Mixer Brush is not applying color?

In CS6, I am trying to apply color to the Canvas with the Mixer Brush, though it is not working. I am using Wet, Heavy, Mix brush and I select Blue as my foreground color, the color is showing in the toolbox and up above in the options bar, though when I paint it just seems to smudge the colors on the canvas. What is wrong with my settings? Thanks.

I don't use the mixer brush often, but here are what some of the settings do:
Wet determines how much color is picked up from the canvas to load the brush, so a setting of 0 will only pick up what's in your "resovoir" or the color you picked.
Load is how much paint is picked up and how long that color will last in one stroke.  So if you set this at a high number, the loaded color will keep continuing painting, whil a low number will start to fade sooner.
Mix will only come on if there is some value other than 0 in wet, as it determines how much the brush will mix with the canvas.  So the high the number the more the brush will mix just the color on the canvas and not what's loaded into the brush.

  • CS5 - Mixer Brush - Wetness not working properly

    Hi,
    I'm using the trial version of Photoshop CS5 Extended.
    I'm very excited about the new Bristle Brushes and the Mixer Brush. I think, a nice job was done on these features. However, I think the "wetness" attribute of the Mixer brush is not working as it is intended. I would expect that low setting of wetness would cause the brush to interact less with the underlying color. At the moment, when set to 0% wetness, the Mixer Brush does not interact at all with the underlying color but at 1% wetness it fully interacts with the canvas. There is no perceivable difference between 1%, 50% or 100% wetness. I think this should be fixed in order to enable the full power of the Mixer Brush.
    Apart from that, the new brushes are just awesome. It is the most haptic and expressive brush engine I've ever used.
    Thanks,
    DanieL

    This seems to be a problem with the Bristle Brushes only and is quite annoying considering that the Bristle Brushes are practically made for the Mixer Brush.  Other brushes seem to use the Wetness slider just fine.  Here's an example:
    I hope Adobe fixes this in a patch.

  • Lines when using the mixer brush?

    PS said my hardware wasn't supported (not suprising, it's just a laptop from where I work), so this might be due to that. Though even things like the roate and larger mixer brush were running smoothly, so I'm not sure what's causing it.
    I was just playing with the mixer brush, with some random colors and settings (since it was running so nicely): http://img843.imageshack.us/img843/2549/mixerbrushcs6.jpg
    I put a green square arounf it the lines.
    Is anyone else getting this?

    What was the spacing on the brush? It looks like you came in from the edge with a wet brush and it mixed picked up paint with what is on the brush on the next applied tip.Try reducing spacing on your brush to around 3 or 4%, that should clear it up.

  • Colors are not applying properly

    First off, let me say that I am definitely a novice.  I'm mostly self taught- I did take some courses through the Art Institute of Pittsburgh but I had to drop out to take care of my family so I'm by no means an expert.  So forgive me if I sound like an idiot.
    Yesterday I was desiging images for my children and I was having difficulty with the colors- I would select a color from the color picker and a different shade/color would be applied to the text.  Hoping it was a RAM issue, I just restarted my computer and it resolved itself.  Easy enough.  I completed the designs and went about my day.
    Today, I'm working on a project for someone else and it's doing it again.  I've restarted the computer and I've reset settings on Illustrator to the default but neither of these things resolved the problem.
    In an attempt to make sure I wasn't going crazy, I took a screen shot of the text I'm attempting to color and the color picker box showing the color I was trying to choose.  The selected color was R 6 G 6 B 249.  I opened the image in paint and with the eyedropper tool selected the color that was actually applied and that color is R 61 G 93 B 171- so clearly not the same color at all.  I then opened it in Photoshop to determine if it was an Adobe problem or just an Illustrator problem.  With the eyedropper tool, I got the same results that I did in paint.  Illustrator is definitely not applying the colors correctly.
    Being a novice, I have no idea what to do now and as I'm using CS5, the live chat rep sent me here to seek help.  I've been using these programs for years and have never encountered this problem so I'm baffled and I'd appreciate any help.

    I don't know if I'm efficiently explaining the problem here.
    I think you can try explaining it better by giving some additional information.
    What is the color space of the document as reported on this menu at the bottom left of your document window?
    What is the name of the color space (profile) listed after Monitor RGB on the RGB menu in the Working Spaces section of the Color Settings?
    What are the color values of the color you have trouble with? Please provide the CMYK or RGB values depending on the color mode of the document.
    Please, provide a screen shot in png file format so the colors can be measured accurately without being altered by the jpg compression.
    Also please include in the screen shot the Color panel with a slider set to the color model of the document.
    Also to make sure that the color in the document is not altered by any other means, like blending modes, multiple fills appearance, masks, etc. create a new document with a simple box with the same color values and check if the colors match.

  • Why is the background color not applied in one case?

