Missing diagram components from component palette in Jdev11

I've been using JDeveloper 11 for a couple of months and today went to create a sequence diagram and found that I had no sequence components listed in the Component Palette. The only drop-down selection is "My Components" which is empty.
I tried this in Tech Preview 4 which I still have and the selection drop-down contains Sequence components such as Object Lifeline, Message, etc.
I'm using version 11.1.1.0.1 and it's the full Studio version/role that I'm running.
Any hints on what might be wrong with my setup?
Thanks,
Gary

I tested several approaches:
- closed and opened Jdeveloper several times
- rebooted the machine and then opened Jdeveloper
nothing worked
I managed to resolve the problem in the "heavy way".
I first uninstalled/reinstalled JDev 11.1.1.0.2 but nothing changed. It didn't ask me to import settings from previous version.
I tried again but this time I:
- uninstalled Jdeveloper
- removed the directory <JDEV_INSTALL_DIR>/system/system11.1.1.0.31.52.05 (moved it elsewhere)
- reinstalled Jdeveloper importing settings of my previous JDeveloper 11.1.1.0.1 which was into the directory <JDEV_INSTALL_DIR>/system/system11.1.1.0.31.51.88
I reopened my projects and everything is back to normal.. at least for DB diagram ans Sequence diagram (I haven't tested everything).
Since I haven't changed my settings since the upgrade, I haven't lose anything.
I even closed Jdeveloper and reopened it to check if it was still working fine and it was.
So this is one solution for people having the same problem.
I don't know if there is a "lighter" way to resolve the problem.

  • Extension which will provide Custom Soa components from component palette.

    I was asked to created an extension which will aid in helping the development faster and enable following standards strictly.
    So I have to create an extension which will add the following functionality.
    I have to add custom components in component palette which can be dragged dropped in composite editor similar to that of JMS Adapter extra.
    So Can you please look into the requirement and give me some pointers.
    Update: I was able to add a custom component to the component palette with the help cppageprovider example. But the component does nothing.
    I want to know how the drag and dropping is done.
    How to extend BPEL designer to add my own activities palette icon/item? I am stuck at exactly the same point as his.

    Hi,
    while it is JDeveloper owning the extension framework, unfortunately we do not own the composite editor. I'll try and forward your question Oracle internally, but I have no direct access to the developer of the SOA editor extension. I deally you also continue posting to the SOA forum

  • Missing ADF Core from Component window

    Hi,
    I'm using jdevstudio1013. In most cases, when I created a new application with template specified as ADF BC & JSF, ADF Core and other ADF related components simply didn't show on my component window for me to chose from. Sometimes it does show up after I exit Jdeveloper and launch it again. However, this doesn't work all the time.
    This surely is a bug. Can anyone tell me how I can work around it?
    Thanks.

    Hi, Frank,
    I finally get ADF core appeared again. But, some worser thing happened. All layout fields of all my jspx on design tab shrunk into two bearly visible square on the top-leftmost corner.
    my jdev version is 10.1.3.0.4.3673 on WinXP.
    What can I do now?

  • Missing editing components from my effects panel

    I just started using my Premiere Elements software on a Mac after having first used it on a PC.  I am trying to edit something and noticed that many of my keying effects are missing from the effects panel.  How do I find or restore them?  I need the keying effects for green and blue screen but all thosse are missing.  Please help.  Thanks!

    Although the operations of Premiere Elements Windows and Mac are very similar, there are differences.
    One of the differences is in the keying effects, such as Chroma Key, Green Screen Key, and Blue Screen Key. Many will steer you in the direction of Videomerge as a possible workaround. Not one of my favorites. But, you can check it out to see if it works for you.
    Please take a look at my blog post on the use of the Difference Matte as a possible replacement for the keying effects not present in Premiere Elements Mac. This blog post would apply to Premiere Elements 11 as well as 12.
    http://www.atr935.blogspot.com/2013/05/pe11-difference-matte-as-substitute-for.html
    As for other Premiere Elements Windows and Mac differences, I have reported some in another of my blog posts directed to PE11: Mac Information Round Up
    http://www.atr935.blogspot.com/2013/08/pe11-mac-information-round-up.html
    I am strictly an Elements Windows user. So, that blog post was one of my initial steps to get acquainted to Premiere Elements Mac.
    Please review.
    Thanks.

  • Page Type "Use Case" missing from Configure Component Palette

    Hello,
    According to "22.13.1.3 How to Work with Use Case Component Palette Templates" I should be able to create a new "Use Case" template as follows: From the drop-down list, choose Use Case, then click OK.
    This is not the case, I only have either "Java" or "CSS", there is no "Use Case" that I can see to select. For reference please see: http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E24382_01/user.1112/e17455/creating_diagrams.htm#OJDUG4615
    Does anyone have any idea how I can get "Use Case" to be an option?
    Build JDEVADF_11.1.2.1.0_GENERIC_110907.2314.6081
    Kind regards,
    Allan.

    Hi John,
    Thanks for the confirmation. Unfortunately at this point in time I don't have a Support login, would it be possible for you to post that on my behalf?
    I guess I'll try again in a later release, it's not critical functionality, but would have been nice to have.
    Kind regards,
    Allan.

