Misinterpreting JPEG file format when dynamically select mages

Hi everybody,
I notice one strange thing, how OBIEE 11g interprets JPEG file name formats. I've activated analyticsRes service and everything worked fine....until I've tried to select dynamically the image with the JPEG file name as *6590.jpg*. I set the new photo column on the BMM layer with the expression
*'/analyticsRes/shoes/' || CAST("ADDON_1"."DM_PLU"."MODEL_CODE" as varchar(30)) || '.jpg'*
As you see, the name of the JPEG file was set as varchar (30), BUT! Instead of retrieving the image from the file *6590.jpg* for the particular MODEL_CODE the system shows square shape with the red cross on the left upper corner. I've tried several work arounds, but until I changed the MODEL_CODE in the DWH to *06590* and made subsequent name change for the JPEG file in the '/analyticsRes/shoes/' directory nothing worked properly.
So, be aware, that the item name in the of the column which you refer to as a JPEG file name has varchar format (you could use '-', letters, etc.) in order to avoid system's misinterpreting of the JPEG file name.
I would appreciate your comments.
Regards
AL

Make sure that the string is showing as /analyticsRes/shoes/6590.jpg
and then Column properties->Data Format->Image URL
Let me know how it works

  • AI CS3 Plugin: How to get the file format that is selected in the "save as" dialog??

    Hi,
    Someone please help me in getting the file format that is selected in the "save as" dialog. I wanted to retrieve it in the string format.
    I tried sAIDocument->GetDocumentFileFormat. But i'm unable to implement it correctly. Is there a better way or How do I implement this? Precisely, I wanna get the value as a string when the user selects "save as .pdf".

    Do you really need to know the file type? What about just checking the bit depth?
    var doc = activeDocument;
    if (doc.bitsPerChannel != BitsPerChannelType.EIGHT) {//Not 8 bit
    doc.bitsPerChannel = BitsPerChannelType.EIGHT;
    //do your save etc
    }else{

  • My raw files go to unsupported file format when I load them in. Sony RX 100 had for one year. Never happened before.

    my raw files go to unsupported file format when I load them in. Sony RX 100 camera shooting RAW had for one year. Never happened before.
    Can only load the files in by running them trhough Adobe Camera RAW first and loading them as TIFFS into Aperture. JPEGs form the Sony load into Aperture just fine. Have repaired datebase, permissions ect but no change. Aperture 3.4.5 on a Power Mac. Whats up? Anyone know?

    You mention that 'most' of your files are DNG. Try
    running the effected files through Adobe DNG
    converter again and then import your reprocessed
    files to Aperture and see if the problem persists.
    I had a problem with a batch of D2x files converted
    to DNG which had been metadata tagged by
    PhotoMechanic (the evil app).
    B.T.W. You mention that you had been using Bridge.
    Are you getting any of the embedded XMP metadata
    coming into Aperture during the import process?
    Already tried that multiple times...no luck. I'm wondering though if it might be related to metadata as you suggest. I'm still trying different things to see what happens.
    I was able to alleviate the problem on one set of images by painstakingly searching my external drive for the oldest backups I could find - CR2 files from before DNG conversion. I then ran those through DNG Converter and tried importing them again (this time, I embedded NO thumbnail, but I'm not sure if that made the difference - I think it was more likely a fluke in the original conversion that caused the problem). This time, it worked.
    Now, the big problem is that I still have a couple hundred images for which I can't seem to locate the original CR2 files. I don't typically keep them after conversion, as I don't have the space for both.

  • What happened to my "Photoshop JPEG file" format?

    On my previous two computers -- a G5 running 10.4, a MacBookPro on 10.5, both using Photoshop CS3 -- I used to have two kinds of JPEG files. One was listed in the Finder as "JPEG file," and that opened in Preview; the other was "Photoshop JPEG file," which would open Photoshop.
    On my new setup, a MacMini on 10.7 using Photoshop CS5, there are no Photoshop JPEG files, just plain JPEG files that open in Preview.
    I need to get the two formats back, as the difference helped me determine which images I had worked on and aided in my photo workflow. I don't want to change all files to Open With Photoshop in Get Info, as that doesn't solve the problem.
    Is this something in the Finder? Photoshop? Preferences? How do I get that functionality back? Thanks.

    Filname extensions are already on. Also, I typically save most of my images as jpegs so -- for example -- I can send them off to labs, which usually don't accept straight Photoshop PSD files.
    I guess what I need to know is whether the separate "Photoshop JPEG File" format has been removed completely from OS 10.7, or can it be restored. It would be a shame if it's gone, as it was a handy function.

  • JPEG file format option missing in PSE 9

    The JPEG file format option in the "Save as" dialog is no longer listed in PhotoShop Elements 9.  I've completely uninstalled and re-installed the software, but the JPEG file format option is not there.

    Most likely you have a 16 bit file and JPEG is an 8 bit format. Go to image>mode>8 bits/channel and jpeg should reappear as an option.