    Hi,
    I'm using RH 7 and WebHelp.
    I apply a TableHeading style to the first row of my tables. The TableHeading style is supposed to fill the cells of the first row with a background color of blue, and the text is in white. It works fine except for one table. I think TableHeading style was not applied in the Word document when I imported this topic. I tried to apply the TableHeading style to the first row, and it says it is applied in the HTML. But, the background blue does not fill the cells.
    Here is what I am trying to achieve:
    Here is my problem table:
    I can see in the HTML that the background color is not present in the code. Here is the code for the example that is correct:
    <p class=TableHeading>Chapter</td>
    <td style="border-left: none; border-right: solid #000000 1.0px; border-top: solid #000000 1.0px; border-bottom: solid #000000 1.0px;
              width: 279.4pt; padding: 0in 5.4pt 0in 5.4pt; background-color: #003399;"
    bgcolor=#003399 width=279.4pt>
    <p class=TableHeading>Description</td></tr>
    <tr><td style="x-cell-content-align: top; border-left: solid #000000 1.0px; border-right: solid #000000 1.0px; border-top: none;
                       border-bottom: solid #000000 1.0px; width: 182.85pt; padding: 0in 5.4pt 0in 5.4pt;
                       padding-left: 0px; padding-top: 0px; padding-right: 0px;
                       padding-bottom: 0px;" valign=top width=182.9pt>
    Here is the code for my problem table:
    <p class=TableHeading>Activity</td>
    <td style="border-left: none; border-right: solid #000000 1.0px; border-top: solid #000000 1.0px; border-bottom: solid #000000 1.0px;
              width: 168.0pt; padding: 0in 5.4pt 0in 5.4pt;" width=168pt>
    <p class=TableHeading>Keyboard Shortcut</td></tr>
    <tr style="x-cell-content-align: center;" valign=middle>
    <td style="width: 374px; x-cell-content-align: top; border-left: solid #000000 1.0px; border-right: solid #000000 1.0px;
              border-top: none; border-bottom: solid #000000 1.0px; padding: 0in 5.4pt 0in 5.4pt;
              padding-left: 0px; padding-top: 0px; padding-right: 0px;
              padding-bottom: 0px;" valign=top width=374px>
    Here is the code from the CSS:
    p.TableHeading {
    background-color: #003399;
    punctuation-wrap: simple;
    text-autospace: none;
    font-size: 10.0pt;
    font-weight: bold;
    color: #ffffff;
    font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;
    margin-left: 3pt;
    margin-right: 3.0pt;
    line-height: 120%;
    margin-top: 0pt;
    margin-bottom: 0pt;
    LI.p-TableHeading {
    punctuation-wrap: simple;
    text-autospace: none;
    font-size: 10.0pt;
    font-weight: bold;
    color: #ffffff;
    font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;
    line-height: 120%;
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks,
    Julie
     I don't understand why the TableHeading style is not applying the background color for the one table. I'm guessing I could just add it to the code using the HTML editor. However, I wasn't sure if that was the best way to fix this problem or if I would create another problem.

    Hi Willam,
    Thanks for your answer, and I will go ahead and add the background color to the problem table.
    However, I am still puzzled as to why the background color is applied to the cells in the other tables and not the problem table. I'm not sure what I did to cause the problem - how I applied the TableHeading to the table cell in one case and not the other. Any ideas how I can avoid this problem?
    I will not use the Word documents going forward and will only make changes with the RH editor.
    Thanks again,
    Julie

  • Gradient color is not applying to the shape

    When I am applying the gradient color to a black and white gradient pattern, the rectangle either fills in completely with the color I choose (not applying the gradient) or the shape reverts to a black and white color

    As always we need:
    Information on OS
    Information on AI versin
    Information on what you have done before the problem occured
    A descriptive screen shot, including the selected object, the open layer panel and the appearance panel
    Otherwise we will not know where your problem is.

  • Apply color correction to the sequence, not clip

    Is it possible to select all clips in the sequence, then apply color corrector, or brightness/contrast filter _with a specific setting_ to the whole sequence?
    Currently when I select all in the sequence, apply a correction through effects > video ... etc, then change a setting, it will only change the setting one clip from the sequence.
    I know it is possible to work around this and do it with one clip and then paste attributes, but if there's another way, please let me know.
    Thank you!

    Michel,
    That's a great idea, why didn't I think of that? Thank you for your fast reply, I got it near instantly on the iPhone and was laughing at how simple and smart a solution you had!
    Cheers,

  • How can I tell which custom brush I have applied to a line?

    I've created some custom brushes in Illustrator CC 2014 and applied them to various lines.
    Is it possible to know which brush I've applied to a line (like you can see what color a line is by viewing the Color or Swatches Palette). When I activate the stroke the Brushes Palette just sits there, not highlighting anything.

    artracer,
    Look at Stroke in the Appearance palette.

