Migration to an existing 6i repository

We updated the repository from 1.3.2 to 6 (the repository owner is AAA). At the same time, we created a new 6i target repository (the repository owner is BBB). We now plan to migrate the repository from 6 to 6i.
Two questions:
1. The repositories have different owners. Will that cause a problem or can the repository have more than one owner?
2. Will it cause a problem if there is already an id for a user and that user has objects in the repository?
Thank you in advance.

Kyle,
Repository 6 and 6i can have different owners. Ensure you read the migration section in the install guide. You should be migrating between databases, thus you will need to recreate the database users in the new database. Scripts are provided and documented in the migration guide.

  • Can I create a DDL migration script without having a repository?

I'm in the process of evaluating what it would take to migrate from our existing SQL Server (and db2) environments to Oracle, and wanted to test out the Migration function in SQL Developer, to see how 'clean' the resulting DDL would be. I unfortunately do not currently have an Oracle instance with which to play, so I was wondering if there was a way to generate the DDL without connecting to a repository? I don't appear to be able to migrated from source without connecting to a repository. Also, is there a way to run the migration command line so that it can be scripted? Has anyone done that?
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi Kpw,
For nearly all migration functions you need a repository. It is not large so as mentioned above Oracle XE is fine.
You can access the Migration->Translation Scratch Editor without a repository to see how good a job the migration makes on stored procedures (SQL Server TSQL to Oracle PL/SQL).

  • Why does PD says model doesn't exist in repository, when trying to check in

    Hi
I have a checked out a PDM to my local directory.  I have made some changes and checked the model back into repository successfully.  Next day I had to make one more change to my local copy which i did (without doing an explicit checkout) now When i try to check it back in again, PD says model does not exist?  Is it a must that we always have to checkout before making a change ?
attached are the screen shots of my local directory and from the repository.  How does PD determine whether or not a model exist in repository?
    thank you
    Krishna

When a model exists in the repository, the model's metadata holds the unique identifier given to it by the repository; e.g. A89B0620-0379-482B-83C8-88B346BBF471.
If your model is in a project, you can display the 'repository identifier' on model symbols in project diagrams, also in List Reports that contain models.
A quick way of verifying that a model is in the repository is to look at the general tab on the model properties - it should have a 'repository' field alongside the 'version' field.
When you check in the model, it uses this identifier to find the model in the repository. I have seen cases (in 16.5.0) where the checked-out model didn't have this identifier in the header information (visible if you open the model file in an XML editor - do NOT edit it), so it's listed as 'not in repository'.

  • Migration of an existing web site to Web Page Composer

    Hello,
I am investigating the options and the feasibility of the migration of an existing web site to a Web Page Composer (WPC) site. The web resources of the site can easily be copied to KM and used afterwards in WPC containers. However, they can neither be integrated to the WPC site navigation nor edited through the WPC UI. For example, only WPC Web Page or Web Sites can be WPC navigation nodes.
Has anyone ever done or tried such a migration? Do you know where I could find a description (or the javadocs) of the WPC API? Any suggestions or hints will be much appreciated.
    Thank you
    Youlian Dimitrov

    Hi Youlian.
If I understand correctly you have rebuilt only a few hundreds of the old pages using WPC forms. Did you do this manually or you have found a way of migrating them programmatically?
Yes, we did it manually for a two reasons:
    1. short timetable;
    2. 20 intranet sites with variety of used technologies and tools, styles, navigation structures.
Did you leave the rest of the pages as HTML (non-WPC) files?
Yes. But we imported them into KM.
Does it mean that you have implemented only part of the navigation structure through the WPC/portal navigation?
    Yes and no.
Firstly, in our case it would be a bad idea to bring all legacy, sometimes cluttered, navigation structure to a new platform as is.
Secondly, keeping in mind that in a common scenario portal already has own top level navigation you should carefully decide how deep is your site navigation structure will be.
Finally, migration it is a good time for information architecture redesign based on standards and guidelines.
Assuming that you have adjusted properly the links to all resources, have you encountered any particular navigation or display issues following this approach?
I could remember two limitations concerning a navigation:
    1. you should avoiding links to navigation nodes inside non-wpc html files, because in this case a target page opens without DLN;
    2. first linked non-wpc html page, which placed outside wpc container, should be opened in new window.
As for design, all our display issues caused by inline styles within source html files.
Did you notice any noticeable performance degradation after the migration?
We didn't have any degradation of performance. However, it is highly individual and depends on your portal infrastructure.

