Missing underscores when compiling JSP

Hi all,
          I am running WebLogic 5.1 SP4 on RedHat Linux 6.2 and I have a problem
          when compiling my jsp pages.
          The problem is the package name created by the jsp engine. Say, I have a
          jsp page called index.jsp in a directory called public. The compiler
          ought to (I think) compile the page with the name public.index.java
          but it tries to compile it as public.index.java which isn't possible
          because the word 'public' is a reserved word in Java.
          So my question is:
          Is it possible to define the prefix of the name of the compiled jsp
          pages?
          And how do I do that?
          Thanks

          Hi,
          I am working on 4.5.1. Do we have any Service pack to solve the same underscore issue when i compile files with weblogic.jspc
          Thanks in advance

  • Warning - When Compiling .jsp pages under WEB-INF

    Created a directory jsp under WEB-INF and when i compile the jsp pages i get the following warning message
    Warning: package name web2d_inf._jsp does not match source file name C:\ProviderEnrollment\ProvEnrollView\classes\.jsps\_WEB_2d_INF\_jsp\_searchprovider.java
    Need help
    Thanks

    We have encountered this warning too.
    I'm not an Oracle employee, but it looks like there's a bug in JDev that preserves the case for the output directories but not for the package name that is supposed to correspond to the output directories.
    In any case, we haven't seen any runtime problems that seem to be related to this warning, so you may be safe to disregard it. It does foul up the build log though.
    Any JDev team members watching this topic are welcome to chime in with a confirmation and details of this apparent bug, as well as any workaround that might exist to avoid having the warning appear. Thanks!

  • ""." expected" error when compiling jsp page

    Hi all,
    I moved to develop all my applications from IBM WASD to JDeveloper but when I compile the projects in JDev, there's error ""." expected" for nearly all jsp pages. But these jsp pages for sure are working very well since almost of them are in production.
    Could you help me to get rid of this.
    Thanks in advance.

  • " ')' expected " Error when compile jsp that use useBean tag

    I'm using JDeveloper 10.1.3 and I have a page with a next jsp tag
    <jsp:useBean id="objectid" type="package.MyClass" scope="application"/>
    When I compile this JSP page, I got the error:
    ')' expected
    If the application is deployed in the J2EE container like Tomcat or OC4J, the page works fine.
    Is this a JDeveloper bug?? What Can I do?

    The JSP page works fine in OC4J 10.1.2, but in the OC4J 10.1.3 it throws the same error.
    The soruce code that the container generates is this:
    if ((objectid= (package.MyClass) pageContext.getAttribute( "objectid", PageContext.APPLICATION_SCOPE)) == null) {
    throw new InstantiationException("No se ha encontrado el bean "objectid" en el ámbito "application"");
    The bug consist in the generation of the servlet source code. The double quotation is the problem, for that, the compiler generates the error ')' expected...

  • Register 12 VerifyError exception when compiling jsp with that jsp tag!

              Hi everybody,
              We implemented a tag which is charged with a simple task like just "out.println"s,
              on production with WL5.1 SP11,jdk1.2.
              Then we got java.lang.VerifyError exception which is also denoted at Giuseppe Madonna's
              mail on ( http://newsgroups2.bea.com/cgi-bin/dnewsweb?cmd=article&group=weblogic.developer.interest.jsp&item=6834&utag=
              ) that "java.lang.VerifyError: Register 12 contains wrong type"
              To be able to find the inconsistency in class files denoted at VerifyError exception,
              we delete the tmp dir. of web app resides in a war.
              Also the related java beans used in jsp tag and related jsp, are in a jar on our
              classpath and .tld file resides in the .war file of our web application.
              But also, I must define that it is our first tag implemented after we migrate to
              the .war file after the web application directory structure of same application(that
              old dir. also deleted), I know it is silly but, is it possible that WL can now refer
              to something related our previous directory structure of our app. like that old .tld
              file or classes?
              Or may it be related with the difference between jdk versions on the test and the

  • Not enough space to compile JSP!

    Hi,
    I've installed WLS 7.0 on a Sun e250 (256MB RAM, 8GB HD). The server runs ok,
    console runs, web services run...
    But when I try to access the JSP of a given web app, the JSP can't compile. I
    get an IO.Exception: Not enough space.
    I've turned down the amount of memory being allocated to the JVM - initially it
    was ms32 mx200, now it's 32 and 64 respectively. This doesn't cure the problem
    however. Also, I've no other memory-hogging processes running.
    Surely my box is able enough to 7.0?
    Any ideas?

