Modify DB Values with Java before displaying

I have a table that displays an Application Name. When the data was populated the names were in all caps. For displaying purposes I wish to display them with First Letter Capitals.
I tried to "hook in" with Entity Object accessors and View Object Accessors but the tables were still populated with ALL CAPS names.
Where can I hook in to get my desired effect? (Yes I am aware I can use SQL manipulation, but I wish to use Java)

Thanks for the reply Steve.
I always knew I could use SQL (didn't know initcap() existed ;) ), but I was thinking to myself "how can I do advanced modifications using java" and I didn't know where I would hook into the Java code so I guesses EntityImpl, and I thought I tried ViewRowImpl, so I opened the thread.
Also, the View Object has read only and updateable always attributes, but the initcapped name is read only so using SQL is probably a better solution in this case speed wise.
However, the Application names do have slashes and other characters too. I just didn't use a String.split(...) and piece it back together, I had to add some logic for extra characters. I'll look into initcap though, always good to know.

Yes you can do this via XSLT.
You can try similar to the one below:

Modify the footer with java-script

Hi,
Im' trying to modify the content of the footer in the master-page using java-script. So I put in the initialize event of the footer code to add "!" after a text field (with plenty of space left) but it doesn't do anything. The code is example.rawValue = example.rawValue + "!";
This code works fine in the rest of the document, but it doesn't seem to work in the master-page.
Could somebody tell me what I'm doing wrong?

The access to the masterpage objects is not in the same scope as where the script is running so you must path to it starting from the root:
so.... form1.pageSet.Page1.example.rawValue = form1.pageSet.Page1.example.rawValue + "!";
where form1 is the root node of your form (look in the hierarchy view), pageSet indicates the objects in the Master Pages, Page1 is the 1st Page name in the Master Pages and exampel is the path to th erest of the object.

Do I need to pass a applet test with Java before the Flash player will function?

I have downloaded the unstall and install programs for Adobe Flash Player and followed all the steps poster, "eidnolb" noted to prior poster greenie41180 on March 6th, 2010, 8:05PM.   The flash player test did not work.   I also do not see applets, when I use the latest version of Java on an applet test.    I might try reinstalling IE8, or going to IE7 and reinstalling Flash Player. Gawd! hours have been used, just trying to get Flash Player going so I can resume watching the tutorials at Mathtutordvd.com.
What other troubleshooting steps can be taken?   I have tried everything eidnolb suggested in prior posts.
Hello everyone, When I try to download the Flash player I get the error message listed above.    I turned off the firewall and virus modes on my TrendMicro protection program, when downloading the player.     I already have Java 6, update 18 in the system.   I restarted the computer. I also adjusted the configurations for Javascript and ActiveX under the "Tools" menu for the Security and Advanced tabs of Internet options. I have Windows XP, service pack 3, with Internet Explorer 8.
Also, I tested the recent, most updated program, Java and I still can not see an applet.    I have spent 7 or more hours on this. I thought initially this process was going to be straight forward.     I desperately need this Flash player so I can learn math at the streaming video site called, Mathtutordvd.com       Oh! gosh maybe someone here can help me help myself by giving me more troubleshooting steps. I did follow Adobe's troubleshooting steps, but I still get the same, above error box with, MSXML2.XSL Template 3.0 (Original exception: undefined)
I hope, eventually to watch the streaming site, once this Flash Player is loaded.   I really do not understand what is going on here. Thanks for your help.

FILTER BEFORE DISPLAY & List_values(restrict)

I have a view which retrieves around 400,000 records from
various tables.
I had to use two LOV's for allowing to query by not entering any
values as well as partial values.
Since List_Values(Restirct) and FILTER BEFORE DISPLAY options do
go well together. I am using two LOVs for both of them.
When I call the LOV with FILTER BEFORE DISPLAY, it retrieves the
records faster ie 5 secs.
When I call the LOV without FILTER BEFORE DISPLAY, using
List_values(RESTRICT), then it takes around 30 secs.
Any ideas about the difference in these two options?

I might be mistaken (too many forms versions in my brain) but
Filter Before Display ignores the contents of the output item. It
shows a small window, where you can enter a filter before
fetching all records to the LOV.
LOV_VALUES(restrict); (if I remember correctly from my
SQL*Forms30 days) actually used the contents of the item as a
filter (for instance, if the item contains "a", the LOV only
shows the records that start with "a").
I've never tried to use both in the same LOV.
I'll try it tomorrow.

