Migration of BDC logs created in 46c to ECC6

Hi SDNers,
After upgrading to ECC6, we realize that BDC logs created in 46c version are not available in ECC6. I would like to know if there is a program to copy these BDC logs from 46c to ECC6 version.
Thanks in advace for your help
Best Regards,
Leo

During upgrade we have used the following program to do this : RSBDCLCH
Result is not exactly the same, the program will convert the old BDC logs to new Temse logs that can be viewed via SP01.
BDC logs are located on a filesystem not in the database.
Prerequisite : You still need to old filesystem from the 46C release.
Hope this can help.

  • Out of stock Sales Order Item to trigger a BDC to create a PO

    Dear ABAPers,
I have a couple of questions:
    1. In the sales order program code, how do you find out if an item being ordered is out of stock? Which tables and fields do you check?
    2. when an item is determined to be out of stock,  we want to trigger a BDC to create a PO. How do you do that?
I know these are big questions. You can give me either an overview or detail solution, it's up to you.
    Thanks!

    Hi,
Assuming all the basic settings are configured
Step1: Run T Code VA01 and input the u201Cdocument typeu201D as OR along with your sales area. Then enter your business partner number along with the material number and quantity. Save the order.
Step2: T Code VA03 input the order number which you have created. Select the line item and (menu bar) Goto u2013 Items u2013 Schedule lines. You will find the u201Cpurchase requisitionu201D for that item just copy the number.
Note: If you unable to see the u201Cpurchase requ201D in the sales order then make sure you need to change the Item category group of a material in MM02 as BANC in Sales: sales org 2 tab.
Step3: Run T Code ME21N under the item paste the u201Cpurchase requisitionu201D number generated at sales order level and hit enter that will automatically give all the details, save. You can save the Purchase order.
This scenario will only help to create purchase order until I know why you want to create a purchase order I canu2019t proceed further.

  • Want to get log created in SM35 into report

Here I am using RSBDCSUB report to process session created in SM35. For that I am using submit command.
       SUBMIT RSBDCSUB WITH SELECTION-TABLE T_SELTAB
EXPORTING LIST TO MEMORY AND RETURN.
After this I am using 'LIST_FROM_MEMORY' and u2018LIST_TO_ASCI' Function modules to read the output of RSBDCSUB and to print it in my report.
but i want to print log created in SM35 in my report.
how can i get that log in report????????????????
    regards,
    snehal

    Guys:
There's an easy way....when you are in a log file.....go to the command box and type in the following command:
    =PRI
This is stating, "print out the log to my screen".  Once it goes into the mode of a report....you can Export the report to any type file (Uncoverted, Excel, Word, etc.)
List > Export > Local file
    Cheers, Al

  • Is log created when connecting to RFC?

When we are connecting to RFC, is there any log created for that particular RFC, and if created, then how we can find that?
    Thanks and Regards,

    Hi,
    Check SM58.

  • Upgrade from 46c to ECC6.0 : Java or Java-AddIn ?

    Hello
Can you explain me what is the difference between Java and Java-AddIn as proposed in evaluation phsae of an upgrade from 46c to ECC6.0?
    Thank You.

    Hi Alain,
But if we implement a JavaAddin solution today, do you think it will be possible to create a Java instance later to create a Portal solution ?
If you implement a java addin today then you can use later for portal solution.

  • Moving/Transporting programs from 46c to ECC6

    Guys,
For our upgrade we will start with a ECC6 system from scratch.  The questions are - is there a tool to transport ABAP programs/functions from 46C to ECC6?  Or in your experience it is better to manually do a download from 46C then manually upload to ECC6?
    Thanks for your input.
    Yan Guan.

    Hi Yan,
If you are upgrading an existing 46C system to ECC 6.0 then the Z and Y programs  in the system will be there even after your upgrade.
We will start with a brand new ECC system from scratch
means you are creating a system for the first time as ECC 6.0 ?. Then if there is transport path between your 46C sytem and ECC 6.0 sytem, you can transport the objects. Otherwise go for download/upload option. But I think creating a transport path is the better option.