    Hi Roy.
    I found:
    If you receive the following error message received when compiling JSP files on
    a UNIX machine:
    failed: java.io.IOException: Not enough space
    try any or all of the following:
    Add more RAM if you have only 256M.
    Raise the file descriptor limit, for example:
    set rlim_fd_max = 4096
    set rlim_fd_cur = 1024
    Use the -native flag to use native threads when starting the JVM.
    from http://e-docs.bea.com/wls/docs61/notes/issues.html#1029041.
    Could you give a try?
    Thanks.

  • Pre-compiled JSPs when deploying an EAR under WebLogic 6.1 SP4

    Hello,
    We have sucessfully pre-compiled JSP pages when working with and
    deploying WAR files (WebLogic 6.1 SP4, Windows).
    However, we can't seem to make it work when deploying EAR files.
    Examing the "secret" unpacked directories after deployment doesn't
    seem to help.
    If we extract the WAR from the EAR and deploy it, everything is perfect.
    Any ideas? Anyone able to make this work? If so, could you share the
    output of
    jar -tf yourCoolEarFileThatWorks.ear
    as well as the same for the embedded WAR file?
    Thank you,
    Mike Leo

    Some followup information.
    We've changed the place where it looks for JSP classes using the
    "workingDir" parameter in weblogic.xml.
    And we also set "pageCheckSeconds" (also in weblogic.xml) to "-1".
    Now, everything in the base directory comes up without being recompiled.
    However, nothing in subfolders of the base directory is "picked up". Those
    pages are still being compiled when they are accessed.
    Any ideas welcome.

  • Some content missing when access JSP through UNIX

    Hi, everyone:
              I have a problem when I access JSP file from UNIX system. It is that I
              transfer one variable which will be show up from one page to next.
              Only one word can be displayed, the following words are missing. When
              I access this JSP file from Windows, there aren't problems. How can I
              do to fix it? Thanks for your hehp.

    Creating a new library may have been a mistake, deleting content takes no time at all.
    I can't fully think through what you have done at this time, too late and too many beers, but generally speaking if the original files making up your library or part of it is not available because your HD is missing, a sync will skip this content and not delete it from the tv, providing you have not removed the links for the missing content from itunes.

  • "No tag library could be found with this URI" error while compiling jsp

    I am using WebLogic Server 9.2 MP1, JDK 1.5.0_09, Struts 1.3.5
              I am pre-compiling jsp pages with wlappc ant task. However, I got following errors when a jsp page contains ant taglib:
              No tag library could be found with this URI. Possible causes could be that the URI is incorrect, or that there were errors during parsing of the .tld file.
              The jsp page looks like:
              <%@ taglib uri="http://struts.apache.org/tags-html" prefix="html" %>
              wlappc complains taglib could not be retrieved from this uri. Actually, since Struts 1.3.5, those ".tld" files are contained in strust-taglib-1.3.5.jar, folder META-INF/tld/. And I don't need to set anything in web.xml <tag-lib> tab anymore.
              All the jsp pages can be successfully compiled while being deployed to Server. So what am I missing? My build.xml file looks like:
                   <target name="compile-jsp">
                        <wlappc source="${src.dir}" output="${out.dir}"
                             keepgenerated="true" optimize="true" classpathref="wl_classpath"/>
                   </target>
              where "wl_classpath" contains all the struts related jar files, e.g. struts-core-1.3.5.jar, struts-taglib-1.3.5.jar, ...., and weblogic related jars, e.g. weblogic.jar.....
              I checked "beehive" samples coming with weblogic92, and found it pretty much did the same thing regarding build script and jsp files. So I am totally lost!
              Please help me out. Many thanks.
              Edited by jqian at 02/02/2007 10:24 AM

    Yes sorry, you're correct. The uri I mentioned is just 1.0.
    Do you have the "Oracle WebLogic Web App Extension" Facet for your web project? If not, try adding that and making sure that there is a weblogic.xml file created in the WEB-INF dir. The weblogic.xml file allows you to deploy usig a shared lib for JSTL. It should contain a library-ref element something like the following, with a version of 1.1.
    <wls:library-ref>
    <wls:library-name>jstl</wls:library-name>
    <wls:specification-version>1.1</wls:specification-version>
    <wls:exact-match>true</wls:exact-match>
    </wls:library-ref>

    If I look at my .m2 dir, I can see that it attempted to get the jar, but it wasn't able to grab it :

    Hi Billy,
    Try changing the URL from (http://repo.adobe.com/nexus/content/groups/public/) to (https://repo.adobe.com/nexus/content/groups/public/), i.e. add the https.
    That should do it. Let us know if it doesn't work.

