Modify Banner with EEM?

Hello,
cause eem could do a lot of chances in the configuration without an operator, I want to inform the operator/admin with the content of the "banner exec" about some important system parameters.
I tried to configure some banners with eem applets, but without success.
Here is an example, section "action"
action 1.0 cli command "enable"
action 2.0 cli command "configure terminal"
action 3.0 cli command "banner exec @"
action 4.0 cli command "some text"
action 5.0 cli command "@"
action 9.0 cli command "end"
I can´t understand the problem cause writing a banner are some simple cli commands. Maybe the response of the initial "banner exec @" command is the problem? Does anyone tried it with success.
Other eem applets are running without problems on the same system.
Regards,
Thilo

You need to answer the interactive prompts, or do a one-line banner.  It looks like a single line will work.  Try:
action 1.0 cli command "enable"
action 2.0 cli command "configure terminal"
action 3.0 cli command "banner exec @ some test @"
action 4.0 cli command "end"

  • Changing the portal banner with customized banner!

    Hi Friends,
I want to change the portal banner with customized banner with logo. So for that, I created a customized banner and named as bg_banner.jpg by renaming the original as bg_banner1.
I modified them in both paths
    D:\OracleBI\web\app\res\s_oracle10\b_mozilla_4\ and
    D:\OracleBI\oc4j_bi\j2ee\home\applications\analytics\analytics\res\s_oracle10\b_mozilla_4
Also restarted both Presentation Services and OC4J
But still, I'm unable to view my customized banner instead I see the original LOGO missing. But able to view the rest of the banner with standard dashboard links.
Please correct me, where am I missing and do the needful.
    Best regards
    User622248

Use a copy of the original and paint in this.
    Than replace it there:
    \bi\web\app\res\s_oracle10\b_mozilla_4
    \bi\web\app\res\s_oracle10\b_mozilla_4\rtl
    \bi\oc4j_bi\j2ee\home\applications\analytics\analytics\res + rtl.
Perhaps you forgot the \rtl\ banner?

  • Flying banner with text

    Hi,
I need to develop an ad banner in flash in which an aeroplane
is flying with a banner with some text written on it. I need to
give the banner a waving effect in such a way that the text and the
banner wave all together. Wondering how to do that without using
    actionscript.
    Please Help...Regards

Easy - you could use text - break it apart and then animate
each letter to follow the same path as the plane, also you could
draw the banner behind the plane and then use the v tool to modify
the design to fit round the text as it was flying along if you know
what I mean. each movement would have to be a separate keyframe.
time involved but it would work ok. :d)

  • Environment variables for use with EEM routing trigger?

I've only recently started looking into EEM, and was hoping a guru here could clear something up for me:
The docs do not show there to be any environment variables that can be used with EEM's "routing" trigger, to determine which route was added, changed, or modified.
It seems odd that the trigger would allow you to fire specifically on adds or removes, but then give you no indication of the specific route that was added or removed. Is this info in some non-obvious generic variable?
Or, is the only available approach to cache the route table, and then parse the whole table when the event fires? I haven't seen any examples that use this trigger; maybe because of this lack of any documented routing-specific variables?
    Thanks in advance!

Every event detector has its own set of internal variables. These are different than environment variables. Environment variables are those you can modify in the config with "event manager environment". If you have a device which supports the routing event detector, you can run the command, "show event manager detector routing detailed" and that will show you all of the available internal variables.
I actually did a programmatic applet example using the oruting ED for my Networkers session this past year. This example doesn't use any of the internal variables, but it will give you an idea of how this ED works:
    event manager applet route-watch
event routing network 10.1.1.0/24 type add protocol ospf
    action 001 cli command "enable"
    action 002 set done 0
    action 003 while $done eq 0
    action 004 wait 5
action 005 cli command "ping ip 10.1.1.1"
    action 005 regexp "!!!!!" "$_cli_result"
    action 006 if $_regexp_result eq 1
action 007 cli command "config t"
action 008 cli command "int Tunnel0"
    action 009 cli command "shut"
    action 010 cli command "end"
    action 011 set done 1
    action 012 end
    action 013 end
This applet will be triggered when the route 10.1.1.0/24 is learned via OSPF. The applet will then try and ping 10.1.1.1, and when it is 100% successful, it will take down the backup tunnel interface. Because it may take a little while before the ping is 100% successful, the applet will loop until it gets a 100% success (or until the 20 second maxrun timer expires).

  • "Another program on your computer would like to modify Firefox with the following add-on" - how to disable?

