would have to do is take your existing forms and recompile using the 10g forms and reports compilers and that's it. However, it never works out so easily as there are a number of incompatibilities and some built-ins that are dropped.
Warning: Once you have recompiled the forms in 10g, the forms will no longer be compatible with the previous version.
In most cases the biggest time sink in the migration is identifying and correcting all the incompatibilities with a combination of scanning the forms and report source codes with a 3rd party tool like Formstool and manual eyeball checking.
