Migration issues we are facing with Weblogic 10.3

Hi All,
We are migrating an enterprise application deployed in Weblogic 6.1 server to Weblogic 10.3 version.
All the EJBs are migrated to EJB 3.0 from EJB 2.0. When deploying the application, we were getting weblogic.utils.AssertionError detailing Class not found for an auto generated Skel class.
We created the auto generated class by calling wlappc task and bundled the same with the EJB jar. Now we are getting ClassFormatError. Please refer to the trace below.

Does anybody suspect that the problem might be with the JRockit 1.6 (class size) that is bundled with Weblogic server 10.3?

Thanks for the reply.
I am afraid that I may not be able to paste the code here, since the implementation bean class more than 7000 lines in length.
We have refactored the code and introduced a delegator layer and now it seems to be working fine. I believe the issue was with the code size as it was mentioned in one of the older post related to 10.1 version.

Some minor issues we are facing in converting the 6i application to 10g ,

Regarding 10g froms i need support in resolving following issues:-
1. Direct print to default printer
In some of our applications user do not want to see the print preview and prefer direct print in 6i we were doing this by defining Desitination in report paramenters
2. Open each form in new window
We open each new form using OPEN_FORM() builtin, but all forms open in same MDI window, how using open form we can open the forms in new window
3. Maintaining source code in windows and linux
Initaially our developers test the forms under windows 10g AS environment but when the same form in uploaded on Linux machine they need to make some changes like " replacing all \ with /, converting all paths to lower case etc
how we can write the same code for linux and windows
These are some minor issues we are facing in converting the 6i application to 10g environment ...

1) We don't do direct printing. We print everything to PDF files in a user's network mapped drive. They print or preview as required.
2) We overcame this problem by using Java WebStart

It frees Forms from being browser based and looks more like a 'real' application.
3) We use FormsAPI Master [Link to ORCL-Toolbox|http://www.orcl-toolbox.com/] to automatically convert from Windows to Unix. Our script converts uppercase to lowercase for icons, menus, library attachments, etc. We only do this once - unless new libraries have been attached in the wrong case. For things like '\' to '/' , Windows is quite happy to accept '/' as a delimiter. "cd C:\temp" is the same as "cd c:/temp". However, there are obvious differences between Windows and Unix. If there is any interaction between the Form and the operating system, then we do all our testing in the Unix environment - leaving Windows as a "does the screen layout look OK" environment.

Windows to Mac DHCP Migration Issues

We are migrating our DHCP and DNS services from a Windows server to an XServe. We have started the process and noticed that Server Admin does not provide a place in the DHCP service to put in a range of IP addresses to be excluded from being handed out. It only lets you do it on a individual computer basis. The problem is that we have over a hundred devices on our network with static IPs right in the middle of the IP range set for DHCP. (I inherited this design) Eg:
Complete DHCP Range: 192.168.180.1 - 192.168.181.254
Static IP Ranges: 192.168.181.1 - 192.168.181.100, 192.168.181.200-229, 250-254 etc
The DHCP service on our Windows DC has a place to put in multiple ranges that can be excluded from DHCP so it is easy to define the complete range of our network and exclude ranges used for static IPs. I just don't see how to do this in OS 10.6. If it is not there on purpose then what is the logic behind this?
The other issue we are having with DHCP is that the DORA exchange for client computers is taking almost 2 minutes to complete. Is this normal for DHCP in OS 10.6? I can take the same client laptop, pull out the ethernet cable and plug it into the existing Windows network and get an IP address in 45 seconds. We did this test with multiple new computers and they all took the same amount of time. There are no errors in the DHCP log.
Any perspective for either issue would be greatly appreciated.

this may not be directly helpful, but i have two related questions.
if you've inherited these ranges, is there anything particular preventing you from changing them to make your life easier?
if you're swapping these services to os x server, why, and would this be a good opportunity to change the ranges?
in any of my clients' networks 45 seconds to get an address would be atypically long. there must be something else going on to cause such delays.
what's the impetus to move dhcp and dns away from windows servers, especially if the services are working well enough?
i wouldn't necessarily recommend using os x server just for these services. any linux distro with dhcpd and bind will do just fine and probably be a better investment.

Issue in BAPI- BAPI_PBSRVAPS_GETDETAIL2 with custom default macro in SNP

SP Pack: 13
SNP PA1- No Time series Key figures, only order series
SNP PA3: With time series KF, which also included dynamic safety stock time series KFs
We have created custom macro ZGSCM_SAFETY_STOCK copy
of /SAPAPO/SAFETY_CALC where we used BAPI- BAPI_PBSRVAPS_GETDETAIL2 to
get the dynamic safety stock values from PA3(Planning area3-Planning book3) to PA1(Planning area1-Planning book1). We are getting two issues while doing this as below:
1) Issue we are facing is that when it goes to PA3, it actually save
PA3 planning book for that user as a active planning book and return
back with PA3-planning book. So to avoid this, we call same BAPI again
where we are just calling PA1 planning book without any selection and It works fine and returns
the safety stock values correctly. But now when we load multiple items and
doing the drill down then we are getting an error message saying:
Error reading planning objects (No SNP master data table found)
Error reading data - Planning book cannot be processed further
Do we have any other way to set the active session for user after BAPI call with in the program?
2) Also it always call default macros when BAPI calls which we don't
want, Is there any way we can avoid calling default macros while calling BAPI-BAPI_PBSRVAPS_GETDETAIL2

Hi,
The first issue which you faced is becasue of the BAPI which tries to access all the Key Figurs of the data view from which you need to copy data. These KF might be used in different Macros & those macro's might be running for different periodicities.
You can create separate data view the the same planning book & assign the KF to the newly created data view. Most probably, this will solve your problem & you wont get any error message.
Incase the error message pops up, you need to create diffent planning book or planning area (based on your previous PA) & then try. This will definately solve problem which u had faced.

