Missing/Offline

Ok, I am new to lightroom only have been playing with it for about a week or so, I did export pictures from Apenture(Mac) and even from my Sim card and edited some and made Cd's But now when I go in to click on a picture or should I say all my picture 1000, it is staying missing and offline. I don't have a clue what I did and how to fix it. It will not let me do anything. Pleas help

If you moved, renamed or deleted these photos (or the photos that contain them) outside of LR, you will see the "missing or offline" message. If the drive that the photos live on is disconnected, you will see this message. If (Windows only), the drive has changed letters, you will see this message.
Does any of this sound like the likely explanation?

Can I make the thumbnails in Lightroom bigger, when the pictures are missing/ offline?

Hello everybody,
I have a huge problem. There are some pictures from a friends wedding in lightroom who are missing/ offline. The problem is that the pictures aren't on my computer or memory card anymore and I already tried a data recovery with Disk Drill. Unfortunately the pictures (documents) which have been found by Disk Drill, are damaged and can't be opened. So the pictures are really gone.
But now I was looking in Lightroom (i've uploaded the pictures with Lightroom in the first place) and I see that the thumbnails are from a reasonable quality. That's why I am wondering if it's possible to larger the thumbnails without losing quality/ pixels. Of course I already tried a few things (SmillaEnlarger & some things in Photoshop), but unfortunately the pictures are still very bad.
Or is there any other way to get this pictures back? I still got the catalogus from Lightroom where the pictures where.

Bridge missing offline folders

I have my "Documents" folder redirected to a network share. When I'm out of the office, I still have access to my documents through the Windows offline Folders feature. So in Windows Explorer I can navigate to my Documents folder and all of my files are there. When I reconnect to the office network any changed documents are sync'd with the network version.
In Bridge CS4 and offline, I'm not able to navigate to my Documents but instead get an empty directory.

In CS3 you go to the filter tab and look in right upper corner. There is a double headed arrow which give you options to sort by different categories, including by filename.

All photos I imported in LR4 show as zero and missing/offline

I am new to LR4 . I imorted many pictures into LR. Thought doing correct but not. All folders on left are as dates which I did not want and show as zero photos contained or those with photos when clicked on show as missing. It shows the total nuber I imported but all also show as missing?

Tell us exactly what you did please.

Missing Offline Buddy List

Can someone tell me if I can get the "Offline Buddy" group list back? I don't know how it disapeared from my list of groups andwould like to get it back.

Go to the View menu in iChat.
Chose Show Off Line Buddies
Further down is an option to display those as a separate group.
The second become active when the first item arrowed is used.

How do I export photos after I have completed editing them? I got a pop up saying "Source is missing/offline"

I have just recently started using the Lightroom 5 trial. I have edited photos that I would like to export to use for Christmas cards but I am not having luck moving them out of Lightroom? Anyone else have this problem? I am using a Mac Pro and trying to save/export to an external hard drive.

If you moved the files or re-named them using Finder then Lightroom will know nothing about it and you will have broken the links in the database. Otherwise photos will show as off-line if the external hard disk containing your originals is not connected to the computer or is connected to a different port.
If you know where the photos are located it is simple enough to re-connect them. See this link:

Hello ppl,
My English is not verry good but I'll try to descripe my problem:
I use Lightroom for about 1 year, yesterdag I have re-installed my iMac and backupt the " Lightroom 2 Catalog.lrcat " and the " Lightroom 2 Catalog Previews.lrdata "
Also all my photo's who are stored in my Pictures folder on my iMac. They were sorted by Lightroom by date. So I have a folder 2009 and a folder 2010 with more folders with the exact date inside the year folder and in that folder the original RAW photo.
Now I have put the 2009 and the 2010 folder back to the same location as before re-install. Now I see all my photo's in LR like normal, but when I zoom in it says the file is missing/offline...
The only thing that I have changed is my Profile name. Before it was " iLucas " and now " Lucas " .. So maybe LR can't find the RAW foto's because it's looking for users/iLucas/pictures/YEAR-folder instead of users/Lucas/pictures/YEAR-folder..
I really want it back as it was before re-installing. Who can help me?

