  • Sites for Flash tutorials?

    I'm looking for a site with really good, up to date Flash tutorials. I have a membership to Lynda, but I'm looking more for short tutorials on things like text effects and feature focused tutorials. Something like the Tuts+ sites, which I believe use to have a site for flash tutorials, would be ideal. I searched the Adobe forums, but the last relavent post was in 2009. THANKS!!!

    http://www.gotoandlearn.com is a good site for tutorials but, you should just lean to use a search engine like google to find tutorials that appeal to you.

  • Is there a mobile site for Apple Support?

    Typing in the discussion forums from an iPhone is torturous. I can have full sentences typed out with my fingers before they appear on screen as text. If I have some text filled out here then go to another app and come back, it not only doesn't save my text entry it also logs me out of the forum.
    Is there a separate mobile site for this forum or a dedicated app?

    By the way, the other thing that would sign you off the site (besides very long inactivity) is transitioning from WiFi to cellular or vice versa, or switching WiFi networks.

  • Order phone on BB RZ mobile site for in-store pick up and receive $50 Phone Freedom GC???

    The BB RZ Mobile site is offering 5000 RZ points (4500 bonus points, plus 500 everyday points) for a purchasing and activating any smartphone. My question is if I order through the RZ mobile site and choose in-store pick up will I still get the $50 GC from the Phone Freedom promotion I registered for earlier in the year?

    I am sure you will those are two seperate promotions. I got my bouns points and phone freedom GC card, I then used the GC towards the purchase of the phone.

  • Mobile site for Industrial Supplier?

    Hey gang,
    I am wondering what the concensus would be on this topic. I don't know how prolific mobil sites are, outside of entertainment genres.
    We have been an industrial company that largely works towards the oilfield market and related industries. We now are jumping into what is called, Specialty Gases which still deals here but also moves us into laboratory, natural gas transmission and other, highly technical fields. With this in mind, I realize the customers/individuals are of a different caliber, they are likely more technologically savvy.
    With this in mind, do we seem like a good candidate? Do you see a potential ROI?
    What do you think?
    Rob

    Hi Rob
    Mobile friendly/specific sites are said to be the big growth area now, but they said that last year as well !
    The easiest way is probably to check your site stats  for the number of visitors using mobile os's and browsers. But even that may not be enough, I can tell you that designing and building a site specifically for mobile devices is just as complex, and probably costs more if done on its own than a 'standard' desktop site.
    The other thing to remember is that any ROI will be difficult to calculate as most potential customers will 'check-out' the mobile site, then actually order/contact-you using a desktop.

  • Porting JS (mobile services) for Flash (Action Script)

    Hi!
    There is JS-class for mobile services
    ajax.aspnetcdn.com/ajax/mobileservices/MobileServices.Web-1.2.5.min.js
    May be anybody know is there port of this for Flash-projects (for example, for AIR)
    Thanx!

    Ensure your event listener (or as u call it, key catcher) is referencing the instance of the button....so for example, if the original button is called "button" and the one you have on the stage is an instance of "button" with the instance name "buttonInstance", ensure the event handler is attached to the instance on stage...
    It sounds like the event is not even being triggered as the trace is not being executed...this tells me that the event is not being "heard" by the listener.
    Why not email your lecturer with your code and ask them for some direction? The worst thing that will happen is that they won't reply to your email. If that fails, go and see them in person. Persistence is a valuable attribute.

  • Including Trusted sites for flash

    In flex help documentation it is mentioned that if swf file
    is loaded from a website which is listed trusted in browser, then
    it acts as if file in local trusted sandbox.
    But it does not work. Has anyone tried it?
    Here is the help quote:
    "Trusted sites and directories
    The browser security model includes levels of trust applied
    to specific websites. Flash Player interacts with this model by
    assigning a sandbox based on whether the browser declared the site
    of the SWF file's origin trusted.
    If Flash Player loads a SWF file from a trusted website, the
    SWF file is put in the local-trusted sandbox. The SWF file can read
    from local data sources and communicate with the Internet."
    http://livedocs.adobe.com/flex/3/html/help.html?content=security2_03.html
    find 'Trusted sites and directories'.

