Missing "Add-ons" toolbar in Adobe Reader X

In Adobe Reader 8.1.1 I implemented buttons in the "Add-ons" toolbar with Javascript.
This toolbar was activated by right-mouse click in the standard-toolbar and checking on "Zusatzprogramme"
(i don't know the english term). The internal name of the toolbar is "JSAppToolbar.
JavaScript:
   app.addToolButton({
   cName:     "DirektDruck",
   cExec:     "pp = event.target.getPrintParams();" +
              "fv = pp.constants.flagValues;" +
              "pp.pageHandling = pp.constants.handling.none;" +
              "pp.interactive = pp.constants.interactionLevel.automatic;" +
              "pp.flags |= fv.supressCenter;" +
              "pp.flags &= ~fv.suppressRotate;" +
              "pp.flags &= ~fv.setPageSize;" +
              "pp.printerName = "+ "'" + global.vvwpriname +"';" +
              "event.target.print(pp);",
   cEnable:   "event.rc = (event.target != null);",
   cTooltext: "Direktdruck",
   cLabel:    "Direktdruck",
   nPos:      0});
In Adobe Reader X the "Add-ons" toolbar seems to be disappeared.
When viewing an PDF-Dokument with Adobe Reader X by accidently i saw the tools-panel "Werkezeuge" (called tools in the english version). There i found my buttons created by JAVASCRIPT. Viewing another PDF-Dokument the tools-panel doesn't appear.
   Here the panel "Werkzeuge" (Tools) appears:
   Here the panel "Werkzeuge" (Tools) is not displayed:
Questions:
1. Where can I define the appearance of the panel "Werkzeuge" (Tools).
2: I want to place my own buttons (with javascript) in a toolbar, because our users are not amused to click through menus. The solution in older Acrobat Reader Versions was perfect !! How can i achieve this requirement.

Hi Bernd,
   Thank you for your suggestion... unfortunately no effect! I have tried pressing F8 (I made sure the focus was on the plugin by clicking on it). The bar does not appear. So I think either:
* F8 only toggles the bar in the separate Reader program, not the plugin;
or
* Because I removed the toolbar by deselecting each "sub-bar" separately with the mouse, I'm toggling nothing (bar is invisible).
   Is there any other thing I could try?
Best regards,
Lee

  • Major issues with a add-on Emoji Cheatsheet and missing add-ons in Firefox 37.0.2 ?

    As soon as Firefox updated me to 37.0.2 installed I started having issues with missing add-ons and missing tool bar buttons.
    Instead spending all day reloading add-on from "Refreshing" Firefox I just started going through my add-ons and disabling them and restarting (4-5 at a time) till thinks went right. I spent a hour last night till I got down t last few that could because it . I left FIREBUG disable and things started working as is and Compatibility Reporter started working too.
    Well I woke up to start Firefox and to my shagrin it was messed up again. So I went back through and and remembered the few last add-ons I re-enabled right before I disabled Firbug. So I disable it and sure enough things went back to normal.
    What Add-on was that?
    '''Emoji Cheatsheet :: Add-ons for Firefox'''
    [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/emoji-cheatsheet/?src=ss]
    When the icon for it shows on my toolbar everything else shows, yet when it goes awal many other things malfunction. I tried reloading Firfox several times and nothing change. So when I disable it and restarted things were normal and working.
    Anyone else experience this?

    Sorry, the post about clearing your cache was meant for a different question.
    I suggest opening a ticket on the issue forums for this plugin: https://github.com/johannhof/emoji-helper/issues
    P.s. If it helps, I currently have 16 add-ons installed.

  • Should I have an Add-Ons Toolbar in 9 Pro Extended?

    Using 9 Pro Extended on Windows 7.
    I'm trying to get started using JavaScript.
    Should I have an 'Add-Ons' Toolbar?
    When I go to View/Toolbars I don't see anything with that name.
    I've also looked under Tools and I don't see anything there for Add-Ons either.
    Thanks for any help!

    It will appear (or be displayable) after you add at least one toolbar button with JavaScript, using the app.addToolButton method: http://livedocs.adobe.com/acrobat_sdk/9.1/Acrobat9_1_HTMLHelp/JS_API_AcroJS.88.134.html

  • Why is the save disk disabled on the toolbar of Adobe Reader X?

    Why is the save disk disabled on the toolbar of Adobe Reader X?
    I cannot use the shortcut CTRL+S either. I have to click File, Save As, PDF...too long and drawn out. Why is the quick save disabled?

