Missing JServ parameters in OAS ?

Hi there,
Why doesn't the JServ in OAS support the ApJServEnvVar parameter ? Its supposed to work with JServ 1.1, but using it in the JServ that comes with OAS9i only produces an error message on startup (syntax error). Could it be that, although it reports itself as v1.1, it's not really so ? Perhaps it's an 'unofficial' v1.1 released by Oracle only ? It's hard to check, since Oracle in their wisdom, won't release the source.

Jon,
This forum is for questions about Oracle9iAS Portal specifially.
Since your question is more about JServ instead of Oracle9iAS Portal you will probably find more help in the Java Server Pages (JSP) forum.

  • Crystal Reports -  missing dynamic parameters when published to InfoView

    Hi all,
    I'm facing a problem when I publish Crystal Reports 2008 V1 which includes dynamic parameters on InfoView (either on BO EDGE 3.1 or Crystal Reports Server 2008 V1). Problem manifests itself in missing dinamic parameters - I get only static parameter panel and need to write in the value by myself... All other documents like Webi, Deski (on BO EDGE) works fine.
    I have tried to install all latest Service Pack's for Crystal Reports 2008 V1 but it didn't solve the problem. Btw, Crystal Reports 2008 V1 designer is installed on client machine.
    Here are the details of both installations:
    BO EDGE 3.1.
    OS: Windows Server 2003 SP2
    Repository database: MS SQL Server 2005
    CR Server 2008 V1
    OS: Windows Server 2003 SP2
    Repository database: MySQL
    Does anyone had a same problem?
    I will appreciate any help!
    Best regrads

    I had the same situation when I changed from a SQL server 2005 data source to a SQL server 2008 data source while using CR 2008.  Change printer option default in the report designer to use u201CNo Printer (optimize for screen display) and republish to InfoView.   Not sure why this would work, but it resolved the issue for us.

  • Missing Applet parameters in Mozilla (work on IE)

    I'm developing an applet which is invoked by the generalised auto plugin load HTML as recomended by sone. The applet (such as it is) runs on both IE and Mozila but, in the Mozilla case, none of my parameters seem to make it through despite sitting next to the plugin ones.
    I just get null from getParameter();
    BTW how do you persuage IE to load a new version of the applet these days? Used to be Alt-reload but this doesn't seem to do the job with the Sun plugin.

  • Importing pages, missing page parameters!

    I just exported data, applications and pages from one Portal instance to another. Both running release 2 on Linux. All my applications and pages seems to have come over, BUT the pages are missing the page parameter definitions!! Has anyone seen this before? Is it a bug? Is there a way to make it work?

    Jerry, it wasnt the "First Page is Different" thing, but in going to the layout inspector (which I didnt know about -- I'm normally a MS Word guy), I found the footer margin for the 8 page document was .31, and the Bottom Document margin was ..25 -- I changed it to Bottom=.75 and footer=.25 and it works fine...
    Thanks for setting me down the right track!

  • Missing SET parameters on 3750 switch via Telnet?

    Hello. When I telnet into my 3750, and then I ENABLE to get priviledge commands, I want to SET the SPANNING-TREE parameter.
    I type SET ? and only get one option
    MEMORY set memory paramters
    When I type SHOW ?, I do see the parameter to show the SPANNING-TREE information.
    Is there something else I need to enable?
    Thanks, for your help...Jake

    ok, I figured out my problem...I feel like such a newb...
    I had to get into the CONFIG mode then many more options were possible.
    I figured out how to set the spanning-tree, then immediately got PORT-SECURITY errors about 1 every second. I didn't easily see how to disable that feature from Telnet, but was able to from the Cisco Network Assistant and/or the Java based web interface.
    Once I turned off/disabled Port security for that port a SHOW RUNNING-CONFIG did not even display anything for that port. Guess that's to be expected, I would have preferred to see disabled, but finally, FINALLY, I can communicate with the network and internet.
    All this just for testing purposes and a slow migration to the new switches.

  • SharePoint 2013 Powerpivot Add-in Install Configuration - Missing Parameters

    Please verify below screen, it is missing two parameters as per the technet article -
    Missing Parameters:
    Passphrase: Enter a passphrase. If you are creating
    a new SharePoint farm, the passphrase is used whenever you add a server or application to the SharePoint farm. If the farm already exists, enter the passphrase that allows you to add a server application to the farm.
    PowerPivot Server for Excel Services: Type the name
    of an Analysis Services SharePoint mode server. In a single-server deployment, it is the same as the database server. [ServerName]\powerpivot
    Technet Article:
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj682085.aspx
    I have downloaded add-in from
    http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=35577 and installed it
    Then ran the powerpivot
    Not sure what I am missing. Could you please help?

