Mirror mirror on the wall...

Need help. I've got an iphone 4s, up to date on ios...6.1.3 (I think from memory). An ipad2 and apple tv (up to date). I double the double tap home, swipe twice etc on the ipad2 and can see the mirroring option (and use it). If i do the same on the iphone, i get the apple tv / iphone option but the mirroring slider is not there. Any ideas?

As of IOS 7 this was moved to control centre.

Mirrors, mirrors on the wall

So, here's a unique situation: I am trying to help a friend extend his network in to his home's bedroom.
Currently he has a base station on the second story, an Express in his hallway, and a third Express, with a clear line of sight to the hallway's Express. The third Express is located outside his bedroom door, and a MacBook within a few feet of it shows full signal strength.
In his bedroom, though, the signal strength quickly drops and within 10 feet of the third Express, the signal nearly drops out, or does drop out completely. He insists that the walls do not contain any concrete or heavy steel. The signal does get from the original base station to the second Express without severe signal loss, and the signal is traveling through the same construction.
So, here's my best guess: he has an entire bedroom wall covered with floor to ceiling mirrors (tacky, I know!). This wall is essentially parallel to the line drawn between the MacBook and the Third Express when the signal drops out.
Is it possible that these large mirrors are enough to disperse the otherwise strong signal into no signal at all?

Yes, it is possible, but anything but a "perfect" mirror would not necessarily redirect the RF energy to it's desired path. (ref: http://www.wifi-forum.com/wf/showthread.php?t=287)

Have you checked if your device does support HDCP? I looked at https://www.iezvu.com/ezcast.php?l=en but i'm afraid i can't find any detailed specification for it.
If you have unlocked your bootloader this may also be the cause for this issue.

How can you remove mirroring from the digital images of old photographs?

I have inherited several hundred old photographs and many of them display "silver mirroring" in the black regions which creates a bluish cast on the scanned image. Is there a simple way to reduce this problem during the scanning process or is there a way within Photoshop to repair it? With many such photographs, I shutter to consider the time required to repair them one-by-one in Photoshop.

When scanning, try setting the black threshold up a bit. This might loose some detail in the dark regions, but it will also make the slightly lighter images in the dark regions disappear. It depends on how light the images are and how much dark-region detail you are willing to sacrifice.

How to mirror between the production server and the multiple local servers.

I am currently looking for the best way to correspond between our production server and the multiple local servers. Because the production server is the only server that holds the latest updating applications, and our local servers are located for each developer’s local machines where the all modifications and creations are done. So when the developer locally makes changes for assets or files, he creates a patch archive first, then accesses to the production side Administration console screen and imports them from Application Management screen.
We tried to find a way to see the imported date before (so we know which one has been imported as new.), but there is no show in the Administration console Application Management screen. There is Creation date but it’s set as we initially imported the full archive files, but not patch files. Since between applications have some types of the dependencies (like fragments or image files), what is the best way to keep mirroring between the production server and local servers? Or we should simply not use patch file for updating server?

Airplay Mirroring and the Mac DVD player not working

Has anyone else experienced issues trying to airplay mirror the mac dvd player? When I attempt to play a dvd while airplay mirroring is turned on the dvd player window just shows the checkerboard pattern and no video (this is on both the laptop screen and the tv screen). If I take airplay mirroring off the dvd displays properly.

I had this same problem, and i read that it has to do with DRM. Even DVDs you make your self wont work because the DRM is set on the DVD player it self. You can use VLC and it should work, it worked with me. Anyways good luck.

Are you using the YRW composite connectors on the TV or the RGB composite connectors? - the cable will only work with YRW and the correct input choice on the TV - if you are connecting correctly then I am sorry I don't have any other suggestions

Best practice for making a mirror of the system disk

I've got an HP ML115 machine that I'm installing Solaris 10 on. It has four disks: a 160GB (boot drive), a 300GB spare, and two 1.5TB drives. I've made a mirrored pool of the two 1.5TB drives. I'd like to create a mirror of the 160GB boot drive (I realise I'll lose some space). However, I'm unsure of how to do this. Attempting to create a mirror (zpool create -f bootmirror c0t0d0 c0t1d0) tells me that the partitions are mounted.
Any ideas on what the best way to achieve this is, please?

What filesystem type is root currently UFS or ZFS.
If its currently UFS, you will have to use SVM for mirroring. A UFS root can't be converted to a ZFS root.
If its already a ZFS root just not mirrored, it should be simple. Just add the disk to the pool to "promote" it to mirrored.
You do that with a zpool attach command.

When I view some canvas3d/webgl content, the toolbar is mirrored on the canvas. Is this a bug?

I'm experiencing a weird issue with canvas tags using webgl. When I open some pages with webgl, my top toolbar (back/forward buttons, awesome bar and all the rest) is mirrored in the bottom of the canvas element instead of showing the expected content. Focusing any other window causes the mirrored image to be replaced with the actual content.
I have tested this with several webgl pages, the problem only appears on some of them, and I have no idea why. An example page that does show the problem: http://alteredqualia.com/three/examples/webgl_cubes.html.
I have also tested this under a default profile with none of my addons installed, and still experienced the problem. I'm running Firefox 25, under OSX 10.6. Screenshot here: http://imgur.com/TZcABYN

I have reached the same conclusion in the mean time. I have done a bit of investgation in to other grahics cards and am seeing some that show SPDIF connections from the card to the mother board. I was not familar with SPDIF but it did a little bit of sluething. It is of course a digitally enconded voice. I am guessing that in that case the mother board ( assuming it supports this hardware option) would use this output and be able to translate that digital audio to its other audio outputs. That is a lot of guessing of course. I think my "solution" might be a whole new desktop - a rather drastic course of action! I was in the proceess of getting ready to upgrade this machine anyway with a new graphics card (which I will now return), go to Win 7, and maybe even a new digital TV reciever, and I don't want to throw good money after bad anyway.

Yes they are both connected to the same wifi network. Do you know when you double click on the home button and swipe right? The airplay button isn't there beside the play/pause and forward and backward button. It should be there.

Ok....I have a 2012 MBP that has Yosemiti installed. The airplay works from iTunes, but when I try to mirror from the desktop I get the "no device detected" message. Airplay on all of my other devices work fine. Has anyone else had this issue?