    How do I make it not disabled?
    Change something in the PDF after opening it.

  • ERROR: The program is unable to generate the add-on queue due to missing add-ons or Support Packages.

    Hi,
    Can anyone advice on below issue?
    ERROR: The program is unable to generate the add-on queue due to missing add-ons or Support Packages.
    Add the missing Support Packages or repeat the current step and change the add-on selection.
    Missing Support Package(s):
    Correction
    Component
    IW_FNDGC
    I have manually download these components which is SAPK-10001INIWFNDGC and SAPK-10002INIWFNDGC and put it in the download directory and repeat the phase.
    Besides, I also checked that these 2 components were inside EPS/in folder CSN0120061532 0083837 PAT and CSN0120061532 0079648 PAT
    Thanks and regards,

    Hi Shu Jie,
    you can't delete already installed add-ons. Please refer to note #1569624:
    It is not possible to uninstall GATEWAY 2.0
    Before you install the GATEWAY 2.0, keep in mind that you cannot uninstall ABAP add-ons.
    The add-on GW CORE will be merged in IW_FNDGC. This information can also be found in above note:
    Please
    note:
    GW_CORE 200 is not released for SAP_BASIS 740.
    The successor is IW_FNDGC 100.
    There are two possible reason for your error:
    The stackfile is not well configured.
    Your SUM is not the very latest one. SUM SP10 contained a bug in its first patch levels which shows retrofitted components in IS_SELECT.
    Cheers,
    Andreas

  • How to add the "comment and markup toolbar" in adobe reader 9

    Hi there, I've been trying to add the comment and markup toolbar in acrobat reader 9 but I simply cannot do it. I've tried both the Tools and View menus but I cannot add this particular toolbar. Does anyone know the reason? What can I do to get this toolbar? Even when in a pdf document commenting is not allowed, Should'nt I be able at least to see the toolbar unavailable?
    Many thanks,
    Enrique

    Impossible, and illogical. PDF files are not streamed or RAM-cached so if someone is viewing a file they must have already saved it.

  • Missing toolbar in Adobe reader plugin in Firefox

    Hello,
       I have been foolish enough to remove the toolbar from my Adobe Reader 9 plugin for Firefox 3.5. I did this by right-clicking on the toolbar and unchecking each option in turn. It looks nice, but now I don't know how to make the toolbar visible again, and I can't find a help file devoted to the plugin. Must I reinstall the plugin?
    Thank you very much for your time!

  • Ran a previous version of FF, then closed and ran regular (5.0) version, but some add-ons, toolbars, and other stuff has disappeared. How can I get this stuff back?

    I have been running 5.0 great for a while now, but today I tried downloading and running FF 3.6. As it was opening it stopped responding, but then I tried to force quit but then it worked and loaded up the pages I had open on 5.0 when I closed it.
    I then closed the 3.6 version and ran the 5.0. I noticed a few things were gone or different...
    ~Several add-ons/extensions and toolbars were gone. Some of them were: Adblock Plus, Read it Later (and all its saved pages), Stumble Upon toolbar.... and more I am not sure of...
    ~Some of the saved sessions in my Session Manager add-on were gone.
    ~FF 5 seems to not be asking if I want to save my pages whenever I quit.
    ~The settings for how my tabs appeared has changed also... Like the color of text and where a new tab goes when I click on a link (to the right of the current tab or all the way to the right)... I am not sure if this is because of an associated add-on/extension being deleted.
    UPDATE: I checked my profile folder and all of the extensions' data is all still there but FF5 is just not reading it correctly. (like adblock plus... I see the folder for it but FF5 doesn't have it on the add-on manager page when I run FF5) (The stumble upon toolbar folder is also in my profile folder but is not showing up in View->Toolbars when I actually run FF5)
    Any help would be extremely appreciated.
    Thanks!

    Thanks but I don't think this will help. Like I said, all of my add-ons were working fine and compatible until after running a previous version of FF. I am sure they are still compatible, but they are not working at all.
    I even checked my profile folder and all of the extensions' data is all still there but FF5 is just not reading it correctly. (like adblock plus... I see the folder for it but FF5 doesn't have it on the add-on manager page when I run FF5)

  • Mozilla Firefox is not finding "missing plugins" when I know Adobe Reader is required for the site, specifically Blackboard for UT Austin. What is going on?

    I have the latest version of Ubuntu on an Asus laptop (netbook) with an Intel® Atom™ CPU N450 @ 1.66GHz × 2. Firefox came with Ubuntu, but for some strange reason, when I go to blackboard to view something in PDF and I try to install the missing Adobe Reader plugin, Firefox says it "can't find any suitable plugins". What is going on?

