Missing Wikis?

Before the 10.6.4 update, I had several users who could not view their wikis under "wikis" or updates but can access them with a direct url. The update has been done but the problem remains. I did stop and restart teams as well as web. If i remove and re-add them from the wikis themselves, it works for a while but then reverts back. Here is the log of such a user logging in(minus the IP):

It's not showing the groups for this user in the log. I'm a total novice to OSX server but I feel like my ACL index database is deteriorating. Im trying to keep this server going till I can order the new Mac Pro. This problem probably started from having 100 users on a mac mini I'm assuming...
Thank you in advance for your help!

Okay so when reading about a user having wiki issues only with wikis that had comments. I decided to go to the permissions of one of the wiki groups and change comments from authenticated to anybody. pressed saved and then back to authenticated. The group came back under the wikis tab for all the users that had nothing there. The wiki access log is still showing this when they click on updates or wiki:
173.13.156.21 - unauthenticated [28/Jul/2010:19:23:59 -0700] "GET /collaboration-config/locStrings.js?v=WikiServerUI-200 HTTP/1.1" 200 45420 "http://173.13.xxx.xx/groups/" "Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; Intel Mac OS X 1064; en-us) AppleWebKit/533.16 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.0 Safari/533.16"
I think I may have just duck taped the problem if anyone has any further suggestions.

  • Missing wiki templates?

I've been trying to implement custom CSS templates for the Mac OS X server.
And I've read around the forum.
    1) I've tried removing the comment from the wireframe template, yet it still doesn't show up on the list.
    2) Many users talk about templates in /usr/share/wikid/lib/apple_templates . but that directory doesn't exist on our server mac.
    Any help is appreciated.

Hi Earl. I think you are mixing up our terminology for XSL "templates" and CSS "themes." If you just need to customize some CSS, you shouldn't change any templates. Try this:
    Look in:
    cd /Library/Application\ Support/Apple/WikiServer/Themes/
There is a directory for each theme. You can create your own themes here, or create copies of an existing theme directory. For example:
    sudo ditto -r float.green.banner.wikitheme/ mytheme.wikitheme
    sudo ditto wireframe.wikitheme/theme.plist mytheme.wikitheme/
Then edit the theme.plist file copied from the wireframe theme.
    1. Change the displayName from "Wireframe Theme" to "My Custom Theme".
    2. Change the name from "com.apple.wireframe" to your own unique ID.
    3. Change the "selectable" key to true (or remove the key/value pair).
    5. Save the file.
Restart the teams server and you should have your own theme to modify at will. Log in to your group as an admin, and change the theme to "My Custom Theme" on the group settings page.
This theme directory is where you would add additional CSS files, JavaScript files, or even custom XSLT if you're feeling frisky. You need to restart the teams server if you add new files, but once the files exist, changes to them should show up automatically.

  • Moving wiki from SL to Lion - how to move one wiki

As I was migrating the wikis to Lion (10.7.2) I sent out notification that I will delete un-used wikis (using the list of wikis that command line showed migrated) and to let me know which ones they need. I got about a dozen responses that their wiki was not on the list. When I asked for a link it would point to wiki.servername.org/groups/missingwiki  On the SL (10.6.8) server I see under groups the missingwiki, in fact all the missing ones are there. How do I move these missing wikis over to Lion server????

Not really. For starters, the database will be migrated to postgres, and probably be modified to suit the newer wiki server framework. In principle, it should be possible to continue using the SL wiki under Lion, or restore a SL Wiki implementation to run on Lion Server. It might be necessary to run on its own apache instance (using different ports), in order to avoid having the admin tool destroy legacy settings.

  • Wiki Images Missing with external address

    Hey Guys,
We have a issue with a wiki server.
The set up is a mac pro server with 2 partitions. The data partition holds all service data (this should not make any difference). The School is a Department of Education school so is very limited what can be done.
Their internal dns is schools.internal, however they have a external dns record which is wiki.atwellcollege.wa.edu.au. The department has set up a reverse proxy and routed it all through to their internal ip address
Since upgrading to mountain lion images won't display when accessing through the external address, even if they are on the school network. However if you use the internal dns name when at school all works fine.
The other thing I find strange is if you copy a image link and paste to a new web page it changes the url to put the domainname,%20url
    eg
This is a wiki page which I have made to be accessable with no password - https://wiki.atwellcollege.wa.edu.au/wiki/projects/xciteimagetest/xcite_image_te st.html
In safari if you right click on the blue question mark and copy image address. You get https://wiki.atwellcollege.wa.edu.au/wiki/files/download/2d891b4a-9127-44e8-b82b -602454b892f0
If you past this into a new page in safari it changes it to - https://wiki.atwellcollege.wa.edu.au,%20wiki.atwellcollege.wa.edu.au/wiki/files/ download/2d891b4a-9127-44e8-b82b-602454b892f0/Casper%20Admin.tiff
Then if you remove the first section "wiki.atwellcollege.wa.edu.au,%20" to leave just - https://wiki.atwellcollege.wa.edu.au/wiki/files/download/2d891b4a-9127-44e8-b82b -602454b892f0/Casper%20Admin.tiff
    The image works fine