Actually daily I will take back up for metadata in OWB_OWNER project.

    Plese help me?
I have nearly 50 mapping in this repository.
    Thanks in Advance.

    Hi!
I know I'm late with this post, but I'll post it anyway for future reference!
I encountered the same problem and found out that I had a trailing space in my login name, so check for any traling spaces at login to OWB-designer!
(From the error message pasted in your question it seems you have a space in the beginning)
That solved the problem for me.

  • Taking existing Plumtree user accounts and migrating them to existing group

Does anyone know if it is possible through the Local Portal API or the EDK/IDK to take existing Plumtree user accounts and migrate them to existing groups? Any risks in doing this programmatically? Is it best done through the ui manually to maintain referential and database integrity? Just trying to assess risk here and decide if we should build this kind of tool for our customer which they are requesting. Does the Local Portal API or the EDK/IDK provide capability of "adding" a group affiliation to existing Plumtree users or would this be a bad idea?

A network account is really existing only on the server but if you use "portable homefolders" (Tiger client and server) you could "migrate" the local account to a "server" one by:
Login locally as another user with administrative rights.
Change the name of the old account folder in /Users.
Remove the "old" account locally (woun't remove the "old" folder as you changed the name) only Netinfo data.
Login using the serveraccount login/password thus creating a homefolder on the server.
Logout and back in, enable portable homefolder.
Logout and then in as a local admin and remove the new user folder.
Change the name on the old userfolder to what the new one had.
I'm not a 100% sure Netinfo has the server account UID now (added by logging in and creating the portable account?) but if it does:
"Finding and changing UIDs across the filesystem is a one-liner command:
    sudo find / -user UID -exec chown userName {} \;
(replace UID with the old UID number and userName with the new user name to associate file ownership.)"
(A portable account must have got some "kind" of UID?)
Let the machine "sync" with the server account.
If you want an "on network only" account I don't know what you need to remove locally afterwards.

  • Migration of content from Subversion repository

Hi.  I'm trying to migrate some content from some subversion (svn) repositories into SharePoint document libraries.  Since I don't currently have .NET-based svn-reading capabilities, I've got my content in another application that was then calling into the SharePoint copy web service.  With this I can get almost everything I need, but not quite everything.  I want to be able to retain the check-in author, check-in date, and check-in comment from my svn metadata, but I don't see how to force that information into my document library at the time that I upload my document.
So, how can I create a document in a versioned document library that will allow me to supply my own specific author, modified-by user, and check-in comment?  I am also not opposed to just buying a standalone product that does this, but I can't seem to find anything like it.
    thanks,
    Chris

    Interesting topic..
We use Tortoise/SVN heavily for our team development.
We use it for maintaining all kinds of code stuff. VBS, C#, PowerShell, IPF, AU3 etc....
It's sooo easy to work with, but the backend is either a file share or an  Apache web server.
Currently there does not seem to exist an IIS backend or even a Sharepoint solution.
We have been toying with embedding SVN in IIS/MOSS 2007 since versioning is build in there.
The problem is IMHO the SVN protocol must be implemented in a special MOSS feature and you also need to access the backend trough a web part in order to upload/download subscribe to a repository.
Supplying the mandatory comment attributes can be done in MOSS in the document library settings by adding columns and making them required.
We do that kind of stuff in combination with a special autonumbering feature in order to create unique ID numbers for each document.
I've googled a while about this subject, but there is no real solution in IIS/Sharepoint as far as I know.