    Try opening your "package manager"/synaptic and search for "acroread"
    Install it. Try again with firefox. Also try with cromium and opera.
    One prof needed all three browsers on different sections of blackboard..nightmare.
    So you know, blackboard sucks bad for linux...you have to do a lot of work to make it work correctly if your professor uses it poorly.
    Try accessing the files like this:
    - instead of going to the "courses" tab,
    - choose "content collection" tab
    - then open "course content" folder
    - then you should see the list of documents
    Also you may have to switch back and forth with cromium/opera
    hope this helps
    -edit-
    forgot to add, the "blackboard IM" does work if you install the package "wine". You have to use an older version of the IM than the current and don't use the upgrade nag unless you're a lucky sob.

  • How can I add page numbers using Adobe Reader?

    I am trying to add page numbers to my document only using Adobe Reader.  Is that possible?  Or do I need to use Adobe Acrobat?

    The free Reader can do very little more than reading (opening) PDF files. I'd use Acrobat.

  • Cannot add 2nd comment using adobe reader xi

    Having issues adding a 2nd comment to a pdf using Reader XI.  I can add comments once, but the file seems to get corrupted once the pdf is made and saved. When I go back to it and put in comments and go to resave it the file says that “The file may be read only or another user may have it open. Please save the document with a different name or in a different folder”. When I go to delete the file it goes away but when I go to save the file which I put under a different name and try to rename it to the original file it says it already exist. So when I leave the directory and come back in the old file is there but now is corrupted and I cannot do anything with it.

    Hello,
    Do you see the same problem with all the PDF files? I would suggest to update Reader -Adobe - Adobe Reader : For Windows,
    Please download the latest version.

  • Show toolbars on adobe reader x open from internet internet

    I would like to how to show the toolbars in a adobe document sent to me to enable correction. I am using adobe reader x

    Have you tried the "F8" key to restore the toolbar?
    Move your mouse cursor to the lower middle section of the PDF and see if a pop-up appears, there should be a disk you can click to accomplish the Save action.
    I can even right mouse click on your link and save the PDF.

  • Missing add-ons, hard to install them again.

    One day firefox simply "forgot" the add-ons it had installed (Adblock, session manager, google translate)
    And when I try to download them back from the mozilla website, nothing happens. Although if I open the installation link in another tab, it works.
    Any ideas on what's happening?

    hello yogubert, are you using avast as security software by any chance? (if so you might to consider switching to other less intrusive programs): http://www.ghacks.net/2014/11/16/latest-avast-reportedly-deleting-firefox-add-ons/

  • Missing option "open" or "visualize" (Adobe reader DC iPad iOS 8.3)

    Why is missing an option "open" or "visualize" in my Adobe reader DC? (iPad iOS 8.3)
    how can i open a document from a net link? Or from another source?

    Hi,
    Is there a particular button or menu item that you think is missing in the new Acrobat DC?
    To open a PDF document from Safari or other iOS app, you can use the iOS "Open In" feature.  (It has not changed since the older version - Adobe Reader for iOS.)
    Would you take a look at the following FAQ document to see if it answers your question?
    How to open PDF documents in Adobe Reader (iPad on iOS 7 or 8 version)
    The FAQ document shows Adobe Reader for iOS (the old version).  But the content is applicable to Acrobat DC for iOS (the new version) as well.
    Please let us know if you have any questions.  Thank you.

  • Stamp Toolbar in Adobe Reader 8

    I have been unsucessful in using the stamp tool in Adobe Reader 8. I can't get the stamp icon, or toolbar, to show up. I believe that it has to do with document rights, but I am unaware of how to change/enable document rights so that I can use a scanned signature as a custom stamp.
    The custom stamp is my next question. How do I create a custom stamp from the scan of my handwritten signature?
    Thank you in advance,

    We want to roll out Adobe Reader v8 to all our users with a customized toolbar and hide the navigation pane to the left. Our Sys Admin looked into the Adobe Wizard tool and says she cannot locate any way we cano do this with that tool. She also contacted Adobe support to find out how this could be done and based on their recommendation, it would likely create a minor security breach as all users would need to have write access to the registry to make it work.
    Is there a workaround to this; perhaps rolling out a reg entry with the deployment to make a standard toolbar and view? I would think others would be interested in doing this and you could configure something using the wizard?? Any comments?
