Migration of credentials in OBIEE11g

Hi All,
I am new to 11g and have migrated identity stores,policy stores successfully from tst to prd.
When I am migrating credentials store its throwing errors.
Please correct me if my steps for migrating the credentials from tst to prd are ok or not.
1)I have created two folders tst and prd in prd which holds the holds the cwallet.sso file from tst and prd respectively.
2)I have edited the jps-config_cred file and mentioned the file path

Now after running its showing "Command failed Reason JPS-00096 No service instance defined for credential.file.source"
Please help me to find where I am going wrong...Thanks

APPWORKSPACEDIR is the directory your *.jws file resides in, so it the main application folder.

Jdev11+WLS 10.3 production+anonymous role

Hi,
I have a very simple application: there is 2 public pages (View permission associated with the anonymous-role), and a bounded task flow that is protected (View perm. associated with authenticated role). These are the 2 roles what I have, I haven't touched anything else after running the ADF security wizard (with no automatic grants option). Running the application from the JDEV 11 IDE (build 5188) everything works fine: I can visit the public pages without authentication, and it asks about the credentials before viewing the protected pages. After the deployment (deploy the app. from EAR, using the HTTP admin console of the WLS) when I want to visit a public page it asks about the credentials. Do I have to migrate the credentials/policies like described here even if I have only the default roles, or what I've made wrong?

You should definitely try to migrate the security policies, I think it should work then. However, when we did the policy migration according to instructions from that same link, we had to manually copy the application roles definitions to system-jazn-data.xml, and then it worked.

Exchange 2007 to 2013 Migration issues. Prompt for credentials, Public Folders inaccessible, Apps not working

I have three issues and decided to list them here. Please pick and choose to assist. Thanks in advance.
Environment:
Mixed 2007 SP3 R12 and 2013 CU3. 2007 Environment was webmail.domain.com. I installed new Exchange 2013 (1 CAS, 1 Mailbox) according to:

I have migrated 1 user so far to Exchange 2013. This user was a Domain Admin. I have removed that membership. I checked the box to inherit permissions of the security of the object and reset the AdminCount attribute in ADSIedit to 0 and verified this replicated
to all domain controllers. ( I originally thought this to be the issue with it prompting for the password. )

ISSUE 1
Issue: On Machine 1 (reference above) Windows Security prompt that says "Connecting to
[email protected]". Almost always prompts when Outlook is first opened. Afterwards (if it goes away) seemingly random on when it asks for it. I put in the credentials (absolutely correct) and it fails and prompts again.
I always check the box for it to save the password. To get rid of it, I click the Cancel button at which Outlook reports "NEED PASSWORD", but still acts fine sending and receiving emails. Eventually the "NEED PASSWORD" sometimes changes
to say "CONNECTED", but it works regardless.
No issues on Machine 2 so I don't know where the problem might be as there are a lot of variables in play here.
ISSUE 2
Migrated user is unable to open Public folders from Exchange 2007.
Cannot expan the folder. Microsoft Exchange is not available. Either there are network problems or the Exchange server is down for maintenance. (/o=...).
This error occurs on Machine 1, Machine 2 and from OWA, same error each time.
ISSUE 3
Apps. Installed by default are 4 apps (Bing Maps, Suggested Meetings, Unsubscribe, Action Items). I have made sure the apps are enabled in OWA and they show up in mail items on both Machine 1 (Outlook 2013) and OWA. They do not show up in Machine 2 (Outlook
2010). I'm assuming that isn't supported.
In OWA, when I go to the installed apps listing it shows all of the apps but has a broken link on the image describing the app.
When I click the app in either Outlook 2013 or in OWA, I get "APP ERROR, Sorry we can't load the app. Please make sure you have network and/or internet connectivity. Click "Retry" once you're back online.
Current workaround is just disabling them through OWA.

In order to avoid confusion, we troubleshoot a issue per thread usually.
For your first isue, I agree with Ed's suggestion to check if your certificate name is correct.
Besides, I recommend you change ExternalClientAuthenticationMethod from Basic authentication to Negotiate authentication to check the result.

