Monitor configuration not set with xorg.conf

Hey,
I have a Lenovo Thinkpad x230 with Intel HD4000 Graphics in a Mini Dock Series 3 usb 3.0.
Connected to the Dock are both a 23' Workstation Monitor and a 32' TV. So with the internal Laptop Monitor there are 3 Screens available. The HD4000 is unfortunately able to drive only 2 of them at the same time.
My prefered setup would be to boot up with the 23' Monitor as primary Screen and the internal Display as second.
I can run this setup without problems if configuring it with xrandr but trying to boot with similar configuration in xorg, the internal Monitor ends up being the primary Display (and virtually left to the 23' instead of, on the right..).
My xorg.conf:
Section "Monitor"
Identifier "HDMI3"
Option "Primary" "true"
EndSection
Section "Monitor"
Identifier "LVDS1"
Option "RightOf" "HDMI3"
EndSection
Section "Monitor"
Identifier "HDMI2"
Option "Ignore" "true"
EndSection
In Xorg.0.log i can see the configuration is perfectly loaded but at the very end, a (wrong) configuration overrides it
**Correct**
[ 210.621] (II) intel(0): switch to mode [email protected] on pipe 0 using HDMI3, position (0, 0), rotation normal
[ 210.822] (II) intel(0): switch to mode [email protected] on pipe 1 using LVDS1, position (1920, 0), rotation
**Incorrect**
[ 211.486] (II) intel(0): switch to mode [email protected] on pipe 1 using LVDS1, position (0, 0), rotation normal
[ 211.486] (II) intel(0): switch to mode [email protected] on pipe 0 using HDMI3, position (1366, 0), rotation
As far as i could see the xorg should have the highest priority or am I wrong?
DM is Cinnamon.
Any help is welcome!
Thx

I think you are. I suspect cinnamon is overriding your setup - X starts with the settings you specified in xorg.conf, then cinnamon reads it's own settings and applies those. Try a simple window manager like openbox, if you'll get your xorg.conf setup, then you'll know it's indeed cinnamon messing things up.

    hello my apple id is not set with itunes

    What do you mean 'not set with itunes' ?
    If you mean that you are getting message that it needs to reviewed then you can do so by tapping on it in Settings > iTunes & App Store on your phone, or via the Store > View Account menu option on your computer's iTunes. You will probably need to enter credit card details.

  • Can't properly set up xorg.conf or 10-monitor.conf

    Hi.
    I would like to ask for Your help. I need someone with greater knowledge over Arch than i have. I have problem with either xorg.conf or 10-monitor.conf. As a matter of fact, now xorg.conf is deprecated so more important is 10-monitor conf.
    I have nvidia GTX260 card with newest nvidia drivers. I have 2 DVI's on this card, for an exmaple: DVI-0 nad DVI-1. I would like to use them both using dvi-to-hdmi connector on each of them in order to use my 27 LCD monitor and 40 TV, both with hdmi cable plugged into dvi-hdmi connector and to my graphic card.
    I can't solve my problem. Don't know what to do in order to having both screen working. If my 27 inch LCD monitor is connected by DVI-DSUB connector, i have signal on screen. If i plug it by dvi-hdmi connector, than i have screen, singal, picture during boot, but GUI won't load, it stays on "running user interface" or something similar. It is because of my settings in 10-monitor.conf. Here is my setup of 10-monitor.conf

    As you can see, there are few section named monitor because Arch detects with nvidia drivers, that i have few screens attached, while i haven't. If i change monitor sections than i could have random switching off signal/screen, and either can have pictrure or don't at all, wither with good 19x12 resolution, or changed for a different, streched to right and i can't log in, and change it eithere.
    So, i would like to have what i discribed on top. Could somebody point me in good direction? I tried to generate xorg.conf using nvdia-xcofig, than i applied it to 10-monitor.conf but after reboot i got stuck at "running user interface" or gui, there was no KDE greeting login screen - in my opinion because 10-monitor.conf can't detect that screen is attached by dvi-hdmi connector (detect ok with dvi-dsub and my setting of 10-monitor.conf above). So what to do in order to Arch detects dvi-hdmi connector and detects that i have screen in order to being found and in order to log in into login screen?
    When i renamed 10-monitor.conf to 10-monitor.conf.bak and rebooted, i get past "running user interface" or logins screen, i have purple-blue kde greeting and could log in but resolution was stretched on right side and i have only "left side" of screen, so i didn't see login "propmt", or login window, and couldn't log in. Tried to kill x and resuming kdm.service but it won't work. Don't see login window on blue-purple loging screen.
    I would like to get past this, would like to use dvi-hdmi connector on my 27 LCD monitor, and being able to use the same dvi-hdmi connector for my 40 TV and use them both. Could somebody help me? What do change in 10-monitor.conf, what to add, what to remove? I'm using now only 27 LCD monitor trough dvi-dsub because i can log into login window because it is in the center of the screen, not stretched to righ on dvi-hdmi connector.
    It is not fault of the connectors, i tried on Windows and it Works. Want do have it on Arch because i dont use Windows very often.
    Help [:|]

