Missing response message in Idoc - WS scenario

Hello
I 'm missing a response message in the follwing scenario:
Idoc-> XI -> Web service (SOAP)
A Matmas idoc is sent from R/3 to XI. In XI the Idoc is
mapped to a SOAP message and sent to a web service.
The Message Interface for the SOAP call is synchronous
and has a PushMaterialSoapOut and a PushMaterialSoapIn
messsage, which is defined in the WSDL from the
web service and imported into XI Repository.
Everything is working fine but I do not get the response
message. The web service has sent the response message. I
have traced the firewall logs and i have seen the
response.
What is wrong? Is it basically possible to have a
scenario like this?
The message must have arrived somewhere, since the web
server does not throw an exception. But where is it?
Thank you in advance
Thomas

Hello Stefan
>Scenarios with IDOCs are always async. Therefore you
>cannot have a response.
Ok, so I have to use BPM.
>How do you want to process the response? What should
>happen in the sender system?
I was thinking about an ALEAUD idoc which is sent back
to R/3. Therefor I have created an synchronous message
interface with the MATMAS idoc as outgoing message and an
ALEAUD as incoming message. Accordingly I have a message
mapping for the response message.
An other reaction to the response message could be to set
the message to status failed. But this is the next issue.
>In some scenarios you might use a BAPI instead of an
>IDOC for synchronous message processing, but this
>depends of many circumstance depending ofyour business
>requirement.
The process in SAP R/3 is fixed. To move to BAPI is not
an option.

My scenario is File to IDOC .. from the source I'm getting the data in a xml file and I'm loading it to SAP through IDOC.. scenario is working fine... but I want to send back the response message of IDOC posted successfully or if any Errors.
from the XI point  i know that through BPM we can achive this.. but in the SAP-R/3 side  how can we send the Response message.. is it need to use any other IDOC for capturing these messages and send it  back to the XI system or any other options please suggest me..
I wnat to send back the IDOC status  messages (Success or Failure ) . please suggest me .

    hi,
you have to just configure ale audit at the receiver side and a idoc adapter in XI.

  • SOAP sender Adapter - response message missing in adapter engine level

    Hi,
We have a synchronous scenario SOAP<-> P I <--->Proxy .Request comes from  web service get the response from ECC.
Issue reported that response message not reached the web service .
I am able to see the request & response messages in SXMB_MONI. To check the status in message monitoring through RWB synch message are not existing more than a day.
Is there any possibility of failure of messages at adapter engine level in this case? If so How can I get error log?
what are the settings required to make the synchronous messages available in RWB?
    Thanks in advance,
    Regards,
    Kartikeya

what are the settings required to make the synchronous messages available in RWB?
Set messaging.syncMessageRemover.removeBody = false in NWA / Visual Admin. Have a look at the below link for details -

  • No Response messages & computer shutting down, plus adapter driver missing (HP Pavilion m9400t)

My desktop computer (HP Pavilion m9400t, Vista 64-bit, SP2) has slowed to a grind in recent months, and programs keep locking up, giving me a "No Response" message. This started with IE 9 tabs, then MS Outlook, and now it's every program. I often reboot to get it going again, but run into the same problem in a few minutes.
I leave the computer on overnight to run automatic back-ups, and now, the last two nights, it has shut down and won't start up by pushing the power button. The light stays on under the power cord. I followed the instructions on HP.com to get it going again, and it starts back up. How do I get the computer working smoothly again?
I just ran a registry cleanup and cut back on start-up processes. Virus definitions are up to date. I ran Malwarebytes and deleted one threat that was quarantined. I also ran hardware diagnostics, which detected a Toshiba RNDIS Adapter that is missing a driver, but I can't find the driver on the HP site. The details under Device Manager say the adapter is at Port_#0002. Hub_#0001. What is this adapter--a USB port?--and where can I find the driver?
    Thanks for your help!