    I am not sure what was missing so I uninstalled everything SharePoint and SQL instances.
    I followed below procedure and it worked. I am listing down the steps for your benefit and verification:
    1. SQL Server Suite Installation
    On "SQL Server Installation Center",
    click "Installation > New SQL Server stand-alone installation or add features to an existing installation".
    Refer to the image for selected features:
    2. Power Pivot Feature Installation on SQL Server:
    Setup role "SQL Server PowerPivot for SharePoint"
    I followed
    3. SharePoint Installation:
     a. Install ADOMD.NET
    SQL Server 2008 R2 Analysis Services ADOMD.NET
    http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=30440
    b. Pre-requisites installation
    c. Install using "Complete - User for Production environments." Option
         here you provide a phrase and make a note of it for powerpivot
    d. Now Install PowerPivot
    4. Configure Service Applications:
    Refer to the link where I published the document I prepared

  • Calling a stored procedure with default parameters

    Dear all,
    I am trying to call a stored procedure that has not all the parameters compulsory, and indeed, there are some I am not interested in. Therefore, I would like to call the stored procedure initializing only some of the parameters but if I miss some of them, I have an SQLException thrown. Is there any way to do that?
    Thanks
    Marie

    Hi
    One way to do it is ---
    By using Default Parameters you can miss few parameters while calling a procedure.
    =================================================================
    As the example below shows, you can initialize IN parameters to default values. That way, you can pass different numbers of actual parameters to a subprogram, accepting or overriding the default values as you please.
    Moreover, you can add new formal parameters without having to change every call to the subprogram.
    PROCEDURE create_dept (
    new_dname VARCHAR2 DEFAULT 'TEMP',
    new_loc VARCHAR2 DEFAULT 'TEMP') IS
    BEGIN
    INSERT INTO dept
    VALUES (deptno_seq.NEXTVAL, new_dname, new_loc);
    END;
    If an actual parameter is not passed, the default value of its corresponding formal parameter is used.
    Consider the following calls to create_dept:
    create_dept;
    create_dept('MARKETING');
    create_dept('MARKETING', 'NEW YORK');
    The first call passes no actual parameters, so both default values are used.
    The second call passes one actual parameter, so the default value for new_loc is used.
    The third call passes two actual parameters, so neither default value is used.
    Usually, you can use positional notation to override the default values of formal parameters.
    However, you cannot skip a formal parameter by leaving out its actual parameter.
    For example, the following call incorrectly associates the actual parameter 'NEW YORK' with the formal parameter new_dname:
    create_dept('NEW YORK'); -- incorrect
    You cannot solve the problem by leaving a placeholder for the actual parameter.
    For example, the following call is illegal:
    create_dept(, 'NEW YORK'); -- illegal
    In such cases, you must use named notation, as follows:
    create_dept(new_loc => 'NEW YORK');

  • Determine the required parameters in a VM/AssemblyInstance creation...

    Oracle Enterprise Manager Cloud Control's Cloud API documentation [12.1.0.2 EM with 12.1.0.4 Cloud Service Portal Plugin|http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E24628_01/doc.121/e28814/cloud_part5.htm#sthref1171] illustrates some examples on creating VM and Assembly service instances via POSTing to either a Zone or a ServiceTemplate resource.
    However, the documentation doesn't exactly specify nor indicate what are the attributes and/or "params" that ought to be included in such as request.
    In the current interpretation of service instance creation requests (thus, POST content-type of a service instance with the intention to create a new instance of a service), we have denoted it as a "CREATE" or "DEPLOYMENT" to better synchronized with current IT nomenclature.
    As part of the introspective nature of the Cloud API, the primary attributes/params of a "DEPLOYMENT" requests are included as part of the application/oracle.com.cloud.common.ServiceTemplate resource, which means each resource type extending the ServiceTemplate may choose to populate "deployment_params" attribute. Furthermore, for ServiceTemplate in the IaaS family (application/oracle.com.cloud.common.VMTemplate and application/oracle.com.cloud.common.AssemblyTemplate), we will always populate the "deployment_params" attribute.
    Here are some examples: (all paths are relative to the EM end point)

    One could think of some ways to use this information in its integration. In particular, when Enterprise Manager were upgraded to a newer version, additional optional parameters may be added or some existing parameters may no longer be needed. These changes may be automatically discovered via the above introspection.
    For example, a client may cache the deployment parameters and before POSTing to create a new service instance, compare the API's deployment parameters with the cached copy to determine whether there are additional "require"="true" parameters. Even though Enterprise Manager will include missing required parameters/attributes in its 400 response, by introspecting deployment_parameters, a client can determine, a priori, what may be needed.

