Modification in standard SAP code.

I want to modify a standard SAP program. THe Tcode is MM01. I want to add a new screen with few fields when the tabstrip control is 'accounting2'. Iwant to find the tab no for the same and writethe new code for it.

Just Go To SE84
Give The PRogram Name Or PAckage name In Which MM01 is present.
Then Click On Display.
Then Click On Enhancements.
Then U will Get USer Exits Aswell As BADI 's.

Hi Henry,
I don't think this is the easiest way to look at the code around a particular field on the screen. Debugging standard programs also can be very tedious, if not impossbile. So, instead of this question, I would like to find out exactly what you want to do if you know the code.
If you are in a transaction and you want to know where the code of a particular field is, the fastest way to get to it is by pressing the F1 key on the field and then press the Technical info button on the help screen. In here you will typically see the same kind of information but it is very specific to the field you selected.
PROGRAM(SCREEN) tells you which program is manipulating the main screen, in which your field is embedded. Remember your field may be included in a sub-screen and that subscreen may be the one included in the main screen.
PROGRAM(SUB SCREEN) tells you which program is directly responsible for the field on the subscreen it is included in. This is where you should find the code most appropriate for the field, but not necessarily.
PROGRAM(GUI) controls how your push buttons and the menu options in the screen behave and controlled.

Check with the functional consultant. There might be a config transaction, wherein you can specify the type of error whether Harderror' or warning etc.
I know, Fi and MM has that.

Standard SAP code is calling HTTP - want it to call HTTPS

We have recently switched our environment to HTTPS however some SAP code such as this:
FORM get_url USING    p_application
              CHANGING p_url.
DATA: lw_application_name TYPE string.
lw_application_name = p_application.
CALL METHOD cl_wd_utilities=>construct_wd_url
    EXPORTING
      application_name = lw_application_name

calls the HTTP URL instead of the HTTPS URL.
Is there a way to change this globally so that call code calls the HTTPS value (with the correct port as defined in the ICM - i.e. 443)?

Can you point me to Sap document that lists the acceptable methods to follow when modifing SAP standard (abap code). We are on release 4..7.
I assume there is a best practice guide if you have to modify standard Sap code of what to do and don't do. Ex:. Field exit, CMOD, SMOD... Thanks for assistance.

Changing standard SAP tables

can any one tell me what is the difference between Append Structure and Custom Includes for the purpose of modification in standard SAP tables

Append structure :
+Append Structures Locate the document in its SAP Library structure
Append structures are used for enhancements that are not included in the standard. This includes special developments, country versions and adding customer fields to any tables or structures.
An append structure is a structure that is assigned to exactly one table or structure. There can be more than one append structure for a table or structure.
The following enhancements can be made to a table or structure TAB with an append structure:
· Insert new fields in TAB,
· Define foreign keys for fields of TAB that already exist,
· Attach search helps to fields of TAB that already exist,
These enhancements are part of the append structure, i.e. they must always be changed and transported with the append structure.
When a table or structure is activated, all the append structures of the table are searched and the fields of these append structures are added to the table or structure. Foreign keys and search help attachments added using the append structure are also added to the table. If an append structure is created or changed, the table or structure assigned to it is also adjusted to these changes when the append structure is activated.
Since the order of the fields in the ABAP Dictionary can differ from the order of the fields on the database, adding append structures or inserting fields in such append structures does not result in a table conversion.
The customer creates append structures in the customer namespace. The append structure is thus protected against overwriting during an upgrade. The fields in the append structure should also reside in the customer namespace, that is the field names should begin with ZZ or YY. This prevents name conflicts with fields inserted in the table by SAP.
If you create an append structure for a table or structure, only those enhancements are allowed that are consistent with the enhancement category of the enhanced table or structure. For more information, see Structure linkStructure Enhancements.
The new versions of the standard tables are imported after an upgrade, and the fields, foreign key definitions and search help attachments contained in the append structures are added to the new standard tables at activation.+
Custom include
These are includes in SMOD Enhancements, any of these appear on database transparent table but also in structure used by FM, BAPI. They are activated in a project and SAP usually provide user-exit or BADI to maintain/Exploit the added fields in the same enhancement..

How to uncomment code in Standard SAP Programs

Hi Experts,
how to uncomment entire code of standard SAP programs which is commented .
Standard SAP Program is fully commented,i have to uncomment it ,to work it as normal.
i saw that some lines * / * like this are there in the commented code .
what is the way to un comment this ?

Well, if it is commented by your company - This doesnt ask for access key but if it is commented by SAP and you want to uncomment, you need access key.
You can ask basis guys to get access key for the object. you need to provide the program name and other information.
Other information: - go to the GOTO on application tool bar and select object direct entry.... you need to provide the full object key.
To uncomment the code - select the lines and right click - uncomment . This can only be done in editable mode.

Use t.code AUT10 and mention transaction code as VL02N in it. Put the date range in the selection fields.
In the output results, the object value will show the deleted delivery numbers.

Change in Standard SAP menu : How to catch the transaction code!

Hello,
I have added a menu item 'More Help' to the standard SAP menu 'Help' which should navigate to URLs for the respective transactions. Suppose i am in transaction FB03 and click the 'More Help' menu, it should navigate to the URL mentioned in a table.
My Problem is I have created a transaction for that menu item 'zhelp' which calls a program and when i am clicking the 'more help' tab , the original value of sy-tcode which should be FB03 is replaced with the new Transaction which is used for the menu item i.e. 'zhelp'. Because of this i am not able to retrieve my value from the table corresponding to the transaction FB03.
Is there any other system field which stores the value of transaction FB03 aftter navigating to other transaction? How should i go ahead with this? Please help!!

Hi,
I really dont know in how many standard transactions you have added the More Help option.
If you hav added only in 2 to 3 transactions then you can think on using the below Logic.
Say if u have added in FB01, FB02 and FB03 transaction.
Find one exit for each transaction, in the exit EXPORT TCODE ( EX: FB01 ) to memory.
In your Ztransaction report IMPORT the TCODE from memory.
Now u will get FB01 after inmport statement and u can make use of this.
If the option is added in many transactions , you have to think again in using the above logic as it involves identification of many Exits.