    Hello lcafarel,
    Let's do this.
    1. Unhook everything from your computer but the bare minimum. This is just the keyboard and mouse
    2. Unhook the internet modem if you are connected to a modem, if you are wireless, disable your wireless adapter.
    3. Put the computer in a clean boot state, starting only the bare minimum services for the computer to run
    a. Click start and then type msconfig.exe
    b. Under General tab choose the option Selective Startup
    c. Uncheck Load startup items
    d. Navigate to the Services tab
    e. Check Hide all Microsoft Services
    f. Choose disable all
    4. Reboot
    5. Monitor for 24 hours.
I would assume in this amount of time you would be able to affectively reproduce the issue of the computer locking up and shutting down.
If it continues to lock up then we can start looking at the computer on an OS level.
If it doesn't continue we have to start ruling things out.
First try plugging the internet back in, does the problem persist. Then start adding other peripherals back to the computer, e.g printers.
Continue to turn items on and add items to the computer until the lock ups and freezes occur. It's the best way to effectively isolate the cause.
As for the Adapter that is missing, it's something connected to your computer. Is it possible that you have a Toshiba modem that you are connected to for the internet?

  • JDBC- RFC- JDBC Synchronous scenario (Can't see the response message)

    Hello Experts,
I tried this step in creating a synchronous scenario by using steps found in this site -> [http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/XI/File-RFC-File%28Without%20BPM%29|http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/XI/File-RFC-File%28Without%20BPM%29] I just changes File to JDBC. But problem is I see the sent XML message in SXMB_MONI but to response message. I also can't see the Sender interface name for the response message when I tried to use F4 in the Interface Name portion.
Do someone encountered this before? Please help

    Hello,
I hope someone could guide me on how to set this up cause I only see the sent message but there's no response message in SXMB_MONI. Note that interface was successful, I just want to see what was sent by the response.

  • SOAP: response message contains an error XIAdapter/HTTP/ADAPTER.HTTP_EXCEPT

    Hi there,
I am trying to publish a file from SAP as web service using XI and SOAP Adapter.
I am using ABAP proxy to get the data into XI.
Designing and Configuration in XI has no problems because when i use File adapter the data is trasmitted to FTP server.
But when I used SOAP Reciever adapter I am getting following error in RWB
Delivery of the message to the application using connection SOAP_http://sap.com/xi/XI/System failed, due to: com.sap.aii.af.ra.ms.api.RecoverableException: SOAP: response message contains an error XIAdapter/HTTP/ADAPTER.HTTP_EXCEPTION - HTTP 500 Error during parsing of SOAP header.

What i am missing here? How should I solve this problem?
    Any help is appreciated,
    Thx,

Say there's a bapi/rfc that you want to call on an R/3 backend (e.g. 4.6c).  On it's own, the R/3 system cannot expose the rfc/bapi as a web service, but XI can.  So in this case, the scenario would be:
    WS client -> XI -> R/3
When XI "exposes" a web service, it is exposing a service for a receiving system (in the above example, the R/3 system).  XI itself does not provide or contain the service implementation.  When XI exposes a web service, it is always done via the <b>sender</b> soap adapter (i.e. if soap adapter is used).   Receiver soap adapter is used to call or consume an actual web service from an external application.

  • Soap Receiver Adapter - No Response Message

Hi, I've got the following scenario: Idoc - XI - Webservice. I've imported the WSDL from the .NET webservice and used the input and output messages in a syncronous interface.  I've setup a SOAP Receiver adapter with the Webservice details.  Everything is working fine when I call the webservice and the data is received 100% at the target system, but I am not getting ANY response back on XI.
    RECEIVER SOAP ADAPTER Audit LOG:
2008-01-24 16:41:57 Success SOAP: request message entering the adapter with user J2EE_GUEST
    2008-01-24 16:41:57 Success MP_LEAVE1
2008-01-24 16:41:57 Success The message was successfully delivered to the application using connection SOAP_http://sap.com/xi/XI/System.
2008-01-24 16:41:57 Success Acknowledgement creation triggered for type: AckNotSupported
2008-01-24 16:41:57 Success SOAP: completed the processing
2008-01-24 16:41:57 Success SOAP: continuing to response message 83638fb0-ca8a-11dc-b36c-00145eed9500
    2008-01-24 16:41:57 Success SOAP: sending a delivery ack ...