Assuming all your images are missing, I also assume that all the folders in the Folders Panel are also missing (i.e. with the "?" mark)? In which case it should be a case of right-clicking (ctrl-clicking on Mac) on the top-level folder in the Folders Panel, choose "Find Missing Folder", then navigate to and select the correct folder on your hard drive. That will reconnect everything below, folders and files.
Before doing that, however, it might be sesible to try to figure out why this problem has occurred....if you were on Windows I'd speculate that either the external drive isn't connected, OR Windows has changed the drive letter (which can happen when other devices get connected). In your case, however, your drive is still apparently connected, and as the Mac system doesn't use drive letters, only names, I assume you haven't tried to change that name? What about the organisation of your picture folder hierarchy, have you been changing things outside Lightroom?

  • Insert Pictures from SharePoint option missing from Wiki Page

    Hi,
I have a team site, which was migrated from SP 2010 to 2013.
In the site pages, I have added a wiki page. In the ribbon - "Insert" - Picture - "From SharePoint" option is missing.
I have checked various sites, which say publishing feature should be enabled. But in another site (also a team site i can see the "From Sharepoint" option available).
How to get the "Insert" - Picture - "From SharePoint" option?
    Thanks

    Hi.
    Refer this link
Here is a thread about it on msdn
    The essence from the thread:
You'll need to activate SharePoint Server Publishing
It is not available in enhanced rich text but it is in Publishing HTML. Change your column type to Publishing html and it will work

  • Wiki home page missing graphics

When visiting the wiki main page, the four icons in the center of the page (the ones for My Documents, All Activity, Wikis and People) are missing. Safari reports that the graphic files are not found at their expected location of _wiki/coreclientbase/stylesheets/wikieditor/img/serverhome/serverhome_mydocumen ts.png (you can substitute the other icon names in at the end of that location.) I'm running OS X 10.9.5 and Server.app 3.2.1 on a Mac Mini server.
Has anybody seen this before and does anybody have any idea as to how to get the graphics to properly display? I've attached a screenshot for reference.
    Thanks,
    Steve

Actually, a cleaner approach to configure this work-around is to keep the redirect in a separate include config file just for the wiki webapp:
    sudo vim /Library/Server/Web/Config/apache2/other/wiki_redirect.conf
         RewriteEngine On
         RewriteRule ^/__wiki/(.*) /__collabd/$1 [R]
The (again as root) add the following line to the "includeFiles" array in "/Library/Server/Web/Config/apache2/webapps/com.apple.webapp.wiki.plist":
                            <string>/Library/Server/Web/Config/apache2/other/wiki_redirect.conf</string>
This means you need not to edit the original "httpd_corecollaboration_shared.conf" as suggested above.
Finally restart the the wiki service.

  • Wiki migrated from Snow Leopard to Mountain Lion missing some links

    Hi
I migrated the wiki instance running on my old Snow Leopard Sever to the new Mountain Lion server following the instructions here
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5082
All looked good, but then I find that some, not all,  of the links reference the old server instance and come up wtih 404's.
If I right click on the links that are broken and inspect them the results differ.
the outer html has a reference that looks like this
    <a class="cc-route-enabled" target="_blank" href="http://old.server/wiki/pages/G3J0z4r/Clint's_Index.html">Clint's Index</a>
a link that works looks like this
the outer reference is the same but the inner
    <a class="cc-route-enabled" href="/wiki/pages/Q4g545J/CMS_Teaching_Infrastructure_2012.html">CMS Teaching Infrastructure 2012</a>
The pages still exist. If you do a find for the link title you can find the page ok.
Is there a way to fix the broken links to remove the absolute paths to the old server?
    Cheers
    Jacqui

OK I've managed to retrive my folders by doing the following
1/ Open Finder and click on the Go Menu option
2/ Hold down the Alt key so that 'Library' apperas in the list of folders you can go to
3/ Select 'Library' and navigate to the Mail/Mailboxes folder
4/ Expand the tree and find your personal folders somewhere below that node (each personal folder will have its own .mbox extension)
5/ COPY the folders you want to some different location (eg your desktop). You need to do this as you won't be able to access the original location those files are in in the next couple of steps
6/Go to the mail App and choose File->Import Mailboxes...
7/ Select the 'Apple Mail' option from the 'Import From' section and hit continue
8/ Multiple select all the mailboxes you copied to your desktop in step 5/ above
9/ Now all your mailboxes will appear under an 'Import' node in your mail sidebar
10/ Breath a sigh of relief that you have managed to retrieve your precious personal folders!!!
Not sure why Apple is silent on this issues as obviously loads of people are expeiencing itand the fact that they now hide your library folder by default doesn't help one bit!!!
    Anyway hope this helps

  • Deleting wikis with missing About pages in Lion server.

