Could you please remove duplicate posts here:

I just encountered the same. First my reply said it had timed out. Next a message that I could not reply more than once in 30 seconds, then posted another reply. Still nothing in this thread but probably will be duplicated.

I remember there being a 'delete duplicate tracks' option on a much older version of itunes - is this still available and if not if you opt for the 'consolidate library' option will this automatically save to you computer as I have too much music for my laptops memory capacity! You are doing something wrong, iTunes doesn't add tracks to the library unless you ask it to, so there is a problem somewhere in your workflow which is creating the duplicates. For example, having iTunes set up to "Copy files to the iTunes Media folder when adding to library" and then repeatedly adding in a folder from an external drive would do it.
Once you've worked out how to stop creating new duplicates you can look at the issue of deduping what you already have. See this recent post for some thoughts and a script that may prove useful.

Since you are having a problem that is not directly related to the original (and old) post (and I say that because this thread seems to answer the OP's question, but not yours), it woud be better to ask in a new thread. New threads have a better chance of getting answered, and you can give credit to good answers of your own questions. I..e., if someone else answers your question in this thread, you cannot give them credit.
When you pose your new question, it might be good to include a screen shot and a better description of how you have deduced that two projects are identical, along with what you have done to try to find them and where exactly you have looked.

Not a good idea! The "show duplicates" feature shows "all" duplicate tracks, but you only want to delete the "extra" copies, not the "originals".

How do you delete duplicate photos in the photo section of your iPad? My iPad has duplicated n tripled my photos n want let me delete them. I can delete photos from any other section but not in photos, this is taken up all my memory. Help!!

How can you delete duplicate songs in total, instead of the tedious task of one at a time. I have hundreds of duplicates.

Another method you could use is, in that post, click on Report this post. In the Reason (Optional) text field, enter your request.
If you have the link that you want the original text replaced with, you could also include that in the Reason, and a Host may insert it for you.
I've also used the Report this post, and posted a link to this topic for you.

help i need to delete my dupilcates and i dont know how?

While there are 3rd party programs that can help, iTunes does offer a feature to help make finding and deleting duplicates easier. Under the View menu there should be an option of View Duplicates. This feature reports back all songs with the same Song Name and Artist. From here you just have to select the song or songs and press the delete key. Tedious, I know, but the only option within iTunes itself.
Downside of this feature: The View Duplicates will report anything that has the same Artist and Song Name, that means that if the artist has the same song on multiple Albums those songs will appear too. It also will return songs with the same name even if they are not the same length of time.
What all that means is that you should not just delete every copy, but consider that some songs may be live versions or extended versions that just are not marked as such. So, delete what ever duplicates you want, but be careful when doing so.

How do you delete duplicates in address book?

I have over 900 contacts in my Address Book. Is there a quick and easy way to delete duplicates? I have my contacts synced with ICloud. I'm not sure how this happened.

Duplicates are on my MacBook Pro, my ICloud and IPhone is fine.