2008-01-24 16:41:57 Success The message status set to DLVD.
2008-01-24 16:41:57 Success Acknowledgement sent successfully for type: AckNotSupported
Has it got anything to do with the "AckNotSupported" type?  Is "AckNotSupported" the default setting for the receiver SOAP adapter?  If so, where do I change this setting?
When I call the webservice with the exact same input using a standalone tool, I get the response message back 100%.  Any help will be appreciated.
    Thanks
    Rudi

    Hey
you are confusing between a response and an acknowledgement.
response and acknowledgement and not one and the same thing.
response is basically used when you send some query to the receiver system and expect a set of value(s) for your query.for e.g sending a query to a Database(JDBC) or SAP system(RFC)
and acknowledgement is just a notification that the message was receiver by the receiver correctly,it does not returns you a set of value(s).
now coming to your question,ALEAUDIT IDOC is generated when an IDOC is posted, since in your case you are not posting and IDOC,instead your are sending it ,i m not sure if ALEAUDIT will be generated or not,one thing that will come to your rescue is that every receiver SOAP adapter expects a HTTP response(irrespective of you explicitly asking it or not).
a HTTP 200 means that messages were posted successfully, and HTTP 500 means application error, get this HTTP response and send it back to the SAP system, most probably you would need to use BPM for this.
    Thanx

  • IDoc- File scenario: can you explain thses acknowledgments?

    Hi,
I have an idoc->file scenario. in sxmb_moni I can see a green "OK" mark for my message in acknowldgment status column. when I dblclick the message, I can see my original message and 2 acknowldgment messages under this one in the top left.
1 acknowledgement is the OK one, the 2nd one is of type AckNotSupported.
When I dlbclick the OK one ack and click the idocoutbound, I can see:
      <SAP:TABNAM>EDI_DC40</SAP:TABNAM>
      <SAP:MANDT>450</SAP:MANDT>
      <SAP:DOCREL>700</SAP:DOCREL>
      <SAP:DOCNUM>0000000000257842</SAP:DOCNUM>
      <SAP:DIRECT>2</SAP:DIRECT>
      <SAP:IDOCTYP>ALEAUD01</SAP:IDOCTYP>
      <SAP:CIMTYP />
      <SAP:MESTYP>ALEAUD</SAP:MESTYP>
and when I dblclick the 2nd ack and IdocOutbound, I see:
      <SAP:MANDT>450</SAP:MANDT>
      <SAP:DOCREL>700</SAP:DOCREL>
      <SAP:DOCNUM>0000000000257862</SAP:DOCNUM>
      <SAP:DIRECT>2</SAP:DIRECT>
      <SAP:IDOCTYP>ALEAUD01</SAP:IDOCTYP>
      <SAP:CIMTYP />
      <SAP:MESTYP>ALEAUD</SAP:MESTYP>
      <SAP:MESCOD />
450 is the client of my IE, not the sender SAP system.
What should all this mean? What does each ack mean and why do I get 2 of them?
When I check the Idoc no. in XI, there is no such IDoc. Where are these Idocs sent from?
POINTS WILL BE ASSIGN FOR SURE FOR CORRECT ANSWER.
    Thanks, Olian

  • SOAP Receiver Response Message

I have setup the following scenario:
Create PO in EBP --> XI --> Webservice
In the Repository I have set up both the outbound and inbound message interfaces as Synchronous. The interface mapping has been setup to map both the request and response messages.
In the Directory I have set up the SOAP receiver adapter and the receiver/interface determination and receiver agreement for EBP as the sender system and the external webservice as the receiver party/service.
When I create a purchase order in EBP the webservice is called successfully and the PO gets created on the target system. The webservice returns a response message which I am expecting to see via SXMB_MONI but is not currently showing!! Is there some Directory configuration that I am missing?
    Any pointers would be appreciated.
    Regards
    Mark Briggs

    Hi Mark,
    >>>>n the Repository I have set up both the outbound and inbound message interfaces as Synchronous
is your scenario sync or async?
do the ID config with ID wizzard if you're not sure
    if will guide you
if you have a sync scenario you shoudl see and error
if you have no response withint the timeout
do you see that in the calling application or in the XI ?