  • Migration of 1.3.2 Repository to 9i

    Hi,
We have an Oracle 1.3.2 repository. We want to Migrate to 9i.We are planning to take an export dump of the existing repository and Import it in to 6.0 and then follow the same procedure and migrate to 9i.
    1)Is the approach correct?
2)What are the various objects that are available in a repository and do all objects get migrated?
3)What will happen to the defect diagrams in a repository? How are they migrated?
4)We are not planning to use the repository and regenerate the application. In that case do we have to specify that application generation is not supported during migration or we migrate and then not use the repository for application regeneration?
    Kindly help...

In short "no". The difference between 1.3.2, 6.0 and 9i is significant. There is a document covering the upgrade and migration process involved on OTN. I would encourage you read this in its entirety before you proceed. See here (http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/designer/index.html)
In versions of Designer preceeding 6i, you can do an in place upgrade. i.e. You upgrade the 1.3.2 repository to a 6.0 repository. Between 6.0 and 6i, the underlying repository underwent a significant structural change and so the upgrade is not an option. Instead you will need to have 2 repositories, the old and the new and you migrate from one to the other.
The preparation and migration is discussed in the document mentioned above.

  • SRM MDM, Error, "Table with Code 'null' does not exist in repository"

    Hi experts,
We has SRM MDM scenario, while doing OCI settings, we are able to connect with MDM repository but getting follwoing error message in portal, "java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: Table with Code 'null' does not exist in the repository 'Repository' or is one of the system table (e.g. Workflows) that is not exposed in repository schema"
    Can You please suggest,
    Thanks and Regards,
    Munish

    Hi everyone,
Sudhanshu and Anshuk:- Thanks for your response, let me try and explain the real scenario in details:-
We have deployed the SRM-MDM Catalog Search UI in Portal.
    We tried accessing the http://<Portal Host>:<Portal Port>/SRM-MDM/SRM_MDM
Then we got a screen (Search UI App screen), where in we have provided the MDM Server name, then the MDM Server Password, then presses the Connect button, then below this, it displayed the Repository name created in the MDM. We have selected the Repository, then provided the Credentials of a User (Name: T_CORP) in MDM which has "Catalog Manager", and the "UI Configuration Manager" Roles. Please note that these Role names were created by us in MDM. Is it the right procedure or do we have any standard Roles delivered by SAP in MDM to map? If any standard Roles are available, where we need to check these.
Once the Credentials of MDM User is provided, and then selected the "Login" button.
Then we are getting the below error.
"java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: Table with Code 'null' does not exist in the repository 'Repository' or is one of the system table (e.g. Workflows) that is not exposed in repository schema"
Please clarify; we are not configuring any values in iViews. Where we need to do this, I mean name of the iView, and what values do we need provide generally? We are just running the Search UI App application; I don't think it is an iView, because the URL shows the Application name details, etc...
Please guide us, how to fix this Error.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Munish

  • SRM 7.0 Central Contracts Migration from ECC existing contracts

    Hi colleagues
We are facing the implementation of SRM 7.0 in a client who has ECC installed and we have a doubt with contract migration
We are considering using SRM Central Contracts in order to get them replicated on ECC
All the contracts "alive" that exist in ECC should be created on SRM as central Contracts. The problem is that when you create a SRM central contract the system will replicate it to ECC ... in that case we will have the same contract twice on ECC
    Does anybody face this situation?
I figure out that if at the moment we are creating SRM central contracts we turn off XI/PI the system would not replicate the contract to ECC but I think it would return an error without creating the contract on SRM... and even if we managed to create the central contracts in SRM without replicating them to ECC we would have the problem that both contracts wouldn´t be linked
We can´t consider the solution to be creating those contracts on SRM as SRM local contracts because we need to follow contract cicle in SRM after migration
Could anybody help me out with these?
    Thanks
    Regards

    Hello,
You can upload contracts from ECC to SRM using report BBP_CONTRACT_INITIAL_UPLOAD in SRM.
If you want take care of document type mappings/ Condition type mappings, use badi BBP_CTR_INIT_UP in SRM.
    Thanks,
    Sushil.