    Thanks laurent.
    But the scenario is a sfollows. I have two web server running
    on a host. one is apache and another is wsman(Windows remote mgmt
    service).
    I place swf file under apache root. Now this swf has to
    access data from same host but from wsman server.
    swf url is
    http://host:apacheport/my.swf
    wsman url is
    http://host:wsmanport/wsman.
    Ws man server does not allow any kind of file to place at its
    root and accept just the POST request.
    So I could not use cross domain file under wsman.
    Now as per flex documentation if I include host in the
    trusted list of the browser, it does not need cros domain.
    But it does not work. Did they changed the policy for new
    flash versions.

  • Web site for Flash galleries

    I have long been frustrated that it is so simple to create a Flash web gallery in either LR or PS but so difficult (for me anyway!) to hang them all together in a coordinated web site.
    Since I have CS3, I have a copy of Flash but little knowledge of how to use it. I did not want to go through a steep learning curve because frankly I will only ever create the one web site. I had someone help me put together a simple Flash site that I can make basic edits to using Flash - eg change the text and add a thumbnail for each new gallery I create.
    It works great for me - if you are interested to see it (and some of my award-winning Wimbledon Tennis and South of France shots!!) you are welcome to go to http://www.duncangrove.com but do please send me some feedback.
    Regards

    Q:- What's the difference between artists and photographers?
    A:- Two artists can have a conversation without discussing their paintbrushes!

    Looks good to me. Depends on how much you need on the final say. but your photos take the cake.
    There's some nice shots in there.
    take a look at this, http://www.lonnatucker.com/Artist.asp?ArtistID=1366&Akey=639NL2EA
    Some of the best work i've seen. Simply awesome!

  • Why is the mobile site for iPad requiring a login every time I go to gmail (even if I leave the tab open while I use another tab?

    For the last week or so every time I go to gmail (even when I've left the tab open) I am required to sign in. This is an unnecessary step that I really don't want to do. I don't like the gmail app. And I feel like this sign in issue is forcing me to use the app. Why is this happening? Is there a way around this?
    Thank you for any input.

    Can you post back here a screenshot from this issue?

  • Redirecting between a desktop-browser site and a mobile site

    My company is inheriting a site built by another party in CQ5. This site is intended to be viewed on a desktop browser. We are tasked with building a mobile site for it. Our creative department would like the user's browser to be detected, and if the user requests a page on the desktop site from a mobile browser, they would be redirected to the mobile site. Is there any way to do this on the server side without disabling caching on the site?

    true
    nevertheless, you need it in places for uncached requests. additionally you have the options of:
    - javascript redirect (allows you to build an "opt-out" for the user, i.e. the user wants to stay on desktop regardless of mobile device, via cookie)
    <script language=javascript>
    <!--
    if (navigator.userAgent.match(/mobile/i))
       location.replace("http://mobile.myurl.com");
    -->
    </script>
    - apache configuration redirect
    <IfModule mod_rewrite.c>
    RewriteEngine On
    RewriteCond %{HTTP_USER_AGENT} ^.*(mobile).*$ [NC]
    RewriteRule ^$ http://m.example.com/ [L,R=302]
    </IfModule>
    dom.

  • Separating all.css from stand-alone mobile site

    I have come to the conclusion that I need to create a stand-alone mobile site for a client's ecommerce site. Should I copy and paste my css code from the desktop version "all.css" into the phone.css so as to keep them separate? The "Main template_phone.dwt" uses "all.css" and "phone.css" but I don't want to change any of the css for my desktop version. Thank you!