Public Folders credentials prompt after migration to 2013

As part of our migration from 2010 to 2013, we have just moved our public folders across to 2013. In doing this, some, but not all, Outlook Clients are asking for credentials to access the public folders everytime Outlook opens. Looking at the connection
status in outlook while the prompt is open, it is already saying the connection is established. The client still says connected even when cancelling the prompt. This is driving users mad. Our exchange is external to the LAN domain, and have checked the OutlookAnywhere External
Authentication method are set to NTLM. I have created new outlook profiles, cleared windows credential manager on clients, used domain\username as well as UPN, and checked the autodiscover address is correct, all to no avail. The affected clients already
have http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2817371 applied to them.
I am really not sure where to go next. Any help is much appreciated.

For the credential issue, I recommend the following troubleshooting:
1. Check if the property Logon network security for the problematic user is set to Anonymous Authentication:
File>account settings> more settings>security

Migrate from Google Apps to Office 365 with admin credentials only

Hi team,
We are migrating from Google Apps to Office 365. I know the normal procedure of migrating, but I want to know how to migrate from gmail to office 365 with administrator credentials. Normally for migration, we use user's mail ID and password in CSV file.
But I don't want to use users credentials, instead I want to use only Administrator credentials.

Exhcnage 2013 Migration - User keep keeping prompted for credentials

Hello,
I am migrating all on-premise exchange 2010 SP3 to Exchange 2013 SP1. I am testing mailbox migrations, each mailbox that gets moved to 2013 the user keeps getting prompted for credentials. I have read several posts in the forums yet none which solve my problem.
Can someone point me in the right direction. All 2013 setting are currently at default.

Here is the autodiscover test. When I move the mailbox to 2013 its picks up the 2013 URL. In this output mail.myserver.com is the hostname of my 2013 cas.

Invalid scripts for migrating ADF11g app Credentials and Policies to WLS

I following the instructions posted on the OTN to migrate ADF 11g application credential/policies to WLS:

The instructions were written back on Oct 8, 2008, the following things need to be updated for the provided migration scripts "build.xml" & "jps-config.xml" to work properly:
1. The "oracle" directory no longer exists in the <DOMAIN_HOME>/config. The scripts reference this directory for cwallet.sso and system-jazn-data.xml.
For the latest ADF 11g R1 installation, the "fmwconfig" directory is the directory where the credential/policies files are stored.
2. The "build.xml" script copies the following WLST script files from the "<MIDDLEWARE_INSTALLATION_HOME>/modules/oracle.jps_11.1.1/scripts"
> migrateSecurityStore.py
> validate.py
> cmdHelp.py
For the latest ADF 11g R1 installation, the "<MIDDLEWARE_INSTALLATION_HOME>/jdeveloper/modules/oracle.jps_11.1.1/scripts" does not exist any more.
I can find the "migrationSecurityStore.py" under "<MIDDLEWARE_INSTALLATION_HOME>/jdeveloper/modules/oracle.jps_11.1.1/common/wlstscripts" directory.
But I can't find the "validate.py" and "cmdHelp.py" anywhere.
When I modify the build.xml to use "migrationSecurityStore.py" in the new directory, it failed with errors that related to what parameters need to be passed.
I am not familiar with WLST so I am not able to fix the script myself.
Is there a updated version of the build.xml and jps-config.xml that will work for the latest ADF 11g R1 installation ?
Where can I find out how to call "migrationSecurityStore.py" properly to make the migration script work?

Error while executing Report migrated from 6i to 11g

Hello,
We have migrated forms & reports from 6i to 11g.
Most of the reports work fine but we are having issue with very few reports.
Let me explain the issue here:
We have a Form that Runs a report.
The Report has a PLL which loads a C library and calls a C Function. [using ORA_FFI]
The C Function which is called has embedded SQL in it.
The Report Server Engine crashes on encountering the first Executable SQL statement. [A Select or Insert]
Need help to resolve this as we have tried a lot of things and not been successful.

If you just want to execute the report in web, you can do one thing.
Go to Query designer of your relevent system.
Open the Query which you want to execute in Web.
Then in the Query tab(first one) in the drop down list you have the Option 'execute'./ the 5th Icon in the Query designer screen.On clicking this it will open a new window( Internet Explorer) and prompts for your system credentials.
Upon providing them the query start executing if it deosn't have any selections, else selection screen appears.
You can save the link and can use this when ever you want to execute the query.Use it in the BW system environment's Intrenet explorer only.

Admin can not log in after migration Teaming

I did migrate Teaming 1.0.3 (SLES 10 SP2) to Teaming 2.1 (SLES 10 SP 2) on a different server according to information from this web site Novell Documentation
Everything worked with one exception admin account can not log in :(
The rest of the account works, but users are taken from LDAP.