I am new mac mini lion server owner.  Somehow I ended up with Wikis without  About Pages n Wiki server and am unable to delete those wikis even with my admin account.  When I go to those wikis I get a message "An unexpected error occurred.".  I see Action (gear) icon on the page but it only has "Settings" and "Help" links, but no option to delete the wiki even when logged in with an account that own the wiki.  Clicking on Settings does not take me there, but remains on the same page.   But I am able to go to settings pages of those wikis by manually changing the url to "/settings" after removing the html page of the wiki.
Can someone please help me on how to delete those wikis?  I searched in google but found no answers to this.  I even looked at Lion documentation but it has no helpful information for this case.  I am new to Mac OS, have been a PC user for all these years.  So I am new to even simple things on a Mac OS.  Please help.
    Thank you.

    Hi RajPad,
i have not yet found a commandline tool to remove pages. If you're familiar with SQL you can use a tool to connect to the postgresql database where the pages are stored.
I won't try to write a "howto connect to pgsql on lion" here because i know this has been answered already.
If youre connected to the database collabd and you have a page url like:
    http://my.lion.server/wiki/pages/P9c196z/somepage.html
Then your SQL to find the entity is:
    SELECT * FROM entity where tiny_id='P9c196z';
Note the uid from that result and find and remove all related entries in other tables there after removing this entity.
I have not excercised that myself because i don't have a system to screw
Make a Database dump prior to your actions and hope nobody is editing pages while you're at work.
If you have a plain SQL dump you could pick individual datasets from there to rebuild if something goes wrong. You'll only have to note what you changed to be able to revert.
    Just an idea ....
Make a copy of your page and compare both pages in database. If one is working and the other aint you should be able to find the difference.
    Good Luck
    Andreas

  • Mountain Lion Server Wiki pages either missing or links are broken.

I visited our wiki today to find a few links putting me back on the home page. Hovering over the link shows the full link but clicking it shoots me back out. It also appears that I cannot get those pages in my search results.

  • 3.2.1 Wiki Server - Content partial missing (10.9.5)

    Hello Everybody,
After updating to Server 3.2.1 the content of some Wiki pages is gone. The page is just empty. The "funny" thing is, the history function works. So clicking on the history button brings back one version before the actual one. Next funny thing is, not all pages are effected and the problem pages are not at one level. I have two on top level of the wiki, two one level below and very much again one level below. I do have a lot of pages with content left.
Any idea what to do to bring back the original actual content online?
    Best Regards
    Markus Mueller-Heidelberg

Some research into what server is sending to the web browser shows that there's clearly a bug!
    Check this out.
    ...server.example.com/wiki/projects/esc11/Earth_Science_11.html
When I show the page source in safari and pull down the XHRs folder.  Inside collabdproxy, when I do a search for the youtube link in question...
It happens to be "Why Earth Science." I can see the code.
Here's what Safari is getting from Server for this particular link.
    <div><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=jxbIJH4fTYo?target=\">Why Earth Science video clip<\/a><br><\/div>
On the displayed web page, safari is showing "Why Earth Science video clip" as a link that goes to https://www.youtube.com/watch
This broke with the update that I did yesterday.
Of course when the Earth science teacher showed me the problem, I though that he'd just created a new page and used the wrong link from youtube.  You know when you click the Share button in youtube there's the link that appears there.  (I was all defensive)
But on further investigation I found that ALL his pages that any has created that has a link with the ? in it appears to be shortened to before the question mark.
They ALL worked before yesterday, and he really likes his youtubes so there's a TON of them on his Wiki.
Anyways, I would LOVE to talk to an engineer at Apple and find out what they changed so I can change it back.
I wish I'd seen the code pre-update that server sends to clients.
Sadly I feel like this problem goes quite a ways beyond the help of the user community.  (challenge accepted?!)    =)
    Go team!

  • Wikis are missing all css and images!