    The following additional parameters may be specified (though all of them are optional) as part of the Assembly Instance creation request:
    "name" : "params.assembly_instance_name" ,
    "description" : "The name of the assembly instance" ,
    "type" : "STRING" ,
    "require" : "false" ,
    "sensitive" : "false"
    "name" : "params.request_name" ,
    "description" : "The request name to be tracked for the Assembly Instance creation" ,
    "type" : "STRING" ,
    "require" : "false" ,
    "sensitive" : "false"
    "name" : "params.request_description" ,
    "description" : "The request description to be tracked for the Assembly Instance creation" ,
    "type" : "STRING" ,
    "require" : "false" ,
    "sensitive" : "false"
    "name" : "params.vnc_password" ,
    "description" : "The VNC password for all the Virtual Machines in the assembly" ,
    "type" : "STRING" ,
    "require" : "false" ,
    "sensitive" : "true"
    "name" : "params.root_password" ,
    "description" : "The Root password for all the Virtual Machines in the assembly" ,
    "type" : "STRING" ,
    "require" : "false" ,
    "sensitive" : "true"
    "name" : "params.server_size" ,
    "description" : "The name of the server instance size for all the Virtual Machines in the assembly" ,
    "type" : "STRING" ,
    "require" : "false" ,
    "sensitive" : "false"
    "name" : "params.network_profile" ,
    "description" : "The id of the network profile for all the networks in all the Virtual Machines in the assembly" ,
    "type" : "STRING" ,
    "require" : "false" ,
    "sensitive" : "false"
    For example,
    "params":{
    "assembly_instance_name":"QA Assembly",
    "request_name":"Quarterly Testing 1",
    "request_description":"Here is the request to create an QA Assembly for Quarterly testing",
    "vnc_password":"secret",
    "root_password":"secret",
    "server_size":"Small",
    "network_profile":"oracle:defaultService:em:provisioning:1:netConfig:D7C43DB9969841F5E0431980578CB5C1"
    When both "deployment_plan" and "params" are specified during Assembly Instance creation request, the values in the "params" attribute would take precedent. For example,if "deployment_plan" contained various server size specifications for the assembly while "params.server_size" were specified to be "Small", all Virtual Machines created would be of size "Small" instead of the values specified in the "deployment_plan".

  • How to use parameters in oracle SQL script????

    Right now I am writing a SQL script to create a schema and build the objects of this schema....
    I use a .net winform program to run sqlplus to parse this sql script ...
    The problem is that the schema name and the tablespace's location and the sys password must be input by the user, so my SQL script should use these runtime input parameters instead of const parameters....
    So, how to use parameter in SQL script ...........
    Are there some example scripts in oracle home directory for me to refer to????