I am using the latest Firefox (28.0) on Windows XP in a shared computer environment. Although I do not have Administrator access, I installed Firefox myself and can change whatever Firefox config settings I want (including about:config and mucking with the files in the installation directory).
I want to disable the tab that appears on Firefox startup, "Another program on your computer would like to modify Firefox with the following add-on". This tab usually appears once per day (the first time I startup Firefox each day). I want the tab not to appear at all, from now on.
The "another program" in question is some program that is used in the facility where I'm using the computer, so I can't just uninstall that program. Although this is a shared computer environment, they don't "wipe" the machine every day, just reboot. So the Firefox I installed is still there with all my config settings intact. As far as I know, I'm the only person who uses Firefox on this computer.
    Solutions that don't work:
"Just click Continue" -- but then I still see the "Another program" tab every day, and don't want to see it.
"Click Remove in the Add-ons list" -- I removed the Add-on in question but the tab still appears every day.
I would like a solution that either eliminates the Add-on request for that particular application, or eliminates all such requests ("Another program...") regardless of what application requested it. The ideal solution would be if the request itself had a checkbox for "never ask this again" but, alas, no such luck.

Gosh... I spent about an hour preparing a response, then accidentally did control-something or alt-something which took me back a page and I lost everything I typed (even after I clicked Forward to try to get back to where I was). If anyone knows of a config setting like "don't ever trash an entire page of user input unless the user explicitly confirms it", or, "keep form input data even if the user goes Back or Forward", I think that would be a great feature.
OK, back to the original question...
I appreciate the responses thus far, but I think there have been some misunderstandings. Maybe a multiple-choice version would help:
Question: Is there a way to suppress the appearance of the notification tab that says, "Another program on your computer would like to modify Firefox with the following add-on" (meaning, any request from another program to install an add-on is to be silently ignored and discarded)?
    Answer:
    (A) Yes, you can suppress that notification (please state how).
    (B) No, but you can request that feature (please state where).
    (C) No, you can't do that or request that feature.
That's basically my question in a nutshell. If the answer is (B), I might envision a boolean about:config setting like "extensions.allowProgrammaticAddonRequests" that defaults to "true" and can be set to "false" manually. I think that would be the most direct solution (if it were possible).
I will respond to some comments from above:
"I don't understand why you are using a mozilla.cfg file to lock those preferences when you can modify the preferences for your current Firefox profile via about:config" -- This is because the "other program" in question (iCafe Manager) was setting certain config options (browser.startup.homepage, and browser.newtab.url) on every reboot (which happens every morning at that facility). I got tired of manually changing the settings back every day. Using the above-mentioned files, I successfully defeated iCafe Manager's daily interference with those config settings. The other things (like stuff related to Socks tunnelling) I probably could have just set once in about:config but doing a lockPref seemed to do no harm. The settings for "enabledScopes" and "xpinstall" were to see if they'd help with the problem I originally asked about, but they did not.
"I would look in about:config to make sure those preference modifications are in effect" -- yes, I confirmed that the settings are in effect and locked. That much works as expected.
"A) removing the iCafe Toolbar extension from the Firefox Addons -> Extensions panel results in the "Another program" tab at startup" -- true, but I think it would be more accurate to say: while the toolbar extension is not installed (due to either having been removed, or, never having been installed at all), the "Another program" tab appears on at least the first startup of Firefox after every reboot.
"B) when you allow the installation it shows up as "(disabled)" in the Extensions list but the unwanted toolbar still shows up (correct?)" -- yes, correct.
"You could explain the problem to the system administrator of your facility" -- unfortunately, there's no administrator on site, only a person who makes sure the lights are on. They'll call a tech if there's a catastrophic problem (like the net connection goes dead). Since I installed Firefox myself, and since iCafe Manager is a program they installed, I don't think they'll go out of their way to help me with Firefox (especially if I'm trying to defeat iCafe Manager's attempts to interfere with Firefox). From their point of view, their systems are working just fine.
"allow the installation and then see if you can go to the Firefox Customize menu and HIDE the toolbar as a workaround" -- since I'm not in that facility now (and probably won't be again until this summer or so), I can't experiment with those systems now. But I do recall clicking just about everything I could, including "View - Toolbars" (which seems to be the same menu as when I right-click on a toolbar line). That menu allows hiding toolbars, but from my recollection, the offending toolbar was not displayed in the list, so I could not hide it that way. Also, the Customize menu ("View - Toolbars - Customize") seems to allow only modifications to a toolbar, and not a way to hide an entire toolbar.
"it might help if you could post a new troubleshooting information list after you allow the iCafe Toolbar installation" -- ok, that troubleshooting report is included below.
    Thanks again for your help.

