Missing ringtone in iphone 6 plus

I just bought the new iphone 6 plus on this past Saturday. Since my PC is too old to update to the latest version of iTunes, I can't sync my phone to it. So I bought my same ringtone through iTunes again. However, my phone shut down on me this morning, and when I switched it on again, my ringtone is gone. Can someone please help me?

  • Missing ringtones on iPhone

I have the original iPhone 3G. Back in May of 2011, I purchased 5 ringtones from my iTunes store. They were successfully loaded to my iPhone and assigned to the different contacts. After Dec of this year when I got my iPad 2 and sync it, all my purchased iTunes ringtones on my iPhone disappeared. They are not listed in my library  nor show as any purchase at all. I fortunately kept a email showing the purchases in my regular email and have a printed copy of them. How do I get the 5 paid for ringtones back on my phone?

They are not listed in my library
Connect the iPhone to your computer, launch iTunes.
Select the iPhone under Devices it the source list on the left.
In the window on the right you should see Summary / Info / Apps / Tones / Music etc.
Select Tones then click the Sync button bottom right side of the iTunes window.

  • Missing Storage Space on iPhone 6 Plus

I have an iPhone 6 Plus 16GB Verizon model and although I know this question has been asked a number of times, I can't seem to find an answer that actually makes sense to me so here goes.
The phone was bought new in January 2015 and a backup from my old iPhone 5 was loaded onto this phone.  Going through the process, iTunes showed the phone as having a capacity of 14.x GB of space before the backup was installed.  After the backup, Settings - General - About shows capacity as 11.8 GB as seen below.
So far so good.  I follow that the loss from the touted 16 GB down to 11.8 GB is due to formatting and iOS taking space.
Now the part I don't seem to understand.  I just connected the phone to iTunes and did a backup and iTunes shows the phone as having 6.45 GB of available space.  If I eject the phone and reconnect to iTunes, it still shows that there is 6.45 GB of available space, yet when I go to Settings - General - Usage, it states that 8.5 GB are used and 3.3 GB are available as seen below.
So, where is the missing 3.15 GB.  I clicked on Manage Storage and went through every item listed and added up all the space that these items are using and the total comes to 5.35 GB, yet it is saying  8.5 GB is used in the pic above.
Can someone please explain where the missing 3.15 GB can be found.  I have only been using the phone for about 3 months and I don't stream music or videos, etc  and I do NOT have iOS 8.3 sitting on my phone waiting to be installed.
I would greatly appreciate it if someone could give me a rational explanation as to where this hidden 3 GB resides and how I can reclaim it.
    Thanks.
    Dan

    Hello Dan,
I am having the exact same issue except mine might be a little worse. I restored my phone and "set up as new" about 3 times. I didn't have much to lose as far as "backup" was concerned so I just went ahead and wiped the whole phone clean. I am missing 10gb.
I Have accepted the fact that iOS takes 5.2GB of storage to run my phone (which is ridiculous). I have also added up all my used data in the "manage storage" portion in setting and it adds up to about 2gb. So basically I have about 10GB unaccounted for. I chatted with apple twice and talked to supervisors and they all tried to walk me through the same process of restoring, rebooting, clearing cache, resetting etc. nothing has worked. I've come to the conclusion that it's a faulty flash drive and we just need to return our phones for new ones. Nothing can be done.

  • Safari tumb nail missing in iphone 6 plus

Safari tumb nail missing in iphone 6 plus---how to reinstall or hidden somewhere

Just use Spotlight to locate it. By just touching the middle of home-display and pull down.
Safari can not be deleted or hidden, just be moved into other folders/displays.
After locating it just keep holding the finger on it until it moves and pull it to the place you want to have it.

  • IPhone 6 Plus and Lightning to SD Card Camera Reader - Missed Opportunity?

Apple definitely missed an opportunity to tighten up the DSLR/GoPro photography/video workflow with the iPhone 6 Plus.  Currently the only way to transfer images from a DSLR or GoPro camera is through an extremely slow WiFi/Bluetooth transfer process.  This is fine for someone is moving 1 or 2 images.  But, for a batch of 50 to 100, this approach is way too time consuming.  Android devices are way ahead of Apple in this regard and I'm fighting the urge to break-away from the iPhone once again, for something that is very solvable.
Enabling the the Lightning to SD Card Camera Reader to work with the new iPhone 6 Plus solves this workflow issue.
    Why not enable it?

I was gonna buy the 128GB iPhone 6+ until I read this. Now, nope. I may still have to get an iPhone because of the tons of apps I'm already invested in, but since the 6+ will be useless for photos, it'll be the midrange regular 6. Maybe.
Meanwhile, I'd love to get an Android device in about the same size as the 6+, storage and screen-wise, but don't need the cell capability. At 128GB it would make a great photo vault and something I could do some metadata entry on. Any suggestions?

  • Ringtone problems with iPhone 6 Plus after 8.1.1 update

After updating to 8.1.1 I noticed that my iPhone 6 Plus will not use any other ringtone no matter what is selected or assigned to a contact for phone calls. It always rings with the Apple "Opening" (Default) ringtone.

I Did the reset and it does not work. It will revert back to the original ringtone when I enter or leave a new wifi. Whenever I re purchase, I notice after it loads it will pop back up with the purchase price. Ugh!
But I've spoken with numerous people with the 6's and spoken with the Apple techs and it just looks like a bug that needs to be waited out. im sure with the next upgrade (which is hopefully sooner then later) the problem will be solved. So until then we get crappy ringtone options

Look on all you screens and inside all your folders.  If you swipe to the right and type Passbook into spotlight search, it will show the name of the folder to the right of Passbook if it is inside a folder.