    Hi,

    what's the difference between variable , define, accept in sqlplus ???VARIABLE declares (but does not assign a value to) a bind variable. Unlike substitution variables, bind variables are passed to the back end to be compiled, and they can only be values in certain data types. You can not use a bind vaiable in place of an identifier, so to do something like
    CREATE USER  &1 ...a bind variable won't work.
    "DEFINE x = y" sets the substitution variable &x to have the value y. There is no user interaction (unless x or y happen to contain undefined substtiution variables).
    "DEFINE x" shiows the value of the substitution variable &x, or, if it is undefined, raises a SQL*Plus error. I use this feature below.
    ACCEPT sets a substitution variable with user interaction.
    And if the user miss some parameters in “sqlplus /nolog ssss.sql par1 par2 par5 par6”, how to use default value of the miss parameters??Don't you need a @ befiore the script name, e.g.
    sqlplus /nolog @ssss.sql par1 par2 par5 par6Sorry, I don't know of any good way to use default values.
    The foloowing works, but, as you can see, it's ugly.
    "DEFINE 1" display a message like
    DEFINE 1            = "par1" (CHAR)if &1 is defined; otherwise,it will display a SQL*Plus error message like
    SP2-035: symbol 1 is UNDEFINEDNotice that the former contains an '=' sign, but the latter does not.
    The best way I know to use default values is to run the DEFINE command, save the output to a filee, read the file, and see if it's an error message or not.
    So you can use a script like this:
    --     This is  DEFINE_DEFAULT.SQL
    SPOOL     got_define_txt.sql
    DEFINE     &dd_old
    SPOOL     OFF
    COLUMN     dd_new_col     NEW_VALUE     &dd_new
    WITH     got_define_txt     AS
         SELECT  q'[
              @got_define_txt
    ]'               AS define_txt
         FROM    dual
    SELECT     CASE
             WHEN  define_txt LIKE '%=%'
             THEN  REGEXP_REPLACE ( define_txt
                               , '.+"
    ([^"]*)
                         , '\1'
             ELSE  '&dd_default'
         END        AS dd_new_col
    FROM     got_define_txt
    {code}
    and start your real script, ssss.sql, something like this:
    {code}
    DEFINE          dd_new     = sv1
    DEFINE          dd_old     = 1
    DEFINE          dd_default     = FOO
    @DEFINE_DEFAULT
    DEFINE          dd_new     = sv2
    DEFINE          dd_old     = 2
    DEFINE          dd_default     = "Testing spaces in value"
    @DEFINE_DEFAULT
    {code}
    when this finishes running, the substitution variable &sv1 will either have the value you passed in &1 or, if you didn't pass anything, the default value you specified, that is FOO.
    Likewise, &sw2 will have the value you passed, or, if you didn't pass anything, the 23-character string 'Testing spaces in value'.
    Here's how it works:
    Define_default.sql puts the output of the "DEFINE x" command into a column, define_txt, in a query.  That query displays either the existing value of the substitution variable indicated by &dd_old or, if it is undefined, the default value you want to use, which is stored in the substitution variable &dd_default.  The substitution variable named in &dd_new is always set to something, but that something may be its existing value.
    Notice that the paramerters to define_default.sql must be passed as global varibales.
    Why didn't I just use arguments, so that we could simply say:
    {code}
    @DEFINE_DEFAULT  sv1  1  FOO
    {code}
    ?  Because that would set the substitution variables &1, &2 and &3, which are miost likely the very ones in which you're interested.
    I repeat: there must be a better way, but I'm sorry, I don't know what it is.
    I usually don't do the method above.  Instead, I always pass the required number of parameters, but I pass dummy or plce-holder values.
    For example, if I wanted to call ssss.sql, but use defulat vlaues for &1 and &3, then I would say something like:
    {code}
    @ssss  ?  par2  ?
    {code}
    and, inside ssss.sql, test to see if the values are the place holder '?', and, if so, replace them with some real default value.  The use has  to remember what the special place holder-value is, but does not need to know anything more, and only ssss.sql itself needs to change if the default values change. • BIP Report Parameters not visible from Dashboard in OBIEE 11.1.1.7.1

    Hello All,
    After upgrading to the OBIEE 11.1.1.7 we are facing this issue. In the earlier versions of 11g it was working fine.(11.1.1.6)
    When BIP reports are placed on dashboard as embedded content or as Link and opened from dashboard the BIP reports are missing the parameters section.where as the same report when opened directly from the catalog we are able to see the parameters.
    Is any one facing the same issue? Is there any option to show the parameters from dashboard or its natural behavior of 11.1.1.7 or a bug?
    Suggestions are highly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    V

    V
    so you are not able to see the parameter before running the report as embeded content or as a link ? do you want to show a link for the report in your dashboard ?
    i havent faced this issue YET but i believe that 11.1.1.7 has some issues/bugs with the parameter
    i have found a bug which is " dunno if you are facing it as well or not " but wheen you choose all values and apply parameter it just error out, i have opened an SR and after too many OWC they have told me its a bug.
    BTW have you applied the latest patch ?

  • How to populate value in parmetters

    Hi
    data: wdevent TYPE REF TO CL_WD_CUSTOM_EVENT.
    call method  onactionsearch( exporting  wdevent =  wdevent ).
    there are two fields in interface of cl_Wd_custom_Event .. . name  and  parameter

    data: wdevent TYPE REF TO CL_WD_CUSTOM_EVENT.
    call method onactionsearch( exporting wdevent = wdevent ).
    Well, I am not sure what you are trying to do here, but definitely this is not correct approach. WDEVENT object is passed implicitly to event handler of your custom event. Such events are used to communicate various controllers (including cross-component comunication if event is an component interface one).
    This simply means that if you have your event and you raise it in some method by fire_my_event method you pass only the parameters expected to this event. The handler expects then to receive this event wdevent object + all parameters you have passed along with it. If you miss these parameters in handler signature (statically unknown) you can detemine them during runtime (using wdevent object). So no explicit transfer of wdevent object should be ever done. You get this object implicitly added to handler method as an importing parameter. Whether you use it or not, depends on how you want to handle the event itself. Then you do the eveluation of its attributes parameters and name values but using corresponding method.
    I think this [link|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/eb/ed6f4169e25858e10000000a1550b0/frameset.htm] is what you need to go through to understand the concept entirely.