  • Component Palette missing no matter what I do

    What should I do to get to see the Component Palette? I tried with an application, an applet, and there is no way I get to see the components palette!!!
    What am I missing?
    rgds
    Ronel

    Have you renamed your oracle_home directory? If so there is a bug filed, #2275188 and will be fixed in 9.0.3. If not,
    have you ever seen the component palette? The palette itself is context sensitive, so if you have a java file up, you should see all available javabeans in the palette.

  • Extended Swing Components into Custom Component Palette

    Hi
    As part of my swing application I have a number of GUI components created as an extension of a normal swing component.
    As example is below.
    package com.myapp
    import java.awt.Font;
    import javax.swing.JLabel;
    public class MLabel extends JLabel
    public MLabel()
    this.setFont(new Font("Tohoma",0,10));
    this.setFocusable(false);
    As you can see this simple sets some default attributes. How can I add this custom component into a palette for each access when using the GUI builder.
    I've created a new page in the palette, but am unable to add my components.
    Thanks for your help.
    Nick.

    Hi,
    - create a JAR file with your component(s) in it
    - Create a custom Library in JDeveloper (Tools--> Managed Libraries)
    - Select the JAR file
    - On the component palette (the page you created), select the properties option of the context menu
    - Your library now shows up in the drop down list to choose the component to add

  • DID YOU KNOW?? - ABOUT ADVANCED COMPONENTS IN THE PALETTE??

    <br>
    Hi All,
    DID YOU KNOW??
    The IDE ships with the following Advanced Components in the Palette.
    These advanced components are a set of JavaServer Page markup tags for advanced users. The components have no visual appearance and are useful to developers with experience in JSP and JavaServer Faces technologies.
    * Encoding
    * Faces Action Listener
    * Faces Converter
    * Faces Validator
    * Faces Value Change Listener
    * Faces Verbatim
    * Link
    * Load Bundle
    * Markup
    * Meta
    * Parameter
    * Script
    Lets look at MARKUP component in more detail.
    The MARKUP Component
    You can drag the Markup component Markup component icon from the Palette's Advanced category to the Visual Designer to create a standard HTML tag. The Markup component enables you to insert HTML elements into the JSP page in places that HTML is not permitted.
    When you drop this component on a page in the Visual Designer, you cannot see it on the page until you set the tag property. You can see it in the Outline window and you can select it there to edit its properties in the Properties window.
    Use the tag property to specify the type of HTML element to insert. For instance, to insert an <hr> tag, set the tag property to hr with no angle brackets and select the singleton property .
    To provide compliance with XHTML, if the HTML element you are inserting is a singleton element, you must specify the singleton property, which causes a trailing /> to be generated in the rendered HTML. For example, the <br> element is a singleton element that must be rendered as
    to make it XHTML compliant.
    If you want to specify HTML attributes in addition to id and style for the element you are inserting, use the extraAttributes property.

  • Af:panelPage not found in Component Palette

    Hi All,
    I am using JDeveloper 11.1.1.5.0. I am following a hands-on tutorial in book "Oracle JDeveloper for Forms and PLSQL developers" which is using Oracle JDeveloper 10g. It is using af:panelPage facet which is not available in JDeveloper 11g.
    Can someone guide me how to include it in component palette or there is some alternative available with different name?
    Any help will be highly appreciated.
    Thanks in advance
    Bilal

    component palette.. show ADF UI related components when you have ADF Faces. ADF Page Flow shuttled to the right in the project properties.. -> Technology Scope.. ADF ViewController project.. from New Gallery comes with these libraries handy...
    i am not sure about af:panelPage.. in 10g but if you want to use panel then you can have a look at
    af:panelHeader
    af:panelAccordion
    etc in jdev 11g for ADF UI components...

  • Failing to use objects in Component Palette in jsps

    I am using JDeveloper version 9.0.2 on Windows2000 with an Oracle 9i database on Solaris. I have been working through the tutorials and have stumbled across the following problem. I am able to create working BC4J forms and jsps, view objects, and application modules, however, when I open up a jsp in the editor and then open up my Component Palette, I am unable to add any BC4J components (for instance an applicationModule in the BC4J Connections tab). When I do so an empty popup error message appears. I have read through the release notes and the documentation, but have come up short. Does anyone know what I am doing wrong? Missing parameter somewhere? Thank you very much.
    Frank Klock

    Paolo, thank you so much. That was exactly the answer I was looking for. I'm still very new to this tool, so it is these little things that tend to hold me up. I deleted the palette.xml and restarted Jdeveloper so it would recreate the file.

  • Component Palette

    Does JDeveloper 10g have the provision to register
    custom schemas for the Component Palette?
    For example,
    1. Create a Component Palette page of type XML with
    Tools>Configure Palette.
    2. Add Components to the Component Palette from a
    custom schema.

    Deepak,
    Are you hoping to add pages to the Component Palette to aid in the editing of a custom XML language using the JDeveloper XML Editor? If so, and you have an XML Schema, all you should have to do is register it with JDeveloper via Tools .. Preferences .. XML Schemas, using "xml" as the extension. Then when you open a document that uses your schema, you should automatically have a component palette, plus get code insight, support in the Property Inspector, insertion menus (right-click in the Structure Pane), etc.