    That really depends on the situation and what if any CSS you are reusing.
    There are several ways to do what you need including, seperate CSS files, Media Queries (Dreamweaver), the BC built in mobile template system, if doing it in Muse they now have mobile capability now as well.
    So we would really need more information to advise what would be the best solution for you.

  • Nokia mobile site

    for those amoung us who are beig directed to the mobile site from our N900's and don't want to be.
    change the book mark address to
    /t5/Maemo-Devices/bd-p/maemo?device-view=desktop
    i'd reccomend keeping a book mark for the mobile site for the 2G areas just incase
    i'm sure you can figure out what the address is tho

    that works, however just scroll to bottom of mobile version click full.
    now this will bring full page back.
    you can either do as Matthew said or add page as shortcut on desktop by clicikng on + sign and then add to desktop.
    so its either do as Matthew says or as Simon says, each work ok

  • Mobile site, automatic creation and editing

    I'm new to Muse and have just created my first web site which Im very pleased with. www.loosechippings.org BUT a big drawback for me is that I have to create a completely separate mobile site for smartphones. I'm told Weebly does this automatically and Direct Mail automatically creates mobile format emails. Please can Adobe introduce automatic creation and editing of mobile versions of the desktop web site?

    Just have a look at a homepage of your choice and think, what would happen, if you automatically transpose this page completely into a phone layout. (quantity and size of text, images; menus, anchors, pinning and so on. I think, if you are aware of the horrible problems, you will never want to do this automatically.

  • Mobile Site and System Pages

    I know you can create a separate mobile website for tablets and phone. I will be doing this for a site I am building that has content specifically targeted for iPad devices. The question I have though is how are system generated pages handled? For instance the eCommerce pages and shopping cart pages.
    How do I create tablet specific pages for system generated pages?
    Thank You!

    Using Muse, I was wondering if there is a way to convert a website that is already built into a mobile website. I have no idea how the website was originally built. My client is asking me to build a mobile site for his current site without touching his desktop site. His site was originally built in Dreamweaver I think but he have no way of finding the files and lost contact with his original designer. We don't want to start a new site from scratch with a new domain because he is afraid of losing his seo work.
    In other words. My client site was build in Dreamweaver or something else. I am not a programer and was going to use muse to make his mobile site. So the question is how do I link a muse made mobile site to his desktop site?
    Thank you.

  • Is it possible for Flash Remoting to do this?

    I was wondering if it is at all possible to program a Flash
    site for Flash Remoting and use a database on another server? Of
    course we have access to the server and could place and script
    there to use the database.
    Do we have to use the same language as the other server and
    far as fetching information?
    I would love to use Coldfusion on my server and retrieve info
    from the server where the other site resides that uses php.
    Is this possible? Thanks!

     In 2012 I had a vehicle repossessed. Recently I decided to do something about my credit. When I ran my credit report I noticed that the lender is reporting 2 repos. 2 seperate amounts. One for 7700 and another for 738. I disputed this on EQ. It was verified so I called the lender who stated that the 2nd amount was for the repo charges. I asked her why that was not added to the 7700 account. She stated they could not. I asked to for them to send a copy of the signed contact where I agreed to pay that amount for that charge. She stated they did not have one but they could send a copy of the original loan contract, but it would take a while do to it being at another location in there file storage. How could EQ verify if the loan company doesn't have contract accessible, and can they report 2 repos for one vehicle?I don't know if it is legal or not. However, it doesn't make logical sense to me that they could split the debt into the balance owed on the vehicle and the cost to repossess. The ability to collect both the deficiency and the cost to repo is in the contract you signed with the lender. IMO that means the total unpaid deficiency would be one figure - not two separate tradelines because the contract is what permits the lender to collect both the repo fees and the deficiency amounts. If I were in your shoes I would do the following:First, send a letter to the lender in writing that they correct their reporting with the CRA's of the deficiency and be specificSecond, if the lender doesn't correct the reporting, contact the CFPB.  The upside is that they may just remove the tradelines entirely rather than correct.  GL