I have a problem with Java and an e-procurement system integrating

I use an e-procurement system at work and yesterday I could not get my parts list from the suppliers web site to display in our in-house eprocurment finance package.
There is not a problem with the finance package. There is not a problem with the suppliers web site. I have verified both of these by other colleagues being able to complete what I am trying to do.
The difference between my version of Firefox and my colleagues' is that I am on version 6.0.1 and they are on 6.0.
I have had problems with Java not displaying certain animations on the suppliers web site but, my colleague does not and I am suspicious that this is the problem. Can anyone verify this please and what can I do about it. My Java updates are up-to-date as of yesterday and are automatic.

I was quite amazed I never got a reply to this, in the past people here have been helpful. In any case I was finally able to enter this website on the exceptions list in the Java panel, and I believe it is okay now.

Change a SWF's variable value through Java

Hi, all!
Does anybody know how to change the value of some SWF (Flash file) variable in Java?
What I need is to read a SWF that I made, then change a variable value from Java, before I output this SWF.
I believe this is possible through bytes handling, but I don't know how... Has anybody already done it?

I want to pass along a couple of tips that will get you more and better response on this list.
1) There is an un-written rule that says more "stars" is better than just one star. Giving a one star rating will probably eliminate that responder from individuals that are willing to anser your question.
2) If someone gives you an answer that meets your needs, reply to that answer and say that it worked.
3) If someone suggests that you look at an example, DO IT! LV comes with a wonderful set of examples that demonstate almost all of the core functionality of LV. Familiarity with all of the LV examples will get you through about 80% of the Certified LabVIEW Developer exam.
4) If you have a question first search the examples for something tha
t may help you. If you can not find an example that is exactly what you want, find one that is close and post a question along the lines of "I want to do something similar to example X, how can I modify it to do Y".
5) Some of the greatest LabVIEW minds offer there services and advice for free on this exchange. If you treat them good, they can get you through almost every challenge that can be encountered in LV.
6) If English is not your native language, post your question in the language you favor. There is probably someone around that can help. "We're big, we're bad, we're international!"

MWA: Issue while capturing the values entered, before displaying the LOV

I have created a LOV in Mobile Web Application using PL/SQL procedure.
I'm not able to get the values entered by the user before displaying the List of values.
I need the values entered to pass it to the query.
There might be a seeded event or method to capture these values.

Before invoking Input task, I have created a transformation to initailize the payload elements, so that in the UI these field elements will be become editable.
I have an ADF table which is used to insert account details elements which is initialized in the transformation with namespace.You can simple use a ADF form to do this. Create ADF editable input fields in a panelFormLayout and wehn user enters values and clicks ona button .. pass those values to BPM payload.

How to display positive value with a trailing plus sign

I want to display positive value with a trailing plus sign and negative value with a trailing minus sign. How can I do it? Is there any character in custom format for this? I don't want to convert number to text and use case statement because I need two decimal places and thousands separator.

Okay, try this...
You will need to do a "UNION ALL" of three queries, one for positive values, one for zero values, and one for negative values.
In the "negative values" query, do the following:
1) Add a filter on the measure for values "less than 0"
(This will ensure all values are negative.)
2) In the Data Format tab, select "Custom" and type in #,##0.00-
(This will add the trailing negative sign.)
3) In the Edit Formula tab, add the absolute value function, ABS(insert measure here)
(This will take get rid of the default leading negative sign.)
For the "positive values" query, modify the above as follows:
1) Change the filter to "greater than 0"
2) In the Data format, change the custom format to #,##0.00+
Step 3 is not needed since all values are positive.
For the "zero values" query, just add a filter "equal to zero."

You can achieve the use case you describe with partial page rendering (PPR), a feature of the ADF Faces framework. Here are a few posts that achieve an interactive behavior using PPR. Off the top of my head I do not know of an exact example, but this should be a good starting point:

I have written a program to generate ADOBE FORM, but I need while displaying ADOBE FROM some input field should already be filled by value and can not be changed.

you need to provide the information via the interface, which you create for the Adobe form.
And then pass this values via the following function module inside your generation report.
CALL FUNCTION fm_name
check standard report : FP_EXAMPLE_01 as an example!