  • Importing Raw and Jpeg file formats to Mac Pro

    Since migrating to Photos from iPhotos when importing photos only Jpegs seem to get imported, not Raw files when shot in both formats on my NikonD5300. Does anyone know how i can import the two file formats simultaneously? (I have double checked the settings on my camera!)
    Thanks Louise

    Photos will import both the RAW and the JPEG, but stack them and use only one of them as the original file.
    You will see badge overlays "J" or "R", indicating if the RAW or the JPEG is currently uses as the original file to render edits.
    Open the photo in "EDIT" mode, then you will be able to switch to the "RAW" version as the original file, in the "Image" menu.  The options "Use RAW as original" or "Use JPEG as original" are only available in Edit mode, also "Reprocess RAW"

  • Unrecognized File Format when importing:

    Hi, I have an older Canon Rebel XT (It does not shoot in RAW format-that's how old it is). I have had no problems importing to iPhoto until recently. Now iPhoto imports just some of my images & gives me an error msg saying the rest are an "unrecognized file format". They are all hi-res RGB jpegs w/ '.JPG' suffix. I am not using any camera effects or B&W settings. I am using iPhoto 8.1.2. I replaced the memory card, thinking it might be corrupt, but I still get the msg. All images import fine to my MacBook (running 10.6.6), but I'd really like to be able to import them to my iMac which has much more HD space. Any help would be appreciated.

    As a Test:
    Hold down the option (or alt) key and launch iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Create Library'
    Import a few pics into this new, blank library. Is the Problem repeated there?

  • How do i change the webpage file format when saving a webpage?

    whenever i try to save a webpage it automatically does so using a chrome html format. windows does not recognize this format. how do i change it? thanks

    I'm not sure what you mean by a "chrome html format."
    I save pages all the time with Firefox 3.6.16 (and now 3.6.17) and have no problems.
    When you select Save Page As, it opens a dialog window so that you can indicate where the page is to be saved.
    In the Save as Type dropdown list are format options - "Web page, Complete", "Web Page, HTML only", and "text files"
    If you select Web Page, Complete, Firefox saves the HTML file and creates a folder where it stores all the other files associated with the page. If you then open the HTML file, it should display properly in Firefox (or any other browser).,
    If you select Web Page, HTML only, Firefox saves only the HTML file, no other files are saved.
    If you select text files, Firefox saves only the text, it does not save any of the HTML. Basically, you get what you can see on the page without any of the formatting.
    I've never seen an option, in Firefox 3, to save a file as a "chrome html format."
    I've only see what I described above.
    One other thing, I suggest you upgrade to Firefox 3.6.17. At 3.6.10 you are quite a way back and have missed some security updates.
    I don't think you can use the update link under the Help menu, you may have to go to the Firefox site and download it manually. It would not hurt to look for some instructions as to how to go from 3.6.10 to 3.6.17.

  • Unknown file format when downloading map loader?!?...

    I downloaded nokia maps from the nokia website and then nokia map loader but for some reason a get a message on my n73 saying that the nokia map loader is an unknown file format...can anybody tell me what to do??

    I assume you're trying to install the map loader on your computer and not on your phone
    If you can't get map loader to work, you could try this map loader alternative: http://nokiamaps.moo.no . You don't need to install anything for that.

  • Does anyone know why Aperture gives me a message "unsupported File Format" when I try to import D4s RAW files?

    I just got a Nikon D4s, and I use Aperture 3 ( v 3.5.1) as my primary workflow program. I am getting a message that I am trying to import a "unsupported file format".
    Does anyone know if its just me, or does Apple have a fix to this problem?

    Have you updated to the most recent Digital Camera RAW Compatibility Update 5.05? If not, run Software Update.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht5955
    What are your settings for the RAW format in your camera?  The footnote for the RAW support for Nikon D4s reads:
    †Nikon RAW L format only.
    Maybe, you need to change your RAW format settings.

  • Photoshop Elements 8-Change of file format when saving deletes filename

    I have been using Photoshop Elements 8 since last May and have always been irritated that when I add text to a photo it always defaults to PSD format for saving.  I have gone to the preference options to see if I can set jpg as the default and it does not offer that option.  This means that every time I save after adding text I have to manually select jpg to get the format to change.
    Although this has been a pain, I have done it thousands of times as I have edited photos.
    My problem is that suddenly from one day to the next when I change from PSD option to jpg the filename disappears and I have to go back and manually type in the whole filename.  The only changes to my computer settings that I can think of that might have affected this is that Microsoft Updates had 2 updates.  First was Definition for Windows Defender-KB915597 and the other was Unpdate for Windows 7 for x64 based systems-KB97690.
    I saw a similar problem posted by sandwitch2 on Feb. 13th about PSE6.  99jon suggested the change to permissions of adding "everyone".  I tried this and it did not correct the problem.
    Any other suggestions are welcome.
    I have found Adobe's insistance on saving as PSD irritating to say the least in the past.  The inability to change this in preferences has made me very unhappy, but the quality of their product has outweighed the hoops they make me jump through until this.  Their search feature in support is pretty much worthless.  It either brings up nothing if you keyword is to limiting or brings up 200 responses if it if too broad.
    I have been a user of Photoshop Elements for over 6 years updating as new editions have come out. I am to the point that if I can't get this current problem fixed I am uninstalling Elements 8 and going to another software.  Adobe's proprietary requirements and poor support page are just too much of a pain to deal with.

    I was told that if I save in PSD if I send the photos to share with others only those with Photoshop Elements can open the files.  That is why I try to use jpg.  Is that true?
    Thanks for all the help from both of you,
    Bettye

  • How do I email my photos to instructor so extended information can be viewed.  He says they need to be in jpeg file.  When I test copy to myself I cant get this information.

    How do I email my photos from iphoto to my instructor so the extended information can be accessible.  I have tried emailing from share and included titles and descriptions but when I test it to me I can not access the extended info.  Also how can I email more than one photo in one email.  These photos are for a class and have not been altered by iphoto.  Thanks

    Select a photo and export it to the desktop (file menu == export) and in the finder select it and show info - is the info you want there (it is for me) - If it is Then attach that photo to an e-mail sand send it - if the info does no arrive then g-mail is the issue
    BTW You can use Apple mail and configure it to use G-Mail as its server