  • Weblogic Recompiles Already Pre-compiled JSPs

              I have pre-compiled all the JSPs in our WebApp. Unfortunately, when I hit the
              JSP from the Browser, Weblogic is re-compiling it again. I must not be placing
              the compiled JSP (.class files) in the correct location. Or I could be missing
              a flag or something.
              I am using an exploded directory format and have also tried War file as well.

              - tried ./prodssl/WEB-INF/jsp_servlet/_account/__login.class
              - tried ./prodssl/WEB-INF/classfiles/__login.class
              Weblogic recompiles it into ....\wl_comp....\WEB-INF\_tmp_war_......\jsp_servlet\_account.

              I have changed the directory from classfiles to classes, but that doesn't seem
              to fix the problem. Is there anything else I need to do? Other parameters or
              changes to xml files?
              Since JSPs are compiled into Servlets, do I need to register them as such? I've
              tried registering the it as a servlet, but it doesn't seem to pick it up. Then
              again, I probably have the mapping incorrect or something; if that is what I need

  • HTTP500 error when loading jsp in SunOne (iPlanet) 6.1 SP2

    war file extracts and runs under iPlanet 6.0 SP7 on the same server and another server, however, I get the following errors in the error log when I attempt to load pages via the installation on SunOne (iPlanet) 6.1 SP2. Did 6.1 change how it compiles JSP pages or are there specific settings that need to be set in 6.1 that was not needed in 6.0?

  • JDeveloper's compiled JSP location in a .war file

    When I choose to build a .war file in JDeveloper 10.1.2 that contains the .JSP files, it sticks the compiled jsps in WEB-INF/classes/.jsps. To get the app server to properly recognize the precompiled JSPs, they need to be located in the WEB-INF/classes directory.
    How can I configure JDeveloper to put the compiled JSPs in WEB-INF/classes?

    JSPs in a web application are neither in WEB-INF/classes or WEB-INF/classes/.jsps directory.
    JSPs are in the top level directory.
    Servlets are in the WEB-INF/classes directory.

  • Compile jsp page

    Hi,
    I hope someone could help me there is a point i haven't undeerstood!
    I want to print data from a base to a jsp.
    So i have created my driver and a bean to access my base.
    I compile my bean and the driver without any pbm(they belong to a package).
    But i can't compile my jsp page, impossible to find my package when compiling!!
    There is my so simple code:
    <%@ page language="java" import="Beandb.FieldBean" %>
    <jsp:useBean scope="page" id="FieldBean" class="Fieldbean" type="FieldBean" />
    <%
    String lang=request.getParameter("lang");
    System.out.println("language selected: "+lang);
    %>
    <%
    FieldBean.connect();
    Resultset RS = FieldBean.getResults(lang);
    if (RS != null)
    RS.next();
    %>
    <HTML>
    <head>
         <title>WELCOME ON SOUTH EUROPE INTRANET</TITLE>
    </head>
         <body>
                   <%= RS.getDate(DATE_FIELD) %>
                   <%= RS.getString(TITLE_FIELD) %>
                   <%= RS.getString(CONTENT_FIELD) %>
         </body>
    </HTML>
    <% } %>
    there are some of my error messages(3 only!!!):
    org.apache.jasper.JasperException: Unable to compile class for JSP
    An error occurred at line: 2 in the jsp file: /welcome/welcome.jsp
    Generated servlet error:

    FieldBean = (FieldBean) pageContext.getAttribute("FieldBean", PageContext.PAGE_SCOPE);

    FieldBean = (FieldBean) java.beans.Beans.instantiate(this.getClass().getClassLoader(), "Fieldbean");
    ^

    I rename the id of the bean and change it too in my code.. But i still have a problem. Impossible to compile because of my package Beandb isn't find(message error: package Beandb does not exist.
    Whereas my Bean: FIeldBean belong to this package(i'm sure).
    I use tomcat, and there is my three:
    %hollisterpath%\welcome\welcome.jsp
    %hollisterpath%\WEB-INF\CLASSES\Beandb\FieldBean.class (compiled without any problem).
    I indicate in my classpath:
    %hollisterpath%\WEB-INF\CLASSES;%hollisterpath%\WEB-INF\CLASSES\Beandb;.\
    Does I have somewhere else to declare my package??
    Thanks for any response!!