  • "Another program on your computer would like to modify Firefox with the following add-on" - how do I allow extensions?

I cannot get extensions to run or enable, nor does the browser remember my preference.
For example, after I install or Enable an extension, when I restart Firefox I get a tab for every extension that forces me to check "Allow this installation" after the prompt "Another program on your computer would like to modify Firefox with the following add-on".
Moreover, when I click 'Options' on an installed extension, Firefox freezes permanently.
Note that I DO NOT have any extensions.* files in my Profile folder, nor do they appear.
I am trying to get MozRepl running. I am able to install it, but the menu option does not get added in the 'Tools' menu. Moreover none of the installed extensions are able to add to the menu.
I've tried every solution in the following links
    https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/929335
    http://kb.mozillazine.org/Preferences_not_saved
    https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/how-to-fix-preferences-wont-save
I have made the Profiles\ folder and all subfolders Read-only, including the files.
I have tried the "Reset Firefox to its default state".
I have tried uninstalling (including removing all profiles/data) and re-installing Firefox, and I get the same issues.
My operating system is Windows 7 and I have McAfee SiteAdvisor Enterprise Plus and McAfee VirusScan Enterprise + AntiSpyware Enterprise.

Check that Firefox isn't set to run as Administrator.
Right-click the Firefox desktop shortcut and choose "Properties".
Make sure that all items are deselected in the "Compatibility" tab of the Properties window.
    * Privilege Level: "Run this program as Administrator" should not be selected
    * "Run this program in compatibility mode for:" should not be selected
Also check the Properties of the firefox.exe program in the Firefox program folder (C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\).

  • Message "another program on your computer would like to modify Firefox with the following add-on" appears every time a new user logs in... Bad problem

I have just deployed an image to over 500 workstations, and they are all deep frozen using deepfreeze.
When users are logging in, and open Firefox they are getting the message "another program on your computer would like to modify firefox with the following add-on:" Adobe Acrobat - Create PDF 1.2
Yes I know u can do a one-time click and allow, but we have potentially 50,000+ students logging into these PCs and it is unacceptable that they are greeted with this message rather than the Homepage.
This is very dissapointing, as we upgraded to the latest version of firefox in preperation for rollout, and then added some software like adobe.
The profile is kept in the default user, so everytime a user logs in, they will get prompted with the message, and this will always happen because we use deepfreeze.
I need a FIX ASAP from mozilla on how to disable this pop-up via Group Policy...
    Not at all happy,
    Sharpy

    Hi,
One way you could try is to install Firefox on a fresh PC/image which has the same Adobe software versions installed as the clients. You may also have to install the same extensions as well as software for any additional plugins as on the clients. Start Firefox and make sure everything is okay. After that you can copy and overwrite the '''extensions.ini''', '''extensions.sqlite''' and '''pluginreg.dat''' files and probably the '''extensions''' folder and any supporting files of the extensions from this fresh profile, onto a client profile after temporarily disabling/unfreezing Deep Freeze. If everything is okay you can then push the changes onto the other clients via a logon/startup script after temporarily disabling Deep Freeze and then re-enable Deep Freeze.

  • Help with EEM TCL / CLI scripting for re-direction/wccp counters

Being new with EEM scripting I wanted to see if I was on the right track and get some help to finish my idea.
Our problem I am trying to fix is our remote sites utilize pairs of Cat3650's for some routing and WCCP redirection.  We are encountering ACL denial issues causing slow down and access issues.  The fix for the issue we remove the WCCP service groups to break peering with our wan optimizers and re-insert the configuration thus re-establishing peering and restoring service.
My idea is to use a TCL scipt on a watchdog timer to parse the "sh ip wccp | inc denied (or unassign)" output for denial and unassignable error counters.  If a counter is found I wanted to create a syslog message that would then kick off a simple EEM CLI script to remove the service groups, wait 10 seconds, then re-add the service groups.  Please point me in the right direction if I am off track as I am not sure if I can use the EEM CLI for all this or since I want to retreive specific info from the sh ip wccp output if I do need to utilize TCL.  I am also unsure if the "total denied" ascii string pulled via the "sh ip wccp | inc denied" will cause issues when attempting to just pull the counter information.
sh ip wccp | inc Denied Red

This won't work as EEM cannot intercept its own syslog messages.  However, I'm not sure why you need this form of IPC anyway.  Why not just make the Tcl script perform the needed CLI commands?
And, yes, you could use all applets here.  But since you've written the hard stuff in Tcl already, it might be best just to add the missing calls to reconfigure WCCP to that script.