    Heh, i found something so stupid about Arch that i can't believe it. In fact, i'm not able to change it.
    I had two screen connected to my new graphic card, i moved from GTX260 to GTX660. One flat panel, LG 27 inch, was connected troug one of the DVI (DVI-I-1) and 40 TV was connected trough second DVI (DVI-D-0). What i found? Well, as a matter of fact, this new graphic has booting sequence order regarding working outs during boot. On HDMI out and on DVI-I-1 when booting there is signal and screen. On DVI-D-0 during booting sequence there is no singal, singnal comes up at login prompt of Windows or Arch. Ok, can live with that.
    There is one that i can't. If i want to have working setup of my 27 + 40 flat panels, i have to have 27 connected trough hdmi out, 40 trough something other. I'm not able to have 27 connected to DVI-I-1 and 40 TV to DVI-D-0 because during booting sequence, when there is low resolution, i have screen and singal on 27 flat panel, but when there should come up kde welcome login screen, i don't have it. It stays at terminal, when i see info "sterting upser graphic mode". That's strange! The only way to have booting sequence on 27, and also singal/screen after booting sequence of 27 is to have connected 27 flat panel to hdmi out, not DVI-I-1! Why? Don't know but Arch doesen't want to work that way, no matter what i put in 10-monitor.conf. Tried the same on Windows, no matter which out is being used (hdmi or DVI-I-1), during booting sequence there is singal/screen/picture and after it i can normally log into Windows. In case of Arch, i can't.
    Don't know. I would show my 10-monitor.conf:

    I wan't to have both flat panels on DVI outs because i need hdmi for something other. Is there a way to solve it? Strange is that with provided resolution, vertical and horizontal frequencies, on hdmi out i can boot, i can log into Arch (while my other screen is being found, and also i see picture on login screen) but when i use both of DVI outs, i see booting sequences, and than Arch informs me that has started graphic user mode...but it stays at this black screen. What's more strange is that if i delete 10-monitor.conf, connect my 27 LCD to DVI-D-0, and TV to DVI-I-1, than i see booting on Toshiba 40 TV, don't see it on LG 27, after log in i can set proper resoluton for 27 LG, have both screen working, but if i save this settings in 10-monitor.conf, after reboot...the same thing, stays at message that Arch started graphical user mode.
    Don't know what's going on. Can somebody check my xorg? Point me? Maybe xinerama is at fault? I want my LG 27 to be cloned on 40 TV.
    In big shortcut: during boot on DVI-I-1 i have signal, can't log into gui mode, stays at mentioned screen with info that it started graphic user mode. What to do, or what to put into 10-monitor.conf?

  • Arch64 ati radeon 3870 radeonhd driver. Problem with xorg.conf.

    I've got a small problem with my xorg. I won't hide that i'm not a xorg nerd and i've used the automatic xorg tool to generate the xorg.conf. After starting X, the screen goes black and then after ~5 seconds  montior switches to power-saving mode.
    So here we go.
    That's xorg.conf

  • Keyboard not working with xorg-server 1.6.1-1 or xkeyboard 1.5-1

    Hello!
    I have a problem with a no working keyboard. It seems like this is a problem related to some of the latest xkeyboard-config or xorg-server versions. This have been a problem some time, but it have been solved by downgrading xkeyboard-config to v1.5-1 and xorg-server to v1.6.1-1.
    I'm booting into runlevel 3. Keyboard is working in the terminal, but when I run startx, the keyboard stops working. The mouse works fine.
    Have tested with an empty xorg.conf file. Then I get a 'no screen found' error. And I have tryed to enable the keyboard entry in xorg.conf. X starts, but no keyboard. Hal is running.
    Any ideas?
    The xorg.conf and rc.conf