Offline message support for AIM gone?

Is it just me or did Apple remove offline message support for AIM (MobileMe, AppleID) Accounts? Until now I could send people, using an AIM/MobileMe Account ID in iChat like me, a message while they were offline. When they came back online later the message was delivered then, even if I were offline then. Now I only get a red icon with an exclamtion mark instead. If I open the information panel for an account, the summary about what the contact account is capable of is now also missing "offline messages" for AIM accounts. However this information is displayed for iMessage accounts.
Somebody else also experiencing this issue - or is it just me?

Apple are going to love me for this test.
I showed my Off Line AIM Buddies.
I selected one of the Apple test accounts for Video testing that happened to be Off line
No Exclamation mark or message that they do not accept Off Line IMs (Older @mac.com name)
A current/new iCloud @me.com name my well respond differently.
You could login here https://settings.aim.com/ with AIM, @mac.com and MobileMe issued @me.com names and set the Off Line Messaging response.
You cannot login here with iCloud issued ones (In iChat and Messages it requires a login to me.com and AIM to get the password and you cannot do the dual Login on that page)
It maybe the apple have arranged that all iCoud @me.com names have Off Line IMs turned Off.
This may cross over to all @me.com names (How are AIM going to tell the difference ?)

How to delete references to "Offline images"

Howdy,
I have about 200 "Offline" images in my library that have no association with an image in my managed library. Every time I open a project with one of these images in it, AP tries to build a thumbnail of a non-existant image and hangs up.
How do I get rid of these references to "Offline Images" .
When I try to reconnect to these images Aperture needs to be forced quit.
I think I must get rid of the references in my library to these missing "OffLine images".

Sounds like you have more than one issue - a referenced image simply being offline does not cause this behavior. You may want to try rebuilding your library? I have not had this happen to me ever (nor seen it in any of my many Aperture using associate's libraries)

I have light room 4 . I import edit and a day or 2 later they are missing.pls help me find them and

I have lightroom 4 . I import the images edit them and in a day or so the images are missing/offline. I'vge looked all over on my Mac trying to find them and have been unsuccessful. Please help me fid them and wht should I do to avoid this in the future? I have also tried to back these files on an extrenal drive and it is missing from theere also.

Recapture problem - Duplicate Item Filename

I forgot to choose Stereo Pair when capturing my clips in a project. FCP wont send audio clips to "Soundtrack Pro audio file project" if the clip is not captured as a Stereo Pair. If you try making an audio clip Stereo Pair in your sequence, it still wont work. Soundtrack Pro requires that your clip is captured as a Stereo Pair. I want to recapture my clips, but that is for some reason easier said than done.
I ctrl-clicked the clips in my browser, chose Make Offline, and then chose Move to trash. When I choose "Batch Capture" on my offline clips now, I get a window that says "Duplicate Item Filename". It says "A file in use by Final Cut has been found to use the specified filename. Enter a different filename and click Continue or choose one of the options listed below." The options that it lists are greyed out.
I found this problem as an archived thread here in the FCP forums, but the information there did not really help.
Should I just have removed the clips inside the Capture Scratch folder, instead of using the Make Offline feature?
I have emptied the trash, tried rebooting my Mac, repairing permissions, trashing my preferences. Nothing has helped. I am now trying to erase the free space on my media drive (which is as good as empty now).
Where is this filename information stored? Why does my FCP project think the offline clips still are on my media drive?

I have done some more testing now. I made a backup of my project file, before I tried the "Make Offline" feature, and I also have backups of the project file inside my autosave vault.
When opening my project backup file, I get the usual message about offline clips and reconnecting. Batch Capture works great when clips are "missing". I get no message about duplicating item filename or anything like that.
The problem now, is that if I want to modify the clip settings of the missing/offline clips (and make them Stereo Pair), I can't because the clips are not offline but missing. If I check the source column in the browser, I can see it still thinks the clips are supposed to be on my media drive. To be able to modify clip settings, I have to make the clip offline. Once I do that, modifyinig the clip settings works, but when I try to batch capture a clip, I get the message about duplicating the item filename again.
Man... this bugs me.
UPDATE:
Wow.... I think I found the problem. Batch Capturing after making the clips offline works fine. This "duplicate item filename" message only appears AFTER I have modified the clip settings, making it Stereo Pair instead of dual mono. How annoying! This was my main goal. Lost all presets and watermarks after catalog backup