ActiveSync stops working after migrating from Exchange 2007 to Exchange 2013

We have started the migration from Exchange 2007 to Exchange 2013. We've followed best practices and everything is working great except ActiveSync. I've performed Exchange migrations in the past so this is nothing new for me. I've also been referring to
a great guide which has been a big help,

Once a user is migrated from Exchange 2007 to 2013, ActiveSync stops working properly. Email can be pulled to the device (Nokia Lumia 625 running Windows Phone 8) by performing a manual sync. But DirectPush is not working. The strange part is it's not affecting
everyone who's been migrated. Anyone who is still on Exchange 2007 is not affected.
At first I thought it was our wildcard certificate. 99% of our users are running Outlook 2013 on Windows 7 or higher but we do have a few terminal servers still running Outlook 2010. Outlook 2010 was giving us certificate errors. I realized it was the wildcard
certificate. Rather than making changes to the OutlookProvider I simply obtained a new SAN certificate. Although that resolved the issues for Outlook 2010 users, ActiveSync was still a problem.
Rebooting the phones and removing the email account from the user's device and re-adding it didn't resolve the issue either.
Then I performed an iisreset on the CAS server. This didn't help either. I didn't know it at the time, but I was getting closer...
I tried using the cmdlet Test-ActiveSyncConnectivity but it gave me the following error:
WARNING: Test user 'extest_0d9a45b025374' isn't accessible, so this cmdlet won't be able to test Client Access server
connectivity.
Could not find or sign in with user DOMAIN.com\extest_0d9a45b025374. If this task is being run without

I started reviewing how Exchange 2013 proxied information from the CAS to the mailbox server and realized the issue may in fact be on the mailbox server.
I performed an iisreset on the mailbox server and all of a sudden ActiveSync started working again. Awesome!
I can't explain why. The only thing I can assume is when some users were migrated from 2007 to 2013 something wasn't being triggered on the Exchange 2013 side. Resetting IIS resolved the issue. I guess I'll have to do an IIS reset after I perform a batch
of migrations. Disabling ActiveSync and re-enabling it for the affected users didn't help - only the IISRESET resolved the issue.
If anyone has any information as to why this happens, please chime in. Also, if anyone knows why I can't run the Test-ActiveSyncConnectivity cmdlet, I'd appreciate the help.

In Exchange 2013, the Public Folder is changed to Public Folder mailbox instead of Public Folder in Exchange 2007 database.
Due to the changes in how public folders are stored, legacy Exchange mailboxes are unable to access the public folder hierarchy on Exchange 2013 servers. However, user mailboxes on Exchange 2013 servers or Exchange Online can connect to legacy
public folders. Exchange 2013 public folders and legacy public folders can’t exist in your Exchange organization simultaneously. This effectively means that
there’s no coexistence between versions.
For this reason, it’s recommended that prior to migrating your public folders, you should

Migrating SSO to a different server

Hi,
We are using Oracle SSO on Oracle HTTP server.
AS requirement, we need to be moving to a different server with different IP, but out domain names will remain same.
Do we need to re-request the SSO credentials again? Or simply performing the steps (cleartext, and apobfuscate) again on the new server with the old details will get this going?
Please help.

Yes, using dsmig is a supported method of migrating schema. However, dsmig requires local disk access to both the old instance and the new instace. Often times during migrations the new DS instance is on a new or different piece of hardware. In those cases to use dsmig you would have to either tar up the old instance, copy and un-tar it somewhere on the new system or, I suppose, you could set up a temporary NFS mount to the old system. I find either of these to be more work than is necessary. I almost always resort to a manual migration process as I know I am in control of everything being migrated. Sun does support the manual method as well and it is documented at:

IMac CPU3.06 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 8GB, Extremely slow and repeatedly "out of Memory" since migration from Mountain Lion to Mavericks