  • Hyperion Planning migration error while refreshing/creating Essbase cube

    Hi,
I'm migrating a Hyperion Planning application (11.1.1.4) to a complete other environment (due to the split of the companies). I have read most post on otn, but unfortunately nothing that helped me to solve the issue, yet... I hope someone can help me. Thanks in advance!
I have executed the following steps:
    1. Create a new Oracle database
    2. Create a datasource to the Oracle database and to Essbase (both tested succesfully)
    3. Create a fresh planning application (I have used a native Admin account and not the original owner)
    4. Go into the database tables for the planning app and look at table HSP_USERS, store the SID value against user 50001
    5. Go into the database planning system tables and HSPSYS_APPLICATION, clear out the version field for the application you have created - I did not do this since I could not delete this value. null is not accepted.
    6. Stop Planning
    7. Restore the planning application database over the one created in the first step (I had to drop the existing tables first)
    8. Go into the HSP_USERS table and update the SID for user id 50001
    9. Start planning
    10. Log on to planning and I did see the webforms, etc as expected.
    11. Now, when I try to refresh the database, I receive an error:
    Cube refresh/create in progress
    Status failed
    Step 4 Adding dimensions
    java.lang.NoSuchMethodError: getAttributeType
Does anyone has an idea? Hope someone can help me since the deadline is getting closer and closer.
    Thanks!
    Kind Regards
    Martin

    Hi John,
    Thanks for your reply.
I have exactly done what you have described. I droped the schema and recreated it with an impdp to import.
But, in the meantime I have been investigating the dimensions and there's indeed something very wrong. Some dimensions have been mixed up. In the 'old' environment I have 10 stored dimensions and 4 attribute dimensions (as well as in EAS as in Planning, offcourse as you expect). In the 'new' environment, two stored dimensions have been mixed up with two attribute dimensions.... How is that possible?
I have never seen that. Could this be caused by the reason that we use a different version of Oracle (11G release 2 vs 10G (10.2.0.4))? Or went something wrong with exporting the schema...? Can you tell me what I can do to investigate this?
    Thanks!
    Kind Regards,
    Martin

  • BDC Log in SM35 : Screen is not required.

    Dear all,
I am facing an issue in uploading data in infotypes through BDC in HR module. Infogroup is maintained for each action. In this multiple infotypes are getting updated. The BDC is run with background mode.
The BDC program is created for Disciplinary action. In this action infotypes 0, 1, 7, 8, 16, 581, 583, 588, 40, 102, and 545 are getting updated. When the BDC is run, In sm35 transaction, it shows that the session is successfully executed. But when the log is checked it shows message that the screen is not required for infotypes 7 onwards.
In this case only infotype 0 and 1 is getting updated whrere as others are not getting updated.
When this BDC is run in the foreground it works properly. The data is updated successfully. Can somebody tell me what could be the problem?
    Regards,
    Sachin Mahajan.

    Hi,
The problem is solved. The problem was with the infogroup. It was changes and hence was not working.
    Thanks all.

    Dear All,
I have written BDC for tcode - J1is but it is not creating official excise documents when i upload the data with BDC. But when we do manually it is creating official excise documents perfectly.
Internal documents are generated both the cases.
BDC is perfectly running and processes the data.
    Please suggest.

  • Migrating from non-logging Informix to Oracle (use of transactions)

I wonder what happens when I migrate an Informix non-logging database to Oracle. Since my database doesn't use transaction (that's to say: a single DML sentence defines a transaction and transactions using begin/commit/rolback trans are not used), applications are written with no transaction philosophy. But Oracle is ANSI-compliant and then when I execute a DML sentence, a transaction begin and it'll finish until I send commit or logout. Then, even when migration is ok, my applications will create very large transactions.
What should I do? Is there some parameter to configure Oracle in such way it create single-DML transaction (I heard there's something like that in SQL*Plus, but I'm not sure)? Or should I rewrite applications sending commits after every sentence (The worst case, I think)?
    Thanks in advance
    Omar Muqoz