I started having multiple issues with Lightroom 4 last night after I cleaned up my folders in the Finder. I already knew I would have to locate the missing/offline folders in Lightroom and when I linked them back up, a few images went way over-exposed on their own (They had already been completely edited and exported luckily.) I wasn't able to fix them because all of the history on those images went away when it happened and even when I removed it from the Library, they all re-imported with the over-exposure even though that's wasn't what the originals looked like.
My second issue happened after I backed up my catalog last night. The save presets box was checked but when I opened today, all of my user and purchased presets were gone and my watermarks were gone. It is like Lightroom went back to defaults except my images are all there with their history (except for the ones that I went over in the 1st paragraph.) I can re-add all of my purchased presets and watermarks but I don't know how to get my user presets back. And what did I do to cause all of this so I don't do it again?

The Songs - were they Bought from itunes? If not transfer purchases doesn't do anything. The songs would have to be on the library you sync'd with. The back up oesn't include Media (except photos taken with the ipad/iphone) and apps.

Crashing when trying to open a project / forgetting where media files are

I spent all day manually locating hundreds of missing 'offline media' in a project, saving as I went. Premier Elements crashed when this was complete, now I try to open the project after rebooting and it either cannot find them again or crashes when trying to open the project. Anyone got any clues as to how I can fix this?

What version of Premiere Elements are you using and on what computer operating system is it running?
How long has this issue existed?
Are you moving, deleting, renaming files and folders that go into a project after the project has been saved closed?
If you have source media stored on an external hard drive, determine if the external hard drive is malfunctioning, including if its drive letter
changing.
Lots of drill questions...
a. Running the program from a User Account with Administrative Privileges?
b. Latest version of QuickTime installed on your computer?
c. What are your computer resources and is your computer optimized?
d. What are the properties of your source media that are involved in this issue?
e. Where are the Scratch Disks directed and how much free hard drive space is at those locations?
f. Do the problems exist with and without the antivirus and firewall(s) disabled?
Let us start here and then we can decide what next.

Some packages really need documentation to be usable?

I have installed arch64 on my laptop yesterday and I have found that I like it really much. Anyway, I realized that I will have to do some work to download all the docs I need to use my computer as I usually use it (I usually play with -dev packages, like gtk(mm) and wxwidgets, and with math programs, like maxima). I will also have to download docs on how to configure my nvidia card to use twinview, even if I actually have no plan to use it. So, because I like arch and I want to give some ideas back, why not do a poll to see how many users are satisfied by arch's current policy (basically, rm -rf /usr/share/doc) and how many would like something different? Something different would be -doc packages for packages with huge documentation (for example gtk) and integrated READMEs for package with little documentation (for example the NVIDIA driver docs). Well.. lets see what people think about that..

I haven't used this one, never heard of it. When I was playing with Blender (perhaps the most non-trivial app!!), I recall downloading one tutorial, but again, I mostly read everything online. I just bookmarked it. My web browser is never closed that way.

Your point about this being package-dependent is valid, but I'd say that it will be hard to find a package in this day and age that doesn't post its docs online. And if it doesn't, I say that package is broken.
When I was on dialup, I loved the fact Arch didn't install docs for me, cause it saved on my downloading. The one document I couldn't live without back then was the Java 1.5 API... and it was a pain to get online. In that case, I did download the whole thing and store it offline, but for everything else, google gave me the docs I needed. Now that I have a super-fast always on connection, google gives me the docs I need completely painlessly. I've personally never missed offline documentation, and I appreciate my hard drive being clear.
That being said, there's nothing stopping a group of people from creating some documentation packages and either putting PKGBUILDs in AUR or creating their own repository. I just have to say it is in direct conflict with Arch's philosophy to include docs with the packaging. It was a fundamental part of Judd's initial design decision with the 0.1 release and before.