  • Missing 1GB Bonus Data for Iphone 6 plus ordered on Sept 13

I ordered an Iphone 6 plus (I have confirmation e-mail as proof) on Sept 13. In the e-mail it says I will get 1GB promo data.
I received my Iphone 6 plus last week and still have not gotten my promo data. I called Verizon 3 days ago and the customer service rep tried telling me that I ordered on October 11th and that is why I won't get the promo data. I told him that is completely incorrect because I ordered on Sept 13 and I provided him proof with my order # and confirmation. He seemed completely stumped and said he would open a support ticket with his supervisor and someone would contact me by Monday in order to fix the issue.
It is now Tuesday and no one has contacted me so far. I am feeling very disappointed with the customer service I received so far.
I have a confirmation email as proof that I ordered the Iphone on sept 13. I have no idea why it shows up as Oct 11 in Verizon's system. Oct 11 is the day the Iphone was shipped to me but the order date is Sept 13.
Please tell me who I can forward this confirmation e-mail to and have Verizon give me my 1GB promo data as promised.

I am eager to get the promotion added to your account, eg99. Please be on the lookout for a direct message from me so  can gather some details from you.

The low battery screen here refer to the screen with black background with white battery icon and charger cable icon.
May I know anyone of you using iPhone 6 Plus has similar problem? I did a restore from my iPhone 4S backup before I rundown my battery to 0%. I am not sure if originally it was already behave this way or due to the phone restore.

When I upgraded this phone from Sprint, the sync was stopped by the tech and now I cannot enable wi-fi sync because the Sync now is grayed out. See image. SYNC BUTTON does not work.
I cannot get my music or tones.
Email keeps giving errors that I need to put in my passwords.
I cannot Backup my iPhone to iCloud either.
    What should I do?
How would I back up all my email contacts, text phone #s, get all of my prior apps, get all of my ringtones and music (not purchased through iTunes).... I NEED HELP!

It sounds like the driver for the iPhone wasn't installed properly after the update. Here is the article you're going to need to use: iPhone, iPad, or iPod not recognized in iTunes for Windows - Apple Support
It's likely that the first couple of steps aren't going to solve the problem. You're going to need to follow the steps under "Verify that the Apple Mobile USB Driver is Installed." You'll just need to re-install it.

  • Restoring from iPhone 5 to iPhone 6 Plus issue

Yesterday, I received my iPhone 6 Plus in the mail via AT&T.  Before I started with the new phone, I checked my current phone, iPhone 5, and it showed a iCloud backup from earlier that day.
I chose to use iTunes to backup my iPhone 5 and selected the 'Use Encrypted Backup' option because I wanted it to remember passwords and other things that an iCloud backup would not to make the transition easier.
After I started the backup, it took about 5 minutes to complete and then about 2 or so hours to copy all of the apps off my iPhone to my computer via USB cable.  I hadn't used iTunes to backup my iphone since my iPhone 3G with older iOS many years ago. Once the iCloud backup option was there, I used that.
So, once it copied all my apps and I was satisfied that the backup was complete, I turned on the iPhone 6 Plus.  Once it got to the spot where it asks if I want to set it up as a new phone or restore from an existing phone, I chose that and told it to restore from an iTunes backup. It prompted me to connect the cable and away it went. It did say that there was an update to 8.0.2, but I chose not to update at the time figuring it may cause issues, so I simply skipped that step planning on updating the iOS after I had my phone restored and ready to go.   It started the restore and the phone restarted twice and then came up to the "Welcome" screen to set it up. iTunes said it was going through a sync, which I expected, to copy over all my photos, ringtones, and apps that were backed up. However, the process seemed to stall on Step 6 of 6 "Waiting for changes to be applied."   I let it sit about 2.5 hours or so and there was no change in the message nor any indication that it was doing anything.  In the iPhone details in iTunes, I could see that it had all my screens set correctly and showed all the apps, but they were grayed out like they weren't there. Indeed, when looking at the phone, it had only the stock apps showing.
I figured something happened with the restore, so I wiped the phone and started over.  This time, I let it update to iOS 8.0.2 since my previous iPhone 5 backup was from iOS 8.0.2.  Though the same thing happened again where it stalled at Step 6 of 6 "Waiting for changes to be applied."  I again let it sit about 1.5 hours with no change at all.
So, for a third time, I wiped the phone and started over. I let it update to 8.0.2 and it did its thing with syncing.. It again seemed to stall at step 6 of 6 "Waiting for changes to be applied."  After 30 minutes with no indication of it doing anything, I clicked on the stop sync option. I saw all my phone screens with my app layout correct in iTunes. So, I hit the Sync button. this time, after getting to Step 6 of 6, it showed it was copying over photos from my computer, my ringtones, and then each app to my phone.  When the sync was completed, I disconnected the phone and everything looked right. I could connect to my iCloud account.. All my email accounts were set up and I didn't have to enter the password. My iMessages were there.  Everything looked good.
The only concern I have is that I never actually got a "Restore Complete" message.  I'm guessing its because I technically stopped the initial sync after the restore.   Or does it not show that and the restore was actually completed when it rebooted my phone twice and brought up the "Welcome" screen where you set a few of the options like wi-fi, location services, etc.   When I go into my iCloud settings in to the backups, there is no message there saying that a restore is in progress.  It did show that before when I looked when the previous attempts stalled at Step 6 of 6.
Is this something I should be concerned about or since everything looks to be working properly its good to go?

I am having the same issue!  I received my new iPhone 6 plus from atnt yesterday at 10am ... activated it and asked phone to restore from my sprint iPhone5s backup at 10:30 am.  It is now 2:17pm the next day and most of the apps that are incomplete are still incomplete right now.  What can I do to fix this or do I have to just wait?