  • Response message contains an error

    Hi Experts,
i have a idoc to soap scenario. i am able to send idoc to soap adapter. but at receiver communication channel am getting following error : response message contains an error XIServer/UNKNOWN/ADAPTER/_JAVA_EXCEPTION. Parsing ERROR.ORG.XML.SAXParselException. Premature end of file.
    Pls suggest

Hi Raja- It seems to be a data quality issue.
Check for the value @ 1447 position in the xml message that you are trying to send to web service..
may be a date filed/decimal value which is not in expected format.

  • Response message error in queue when using ABAP proxy

I am using an abap proxy for the first time, and some of the response messages are getting stuck in the sender's (R/3) inbound queue.  To resolve them, I have to either reset the status or execute the LUW.  Sometimes, this doesn't even work.
    Here is my "asynchronous" scenario:
    R/3 -> <proxy> -> PI -> <file adapter> -> File
The R/3 system that I'm using has not used PI before, so I'm thinking something is missing from the set-up on the R/3 side.  On the errors I finally do get to process, I get the following error in the SXMB_MONI on the sender (R/3) side (the PI SXMB_MONI shows successful).  Can someone help me understand what a response message is and how it is different from an acknowledgement?  Also, help me to understand what could be causing the response messages to get stuck in the R/3 queue.

Ultimate testing tool for services is soapUI (Freeware)
    http://www.soapui.org/
If you can invoke your service from soapUI and you receive a response, then PeopleSoft is working fine and the request handling in the calling system is incorrect.
Try downloading soapUI and try invoking your service (not that a fan of SendMaster).

  • Synchronous IDoc - SOAP scenario

    Hi all,
Our current scenario is like this: SAP (Idoc) -> XI -> SOAP (Idoc). The receiver system will reply with an ALEAUD Idoc as in: legacy (IDoc over SOAP) -> XI -> SAP IDoc).
We have a requirement to wait with sending the next IDoc from XI to receiver Web Service on legacy side until we get an ALEAUD IDoc back for the previous IDoc sent to the Web Service.
    How can we implement this?
    Is BPM necessary?
As far as I know you can only set the QoS for sender adapters, and the SAP Idoc scenarios are always asynchronous. But we can implement a synchronous send step in a BPM with ALEAUD as response message. This will solve our problem, correct?
Any other way? We would like to avoid using BPM.
Any help with this is highly appreciated!
    Br,
    Kenneth

    Thanks for your reply, Udo:)
I am currently building the BPM now.
So, you are saying that I cannot create an inbound sync MI with input message IDOC and response message ALEAUD?
We want to send ACC_GL_POSTING IDoc (or identical structure) to a Web Service and receive the ALEAUD from the legacy system through a Web Service published on XI. We want to relate these two so that the BPM finishes when it receives the ALEAUD, and can then send the next ACC_GL_POSTING IDoc.
I have created the following objects in repository:
MI_ACCGLPOSTING_ASY_ABS (in receive step in BPM)
MI_ACCGLPOSTING_ALEAUD_SYN_ABS (in send step in BPM)
MI_ACCGLPOSTING_ALEAUD_SYN_IN (used for receiver interface towards legacy SOAP adapter)
MI_ALEAUD_ASY_ABS (used for send step in BPM)
I believe no mappings are necessary since we are not doing any conversions.
Can you please confirm that this looks correct, and also provide what settings I need in Directory?
    Thanks a bunch!
    -Kenneth