    Hi Oscar,
Without actually viewing the Client application code, I can only make general assumptions..
You will have to change the client code anyway in order for it to work with Oracle e.g. Informix E/SQL -> Oracle Pro*C. The E/SQL Client code will have to be updated to reflect various changes in the DB environment; for example:
    1. The use of REF CURSORS (passing them back to the client code)
    2. Changes to the hardcoded Informix SQL statements to make them Oracle friendly (especially OUTER joins if you migrating to Oracle 8i)
    3. Altering any E/SQL code that dynamically builds SQL statements (to make sure these SQL statements are syntactically correct in the Oracle model).
    4. DB Connection methodologies.
    5. Changing Informix #include files to reference equivalent Oracle #includes
    6. Differences in date structs and how E/SQL and Pro*C handle dates (Oracle did not support milliseconds until 9i)
    7. Exception handling.
    8. Datatype changes between Informix and Oracle.
Again, there is no simple solution. A migration project that migrated the DB and Applications 'in tandem' would make it easier to remove logic from the client code and place it in the server (always a good thing) but this may not be feasable in your case.

if VBKD-BSTKD_E = 3011192 is like 4 records in excel means for these 4 should be one SO

    HI,
Instead of using BDC , why dont you make use of BAPI.
As you are on ECC, you can make use of BAPI BAPI_SALESORDER_CREATEFROMDAT2
Collect all your records based on PO # and pass them into line item table structure ORDER_ITEMS_IN.
    *--Logic something like this.
      loop at it_exceldata into l_line.
      loop at it_exceldata into l_so where bstkd_e eq l_line-bstkd.
*This will loop at all the same  PO#
*collect the data related into corr tables. and append
      endloop.
*Now you are outside the loop.
*Call the BAPI to update this SO
      delete it_exceldata where bstkd_e eq l_line-bstkd_e.
      endloop.
Also pass all the necessary data to header structure ORDER_HEADER_IN
Do not check for Sy-subrc at the end of execution.
Instead read the Return table with message type 'A' or 'E whichi means there is an error/abort in BAPI execution.
Remember to expicitly COMMIT_WORK after succesfull execution of BAPI using BAPI_TRANSACTION_COMMIT
Please let me know , if you need more help in this

  • BDC to create purchase requistion

    Hi ,
Can purchase req. be created using BSC?
if yes then how, what are the mandatory fields for BDC recording for purchase requisition?
    Thanks
    Lovleen

You can not create BDC for purchase order creation by T-Code ME21n as it is using ALV for items. But you can use thold transaction ME21 to create purchase order by BDC. But better to use BAPI or functional module.

  • Dreamweaver CC won't launch - Mac OS 10.8.5 - No Crash Logs Created

Dreamweaver CC won't launch at all on my machine anymore.  All the other Adobe CC applications work just fine.
I've uninstalled and reinstalled all my CC applications and done it again for good measure.  I've uninstalled all my fonts and reinstalled the normal Mountain Lion fonts and the fonts installed with the Adobe CC apps.
Creative Cloud desktop is installed. It has update Dreamweaver to version 13.0.0.6391.  I'm aware that there is a version 13.1 out there, but Creative Cloud tells me I'm up-to-date and I have no more requests.
When launching Dreamweaver, It bounces in my dock for a brief second, then disappears.  No crash log is created. The Console app shows the following entry after a number of attempts to launch Dreamweaver:

I have various Adobe related logs in my Console I could pass along if you'd like:
    ACC.log
    LogTransport2
    DLM.log
    DLM_native.log
    LBS.log
    Adobe CSXS Extensions 4 4.0.2 09-23-2013.log
    Adobe CSXS Infrastructure 4 Driver 4 09-23-2013.log
    Adobe Dreamweaver CC 13 09-23-2013.log

I just faced the same situation and solved it that way:
    - find this folder in the finder:
    Macintosh HD/ User / Library / Application Support / Macromedia / Dreamweaver /Configuration
    - rename the "Configuration" folder to "ConfigurationOld"
It worked for me.... I hope it'll help you