  • LR HTML Web Gallery -- modified version with great features is available

For anyone using the default Lightroom HTML Web Gallery, one of our associates here has offered a modified version with some great added features.
John Beardsworth's site -- Lightroom Solutions - http://lightroomsolutions.com/ -- is a wonderful resource for LR tips, plug-ins, information, etc.
The default HTML gallery is fine, but I always found it lacked features.  I mentioned this to Ian Lyons (http://www.computer-darkroom.com/) a couple of years ago, and he sent me a modified version with the ability to specify up to 100 rows by using sliders instead of the grid.  When I tried John's modified version, it had some other good features.  I thought.... what if the two modified versions could be combined?  So, I shot John an email, and low and behold, he uploaded a new version of the gallery to his site.  Thank you, Ian and John!
    Here is the link:
    http://lightroomsolutions.com/my-tweaked-built-in-html-gallery/
Here are the added features that I find most useful:
Number of rows (up to 100) and columns can be specified using sliders rather than the grid
Thumbnail images can be sized to your specification
Filename can be placed on each thumbnail, and you specify size of text
Clicking the large image advances to the next image rather than returning to the top of the thumbnail page (no need to use the 'next' link)
See the site for other added features.  (If you already have John's version, the newer version has the same file name and went online April 17, 2013.)
PLEASE NOTE:  John Beardsworth's HTML gallery is NOT supported by John or Adobe, and is offered "as-is."
I hope others will find this as useful and I have.
    John

By not modifying the report with WebI, do you mean that the user shouldn't have access to WebI Rich Client?
What kind of update would the user have to do on a report once the report is available in a folder?
Yes I mean user shouldn't ha access to webi rich client. He should just view update rint and updated report.
    Regards

  • Simple web banner with links

I give. I've tried and tried to google, check forums, etc. and cannot find the exact answer to what I believe should be simple (if you know what you are doing).
I need a simple rotating web banner with three photos. Each photo represents a different event and needs a different link to a different brochure.
I have Dreamweaver CS3, Photoshop CS and Imageready CS.
Please help if you have a moment to spare. I would greatly appreciate it!

NivoSlider is one option that can do what you want.

To link the images, just wrap the images inside <a> tags, as per the usage page.

  • Custom banner with slideshow embedded

Hello, i have a simple question for you all, hopefully i can get an answer and hopefully i can make this how i am imagining it.
I have a simple banner with a gradient type border around is and the School name and address and phone and fax number on the bottom section along with the "w" logo.
I am looking to keep all of that content and add in a kind of curvy dynamic type slideshow into it, making the slideshow the same height as the banner, probably moving the "w" logo to the other side or something like that. probably looking at using a simple Jquery slideshow that just cycles through the images and lets me set how big i want it and how fast i want it to scroll ect.
I then need to take the banner from photobucket, into dreamweaver. Im assuming i can mate the slideshow section and the banner section in photobucket, making some kind of sectioned off area for where the slideshow will go. I dont think i can put the jquery slideshow into photobucket.
If you have any questions feel free to ask, i dont really know how else to explain this, i might try some mockups in paint later, right now i cant access photobucket in school. Ironic.

This is really easy, once you get the hang of it.
There are a LOT of jQuery slideshow plugins out there. The one I use is Tobia Conforto's Cross-slide.
In order to do this, you need to install the jQuery stuff and then install the plugin. By "install," I mean it needs to go into the website in a folder as a simple file that you upload (along with everything else) to your server. Then it's a simple matter of putting in a little JavaScript in your <head> area of your website.
This website is using a call to the jQuery script, so the only thing needed is the call to the file. But this website has the JavaScript right in the head area of the website.
The key is to create a <div> that is called in the JavaScript for your slideshow. That needs to be the exact size of your slides, which need to be all the same size -- but you will note that Tobia's system will allow you to use that <div> as a window for slides that move vertically or horizontally like a Ken Burns film.
This works very well on all browsers, including mobile ones, though I must admit I do not get ultrasmooth transitions on the iPad I. I think the iPad II does a better job and I would imagine that the first iPhone may show the dissolves as cuts.
I can offer further help if you need it.
