MM_swapImage Arguments

Hi!
I am working with a web page that uses the mm_swapImage
function as follows:
<area shape="rect" coords="4,162,131,183"
href="page1.html"
onmouseover="MM_swapImage('Image2','','images/image1.jpg',1)"
onmouseout="MM_swapImgRestore()" />
I need to display some additional information about that link
when the user passes the mouse pointer over that area. Is this
something that can be done with the MM_swapImage?
Where can I find the description of the MM_swapImage
Arguments? I tried to find it on the Dreamweaver help, but could
not find it.

Is it possible to add a url/href to the MM_swapImage funtion?

I have a bit of code I created in Dreamweaver CS3 about 3 years ago that I am revisiting/updating. It has a simple html picture gallery that uses the MM_swapImage function with the onclick command. Basically, there are a few thumbnails with a larger picture on the left. When a thumbnail is clicked, the larger image on the left changes. I'd love to add a link to the new larger image, but I can't think of a way to make this possible using this code. It isn't too important but if anyone has any ideas, I'd love to hear them.

In that code, the 'li1' is the image that gets replaced and the 'NEW_IMAGE.jpg' is the one I'd like to have a url/href attached to.

Also, and I'd imagine the technique would be similar, would it be possible to add a title attribute to the new image?

What's wrong with my div tag / site won't center....

Hi,
I am re-designing a website and I cannot get it to center. I created a div tag and id it "wrapper" and created a css rule. I am sure its a simple mistake, but I cannot figure it out.....

Content not lining up in the sidebar with the content located in the main area?

Hello, I’ve created a website using Dreamweaver CS4 and have come across an issue while using a template. The template I’m using is: 2 column fixed, right sidebar, header and footer. The problem seems to be in the sidebar where the content does not start at the top, it seems to be about 15px below the content in the main area. I can't find any CSS or any reason why it's starts where it does. It seems to look like even and as it should in Firefox, Google Chrome and Safari but not in IE9. The page is live at www.Lots2Homes.com and you'll see the content is lower in the right sidebar than in the main area to the left. The code for the home page and CSS is below. This has me going in circles, any help or ideas would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Difference in design and live view

I ran into another problem lately and i still cant find any solution to this yet. I have a table within table and they look fine in the design page but when i change the page to live view or switch to browser, the table seems longer. Any idea why and how can i fix this? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advanced and sorry for the long post!

How do I get rid of the underline in text - tried   style decoration:none

I am trying to get rid of the underline on some text which is not a link. I have tried putting style decoration: none in various places and I still can't get rid of it.
Any ideas?

I am confused about whether style.css files get affiliated with each separate HTML page or whether there is just one style.css file that is affiliated with all my HTML pages. If they are separate CSS files, how do I separate each style.css file?

Spry Accordion doesn't work properly

I uploaded the site the other night and it worked out just fine. I made a change in some spacing between two words and added a letter to a word. Now that I have the javascript code in the right place in the head, and I have followed all the other instructions to get a jQuery slideshow into my webpage, are there any ideas why it doesn't function as a slideshow please?

Assuming everything else is in the right place, that should do the trick. But here's a suggestion - put the two external links ABOVE the editable region in the template. That way, all files will link to those two jquery files (it won't matter since they are cached locally) and then all you'd need to put into the editable region would be the embedded script -

Swf previews in browser and doesn't work on server after upgrade from cs3 to cs5

     I have upgraded from CS3 to CS5. My site uses a template created in dreamweaver 8. When I edit a page and embed a .swf file created in flash cs5, it doesn't work on my server, but works on my computer when I 'test in browser'. I have uploaded all the files in the 'scripts' directory. I am streaming video. I have tried using both actionscript 2.0 and 3.0 and streaming .flv and .f4v. None work.
I have a big site and do not wan't to redo my template unless I absolutely have to.

It's not 100% clear from your post, but you should be aware that CS5 plugins should not work in CS5.5. Because of a CS5.5 bug, CS5 plugins will load in InDesign 7.5.0, but that is fixed in 7.5.1 so they will not load.
You should lean a bit harder on Virginia Systems. They should be able to tell you how to get them the stack trace from the crash which they should be able to look at and tell you which plugin (if any) is responsible for the crash. I could do it for Mac OS X but I don't know how under Windows. You could start by looking at the Event Viewer, though. That may have some helpful information about the crashes and the faulting module.