Dear Apple Support Community.
As mentioned by a number of users reporting the same problem, my 2009 iMac CPU3.06 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 8GB RAM, has become extremely slow and repeatedly "out of Memory" since it was migrated from Mountain Lion to Mavericks (OS 10.9 then OS 10.9.1).
I have already run CleanMyMac, deleted 5GB of useless stuffs, which did not translate into any improvement. Following the advices collected in other Apple Support Community threads, I have applied EtreCheck the outcome of which is provided below.
For information, I have also upgraded my 2011 MacBook CPU2.3 GHz Core i7, 8GB which became only a bit slower than before, sometimes freezing which it almost never did before. However, I am used to the fact that Mac get usually slower and more prompt fo freeze after upgrading to a more recent OS.
Both my 2009 iMac and my 2011 MacBook have F-Secure installed. So the problem with the 2009 IMac is unlikly to be due to the presence of F-Secure. Interestingly, the few abnormalities found by Etrecheck were exacly identical before I ran CleanMyMac. There are two more findings (mentioned below) since I ran CleanMyMac on the 2009 iMac, which again didn't improve the problem.
So please find below the details of the EtreCheck experience and some additional measurements made with iStat while running EtreCheck:

Practically:
The iMac can work slowly with only one software e.g. either Mail or Safari or Firefox, but still the below "out of Memory" message occurs about every 3 minutes.
Aperture has becomre to slow to be useable
If trying to write a mail (with Mail) while Safari or Firefox is open, then the "out of Memory" message occurs about every 20 seconds so I need to check on "Resume" several times per minute.
Conclusions
From the above, unless anyone in the Apple Support Community proves to be able to identify a specific problem leading to a way to find a cure, I tend to conclude that Mavericks is not suitable for computers operating with a Core 2 Duo CPU even with a 8GB of RAM.
Unless I missed something, I did not see any warning from Apple Computer Inc. informing their customers they should refrain from upgrading Core 2 Duo Computers.
The only solution I see so far is to downgrade from Mavericks to Mountain Lion. And the Apple Support Community would confirm that it is the only solution, I would appreciate to get your guidance on how to proceed.
Intended action plan
Migrate the above 2009 iMac to a 2014 Mac Mini Server operating on Mavericks to ensure that no data may be lost while downgrading to Montain Lion.
Provided the above downgrading operation is successful, assign this 2009 iMac to partial retirement e.g. Mail, Skype, iTunes and DVD player.
In advance, I would like to thank the Apple Community for helping me either i) finding a cure to the problem, ii) or confirming that Mavericks cannot operate properly on Core 2 Duo computers, iii) and in such a case, guiding me on how to downgrade to Mountain Lion.

Use what is already included with OS X. It already includes everything it needs to protect itself from viruses and malware. Keep it that way with software updates from Apple.
A much better question is "how should I protect my Mac":
Never install any product that claims to "speed up", "clean up", "optimize", or "accelerate" your Mac. Without exception, they will do the opposite.
Never install pirated or "cracked" software, software obtained from dubious websites, or other questionable sources. Illegally obtained software is almost certain to contain malware.
Don’t supply your password in response to a popup window requesting it, unless you know what it is and the reason your credentials are required.
Don’t open email attachments from email addresses that you do not recognize, or click links contained in an email:
Most of these are scams that direct you to fraudulent sites that attempt to convince you to disclose personal information.
Such "phishing" attempts are the 21st century equivalent of a social exploit that has existed since the dawn of civilization. Don’t fall for it.
Apple will never ask you to reveal personal information in an email. If you receive an unexpected email from Apple saying your account will be closed unless you take immediate action, just ignore it. If your iTunes or App Store account becomes disabled for valid reasons, you will know when you try to buy something or log in to this support site, and are unable to.
Don’t install browser extensions unless you understand their purpose. Go to the Safari menu > Preferences > Extensions. If you see any extensions that you do not recognize or understand, simply click the Uninstall button and they will be gone.
Don’t install Java unless you are certain that you need it:
Java, a non-Apple product, is a potential vector for malware. If you are required to use Java, be mindful of that possibility.

OS X viruses do not exist, but intentionally malicious or poorly written code, created by either nefarious or inept individuals, is nothing new.
Never install something without first knowing what it is, what it does, how it works, and how to get rid of it when you don’t want it any more.
If you elect to use "anti-virus" software, familiarize yourself with its limitations and potential to cause adverse effects, and apply the principle immediately preceding this one.
Most such utilities will only slow down and destabilize your Mac while they look for viruses that do not exist, conveying no benefit whatsoever - other than to make you "feel good" about security, when you should actually be exercising sound judgment, derived from accurate knowledge, based on verifiable facts.
Do install updates from Apple as they become available. No one knows more about Macs and how to protect them than the company that builds them.
Summary: Use common sense and caution when you use your Mac, just like you would in any social context. There is no product, utility, or magic talisman that can protect you from all the evils of mankind.
