I also modified the 'java.policy' file. But it did not work. I am still getting the same error.
Kindly advise..
Thanks,
Ritwika.

I do not yet know the security implications of doing what I did to fix this issue, but here is my solution.
I added the following to the jre7 java.policy file in the section "grant {":
permission java.lang.RuntimePermission "accessClassInPackage.sun.security.action";

  • Security issues for Discoverer 10g apps 12i

    gurus,
I have couple of things to get it done at client.
We are on Oracle Apps rel 12i with dicoverer 10g.
Did anyone setup MOAC to be enabled and operational in business areas?
Setting up secure responsibilities in discoverer for MOAC?
Any setup needs to be done for custom report security in discoverer ?
    thx

    Hi,
I did setup new MOAC security profiles and assigned multiple organizations to that profile for testing purpose.
After this, I did run concurrent program "Security List Maintennce" etc...
Tested Upding profile at user level or responsibility level.
    On APPS side fine.
I need the some basic steps on setup of security issues for discoverer side.
    1) Business areas (any security steps need to be followed in order to access data for single or multi-org)
    2) Custom Reports ( any security setup or any moac security profile setting against responsibilty for accessing single or multi-org data)
Since we dont have default operating unit parameter as specified in the concurrent program, how do you restrict data?
    3) Reconciling security approach r12 with discoverer (any steps need to be followed here after r12 configuration with security issues)
    4) Custom Views ( any steps to be followed for single or multi-org data as security aspect)
Looking for info on these setups.
    Thx

This is an open forum, not Adobe support... you need Adobe staff to help
    Adobe contact information - http://helpx.adobe.com/contact.html

  • Java WebDynpro's and IE security settings for file download

We have a EP 7.0 SP13 environment on which we have deployed a number of own developed java webdynpro's. In some of these webdynpro's we provide the file download functionality. The portal and webdynpro's are used by both internal personnel and external customers.
On the other hand the default Internet security settings for Internet Explorer, disable "Automatic prompting for file downloads".
When a user, with these default security settings active, tries to use our webdynpro's file download functionality, the screen seems to refreshes but no file download starts. When (s)he retries, the session runs for some minutes and gives following error message:
"com.sap.tc.webdynpro.services.session.LockException: Thread SAPEngine_Application_Thread[impl:3]_20 failed to acquire exclusive lock on client session ClientSession".
This behavior is explained in SAPNote 1234847. Webdynpro provides a single-thread module, meaning a user session is blocked for the during of the request. And because the previous file download isn't yet completed the new try can't start.
Issue now, although the users IE settings allow file downloads and don't block pop up's, he can't download the file and even isn't made aware of the cause of the failure.
How can we avoid this issue, without having to communicate the
    application requires specific browser settings?

  • About "kernel.exec-shield" and "because they will bring security issue" for linux ASE

In " ASE Quick Installation Guide for Linux", "kernel.exec-shield=0" and  “kernel.randomaize-va-space=0” should be set.
But SuSE engineers say that  “kernel.exec-shield=0”and “kernel.randomaize-va-space=0” will bring the OS security issue.
Customer want to know why ASE need the above parameters ?
Has anybody the idea for customer's question?

If the parameters are not set as documented, attempts to start additional engines beyond the first one will fail, generating stack traces.
ASE acts in many ways like it's own operating system, scheduling individual user connections (spids) to actively run (note that ASE was developed well before native threading was commonly available).  Each spid has it's own stack information that gets swapped in when it is set to "running" state on the engine and swapped out when it yields the engine.  The mechanics of this is not that different from the buffer overrun exploits described in the Red Hat document linked to by the
    install guide, http://www.redhat.com/f/pdf/rhel/WHP0006US_Execshield.pdf
and the exec-shield mechanics definatately interfere ASE's operations when ASE is using multiple dataserver processes (engines) that swap spids around.

  • Security issues for Java server side code

When reading the Oracle 8i documentation regarding using JDBC
with Java running within the database, I found that the Oracle-
specific call 'defaultConnection()' can be used instead of the
    standard 'getConnection()'.
This appears to be what I want to use as it avoids Net8.
However, in the documentation it states that the user ID and
password are ignored. Is there no way, then, of implementing
user based security in a Java program using defaultConnection()?
    Thanks,

    Hi Kiran
See u know how to call serverside java objects from remoteobject?  If u know that every thing same that replace coldfusion and place ur java stuff
but nothing will change at client side cairngorm architecture.. use blaze ds server to connect with the server and make a remote call to the server and have fun.
i think u know how to initialize services in cairngorm framework and make some struff on delegate and call serverside java methods from remote object service.
u can try this dont try for examples in the net or something.. u have a complete knowledge on cairngorm framework .. and just u want to develop j2ee applications ..
make try with sample applications with j2ee server.. its very easy and little interesting.. make some pojos in serverside to communicate with the database and call that methods..
i think this will help u and i dont have perfect example for serverside java code...
this is not and example in cairngorm and java .. but u know cairngorm  and i am posting here only the tutorial how to communicate with java methods