  • Text not printing or PDFing. Non-printing is not applied. Help?

    I have a logo. The top is on a path applied to an oval. Same with the bottom. In the middle is an ampersand (&). When I try to print, only the ampersand prints. I've tried printing to 2 different machines. I also tried saving it as a PDF but I lose everything except the ampersand in the middle. Everything is colored black, so there are no weird colors going on. Non-printing is not applied to anything. Any thoughts? I can send the file to somebody if they want to check it out.
    ID CS 3
    Thanks,
    Chris

    Sorry for the delay. Spent some time looking for the font becasue I'm on Windows.
    I opened it first in CS5, and after font substitution it exported fine, so I figured maybe it was a font problem on your end, but just to be safe I opened it in CS3 to check. Same problem here that you have on your end.
    Good news, though. I exported to .inx and opened that. That page opened at 11 inches high, which may be part of the problem, but after resizing, it exported correctly. This is a pretty good inidcator of some minor corruption that is fixable by the export. See Remove minor corruption by exporting

  • Why is my CSS style not applied to my HTMLB page ?

    Hello !
    I'm using a css file to define the layout of my htmlb page... but the layout is not applied.
    When I specify the layout CSS in a common html page the layout is applied but not for an htmlb page.
    Could someone let me know where I'm wrong ?
    EG :
    My htmlb page :
    <%@page language="abap" %>
    <%@extension name="htmlb" prefix="htmlb" %>
    <htmlb:content>
      <htmlb:page title=" " >
          <html>
                <head>
                <link href="style.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css">
                </head>
                <body>
                text1
        <htmlb:form>
            text2
        </htmlb:form>
                </body>
          </html>
      </htmlb:page>
    </htmlb:content>
    My css file style.css :
    <%@page language="abap"%>
    body {
        background-color: #990000;
        font-family: Verdana;
        font-size: 32x;
        line-height: 32px;
        color: #666666;
    As a result, I have a blank page (and not red) with the text "text1" and "text2" written.

    This code you have is unfortunately completely bogus. It is just not going to work. Writing HTMLB tags are easy. It takes but minutes to make the magic appear in the browser. But, you have also have to understand a little about what is happening.
    At a very first, I would like to recommend this link: <a href="/people/brian.mckellar/blog/2004/06/11/bsp-trouble-shooting-getting-help">Getting Help</a>. You are specifically interested in the section that shows you how to get help about specific tags.
    As a next step, look at the help for the <htmlb:page> tag. It is the first important one. See how it is a collection of other <htmlb:document*> tags.
    Thereafter, look at SBSPEXT_HTMLB/document.BSP for an example on how to replace the <htmlb:page> sequence in your application.
    Once this is done, place you "<link ...>" sequence directly after the <htmlb:headInclude> tag that you have now on your page.
    Compile, test, assign 10 points.

  • Custom settings of Edit-in Preset not applied to image in PS

    I am having a problem with my custom made EDIT-IN Preset. While clicking on it launches the image (dng, psd or tiff) in PS, the custom settings of the preset (in my case: 8bit, sRGB) are not applied to the image. Instead the image is opened in PS with the default settings as specified in the Preference menu (in my case: 16bit, ProPhoto RGB).
    I am running LR2.2 & PS CS3 (10.0.1) on a 64bit Windows Vista Business machine.
    The settings of the preset are:
    Application: Photoshop.exe
    File Format: TIFF
    Color Space: sRGB
    Bit Depth: 8 Bits
    Resolution: 240
    Compression: None
    By the way, this problem occurs also on my 32bit XP-Pro Computer.
    Any helpful suggestions?
    Mike

    Hi,
    I think you are running same problem as described in the following article:
    http://support2.microsoft.com/kb/2894518
    Updates trigger multiple boot is caused TS failing.

  • Suggestion: Mixer brush presets needs to be more informative.

    Suggestion: Mixer brush´s Preset previews should have a text description of the brush behavior.
    Now the preview of the brush stroke don´t say nothing about how the brush works.
    Does it smear the paint underneath or not? It is just a blender brush?...
    I know I can see the brush parameters in the brush panel but reading those require too much effort for a good work flow,
    and reading the brush name in the flying label is not quick enough.
    Maybe you can enhance the thumnail preview, but if not, allowing adding text should be enough.
    Thank you.
    (In my opinion, of course)

    Thanks for the suggestion! We will put it on our list to evaluate.

  • Formatting Critical Tasks (Text in Table) not applying across all columns

    All,
    I am working on creating a schedule from multiple smaller schedules.  A few of these schedules had manual text formatting which I overwrote manually (selecting cells and changing text color).  Now when attempting to apply text styles to the critical
    path the text styles will not apply to all Critical tasks or all columns visible.  I'm guessing I caused problems by manually changing the text color but I don't know how to fix it.  Please help!