Embedded youtube video not showing up in IE

Ok, I dont know whats wrong here. Im redesigning a site and Im trying to embed a youtube video. It works fine in ff and in chrome but nothing appears on my page at all in IE. Ive looked on every forum i could for the answer but no one seems to really have one that I already havent done. Ive checked everything i need to in tools/internet options, as well as in control panel. I tried uploading another video and i get the same problem. ALSO, I tried making the video real big on my page just for kicks...in ff, it showed up and my whole page was out of whack. I checked in IE and everything was how it should be but without the video. So apparently IE isnt picking it up at all. Code is below and video is in RED. Forgive the amount of text. I never seem to paste enough of it in. Please take a look.
Note: using asp for this site so thatswhy you wont find <html> or <body> tags. Code is also a little messy but my job is to just re-design whats already there.

The following line tells me that this is not a template file, but a document created from a template called index.dwt

This means that you saved a child document as a template file at some stage.
If you go to Modify->Templates->Detach from Template, you can remove the template structure from your document. All you then need to do is to re-save the document as a template.

I am trying to create a RSS feed from scratch

Okay so I want to create a RSS feed with these two links:
http://www.networkcomputing.com/rss.php
and
http://www.voip-news.com/rss/vnar.xml
I have checked out different widgets and what not but I want to create this from scratch.
I started this xml file:

So I created a button on my home page, and it is linked to this XML file. Everything works great except it only shows the item that I coded in...I want it to show ALL items.
Can I do this without having to input each item individually?
Is this how I should do it anyways with a button linking to this xml file?
I really want to have like 3-5 of the posts to auto update on my home page but I dont know how to embed the RSS into my HTML home page file.
Also, the way I have it coded, will it automatically update the new posts?
or do I have to wait for the new post and input the item into the xml file?
I am very new to the RSS feed so please help.

I just want to take away the scroll bar in FF.

The issue with that white space is explained by the use of relative positioning of your menu. Remember that relative positioning visually allows you to move an element, but that its "shadow" or "foot print" is retained in the document flow. So it still takes up space where it originally flowed in your content, and this causes the header image to position itself the way it does. Turn off the relative positioning of the menu to see what I mean. A simple solution is to set the #header to relative positioning, and then apply absolute positioning to the menu.
There are other issues with your code. Much of it can be simplified, and you should really stop using ID selectors from this point on, and predominantly use classes instead. The use of ID selectors ought to be limited as much as you can - they force you to write bloated convoluted code.
Try to write DryCSS (Don't Repeat Yourself).
Here is my somewhat cleaned up code. Notice I removed and simplified most of the css selectors. Some have no css properties at all anymore. And be careful that you cannot use re-use the same id selector in your html code: it will not validate. #program1 must become .program1
PS as always, please backup your files before applying these changes! Dreamweaver lacks a history/versioning feature!

I am trying to make only the main content editable in a template.

I thought I had only the main content area editable, but when I made a change to the menu bar in the template it didn't carry over ( I did try update) and then I realized my whole page is editable on the page where I applied the template. Can someone please review and tell me what I might have done wrong.

Gif loader for background image

I simply want to run an animated gif while my background image loads for a slideshow.
I've searched the web and this forum for hours and can't get the various bits of code tips (ajax, jquery) to work because I'm a totaly idiot when it comes to code...i've tried cutting and pasting in many different configurations but can't get anything to work properly.

<p> This home sits on a bluff overlooking rolling sagebrush meadows   in Oregon’s High Desert with views of the Cascade Mountains dominating    the western horizon. The owners, Matthew and Margherita Fox requested   an extremely durable and energy efficient home for their family. The   request for a net zero house necessitated extensive use of photovoltaic   panels, ground source heat-pumps, careful consideration of day   lighting and shading strategies, and a super-insulated structure. </p>
<p>Italian architect and childhood friend Maria Chiara Trevisan   created the original vision for the structure as a gift to the Foxes.    The three masses, originally conceived as parallelepipedo (rectangular   cubes) resting at various angles in the earth, evolved into three   shelled structures clad in stone, a loose reference to the Three   Sisters mountains which dominate the home’s view.</p>

You might want to reconsider the use of absolutely positioned div's for layout purposes...
it often leads to big difficulties.http://www.apptools.com/examples/pagelayout101.php
Regarding your loading gif, try defining a container for the picture
and position your loading gif as a centered non-repeating background for container
and insert your image in the container.
