Modify the file.

the actual problem is there is a text file in following kind of entries in each line
<string>, starting point, ending point.
eg. "this is a file" , 10, 20.
now i want to calculate the length of the string and add to starting point and check with ending point if it is false then update the ending point with actual value.
I know the way to change the value(using the string tokenizer).
my question is this lines are in txt1.txt. How can i modify the values within the same file? Should i go for two files ... reading the values from one file and writing to the other values including the changing values or is there any way to modify the same text file.

Either read the entire file in and rewrite it (depends on how large the file is)
OR
Write a temp file then copy that file over the target file. (of course after you've closed the original file.

Could you explain how you are mounting the drive? You may have mounted it as read only.
If you've done it by modifying /etc/fstab, check the options under wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Fstab.
If you're using mount (linux.die.net/man/8/mount) make sure you didn't use the -r or -o ro options.

Apple, please upgrade iTunes 7 and include the ability to disable gapless playback completely for those of us who edit our wavs before saving to MP3. I also find absolutely no use for album art and would like to be able to COMPLETELY disable iTunes from searching for art. Merely choosing "no art" on set up did not do the trick.
If you're going to glut and idiot-proof your products with features of this kind (a la Microsoft), please give those of us that don't want them an easy and complete way to opt out and still use the product for its main purpose (for me) which is to manage files on iPod.

done numerous times. The excel file is a time sheet, which I have to send
once/month, filled in with excel, then printed, signed, and scanned. As an
example, the scanned doc (to pdf) in Jan was 147 kb. The only difference is
a different multi-function unit. Thinking now, perhaps the resolution wa

Modifying the name of the file in the download dialog box

Hi all!
I've a javascript page that make a pdf document in the fly and download that document. Everything is fine, but I'd like to know how can I modifying the file name in the download dialog box, i.e., when the page display:
"You are downloading the file:
xpto.jsp from ..."
I want to substitute the "xpto.jsp" by "file.pdf".
I've already theses lines:
response.setContentType("Application/pdf");
response.setHeader("Content-Disposition", "attachment; filename="+ nameFile+";");
response.setHeader("Content-Length", ""+stp.length);
but the problem persist.
Note that in the second window, the Save As window, everything is fine, the nameFile appears in the file name box. The problem it's only in the first window, the File Download window.

I've discover something. When the File Download window it's displayed with the following text:
"You are downloading the file:
xpto.jsp from localhost
Would you like to open the file or save it in your computer?
button OPEN button SAVE button CANCEL button MORE INFO"
if I press the OPEN button then another File Download window opens with the rigth text:
"You are downloading the file:
file.pdf from..."!!!
i.e, the text desired!
So the first window is unnecessary and undesired!
How can I remove this first File Download window??

In CM I have uploaded a file and have set the permission to modify the file to a group of users.Now when each and every time any user modifies the file content I want to have the modified date inside the updated file.
How can i achieve this?.....

@Parvathy:There is no such property on your files, you should create one in your filter and depending on this custom property your filter should decide if a document update is required or not.
As already said follow this:
You have a content filter which can do updates to these files:
-- Content filter sets a custom property new_modifieddate on each resource after updating resource. (new_modifieddate==cm_modified of resource)
-- It compares new_modifieddate with cm_modified of resource to determine if it should update the resource with cm_modified.
@Shami: Use some logging in your Filter code, so that you can make sure your code is being executed. One more way is to dubug you code by setting break points in NWDS (Ofcourse the server should be in debug mode for this option).