  • Problems with xorg.conf - 3D acceleration

    here's my problem... im trying to get the ati drivers to work so i can get beryl and compiz to work from the looks of it. Direct Rendering is disabled. I dont know if i can use glxinfo on the ati drivers. The Video card is an ATI Xpress 200 build into my laptops motherboard.
    [root@myhost ~]$ glxinfo | grep rendering
    Xlib: extension "XFree86-DRI" missing on display ":0.0".
    direct rendering: No
    This is how i set everyhing up.. i started by automatically detecting all the settings to xorg.conf then i did the stuff below.
    pacman -S ati-fglrx ati-fglrx-utils
    aticonfig --initial --input=/etc/X11/xorg.conf
    Using /etc/X11/xorg.conf
    Saved back-up to /etc/X11/xorg.conf.original
    this installed well but i still get "Direct Rendering: NO"  i attached my xorg.conf... what changes do i need in order to get Direct Rendering to work and so it supports Beryl/Compiz?

    Your xorg.conf is all messed up.
    Look in the wiki for how to set it up. i.e. You are calling the vesa driver and the fglrx driver. Look at wiki "fglrx" and "beryl".

  • Functioning Monitor will not display with Mac Mini

    I'm trying to get an IBM E74 CRT monitor working with an early 2009 Mac Mini. I have it connected with Apple's mini-DVI to VGA adapater. The Mac "sees" the monitor since with screen sharing I can see the Display System Preference when the monitor is attached. It shows the monitor as an IBM E74 and allows what appear to be appropriate choices as far as resolution and refresh rate are concerned. I tried many combinations of resolution and refresh rate with no difference in behavior.
    The monitor always acts like no signal is detected (built it message on monitor display). This monitor works fine with a B&W G3 and a late 2007 MacBook Pro. Any ideas why the Mac Mini is not driving the monitor? Have tried all combinations cycling power on the monitor, connecting / disconnecting while the Mac Mini is power up. Have had the monitor connected and powered on when booting the Mac Mini. For whatever reason the monitor does not seem to work with the Mac Mini, but works fine with other computers.
    The monitor despite its' age has pretty low time on it and is quite serviceable. Are there quirks with the VGA interface that we may be running into? I would like to get this combo working together if at all possible.

    I would say the VGA interface did evolve somewhat over that time period. In particular, the thing that may have changed that could be the underlying cause of the problem is sync termination impedance has trended upwards. It's not unusual to find older monitors with low impedance on sync. Some even had 75 ohm impedance, which required a line driver for sync the same as for video.
    It could be the IBM monitor has fairly low termination impedance and the mini is unable to provide sufficient output on the sync lines to drive TTL levels, whereas the MBP is doing better. You could check this with a simple ohm meter with the IBM monitor turned off. Ideally, for the mini, you would want to see a high impedance reading on H and V sync, like close to 2k ohms. If it's 500 ohms or less, then the mini may not be able to drive sync properly.
    On an old monitor like that, it is likely to have old fashioned components with axial leads rather than surface mount components. If you are handy with a soldering iron, you could find the offending resistors and bring the monitor up to a more modern, high impedance standard of 1.8k to 2.2k.

  • [SOLVED] DPMS screen off not working with xorg 1.16.0, gnome 3

    After the update of xorg into 1.16.0-2, screen is not turned off by DPMS in GNOME.
    I also tried an manual command:
    $ xset dpms force off
    but it's not working.
    In other WM, this command is working.
    With xorg 1.15.2 and gnome 3, there is not this problem.
    When I entered the command, the screen turned off for a couple of seconds and turned back on.

    Updating xf86-video-intel to 2.99.912-4 solved the problem.
    Thanks.

  • OamAuthn cookies are not set with encrypted value in https login with FFbro

    we have developed a custom login page which is deployed on oam server itself .
    In custom login page we are passing 3 userinfo like username ,passowrd and request id as part of authentication parameter .
    We have developed our own javascript to pass all these information using ajax call .
    Below are the snippet of ajax method which is posting the data to oam server .
    var uname = $("#username").val();
    var pwd = $("#password").val();
    pwd = pwd.replace( /&/g, '%26' );
    var requestId = $("#request_id").val();
    var oamAuthenticationUrl=$("#oamAuthUrl").val()+'/oam/server/auth_cred_submit';
    var postdata = "username=" + uname + "&password=" + pwd + "&request_id=" + requestId;
    $.ajax( {
    type :'POST', url : oamAuthenticationUrl, data :postdata,
    complete : function (xmlHttp, statusCode) {
    // some code if user login is done successfully ......
    Here we are making login page call using ssl port Like our login page is https://oamserver:14101/.....
    This code is working perfectly fine in internet explorer but in firefox oracle access manager is not setting any value to oamAuthnCookeis.
    I mean before logging and after logging value of oamAuthnCookies remains same like
    LoggedoutContinue .
    Thanks,