There might be a number of reasons why your report doesnt open up .One of the main reasons is that your report is incorrectly configured for the server and application .If you think that it is correctly configured .Then try exporting the report and then delete the report from the repository and then re-import the report back to the repository and check the server/application configuration and then run ur report again on the web . You should do fineeeeee.Naveen

  • Migrating WLC from existing WCS to another WCS

    Dear tecahers:
We support a campus with 8 WLC with 600 APs managed by our own WCS.
Recently we are going to support a new site. They have 4 WLC with about 250 APs managed by another WCS.
What we want to do is migrate 4 WLC with 250 APs from their WCS to our own WCS, thus we can use our own WCS to manage all the WLC and APs.
My question is How can we migrate these 4 WLC from the existing WCS to our own WCS with the configuration and maps?
Any help would be really appreciated.
    Regards,
    Steven

Do you have enough licenses on the new WCS for the additional access points you plan to add ? As for migration, I recall there arent any migration tools from wcs to wcs. I recall there being tools for WLSE to WCS. Depending on how many maps you have, it shouldnt take all that long to import maps and place aps.

  • Migrate AUR towards public subversion repository?

The following idea has been in my head for some time; I was going to just build it; but I figured some discussion might be useful
I think the current setup of the AUR doesn't provide the tools for people to maintain a package. I frequently find myself wanting to add something without wanting to maintain it; or wanting to make a minor fix to an existing entry in the AUR. I know the first problem might be solved by disowning the package, but I have an alternative solution I would like your opinion on.
How about changing the AUR so it would be a web-interface to a subversion repository where everyone can change files in a wiki-like way? This would just be a light webinterface with a simple text-editor area, and some file management tools. The current user-database would be used to verify users, and there would be a single application-account in the svn repository. The application would maintain the relation between commits and users; thereby providing blame functionality to each file. The biggest difference would be that everyone could update every file; with the application providing a complete log of what was changed by who. For external applications to integrate with the AUR, the svn repository could be public read-only.
What do you think about this setup; feedback is welcome

rooloo wrote:I think there has to be some way of doing it like git, being able to have multiple branches of the same project. This way one could easily merge updates into the master private branch.
I was hoping that my suggestion of using subversion would not emerge into a cvs <> svn <> git discussion. What I mean is a versioned file repository and I couldn't care less about the actual implementation

Okay; but wouldn't that be just as visible by the changes they commit, as it would be by the number of packages they add?
Allan wrote:It also prevents abuse by malicious parties.
It does, but only a little bit since those parties could upload malicious PKGBUILDS just as well as they could edit existing ones. When locking of packages would be supported; it might defeat the whole idea of packages being publicly maintained.

  • For Migration: Staffing of existing Roles with Distribution

    Hi,
As a part of Migration, we are trying to use a Report for Uploading Staffing data.
The roles are having Distribution. We are trying to use BUS2177staffingadd BAPI which works only if Start and End dates are same as that of Role.
We are planning to change the Start and End of Staffing using BUS2177*staffing*change FM
But we are not able to change as it checks in standard commit class CL_DPR_CHECK.
Is there any other way to upload staffing data.
Can we use SET_ADVANCED_DISTRIBUTION method of CL_DPR_BUPA_DISTRIBUTION, if so how.
    Appreciate any inputs on this.
    Regards,
    Niranjan

    Hi,
Did you get any answers for this? We are also facing problems while using the FM  BAPI_BUS2177_STAFFING_ADD
When we call  BAPI_CPROJECTS_COMMIT_WORK it returns with an error. When tried to debug, found that system raises an event save_requested and then error occurs.
Please let us know, if you resolved the issue and could upload staffing data.
    Thanks in advance.