Try the following in order afresh-
1.Put the xerces.jar file before the weblogic.jar in the system classpath.This variable is set, by default, in the WL_HOME/server/bin/startWLS.cmd script where WL_HOME refers to the top-level directory of the WebLogic Platform.
2.Configure your XML Registry to use the org.apache.xerces.jaxp for the DocumentBuilderFactory or SAXParserFactory factories.For details,you can refer http://e-docs.bea.com/wls/docs70/xml/xml_admin.html <https://gateway-us.wipro.com/wls/docs70/xml/xml_admin.html,DanaInfo=e-docs.bea.com+>.
Now restart the server and deploy your application again.I hope this will work .

If anyone is reading this still looking for what caused the issue and how to fix it here is what I discovered.
The antivirus program our company uses, Bitdefender Antivirus Plus, was causing some of the PDF files not to open. After troubleshooting the different modules and settings the culprit was..
Scan SSL in Privacy Control Settings. Turning it OFF solved the problem and all the PDF files that previously would not open now open just fine. This issue has been sent to Bitdefender for them to review. If you use a different antivirus program and are having this issue try locating the Scan SSL setting and see if turning it off solves the problem.

Issue with Weblogic 12c(12.1.2)

My service is working as expected in weblogic 11g.Now we are upgrading to weblogic 12c.
We are facing an issue of "NullPointerException" , due to the values, not getting populated during server startup from ra.xml.
In weblogic 11g the control is not going to that location, which is leading to an exception in Web logic 12c(NPE).
If we validate the null values, control is invoking twice, one with null values and another time with actual values from ra.xml.
Please help me on the same.

Workaround
Add square brackets to the host address. For example:
t3://[fe80:0:0:0:203:baff:fe2f:59e5]:9991.
But i dont know in which file these hosts contains.

The issue seems to be with "XAPrepared Statement Cache Size" property. Initially it was set to 5. When transactions are performed the database shows the count of open cursor to 300 which is the limit of open cursors set as database init params.
When we set cache size to zero, the issue disappears and the cursor count is around 45. Even if the statement cahe size is set to 1, after some transactions max open cursor exceeded exception arises.
Can som one elaborate the behavior of this property or the issue which underlies this.
Any help would be greatly appreciated

We are facing an issue in our COE SAP ECC 6.0 instance. The sequence of steps performed is as given below
1. Start Vendor Creation using Create Vendor: Initial Screen
2. Create Vendor : Address
3. Create Vendor : Control
4. Create Vendor: Payment Transactions
5. Create Vendor: Accounting Information Accounting
6. Create Vendor: Payment Transactions Accounting
7. Create Vendor: Correspondence Accounting
After the above steps are performed the system displays a message Vendor <V No.> was created in company code 1000
If we try to use the above created Vendor in F-90 or FK02 ( Change Vendor details TCode) it throws an error as "Vendor has not been created".
The table LFB1 doesnt have the Vendor associated with the Company Id 1000.
Query: But does anyone WHY the Table is not being updated and WHAT needs to be done to make sure Updation happens in future.

Issue with Weblogic services in Linux OBIEE 11G

Hello All,
I have a OBI 11G set up on a linux OS.I am facing a issue with weblogic service.
Whenever I am trying to start the Admin server from command line using its .sh , it is starting successfully.
But whenever I am closing that Linux session or coming out of the Admin server log , this service is getting stopped on its own.
OBI is working perfectly when that Linux session and Admin server log is intact, but as soon as i close either of them Admin server shut itself down.
Please any help on this will be appreciated.

My Jsp Page is using ISO-8859-1 charset. please look at the snapshot from jsp page.

I have debug the application and came to know that this data (£ sign) is converted to ? before being assigned to corresponding property in action class.
this seems to be issue with encoding of characters with weblogic server.
I have also tried to fix this issue by defining the charset in weblogic.xml file in my application as follows but it does'nt solve this issue. please see the snapshot from weblogic.xml file.

You are right here as the pound sign is not included in UTF-8 (did not know that sorry).
Could you try setting the page directive of the JSP to
<%@ page contentType="text/html;charset=ISO-8859-1" language="java" %>or when you are working with jspx
<jsp:root xmlns:jsp="http://java.sun.com/JSP/Page" xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" version="2.0">
<jsp:directive.page contentType="text/html;charset=ISO-8859-1"/>
</jsp:root>

Double click the home button (square) and all the things you did are there.keep sliding the bar that will come up on the bottom to the left till it cant go anymore there should be a icon looking like this.press that and it should work