    This is a known issue of CEP (Common Extensibility Platform, a DLL that supports displaying extensions). Code like “document.cookie” in HTML extension is invalid because CEF (CEP integrated CEF3 to display HTML Extensions) intentionally disables cookies on "file://..." for a variety of reasons.
    However, CEP stores cookies at:
    Windows: "C:\Users\yourusername\AppData\Local\Temp\cep_cookies"
    Mac: "/Users/yourusername/Library/Logs/CSXS/cep_cookies"
    Please let me know if more information is needed, thanks

  • [SOLVED] Samsung q1 ( egalax ) touchscreen not working with Xorg 1.6

    I was using egalax touchscreen driver 2.06.2410 in my samsung Q1 :
    http://home.eeti.com.tw/web20/eGalaxTou … Driver.htm
    With the Xorg update to 1.6 version touchscreen stop working. If you want it back you can use this egalax_drv.so i got from eeti:
    http://rapidshare.com/files/228797256/e … rv.so.html
    Liquibyte and Kriblom kindly provided alternative (and probably better ) hosting:
    http://www.liquibyte.com/driver/egalax_drv.so
    http://dont-looze-touch.ovh.org/egalax_drv.so
    It do worked for me using the 2.06.2410 driver and overwriting the old egalax_drv.so in /usr/lib/xorg/modules/input. I'm on 32 bit and i don't know if this do work in 64 bit too.

  • SSIS configuration Not Working With SQL agent Job

    Hi,
    I have created an SSIS configuration table in SQL Server where in I store all connection strings. This configuration is enabled within my package. To make even the DB where I store connection strings, I have an environment varibale. I thus have 2 configurations
    in the following order:
    1. env variable: Points to the DB where in my connection strings would be stored.
    2. SQl Server configuration:where I actually, store the connection strings.
    However , when I try to execute the package, it seems the SQL Server agent does not read from the Configuration tables at all.
    Can someone let me know how to enable this from within SQL Server agent? I do not store connection strings in a file, so I can't add any files within the configuration tab.
    Please let me know as to how do I enable configurations stored within SQL tables from SQL Server Agent jobs. I am using SQL Server 2008.

    Todd,
    Yes, I have enabled the configurations from within the package. When I open the package from BIDS, I do see information stating that package is trying to read from the environment variable and from the SQL Server.
    However, when the same package is used in a SQL Agent job, in the data sources tab, I see the connection string which I have set manually within the package, not the one which it should read from the Configuration table.
    E.g. in the design of my package, I am using Server A with Credential1, but within the Configuration table, against the same Connection, for the Same Server , I have stored Credential2.
    It should read the Credential2, as I have configuration enabled (as I can also verify from the messages within BIDS, upon opening the pacakge).
    However, it just reads the same Credential1, which has been supplied at design time.
    Not sure how can I access the Configuration stored within the SQL table from a SQL Agent job

  • Samsung LED Monitor TA950 not working with Macbook pro

    I bought a Samsung TA950 Full HD LED 3D 27 inch monitor and trying to connect my MBP (early-mid 2009, does not support, MiniPort Audio). Connecting using MDP-DVI to HDMI to connect and MBP detects the monitor, I can see and change Display preferences. The monitor only flashes "no signal" when I disconnect the cables so something is happening...every so often my macbook pro display "flashes" momentarily as if it is recognizing a connection but a)nothing shows up in the display prefs after clicking "detect display" and b) nothing shows up on the external monitor. The monitor did worked and showed the MBP screen when I disconnect the cable, set the MBP display resolution to 1152 by 720, than connect the Miniport cable, the monitors flickers and shows the screen, and after a minute or 2, it goes black and goes in the loop of flickering and trying to detect the monitor

    Hi, I got the same monitor the other day and there should be no problem getting it to work.
    Use the DP to mini-DP cable supplied with the monitor.
    Make sure this cable is plugged into the correct input DP port in the back of the monitor (not the DP port for daisychaining).
    Make sure the DP input is selected in the inputs menu on screen.
    Plug mini-DP end of the cable into Mac
    Should work ...