    All of the manual text formatting and re-formatting in cells has changed the default formatting in the Gantt Chart View.
    Rather than fiddling with it, the best way is to recover the original formatting of the Gantt Chart View, and then if you want to modify it make a copy of that view, name the copy something like "AA Gantt Chart 01", and then format the text and bar
    styles (not individual bits and pieces of cells and bars) of your new view. Include the "AA" or an underscore or something similar as part of the name so that your new views always go to the top of the list and you can always distinguish them
    from the original ones that came out of the box.
    Use the organiser to recover the original Gantt Chart View by pulling the Gantt Chart View from the global template. Now, MSP will not allow you to over-write the Gantt Chart View in your file while that view is the active view, so you will have to switch
    to another view while you do it. Switch to the Tracking Gantt View, then File, Organiser. You see all of the clean stuff on the left hand side and all of the stuff in your file on the right.
    In the future, leave the original views as they are. Also, leave the original tables, filters, groups, reports etc alone and if you need modified/customised versions of them make copies and change the copies. This is just good housekeeping. Also, do not
    copy modified/customised views from your file into the global template ((or you will poison the well).
    Hope this helps. Please mark as answer.

  • Default Domain Policy Not Applying Settings to Servers or Clients

    I have 2008 R2 DC's with a functioning level of 2003.  Our domain servers are a mix of 2003, 2008, 2008 R2, and 2012 and our clients are a mix of Windows 7 Pro and Windows 8.1 Pro.
    I recently made a change to the Default Domain Policy located at Computer Configuration -> Policies -> Windows Settings -> Security Settings -> Local Policies -> Security Options
    For the Security Policy setting called: Network security: Configure encryption types allowed for Kerberos
    The change was to enable DES because of a specific need that I have with an application that I work with but enabling DES and leaving the other options such AES unselected caused other applications to not work right.  I decided to revert the changes
    back to "Not Defined" but those changes did not reflect on the servers even after running the gpupdate /force command.
    In order to keep the application working that broke, we enabled all of the encryption levels such as DES, AES, etc. on the server that's running the application via it's Local Security Policy as a temporary fix.
    Now, I want to make sure all servers receive the settings from the Default Domain Policy and have their Local Security Policies reflect the "Not Defined" setting but it's not applying.  It seems like they worked when I first applied them but
    when I try to remove them it does not work.
    If I change the setting directly on the Local Security Policy on the server or clients it shows "No minimum" instead of "Not Defined" which I've heard can be fixed by identifying the registry entry for that setting and deleting it...so
    help with the location and how to identify that key would also be helpful.
    My goal is not to manually have to change servers and clients to revert back to their default settings...I want the Domain policy to apply and override the servers and client's Local Security Policy.
    Any help with this would be greatly appreciated and thank you in advance.

    For the Security Policy setting called: Network security: Configure encryption types allowed for Kerberos
    refer:
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj852180(v=ws.10).aspx
    We needed to implement a similar scenario a few years ago (when we introduced Windows7 into our estate).
    We had an SAP/NetWeaver implementation which always worked on WinXP, but failed on Win7.
    We had to enable the DES ciphers, since those were disabled by default in Win7. We discovered that we also needed to enable all the other ciphers (those which are enabled by default[not configured]).
    i.e., when we changed the setting from "Not Configured", enabled DES, and left the RC4/AES stuff untouched by us, the RC4/AES stuff attracted a status of disabled.
    So, we had to set the DES ciphers to Enabled, and, also set the RC4/AES ciphers to Enabled - this gave us the "resultant" enablement of the default stuff and the needed change/addition of DES.
    When you set a GP setting "back to Not Configured", depending upon the setting *AND* the individual Windows feature itself - one of two things will happen:
    a) the feature will "revert" to default behaviour
    b) the feature will retain the current configured behaviour but becomes un-managed
    In classic Group Policy terms, condition (b) above is often referred to as "tattooing", i.e., the last GP setting remains in effect even though GPMC/RSOP/etc does not reveal that to be the case.
    (This is also a really good example of not doing this sort of stuff in the DDP. It could have borked your whole domain :)
    What I'd suggest, is that you re-enable your ciphers for KRB settings again - this time, enable all the ciphers that would normally be "default", let that replicate around, and allow time for domain members to action it.
    Then, set the setting back to Not Configured. This way, the "last" settings issued by GP will be those you want to remain as the "legacy".
    Note: the GP settings reference s/sheet, has this to say:
    Network security: Configure encryption types allowed for Kerberos
    This policy setting allows you to set the encryption types that Kerberos is allowed to use.
    If not selected, the encryption type will not be allowed. This setting may affect compatibility with client computers or services and applications. Multiple selections are permitted.
    This policy is supported on at least Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2.