  • Java Security Model for Web Apllication Security

    Hi,
Any one can tell me about Java Security model used in web site protection. what are th eAPI's used to implement this model on Websites.
I am keen to know only about the Authentication and Authorization secutiry.
    Thanks,
    Vivek

Hi Ram, thanks for reply. I appreciate your comments.
This is a very interesting topic because we need to know how much flexibility we have in order to apply security policies to our services. After all, SOA is about flexibility (with appropriate level of control), isn't it? :-P
Option 1 (WSDL files) is a reasonable one. We could create "views" of the same service using ESB. But I'm concerned if this approach ("Security Oriented Views" of a service) can lead to difficulties in operational governance and appropriate discovery and reuse of the service.
Option 2 is also something to be concerned, as we could end up designing "Security Oriented Architecture" :-P
Option 3 (Customization through OAM) is also reasonable, but I don't know if this is really possible to achieve since OAM is mostly related to web resources. It would be nice if we had a chance to implement this in WSM instead.

    Hi,
We also experienced that limitation when a vendor is connecting to our XI SOAP Sender Adapter. It is asking for basic username/password. What we did was to create a Generic XI user with a password on it and use SSL authentication at the same time. Our Scenario was PI --> XI --> SAP R3, with the PI system using an HTTP RFC destination with a Basic Logon and Active SSL option to connect to the same system as yours https://host:portnumber/XISOAPAdapter/MessageServlet
Let me know if this helped...

  • Will there be a java security update for OS 10.7/10.8 users like the one for OS 10.6 users (update 12) ?

There is a security risk for all 10.7/10.8 users according to Oracle.  When will we get a resoltuion and/or recommendation for the vunerablilities found in the Java version 1.6.0.37?

When will we get a resoltuion and/or recommendation for the vunerablilities found in the Java version 1.6.0.37?
There will never be a permanent resolution. Java is inherently insecure by design.
Java on the Web (not to be confused with JavaScript, to which it's not related, despite the similarity of the names) is a weak point in the security of any system. Java is, among other things, a platform for running complex applications in a web page, on the client. That was never a good idea, and Java's developers have had a lot of trouble implementing it without also creating a portal for malware to enter. Past Java exploits are the closest thing there has ever been to a Windows-style "virus" affecting OS X. Merely loading a page with malicious Java content could be harmful. Fortunately, Java on the Web is mostly extinct. Only a few outmoded sites still use it. Try to hasten the process of extinction by avoiding those sites, if you have a choice.
Java is not included in OS X 10.7 and later. Discrete Java installers are distributed by Apple and by Oracle (the developer of Java.) Don't use either one unless you need it. Most people don't. If Java is installed, disable it — not JavaScript — in your browsers. In Safari, this is done by unchecking the box marked Enable Java in the Security tab of the preferences dialog.
Regardless of version, experience has shown that Java on the Web can't be trusted. If you must use a Java applet for a specific task, enable Java only when needed for the task and disable it immediately when done. Close all other browser windows and tabs, and don't visit any other sites while Java is active. Never enable Java on a public web page that carries third-party advertising. Use it only on well-known, password-protected, secure websites without ads. In Safari 6 or later, you'll see a lock icon in the address bar with the abbreviation "https" when visiting a secure site.

    Hi,
Tha ABAP stack consists of the Integration Server which in turn contains your Integration Engine and Business Process Engine.
The J2EE stack contains the Adapter Engine and your IR and ID run on the J2EE engine.
Ever wondered how and where the XI pipeline gets executed? It happens in the ABAP stack.
All messsages picked by the Adapter Framework running on the J2EE engine are passed to the Integration Engine, which does the routing. The mapping program again gets executed on the Java stack and the rest of the pipeline servies are executed again on the ABAP stack and so  on.
Take a look at the XI overview doc to understand this better,

  • Security issues for Flash cookies, Local Shared Objects, .sol files

    Good day, all
I just found out a bit about flash cookies from Wikipedia and http://epic.org/privacy/cookies/flash.html
I was wondering if there was a security issue with these (as opposed to privacy issues)?
It seems easy enough to prevent them being stored or delete them after they are set.
    Thanks,
    Hugh

    Hello Patricia,
    You wrote,
I came to this forum to see if I could find out how to delete adobe's flash cookies
You have to do it online via this website.
    Macromedia's Website Storage Settings panel
Note: As the site says, the dialogue box is not an image, "it is the actual settings manager"
I just tried it out and deleted the flash content from How Stuff Works, then revisited the site (How Stuff Works) and it didn't add it back, so it seems to work as stated.

  • How to increase Memory and Java Heap Size for Content Server

    Hi,
My content server is processing requests very slowly. Over performance is not good. I have 2 GB of RAM any idea what files I can modify to increase the Java Heap Size for the Content Server. If I increase the RAM to 4 or 6 GB where do I need to make changes for the Java Heap Size and what are the recommended values. I just have Content Server Running on the linux box. Or how do I assign more memory to the user that owns the content server install.
    Thanks