  • HP 2311C USB Monitor will not work with Windows 8.1

    Just done a clean install of Windows 8.1 on my HP Spectre XT Pro.
    The HP2311C monitor is working fine as a USB hub and the built-in Network card but will not detect the monitor as a USB monitor.
    This was working when it was a Windows 8 build and previous Windows 7 build.
    I have downloaded and installed all the HP drivers and run the HP Support Assistant to make sure everything is up to date.
    My two other collegues who have done the same upgrade with the same kit and are also having the problem.
    If we plug the HP2311C into a Windows 8 or Windows 7 machine the USB monitor works fine.
    Tried several reboots, connections and uninstalls, which have not worked. Also there are no event logs to suggest an anwser.

    I am having the same problem with my SPECTRE PRO 13 and Windows 8.1 - most unhappy about it. There is no 8.1 driver for the L2311c and I get no help out of HP as to when there might be one . These items are not cheap in NZ and I feel I have wasted my $$. It works fine on XP!

  • Speakers on monitor do not work with Win 8.1

    Yesterday I upgraded from Win X - SP 3 (discontinued by Microsoft)  to Win 8.1.  I spent the entire day with a Microsoft technition on-line to figure out how all this works.  One thing he could not get to work was the speakers on my monitor (HP vs 19c). He took over control of my computer to work out the various issues.   I know he went to Realtec to try to find a driver for the speakers but without luck.  The speakers worked before, why don't they work with Win 8.1.  The monitor works fine.  Unfortunately without sound I cannot go through the tutorials to learn more about how to use Win 8.1.
    This question was solved.
    View Solution.

    Thank you so very much.  I installed the driver for Win 8.1 but that apparently was not the problem.  Please forgive me for being so dense.  On control panel I kept seeing the problem  as not having the speakers plugged in.  The other day I unplugged to wire going to the computer and re-plugged it, but that did not work.  This morning I unplugged the speaker wire  from both ends - the computer as well as the monitor and replugged it.  Surprise, I now have audio!!
    What a relief as now I can go through the tutorials and learn how Win 8.1 works though I have already learned a lot by hit or miss.

  • Dynamic Configuration not working with Integrated Configuration

    Hi All,
    Dynamic Configuration works fine in PI 7.3 when Classical Configuration is used. However the same does not work using Integrated Configuration.
    Scenario :
    SOAP -->SOAP Synchronous scenario in PI 7.3 (Dual Stack).
    Trying to save a value from Request mapping using dynamic configuration and use the same in response mapping.
    UDF Code :
    Request Mapping :
    DynamicConfiguration conf = (DynamicConfiguration) container.getTransformationParameters().get(StreamTransformationConstants.DYNAMIC_CONFIGURATION);
    DynamicConfigurationKey Variable = DynamicConfigurationKey.create("http://sap.com/xi/XI/System/SOAP", "Variable1");
    conf.put(Variable, a);
    Response Mapping :
    DynamicConfigurationKey Variable = DynamicConfigurationKey.create("http://sap.com/xi/XI/System/SOAP", "Variable1" );
    string1 = conf.get(Variant);
    Note : Using Integrated Config(AAE Processing) - Response header does not have DynamicConfiguration header node , but Classical Configuration has that.

    Parimala
    Edited by: ParimalaE on Mar 1, 2012 1:33 PM

    For us this is what we had:
    This didn't work (getInputParameters is the newer stuff that doesn't work):
    DynamicConfiguration dc = (DynamicConfiguration)container.getInputParameters().getValue(StreamTransformationConstants.DYNAMIC_CONFIGURATION);
    DynamicConfigurationKey dck = DynamicConfigurationKey.create("http://sap.com/xi/XI/System/SOAP","TServerLocation");
    dc.put(dck,"https://xyz.api-salesforce.com/services/Soap/c/26.0/0DFa00000008jis");
    return "";
    This works for us(we had to remove getInputParameters):
    DynamicConfiguration dc =  (DynamicConfiguration) container.getTransformationParameters().get(StreamTransformationConstants.DYNAMIC_CONFIGURATION);
    DynamicConfigurationKey dck = DynamicConfigurationKey.create("http://sap.com/xi/XI/System/SOAP","TServerLocation");
    dc.put(dck,"https://xyz.api-salesforce.com/services/Soap/c/26.0/00D3000000001X0");
    return "";