  • Error in uploading the PO while running Direct Input porgram RM06EEI0

    Hi all
    i have written one conversion program to upload PO. Here in the program i am populating the batch input structures MBEPOH and MBEPOI and finally writing it to the unix file.
    Finally when i execute the direct input program RM06EEI0
    using the logical filename , it gives the error as 'Net price should be greater than 0' .
    i have also checked the file in the unix directory , there the net price is getting populated correctly. Also i debugged the direct input program and found out that net price is getting passed correctly to FM ME_CREATE_PO_ITEM but somewhere  the KOMP   structure is not getting populated ,that is why net price becomes 0.
    Can anybody please tell whether there is some issue in writing the conversion program or i am missing some parameters to be passed in MBEPOH or MBEPOI, or what has to be done.
    Please help me , it is urgent .
    Thanks and Regards,
    Syed

    I have the same problem, could somebody help?
    Thanx, Marian

    Domain Name System (DNS) Resolver Parameters
    Two Domain Name System (DNS) resolver parameters (timeout and attempts) are set by default to low values when the operating system is installed. These low values may cause attempted network connections to an Oracle database to fail. If this happens, add or update the following entries to these minimum settings in the /etc/resolv.conf file on each server node:
    options attempts:5
    options timeout:15
    Red Hat Enterprise Linux AS/ES 3.0 and 4.0 and SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 8 and 9
    Verifying Host Names
    Use the following to verify host name settings:
    For Red Hat Enterprise Linux AS/ES 3.4 and 4.0:
    Verify that the /etc/hosts file is formatted as follows:
    127.0.0.1 localhost.localdomain
    <ip_address> <node_name>.<domain_name>
    Verify that the /etc/sysconfig/network file is formatted as follows:
    HOSTNAME=<node_name>.<domain_name>
    If the /etc/sysconfig/networking/profiles/default/network file exists, remove it.
    If you changed any files in the previous steps, restart the system.
    Modifying the Number of Open File Descriptors
    Open the /etc/security/limits.conf file and change the existing values for "hard" and "soft" parameters as follows. Restart the system after making changes.
    For Red Hat Enterprise Linux AS/ES 3.0, 4.0, and SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 9:
    hard nofile 65535
    soft nofile 4096
    Modifying Port Range Values
    Open the /etc/sysctl.conf file and change the value of net.ipv4.ip_local_port_range as follows. Restart the system after making changes.
    net.ipv4.ip_local_port_range = 10000 65000
    Please note that this range is a recommended range, and may need to be adjusted according to the specific needs of the user's environment in order to avoid port conflicts.
    Setting the Environment
    Verify that the host name setting is correct. The command should return a fully qualified host name. For example: <host_name>.<domain_name>.
    # hostname
    For the hugemem kernel, install rpm setarch-1.0-2 or higher. (For up, smp, and boot kernels, omit this step.) This step is not required for SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 8.
    # setarch i386
    Completing Preinstallation Tasks
    Complete these tasks after you set the environment variables and before you begin the installation steps described in Installing Oracle Applications.
    Unset the NLS_LANG environment variable, if it is defined prior to installation.
    Apply one of these OS library patches: 4198954 (for Red Hat 4.0) or 3006854 (for Red Hat 3.0). You can download these patches from OracleMetaLink.
    Restart your system.
    groupadd dba
    useradd -g dba appltest
    useradd -g dba oratest
    Completing Postinstallation Tasks
    After the installation is complete, perform the following tasks in addition to the ones described in Installing Oracle Applications:
    Apply patch 4632932 to all the application tiers, then re-source the applications environment file to refresh the environment variables. This patch is required for setting the values for LD_ASSUME_KERNEL and LD_PRELOAD.
    Should be missing kernel parameters and some other utilities like ar,make,gcc etc
    Thanks,
    SM

    Hi,
    Please can someone help me to get the Patch 4198954. Why don't you download it from MOS website? I believe no one is supposed to download the patch from MOS and send it to you by email as this violates Oracle support agreement policy.