    Hello,
I enabled the wikis today, but when I visit it:
    http://tinyurl.com/34maae
there are no images or styling.
    How can I fix this?
    Thanks,
    James

    James,
I fear your post is slightly confusing - clicking on the tinyurl gives a group listing that appears quite normal.
It's possible that you have achieved this by downloading and installing the images etc. by hand but this really isn't the way to go. (Alternatively you may have solved the problem in which case please ignore the rest of this post)
The collaboration folder (which contains javascript, css and image files) is normally at
    usr/share/collaboration
on your start up hard disc
and if it's NOT there I would worry about your system install.
If it IS there, a possible source of error is that the location of 'collaboration' is set as an alias in so that web pages can access it simply as 'http://www.website.com/collaboration'
So, I advise you check that you haven't amended this in some way.
Assuming that you have your server set up in Advanced Configuration you could do the following. If you have it as a Stardard or Workgroup config I fear I can't help you as I have no experience as to how the set the alias. Someone else should be able to advise. (Alternatively you COULD start editing the Apache files directly but I wouldn't advise it unless you feel happy doing that and any edit may well get overwritten anyway The relevant files are at etc/apache2/sites/)
Launch Server Admin, select web from the list of services in the left hand column and select the domain name from the list at the top - you may only have one.
Then select aliases from the horizontal list of radio buttons and see what it says for /collaboration, it should read
    Alias /collaboration /usr/share/collaboration
Beyond that I don't know what to say.
    Good luck

  • Missing info on arch's wiki?

Today I just had to do a simple fsck because of a few disk errors and noticed there aren't very much info on the matter on arch's wiki, for example I hooked up an empty external usb drive yesterday and figure I have no idea how to even partitioning it with linux tools, so I searched on arch's wiki and I found pages on ntfs, vfat, and how to partition a usb drive in vfat, etc, but not much about ext and other linux native file systems, fdisk is self explanatory but I had to google on "formatting" but to find out write permissions were set to root and I can't write to it, so I had to do more googling, to find a thread on ubuntu and it was filled with people suggesting using scripts, when the topic poster just needed a simple chmod for the solution, I used sudo thunar to set the permissions from there since chmod didn't do it for me and I just didn't have time to read through pages on chmod.
Those are examples of some really simple procedure but somehow I just couldn't find a lot info about them on arch's wiki and ending up spending hours looking at the wrong place, but somehow I did found a lot info on things like writing to ntfs, and other non native linux stuff, it didn't feel like I'm actually learning linux at all... but to learn windows all over again with a set of different tools.
Anyway a lot of the things could really be solved maybe through "man" on the command and reading through it, but a lot of times I don't really know if that is what I'm looking for, so my question is, is there a newbie guide on just simply maintaining linux, and not just "how-to" on installing programs and drivers?

If you take the time to read the man pages and learning how to do things properly whenever a problem comes up you'll learn how to maintain your system rather quickly.  The problem is that linux systems can be so vastly different that it is difficult to come up with a single centralized source of information about everything.  Also, the wiki is maintained by the users of Arch so if you find it lacking in any sense you can always set up an account and start improving it yourself

  • How Can I Export Our WIki in a CSV Format?

Victims of our own success: what was originally created as internal content on our private OS X Server wiki now is being requested for presentation on an externally hosted web service. Management wants this content to be accessible to constituents on the outside in a searchable database on a completely different service not administered by us on the inside.
The developer building the database has asked for this content to be exported in CSV for easy import into the new database: page title, tags (a.k.a. keywords, not to be confused with HTML formatting tags), and page content.
Sadly, according to the Wiki Server Admin Guide (p. 73), the Wiki service does not appear to store page content in any kind of database, but rather in separate files. Thus I can't see a way to provide the requested data short of copying and pasting content from each individual wiki page on the OS X Server.
Considering that we're talking about ~200 pages of content, I'd like to avoid a manual process of that kind. I've been through the official Wiki Server Admin Guide, but it offered no help for exporting content in the way I need.
I'm fairly comfortable with AppleScript, less so with shell/bash scripting. Since I'm trying to save time, I'm not sure that's my answer on this scale. Debugging a script (for me) might take longer than a simple copy/paste of 200 items (maybe I'm wrong).
Does anyone have a different way of looking at this I haven't thought of? Am I missing something?
    Thanks in advance,
    Axiom

Unfortunately, exporting the wiki data into a format that databases can understand is not a trivial process. Pages are stored as a collection of folders that contain the wiki text, the HTML for display, the change history, the comments, and the attachments.
In a default setup, the page folders are under /Library/Collaboration/Groups/{groupname}/wiki . All folders under Groups can only be viewed by using root access permissions.
For example, for a wiki page accessed by:
    http://yourserver.com/groups/general/wiki/abc12/mywikipage.html
    Under /Library/Collaboration/Groups/general/wiki
abc12.page - folder for wiki page
!- attachments - folder for attachments
!- images - folder for images
    ! page.html - html (probably a cache) for display
! page.plist - property list file with all notes on the
! revisions.db - SQLite database file that contains all the revisions.
You would need a script that runs as the _teamserver user to read every .page directory, parse the .plist files, and generate a SQL statement to preserve all the text, markup, and quotations. If you program really well, you could search for the URLs in every .plist file and record the embedded attachments and images, and copy them to another location.
For my first project, I parsed the .plist files just to get a map of the random page URL and the title. I also found out about "deleted" and "tombstoned" states, and elected to ignore those.
If I get a moment I'll write about that next.
